The Discmania PD (Power Driver) is a great addition to any disc golfer's bag. The wide rim, fast flight, and overstability of the disc allows you to set this disc sailing with a fast spin on a steep anhyzer and watch it pull a beautiful s-curve as it soars through the air. As it beats in, this disc will become a straight flying, dependable go-to.

My introduction to the PD was the Lone Howl 3. This thing is a beef cake. It does not care about headwinds in the slightest. It sits on the cusp of utility level overstable and useable overstable. I don't have the biggest arm but could push this close to 300ft on a flex line. I tried it on a variety of lines. Thumbers, tomahawks and grenades were pretty sweet. My favorite shot was just a big sky hyzer line. I have a Nordic Phenom 1 and 2 that I haven't thrown yet so I will post another update once I've had some time with those. So far, I've enjoyed the PD.

This is a strange flavor of PD.  It seems to have a lot less glide than any other PD.  It reminds me a lot of a faster FD3, it just wants to find the ground.  I think the FD3 or forebird does a better job in the slot this disc fills.

Disc: Discmania Metal Flake C-Line PD 175 grams

Playing Conditions: Midwest 10-25 mph head/cross winds, 50-60 degrees F and dry.

Feel:The MF C-Line plastic used for this run of PD is grippy and a bit more flexible than standard C-Line from Discmania. Average dome (not pop-top or flat) helps produce good glide. Rim is comfortable to power grip with no sharpness on the edges.

Flight:Thrown flat, the high speed flight was very straight with no turn. The low speed fade was very helpful to keep this disc moving forward instead of dumping out laterally, probably between 2 and 3 depending on the conditions and neutral release angle, leading to a forward skip off the dry dirt/grass added some distance.

Impressions:I have been impressed by the few throws I have made, with a couple drives off the tee skipping under and hitting the basket from about 320 feet away. All throws were right hand backhand with a slight hyzer release to combat the wind.

Comparisons:I found this version of the PD to fall directly between the Innova Thunderbird (Champion, 9/5/0/2) and Discmania PDx (C-line, 11/4/0/3.5) in terms of speed and fade. A very useable 10/4.5/0/2.5 rating.
