I tried this disc out of pure curiosity. I was trying to learn about some of discraft's less popular molds. I have been playing for about a year and I don't throw very far. 250-300ft is pretty normal for me. The disc I chose was in BigZ plastic. I have thrown this disc backhand a few times. It is a good driver. The flight numbers are accurate. It is kind of riding that distance/fairway line.

The real joy of this disc is when I threw it on forehand. It just goes so straight. I love how it flies. I tend to err on the over stable side to correct for my inconsistencies, but his disc has the perfect amount of stability to handle torque and fly dead straight on forehand. I would definitely recommend this disc for someone who wants straight forehand throws.

The Vulture is one of those drivers you never hear much about, but it's quietly a very solid performer. IMO the Vulture performs like an Anax, but with a tick less speed, glide, and distance. Great driver for shots when accuracy is important. The Vulture won't turn on hard rips, and is a consistent flier. Faster than a fairway driver, but slower than a max distance driver. Also very comparable to a Thunderbird or Getaway.

Awesome disc! kinda like the Anex's little brother it has almost the same flight handles power very well but much easier to flip up flat and carry well into the 400ft range. has a very dependable and long fade at the end of flight and by long I mean as the disc slows the fade increases it doesn't just happen all at once. I use this for long straight shots where you need to round a corner both long and wide. highly recommend this disc!

Oh I love this disc. I bought one used, covered in pond scum and didn't even know what it was. Cleaned it up, and saw it was a big z, and I love discraft so I gave it a try. I bag two predators and they're probably one of my all time favorites and a common go-to, so I didn't seem to have a need for it initially. I gave it another go later on, to really see what was up with it, and almost aced the hole first throw. It goes so straight and doesn't fade nearly as hard as my predators. People say it flies like a beat in predator and I agree for the most part, just a pinch less of that meat hook factor at the end of the flight. Any tight, long line the vulture can pure it. It's hard to turn it over without trying and it just keeps pushing straight. It's not my open field bomber, but it does go far, accurately.I bought two more in big z plastic as backups, but the thing flies so predictably I haven't had to replace it yet. Can't praise it enough.

I've had this disc (Big Z) for a few weeks and only thrown it a dozen or 2 times, so my opinion may not hold much weight. Not sure if it just isn't broken in yet or what, but i don't quite get this disc yet. As other reviewers mentioned, its a very straight flyer and good in the wind, both things i dig about it. But it seems different when it comes outta the hand.

This thing always goes really high for me even when i think I've got the nose down. It goes high and straight but almost always comes up short of other similar speed drivers i have like Avenger SS, Mantis and Anax. Its very similar to my Anax but I like my Anax better.

I haven't quite figured out if it fits any spot in my bag yet, aside from being useful on windy days. Its nice that i can throw it really hard and not worry about it turning over but i feel like something is off about it especially with how high it likes to go. With sidearms, this thing always exits my hand a fraction early and immediately fades right. I have no problem with my sidearms but this one feels even beefier than my Felon with that type of throw. Its far more overstable on a forehand than it is with a backhand, which kinda confuses me.

Like i said, perhaps mine just needs a little more seasoning but i was hyped about this disc until i threw it. It ended up pretty anticlimactic for me and not living up to my expectations. Its not a *bad* disc, i just haven't figured it out yet and unless its windy I'll probably reach for an Anax, Mantis or a Felon for whatever the Vulture can do. I would rate the speed a 9 not a 10 and the glide a 4 not a 5. But i will edit this review in the future as i get more experience with it.

I bought this disc as an anniversary present to myself (as my wife took a nap in the car). I had never heard of the Vulture, but I was looking for something that would give me a stable/straight flight with a predictable fade finish. I looked up the flight numbers (would help if they'd just put them on the disc), and ended up going with the Vulture.

I have only thrown this disc about 15 times after 1 day of field work and one round of golf, However, I can say with pretty good confidence that this disc will be staying in my bag. It does what I was hoping it would do, and I especially love the flat top (not a fan of domey discs). I have been working more on my forehand, and I especially am partial to flat topped discs for forehand throws. I can see me using this disc more and more in the future, especially for forehand distances under 275' (maybe more once my forehand improves).

All in all, I'd say this is a great disc with a similar flight to my Gstar Firebird, but with less fade at the end of the flight.

I bough in Big Z so it would maximize the stability of the disc. I was surprised at how easily it will turn over, particularly in a headwind. I bought the disc specifically for moderately windy days for flat and slight hyzer lines.

Great disc overall, just needs a bit more hyzer than I expected. Good windy disc if you are a beginner.

10 speed overstable. Do you need more information? Reliable distance and really good distance... Glide is stronger than I expected but maybe the didn't dare to say its 6? For me it might as well be.

Reliable with both forehand and back hand. Good distance and especially glide. I throw forehand with a minor hyzer just to make it sure it won't turn over. On the backhand you can see it fly and it's even a more reliable shot. When the speed is not max, the margin of error is smaller, which makes this a disc with accuracy on right distances.

