Love this disc for anhyzer shots. I originally got this for straight flights but would throw it too hard and have it flip over. When I first started I did the rookie mistake of getting 13 and 14 speed drivers and really just tried to rip it all down the fairway. I got this disc as a step down back to the basics disc and when I stopped trying to throw this 500+ feet I started liking it a lot more. I can consistently throw this disc on a pure anhyzer line for about 250-300 feet depending on how much anhyzer I try and give it. This is also a great disc to learn a backhand roller. I have gotten away from this disc because I finally got a Buzzz and it is almost my exclusive midrange because it is so versatile but I keep this disc handy for practice and for those days I really need a good anhyzer disc. Would highly recommend for new players.

This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite discs. This disc flies incredibly straight. I use it on any approach shot that needs to go straight. There is a predictable, faint hyzer at the end. When thrown hard, I can get it to turn over, resulting in a decently long flight (for me). I ended up getting a second one since I like it so much. I would highly recommend this for any beginner.

I have this disc in ESP plastic. The ratings on that plastic are a bit different than z (ESP being 5,5,-4,1). I am a beginner in disc golf, but overall I've enjoyed throwing this disc. It is very understable, which has helped a lot with control and release angle. If you can release it at the right angle it will stand up, flatten out, and glide quite a ways.

When I first started using it, I would only use it for drives because I didn't have the arm speed for other drivers. Now that I mainly use higher speed discs, I have found this disc to be incredible for tricky approach shots. I can use the understability of the disc to maneuver my way around trees and hills to find the pin. Even for fairly straight shots about 80-100 feet out, I have found this disc to be a great choice to lay up with.

The only downside to this disc and why I didn't want to give it a 5 star rating is the inconsistency. This disc is tough to go where you want it to go. Some of that could probably be chalked up as human error as I am only a beginner. Though, the understablity and flight tends to do different things when I think I am throwing it the same way. The wind also definitely plays a factor as it will turn over very easy and quickly turn into a "throwler". Though, the times I've tried to roll it went pretty well and I could see this being a good roller disc if you use it for that.

Overall, a pretty good disc to try out and see how it flies and for me, even better as an approach disc.

I wish I had used this disc as a beginner. It's a great anhyzer disc for me now, as an intermediate player, throwing RHBH. It flies very true to the flight chart and can be thrown perfectly straight when thrown with hyzer. I throw a lot of forehand but I find the Archer to dump over and crash if forehanded. Overall, Archer has a place in the bag and can be used a few times per round for me. As a beginner, this would have been much more utilized on the course.

Just got this disc and it's great so far. It's useful for me in tight areas, getting around obstacles, hyzer flipping and I use it in z plastic for the amount of trees I'm throwing it near. My only question is the posted flight numbers say 6, 3, -3, 1. However my disc says 5, 4, -4, 1. Regardless it's probably one of the best beginner discs on the market and a lot of intermediate players could make good use of it.

I fell in love with it after the 2016 Ace Race, and now this is my go to turnover disc.  Because of an elbow injury, I'm limited in what I can get distance wise with a RHFH.  I'm almost exclusively a RHBH player, so when I come to a hole that I need to finish to the right, I pull my Archer out of my bag.  I used to throw the Stratus for this role, but found that it (only available in the Pro-D and X-line plastic) got too flippy after a few tree hits.  In the ESP plastic, the Archer has been consistent even when my throw puts it into a tree or two.

I especially love how it will hold it's line throughout the flight.  It makes for some pretty shots when you need to angle something in on an anhyzer line.

This is the disc that I learned how to throw a hyzer-flip back hand with. A great understable midrange, but it can handle quite a bit of torque forehand and backhand. I found it useful for a hyzer-flip forehand that just drifts to the left (RHFH). Also a good midrange roller. As a beginner, you can get tons of different uses out of it and learn essential disc golf throws. Feels great in the hands with a very small bead. ESP is also such a durable and pretty looking plastic blend. Recommended.

The Archer is the perfect introduction disc! It will be a disc players can grow into and learn necessary skills like hyzer flipping, disc angle and speed control.

I participated in the 2016 ace race and got some good playing time in with the archer. If I could give this disc to every beginner learning how to play disc golf I would. For me, it's an understable utility disc that I don't use much, but when I really need it I'm thankful that I have it. I use it to get out of trouble. For instance if I have to straddle an awkward right hand forehand shot to get out of trouble, and I need the disc to flip to understable and land to the left I go for this disc. For the use that I need it's nice to have, but if you put in any power it can get really understable, really quick. The flight numbers are pretty on point.

This is a very comfortable disc. Lots of glide with a great feel in the hand. I use it for turnovers and hyzer-flip to flat shots. Even though it's understable, it has enough HSS to stay up in the air for a long time. It's only a speed 6, but it's long enough to be a fairway for sure. As a LHBH player, I am always looking for solid turnover discs that I can throw on a dog leg left. This is a keeper!

I played in the 2016 Discraft Ace Race and really liked this disc.  It was a fun disc to try out.  I used it for both FH and BH and got great results from both.  The profile is really nice and it leaves the hand very smooth.  As a FH, I threw some nice hyzer flips and got great distance.  As a BH disc, it had a good amount of turn and would finish with a slight fade at the end.  The glide is big on this disc, it just carries a lot farther than most speed 6 discs.  To me, it felt more like a fairway driver than a fast mid.  This would be a good beginner disc for someone without a lot of speed.  It reminded me of a slower Valk with a little less fade at the end.

I would recommend this disc as a beginner's driver! The first time I got this disc (Ace Race 2016) I was in love! I didnt have to put any effort for it to go 250'. Now that I have been throwing harder and faster, This is my fast anhyzer disc. Occasionally when grass is short I will throw a roller with the Archer. The glide on this thing is outrageous! Once it is up in the air, It does,t want to come down. Highly valued and still in my bag!
