Short Summary: If you have a preference for deeper discs and need a nice and overstable approach disc, this is it.

Feel: The plastic is really great for a baseline disc, allowing for great grip and reasonably resistant to damage. The disc feels very smooth with no noticable awkwardness in design. The most noticable differentiator from other approach discs is the depth. The bottom of the rim is more of a straight line than it is rounded, which actually makes it feel alright as a putter, if you wanted to do that.

Flight: Pretty standard flight for the type of disc that it is, straight for a bit with a guarenteed finish. No matter the power put behind it, it has the same flight. If thrown for light approaches even, it'll hold straight before fading out.

Best disc ever! I started using my Harp half a year ago and now its a staple in my bag. Before that i struggled to find an approach disc that matched all criterions - the Harp is overstable enough, it has very low speed and its very shallow and comfortable for my forehand grip. Before I started using my Harp I tried Tactic, Berg and the Zone.

I use my Harp for both backhand and forehand approaches but my arm speed is too slow to drive with it, but Anything within 220 feet and its a Harp. I use the Bt Hard, it gets beaten in quite quickly but the grip, flatness and the tackiness suits me.

One of the best approach discs out there however, there are better options. A great disc that taught me how to forehand; absolutely changed how I played the game and looked at courses. Not nearly as stable as one would want from time to time, but the low glide and the angle of the rim are great to have it sit and stick with minor flare.

Disc - Harp BT Hard Plastic

Just to pre-frame things, I have been playing more seriously for around 1 year but have played on and off for about 8 years. I am right hand dominant with a pretty even split between forehand and backhand shots. My honest drive distance is around 275-300 feet with a max of around 350 on a good day.

This disc has been a little challenging to get used to. It was very overstable for my arm speed initially, but as I have had time to practice it has turned into a serviceable disc for both forehand and back hand approach shots. As others have noted here, the disc was deeper than expected and forced me to alter my normal grip a bit when throwing. In doing so I have sacrificed some accuracy which led me to keep the harp out of my bag. I bag 2 Zones instead which have just worked out better for me. Forehand was definitely the most applicable use for this disc in my game and I was able to park some great upshots with it. Backhand was more of a struggle.

Overall solid disc which can be excellent for upshots is you like deeper rim profiles or are forehand dominant.

This disc is magical. Westside is putting some sort of basket homing mechanism in these things. I have one Harp, likely the first of many, in BT hard. It won't turn over, but it's not OS to the point where you have to seriously power it to cover some ground. Mine has been used heavily for a couple months, it was very OS out of the box and is now going straight for 80% of the flight before fading on a flat release. My FH upshot went from mediocre to undoubtedly the best part of my game upon use of this disc. Everyone will have different experiences, of course, but personally this is my favorite mold and the mold that has helped me more than any other.

Harps have been a staple of my bag for several years. They're stable enough that they will not turn over no matter how much power you put on them, but they don't just dump out at the end of the flight. Once they're beat in, they have a nice soft fade and they do not skip.

Game-changer for forehand upshots and backhand upshots in windy conditions. No single disc has shaved as many strokes off of my rounds. The Harp will make you view many difficult shots as non-issues once you get the flight down. I don't know how I ever played without it. I bag a BT Hard when I know it won't get bonked, and a VIP for rocky landings or if there is a chance of slamming trees. A word of caution: this disc is deeper than a Discraft Zone and plenty of people comment that they can't get their forehand grip down using a Harp. I have small hands and have never had this problem, but you may want to get your hands on one and flick away for a bit before buying.

This putter is FIRM. It has a very strong fade at the end of flight.

Everyone seems to swear by this as a fore hand upshot/putt disc. I need to try this.

This was in my bag for a while. It just recently left it. I will practice on the forehand putting with this disc... currently I don't have a disc that does this well.

For the price you really cant go wrong with getting this disc.

P.s. If you play in shaded wooded courses don't get the blue version. It is kind of hard to find in dense underbrush.

The Harp is a reliable overstable approach disc that slots between a midrange and a putter and can fill numerous roles in your bag. This disc is about as beefy as they come and will handle the stiffest of headwinds, but even when the winds aren't howling it comes in handy when a reliable fade or big hyzer are needed to get you in circle 1. It can be a bit too stable for normal approach shots so it's best to pair it with something more neutral.

This is my go-to forehand upshot disc although I use it a lot for backhand shots that require the disc to get to the ground quickly. Lots of torque resistance which is great for my forehand. I can max out around 280 ft with this disc after it has been beaten in.

