Even though this disc has pretty much the same flight numbers as my Sorcerer, it flies nothing like it! This thing is beefy! It feels great in the hand, and will surely fight any amount of headwind you throw it into. Unfortunately, I left it behind on the disc golf course this week and have not gotten a call back on it yet. Hoping to get her back soon.

The catapult is an overstable/stable distance driver. The wide rim is something I am not a fan of when it is on a 14 speed, it just never feels right to me. But the catapult is a perfect disc if you are looking for something that will have a consistent straight flight with a fade at the end you know is going to be the same every time. This is a great maximum distance driver when a head wind is blowing at you and you want something you can count on to flip up and ride a little to the right but you can trust it to come back. I find that this is a great spike hyzer disc and it will dig in to the ground because of the wide rim. I would recommend this to people who have thrown high speed and wide rim drivers before, because this is not a great first option in my opinion. It is more stable than what your first high speed wide rim driver should be. But if you are an intermediate looking for a consistent disc that will finish with some fade on max power shots, the catapult may be for you.

VIP Catapult 174g - Initial thoughs on this disc after one round at roughly 4,500' elevation: Straight to the bag. This disc isn't as overstable as I was anticipating, which I'm happy about. It seems to have pretty good high speed stability and a decent enough fade to be reliable. I never turned it over but I never threw it at full power. It was really straight for me out to about 350-375' before a nice fade. It reminds me of a new Opto Halo before they pickup some turn or a faster/longer TP Boatman. Time will tell how well this thing holds its high speed stability. It's relatively easy to throw so it won't be a bad disc for any skill level but I'd still stay away from super fast discs if you're a beginner(unless you just like bigger rims). I'm interested to try this in Tournament plastic.

This is a good disc for what it is. Which is an absolute beef cake. for me the stability numbers held true. I loose about 75' to its stability. just a hunky hyzer bomber in my opinion. You'll need a big arm to take advantage of its 14 speed rating. honestly it doesn't really have a place in my bag but if you can crush over stable discs I don't see why you wouldn't try it out.

When I first purchased a vip catapult I struggled to find a usage for it in my bag considering it is less overstable than it says. Flies very similar to a boss but faster, and better in my opinion. Then I realized how well this disc forehands on any line you want to put it on it just bombs. This is by far the furthest forehand disc I have ever thrown. so any hole that I need to go left about 350 or further I will throw a VIP catapult

This disc definitely has a unique rim.  The curve of it feels very different to almost every other wide rimmed disc I have.  I have only throw this with a FH, as my BH is not strong enough for this high speed of a driver.  It gets a lot of turn before it finishes with a smooth and predictable fade.  I have had way more "shanks" with this disc however and I can't figure out if it is from the rim and how it releases or what it is.  I have had some very good distance with it and I feel like I haven't even met it full potential yet.  This is a disc that will easily reach 400 feet for me.

The VIP catapult, in my opinion, is the Trilogy equivalent of the Innova Star Destroyer. Out of the box they are a little more "Boss" like in their stability. As they break in they become a very reliable long range driver with a bit of turn and reliable fade. The VIP plastic is super durable so it takes a while to get it broken in. I would definitely feel confident throwing this disc into head-wind. For me it fills a spot in my bag between the Ballista and Defender. It is definitely not a great disc for beginners. The Catapult is the dark horse candidate for favorite drivers at this moment.

VIP 173. I like this disc, however, it is simply too fast for my armspeed. I'd be willing to bet it gets great lines for someone with consistent 400-450 power. I can't complain with the lines I got with it, but I always feel like I'm not using it to its potential. It is great in the wind and easy to FH or BH with power. I would relate it to being a slightly broken in Giant. The rim is big, but I didn't find it uncomfortable. It eats up distance and is a very workable disc, but I personally have a hard time justifying throwing it a lot when I can get similar, consistent results with a slower speed discs.

The Catapult is a disc that I wanted to love and really tried to. I tend to like fast discs for my distance drives and was excited when I saw this was a 14 speed. The rim on this disc is a lot smaller than I would expect on such a high speed driver and also the rim felt really bad in my hand. The rim has a weird curve to it that just didn't fit my hand the way I wanted it to. The Catapult also didn't fly the way it was supposed to, mine started turning quite a bit after just a couple throws and then found itself in a box in my closet. I hope Westside come out with some more 14 speeds but one with a wider rim and without the curve.