Longer flying than most overstable 10-speed discs I have tried.

This disc flies very similar to the innova thunderbird. It has a nice long and straight flight, and a moderate fade near the end. Overall this disc feels great in the hand, and has a relatively flat top. I was not getting consistent releases out of this disc on sidarm throws, however backhand it flew very well. The only thing I didnt like about this disc is that into a moderate headwind it would flip over fairly quickly. This disc does go very far and straight however, making it an excelent fairway/control driver on calm days.

    172g Big Z

A great disc for long backhand hyzer shots. I was hoping this would be a good disc for headwinds while getting more distance than the predator, but the big z has beaten enough that I can't trust it to fade in headwinds when thrown straight with power (z would be a better choice). I still love this disc for backhand shots in the 280-330 range in calm conditions, and use my avenger in the wind.

This disc I bought, expecting Discraft’s version of a thunderbird. I was almost right with that assumption. The vulture is slightly less stable than a thunderbird, it even has a tiny little hint of flip at the beginning of the flight. It also feels like it has a slightly wider diameter than my other drivers, I don’t know why, but it always seems to stick out of my bag just a little bit more than the others, secondly, the rim feels like a speed 9 rim, in fact, it’s probably the same size as my other speed nines, but the vulture just inexplicably goes much farther than them in a consistent basis. My vulture is bratty flat on the top, which I think makes it very nice for forehands, and also good for backhands. The closest comparison to this disc is a beat in thunderbird, although, the vulture is very unique, and if you (like me) are a fan of the hybrid, speed nine type drivers, I would definitely give this one a try

note: this is a 5/5 review not a 1/5, I’m not sure what is going on

I just added two vultures to my bag because of how well these fly! I throw a big z and a swirly esp vulture. The big z is more stable and flies similar to a champ thunderbird and the esp is a little less stable and glides for days while still finishing left when throwing RHBH. I love the versatility of this disc as well. I prefer to only bag discs that I can forehand and backhand and this disc def fits that bill! Enjoy!

I found the Vulture to be a very good fairyway driver for throws where I needed a combination of moderate distance and overstability. I would not say that it fades hard-- it doesn't fall into the "utility disc" category for me. It falls more into the realm of a go-to disc for me. I could see the Vulture being a frequent flyer for me, always giving a predictable yet not overly intense fade. It is a bit less overstable than my Predator, but a little more so than my Undertaker, both of which I think are great fairway drivers.

I wouldn't say that the Vulture is a great choice as the first driver in the bag of a beginning player, but it is certainly a solid disc for players who have been playing a while and need a disc that they can shot-shape around obstacles and turn to regularly for predictable flight.

Had this guy for about a week now, quickly became the most used disc in my bag. Super straight flyer with a solid face at the end of the flight. My local course is more than half long tunnel shots with trees in very inconvenient places, so a disc with no movement in the flight was exactly what I was missing. Unfortunately I threw it into a pond yesterday and it's a bit too cold to dive for it yet so this morning I ordered 2 spares. This is the only disc in my bag I consider irreplacable, and the only disc I have spares of. This disc goes dead straight out to about 250 for me, lots of glide and a good skip, I highly reccomend for intermediate or better players.

I have been looking for a stable fairway driver for the longest time, and think I have finally found what I am looking for with this disc. The rim reminds me a lot of the Predator, however has a smoother lip resulting in a less stable disc. It's slightly faster than an Undertaker, but slower than a high speed driver.

This disc could also be compared to a slightly more stable Metal Flake Teebird3, with the same flat top profile. It feels extremely comfortable in the hand, although still feels not so good in the hand with a forehand grip (similar to the Predator).

For me, I will be using this disc for shots many players will use a fresh Thunderbird for. It can handle power and still give you that reliable hyzer finish.

I've finally found a go-to stable fairway driver with a comfortable rim, and maybe you will too!

The Vulture is a pretty beefy fairway driver. I mainly enjoy using it for lower skip shots, since it has a decently low profile and flairs up nicely. It was really good at scooting around corners about 200 feet out. The plastic and rim feel great and is really easy to grip and throw. I don't throw a lot of Discraft, so it's hard to compare it to many discs in their lineup, but I feel like it's a bit more stable of an undertaker.

In the end, it's a solid disc for that overstable fairway slot, probably like a Thunderbird or something similar. A nice addition for Discraft, but not something that'll I'll immediately bag.

    Ditto the first review!

I got to throw my 171 gram Vulture in approximately 10mph winds today with gusts around 15mph. My experience with  Thunderbirds is only from a freakishly overstable 150 gram DX one so I can't comment on that, but I was looking for a Discraft version of something akin to my Innova Orc. The Vulture is close. I believe Discraft's new flight ratings are spot on with this disc. It would turn slightly into a headwind for me and fade as expected in a tailwind. The plan was for this disc to be my slightly more stable Undertaker and I believe it fits the bill. I was consistently getting 20-25 extra feet of distance over my Undertakers as well.