This disc has a perfect wear pattern IMO. Right out of the box it will fly straight for ~50% of full-powered shot. The more it beats in, the longer it will fly straight without having any turn. I've got mine to the point we're it and project straight for a good 90% of the flight.

The Harp is THE forehand putter. It will do just about anything you tell it to, and it's got enough stability to not get away from you. I use it BH occasionally for short overstable shots, but FH is where it shines.

Probably my favorite disc in my bag. Definitely my most used outside of my putting putter. I have really been loving the RHFH approach lately and this disc is a big reason why. I feel like I can put this exactly where I want some 100 to 150 feet away with getting it 230 feet if I need it. Great disc.

The Harp fill's the overstable approach slot in my bag. Though it is somewhat fast for a putter, it dumps quickly. If I could describe this disc in one word, I'd use the word "consistent".  Low glide and a hard fade means that even if you pull your shot a little, it will come back and land closer to where you intended than many other discs. Are you learning forehand, and consistently roll your wrist? While I would recommend fixing this issue by going to a field and throwing neutral/understable discs, if you're on the course and trying to score, try this disc.

Very comparable to a Zone in flight, though the feel between the two is quite different. This disc feels a little different than most, but to me it is very comfortable. I had no problems learning to throw this both backhand and forehand.

The BT Hard Harp will stick to the ground, though not quite as well as the softer BT plastics. I like my discs to retain their shape even after taking some abuse, and I like the feel of the harder plastics, so BT Hard is my go to. If you're looking for a disc that will skip, try the VIP.

I venture to say that the Harp is probably Westside's most notable disc to this point (Thanks Ricky Wysocki). It is a really nice approach disc that has a stable, but controllable flight. I would say the Harp is a little less stable than a Zone, but still plenty stable to fight the find and handle some power. It really handled forehands well with its flat profile and perfect depth for a forehand grip. I also liked backhanding this disc, as its flight was very consistent and easy to range in. I would not use this disc as a putter, it is much too stable for my liking, but a great disc from Westside.

Not much I can say about this disc. I have never used it as a putter, but I use it as a backhand and forehand approach disc around 100-150 feet. Very firm feeling which i enjoy, reminds me of the Elite Z plastic buzz, just more overstable. Disc does exactly what it says it does.

I found the Harp to be too deep for my forehand. I was looking for a nice flat disc, which the Harp is, but I could never throw it well. When pumped out on a forehand hyzer the Harp is overstable and fights to the ground. Where this disc shined for me was on a backhand. I could put a lot of power behind it and always get it to move back left. I have personally found the Discraft Zone to be better suited toward my forehand because of the shallow rim.

This is a great overstable backhand approach disc.  There is no amount of power that can turn this disc over.  It will hold the line you throw it on, and fade right at the end when it runs out of steam.  After using this disc as my primary overstable approach disc for 6 months, playing 3-4 times a week, I have observed that as it beats in the fade will be reduced slightly but the stabiilty through the high speed portion will remain.  Other discs I have thrown that I would compare it to are the Dynamic Discs Slammer, Prodigy PA-1, Discraft Zone.

For me this IS my approach disc. On other shots I find myself thinking about what disc makes sense... but every approach shot, I automatically grab my BT Hard Harp. This is because I can trust the consistent (beat in disc) fade that I get every time. I also like that it works equally well for both backhand and forehand shots.

Wow. In my opinion, The BT Hard Harp in 175G is by far the absolute best forehand approach disc I've ever thrown. The only other disc I feel is similar would be a Slammer.

I never putt with this disc, and I rarely throw it backhand.

Forehand, this disc is perfection. I can crush it for reliable 150 foot approach shots and anything within that range. Put a little bit of anny on a forehand shot that needs to S-curve through the woods and this disc won't immediately burn out. When I've thrown this disc with anny, I've actually found surprisingly little fade due to its low glide. Throw this thing with reliable hyzer and it will hold any line you put it on precisely. It flies far if you put some mustard on it, but has never gotten away from me fading out due to the low glide and modest fade.

If you like throwing forehand approach shots this is the best disc you can buy. Completely changed my approach game.