Westside catapult is the new destroyer. For me, this has the Destroyer flight characteristics. Ever since I switched to trilogy, I've been looking for a disc like this. It's great for headwinds, tailwinds, and in crosswinds. Good for long turnover shots when they get broken in.

Terrible rim.  Of all of the trilogy distance drivers this is by far the weirdest/most uncomfortable rim I've tried.  I dont' have a lot of field time in with this disc because I hate the grip so much.  I don't know how do describe it, it's sharp and concave under the rim??? Either way I'd recommend you at least hold this disc before buying it.

This disc is a very reliable disc for very windy shots and also for very hard hook shots I would buy this disc for my friends that are beginners any time.

I picked one of these up for windy play. Its a very flat, smaller rimmed disc, which i like alot. The plasitc feels great, maybe even a better vip than past WS molds. I like the disc and will have it in my bag for downhill s-curve shots, almost like a fresh max weight champ firebird.

I have to start out by saying I rarely rate discs, and even more rare is when I add a high speed driver to my bag after the first day of trial...this disc already made the bag. For reference, I throw trespasses and enforcers as my only distance drivers. For my arm speed a new enforcer gets out to about 330 and a new trespass gets out to about 400. I reference the new discs because this one is brand new. The catapult is about as stable as the numbers say. It is closure to the flight of the trespass but still in between that and the enforcer. I only threw it about 10 times, but on average when thrown flat it won turn just a hair and ride a pretty straight line before in faded out. Out of the times I threw it flat it was between 390 and 420. I was extremely happy and impressed with that distance due to it being new. When it beats in I expect it to flay farther than my beat in trespasses. When I threw it on a big hyzer line in flipped up a bit but finished with a strong hyzer around 350 or so. I absolutely loved this disc. It was predictable and fast which I have not ever found in the same disc. I highly recommend it.

I had the chance to try out a 171g VIP Catapult today. Overall, it is a great disc, but I'm not sure if it will find a place in my bag. I bag a World, and I found the Catapult to be just a little more understable than my World--which isn't bad. The main part of my game where this threw me was in forehand drives. It would turn over a little more than my Worlds, and overall I just had a harder time controlling it. However I know a few players who have found the World to be too overstable, so I think the Catapult will be a nice fit for players like that.

I was throwing a 171g VIP Catapult at about 4,500 feet elevation. I immediately thought the Catapult compared to the Ballista or a slightly less stable World. With a decent throw, released flat, the Catapult would fly strait and finish with a healthy fade.

I have recently been working the Ballista into my bag, and thought these two were very similar. The Catapult has a noticeably smaller rim than the Ballista (even though they are both a 14 speed), and would stand up for me a little longer, but had a little harsher fade.

This disc is stable, but not so overstable I can't get good distance out of it. If I put this disc on an anhyzer, it will hold it for a good distance before fading out. As a forehand disc this is the perfect stability for me. I wouldn't say it's a max distance forehand disc, but its level of stability is enough to get me out of trouble if I release it wrong/roll my wrist, but not so overstable it just crashes.

Overall the Catapult is a fantastic disc. After hearing about the three new Westside molds (Catapult, Longbowman, and Destiny), I was least excited for the Catapult. However, after throwing all of them, the Catapult is now the disc I am most excited about! It serves a great function and works backhand, forehand, and overhand. Definitely check out the Catapult! I am excited to try the Catapult and similar discs at lower elevations to see how they hold their lines.

Familiar feel, flies like a slightly faster and slightly beat in Giant. Once Westside gets a solid - 1 turn speed 14 driver (The King should be a - 2, The Destiny should be a - 3), their warp speed driver line up will be completely on point.

For me this was a big hyzer bomber, without much straight flying to be had.  It pretty much flew like it's flight ratings would suggest- you put a lot of power into it and it takes a nice big arc for you.  Perfect for the long stretches around the woods or lake.  It does take some power to get it out there, so I'd say it's for the bigger arms- sometimes I struggled to get it very far before it flew off left as if distracted by a flying bird...

Great disc if like these high speed drivers!