An amazing, predictable disc overall. I used this for forehand approach shots primarily. I could not even think about my shot, walk up, and park it under the basket anywhere from 100 feet and inward. I'm pretty sure westside placed a magnetic metal throughtout the disc that attracts it to the basket. As far as driving goes, the harp isn't the best at that for me. The rim is rather deep, and it doesn't feel comfortable to me. I prefer a more shallow rim. Getting over that though, I could reliably use this disc for short drives, and any sort of approach shot. If I really wanted to crank on it, the harp would fly laser straight and never think about turning over. But it will still come back at the end for you. I used BT Soft for mostly all of my approach shots as their is not much ground play. I used BT Hard for all of my drives and midrangeish shots. Don't hesitate to try this disc out. You won't regret it overall,

Bought a BT Hard Harp at 174gram weight and am absolutely loving it! Not to toot my own horn but I am what some call a forehand specialist with about 375-400ft of power. I desperately needed a FHBH upshot and short hole disc, and I am so stoked that I added the Harp to the bag. I put a lot of power into my 'flick' and to have the Harp resist the turn over is amazing. Not to mention, I can always count on it to finish right(RHFH).

Bought a Harp in BT Hard at 172g. Was looking for a disc that I could use RHBH off the tee for those holes about 200' and left. I have to put a hyzer on the Harp to get it to fade as much as I want. It's not as overstable as I was expecting. It's still a very good disc, and I still like it, just don't expect a mega-huge fade from it.

The BT Hard Harp is a great disc. OS and reliable. Good into a headwind and really great for upshots that need to finish to the left(RHBH). I use this disc when I can hyzer to the basket and my Warden won't get there. For me its a bit shorter than my OS midrange and I use the Harp when my OS mid is too much disc. Throwers who throw the Harp love them are they are a super reliable disc. If you are looking for a OS upshot putter/mid then look no further. Your game will thank you.

Fantastic disc. I bag 2 of them at the moment (one new and one beat in). The Harp is one of my absolute favorites.  It's an upshot machine. Although I seldom use it for putting, its fantastic on the greens as well.  I will use it on windy day putts and on some longer putts as well, and I use it on these with real confidence.

Really, for any approach shot 175' and in there is a damn good chance that I will at least consider my Harp.  After owning it for a bit I found myself using it for many of the shots that I had always relied on one of my Rocs for.  In addition to FH and BH approaches and long putts, I will throw the harp for RHFH drives with confidence.  It can defnitely handle a lot of power put on it without turning over on you.  Its obviously not the longest thing when used for drives, but it is very trustworthy.

The Harp is a dead straight thrower with a nice predictable fade at the finish.  They do beat in fairly quickly, and lose a bit of their fade, but definitely not all of it.  Once they get nice and beat in for me they throw more like a 4/3/0/1.5+ that is as consistent and predictable as anything I throw.  They're darts when you're trying to nail that approach shot close. They are equally great BH or FH, both finishing with that sweet little baby hyzer.

The BT Hard is pretty delicate.  It's an amazing plastic (feel and performance wise), that just happens to take a beating.  That's the only downside!  I still always reach for BT Hard when I think of buying a new one, with no plans to switch.

I thought the Harp would be more overstable than it is... actually brand new they fade hard, but they break in quickly, especially in BT Hard. I would say it starts as a 3 fade and breaks in to a 2. I also have one in Tournament Plastic but prefer the stiffness of the BT Hard. In BT Hard it also seems to "grab" a little more, getting smaller skips and less movement after it hits the ground.

I love this disc for almost all my approach shots 200' and under. I use it primarily RHFH but it also works great for me RHBH with a fan grip, put it out to the right and let it fade back left. I've also used it to putt into headwind and it works well for that as well. I haven't really used it for driving off the tee but if a hole was the right distance for me I would definitely go for it.

Quick side note- I thought this might be the exact same disc as DD's Suspect but after comparing them side by side the Harp is slightly deeper (taller) and feels more comfortable to me for forehand because of that. Suspect is also more overstable.

I don't putt with this disc.

It is great for upshots.  This is an overstable disc and I can rely on it to fade at the end of its flight, fight out of and anhyzer release and hold a hyzer line.  I can throw it 250' on a hyzer at 80% very consistently.  It is also a great disc for forehands.  It does skip a lot on hard surfaces.

I also love the look and feel of this disc.

This is my main approach disc from 50-100ft for accurate placement RHFH shots. However I throw it- hyzer, straight, anhyzer, it'll maintain it's line predictably.

It's not an exciting disc- I find it's really hard to power this disc. It's can be a decently fast putt/approach disc, but it doesn't need to be. It's incredibly reliable to exactly what it's supposed to be. Great lip size so beginners can get used to powergrip BH shots as well. It doesn't glide as much as advertised, but the plus side is you can torque on this disc and still get the same predictable flightpath.

Just picked up this disc in a search of something not as beefy as my zones and the harp fit the slot! Off the tee pad brand new it will go straight but start fading out. It is a reliable approach disc i mainly use it for backhands but I love it. Not the best putting putter but great for approaches and off the pad. It is also a really straight flying forehand approach putter as well. The hard plastic feels great compared to the bt medium on a hot day. Beginners may like it for a stable putter when just starting off and advanced players will love the reliability!

I bought this Harp on the recommedation of Reddit as well.  I purchased this BT Hard and a soft.  I really enjoy the flight of both of them, but I recommend the Hard for drives and approaches more as it feels less "flexy" coming out of the hand with some power behind it.  Be careful near pavement with it!  We played a round of "goofy golf" with portable baskets at church, putters only.  The BT Hard Harp was pretty chewed up by the end.  I've just ordered a VIP to replace it as the bottom is ripping my fingers up! This is the reason for the 3 instead of 4 stars.

For me the Harp is a workhorse, I call it my rock. I mainly use it for approach shots where I want a consistant straight flight with a reliable fade at the end.  When the wind picks up it also takes on putting duties. The grip of the BT Hard plastic is great even when wet. I also carry a VIP harp for longer approach shots that need a stronger fade at the end. Love this disc.

This is a very workable upshot disc, driving "putter" and wind putter. This is a workhorse type disc, and this or something like this disc should be in every bag. It is great for touch flick shots, flex shots off the tee, powered up tee shots that are straight to fade etc. Great in the BT plastics. I have not used VIP yet so I cannot speak to it.

I finally got a BT Hard Harp after trying a VIP (little too stable) and a BT Soft (too gummy and understable). The BT Hard was the best of both worlds and provided me with the flight I was after; just right! I love Westside's BT Hard plastic. It is much stiffer than the Medium and Soft which gives me a much cleaner release. The BT Hard plastic still has a really nice grippy quality, when matched with the stiffness of the BT Hard, it's perfect.

The BT Hard Harp is still a fairly overstable putt and approach disc. I can rip this disc flat and hard and it won't turn over but will give me a nice strait flight, with a healthy fade. I imagine as this disc beats in, it will get straiter and maybe even give me a little turn, while still having a dependable fade.

Another disc I love to throw is the Zero Hard Sinus. For me the Sinus isn't as far as the Harp, but the Sinus is also a little more understable, but not by much. As my Sinus beat in it became much straiter. I'm hoping as my BT Hard Harp beats in, it will get straiter and give me a little more distance than my Sinus'. The Harp is a great disc and I really recommend trying one out.

just an update: This is a shallow disc, but I am confident with putting with it within 40 ft.  Though i primarily putt with a 350 Pa3.  The BT Hard is very similar to 350 plastic.

If you want this as a thrower, I suggest TP or VIP.   If you are throwing the BT plastics they will get beat up easier....which is why I carry both.  I have a BT Hard that is still in perfect shape after a season of playing with it.  Because Im not throwing it at trees.  Leave that to the VIP, it does not scuff or warp.

My advice, BT for putts, VIP for throws (or TP)

The HARP is a great short range overstable disc.

I carry one in BT Hard for putting duties and one in VIP for throwing.  The VIP seems to have a bit more stability but not an extreme difference.

Flight numbers on this westside disc are actually CORRECT.  Its very comforatable, the BT have a great feel and nice as a putter plastic.  I use this for putts around trees, high loft putts that need to drop down fast, anhyzer approaches that need to flatten.

The VIP is a perfect short range thrower, it handles a forehand, but it's not crazy OS, I can throw with power and it will fly very straight at high speed and have a smooth hyzer fade out.  Again, its not crazy OS, I would say like a glidier, beat in zone.

I use it a lot for short backhands that hold straight and fade hyzer about 10-20 ft from the straight line I put it on.  Nice disc, In my opinion, its more usable than a zone, more glide, not crazy fast, but faster than most putting putters.  Good disc, recommend it

I use a Harp for approach shots. Initially, it was kind of a meathook, but that goes away pretty quickly with BT Hard plastic. The disc itself is shallow for a putter, and one of the flattest discs I've ever seen. It's very easy to throw, and has a strong, reliable fade at the end. I would rate 5 stars if the BT Hard wasn't the least durable plastic I've ever thrown. In less than 2 months of only playing once or twice a week, my Harp is warped, dented, bubble, and flying nearly straight. I have ATTEMPTED to wear in Innova DX plastic this quickly, and failed miserably. I rate the mold 5 stars, and the plastic 2 stars.
