I've taken this disc out a couple times. It is a good one, IMO, but not for everyone. It flies as far or farther as any of my long discs, but doesn't look like it will. It's got a little flip-up and nice long glide and a med. big fade. It's not a huge dumpy fade, and not so overstable that it will conquer 20mph winds. This is interchangeable with a lot of other high speed drivers, so it's not necessarily something you need to rush out and try.

The thing I notice about this disc is how tall the rim feels- it feels very tall. If you struggle holding on to discs, this is a good one to try because there's a lot of rim to hold. However it creates a rather large profile/perimieter, so smaller hands may struggle with it even though it's not as wide as other high speed rims. The rim is so different from my other stuff that I actually felt like my fingertips were burning after throwing a quick round with it. I am looking forward to using this in wet and cold conditions to see if the tall rim helps grip under those conditions.

How does it fly? Well, there's a touch of turn and a pretty strong fade. It will go fast and far. I can't tell differences between 12 and higher speed discs. This one goes as far as most anything else with a nice predictable finish. It's got a touch of turn, and will hold anny lines for  a long time before fading out, so it's not all that OS that it will pull right out of it. In fact, whenever I tried flex shots, it worked out well, often not even fading back to center.

The thing I noticed with satisfaction and surprise is that it will, unlike most 12+ speed discs, fly nicely when powered down. I could get a very nice OS fairway type shot wtih just a stand-still snappy release. Medium distance flex shots were easy, too.

This seems a very versatile disc that could be of great service to most players with consistent technique. If you throw 450', it's likely going to be not-so-overstable for you on max power shots.  You'll still be able to use it.

The Catapult was a little bit of a strange disc. The flight numbers Westside put out for it are WAY off. The disc is way slower than speed 14 and also more understable. The Catapult is definitely not flippy, but it will bend right on hard throws. This is NOT a headwind disc and it will turn and burn quick if you throw it into headwinds.

Overall the Catapult is an average driver. It flies in a nice S curve pattern and is easily capable of 400'+ rips. I dock stars from this disc mainly because it flies nothing like Westside's numbers indicate. The glide is average and the disc simply doesn't seem to penetrate that well. I'd put it more in the speed 12 range. Fade is noticeable and abrupt. When the Catapult slows down it looks for the ground fast.

Not a highly recommended disc here. For how this thing flies I think the Sword is a better option. Catapult is a lousy disc for beginners too.

First disc I had in this had a very nice S shape forehand to it, but when I bought my second one it would just flip hard instead of having that nice flight. However my arm speed has increased. I think it is a good forehand disc for people with slower arm speeds.

The best description I have heard of the Catapult is a "mellow Star Destroyer" and I could not agree more. New off the shelf the catapult does feel like a Star Destroyer that has been beaten in, just a little. It fights a headwind well and is a great companion to the Westside Destiny which would flip hard in the same headwind.

This is definitely a driver you need to grow into. Weaker or newer arms may not be able to use this one to its full potential, but once you are ready for it, it will be a great part of your bag.

    Big Time Overap!

I'm not really a fan of the mega-wide rimmed drivers. For one, I have small fingers and find them hard to grip, for two, I can throw decently far but not far enough or hard enough to see any difference in distance between a mega-rim driver and my Swords. However, I love Westside Discs drivers, so when the Catapult was released I had to order me up a Tournament Plastic one in the mid-160s.

Just looking at the flight numbers, I was really curious to see how the Catapult would differ from the Westside World, which I found to be a great combination of glide and stability. After only a few throws, I could tell the Catapult had much less all-around stability than the World. In fact, I was getting a noticeable amount of turn from the Catapult, which really helped me push it for distance. I even busted out a few full 360 turnaround drives that held a huge, high anhyzer. If you have long fingers, I can see this being a good disc for forehand as well. I had a lot of trouble with the forehand grip due to my aforementioned small fingers. The glide on the Catapult was outstanding...sometimes it seemed like it would never come down.

I think for someone with power, and a lot of it, the Catapult would be a great compliment to the World...I think a fresh Catapult flies like a beaten-in World would. But if you don't have a cannon for an arm, this disc is NOT for you. Check your pride and get something slower, because you need a real rip to get this thing to fly.

Was somewhat surprised by the glide on this, none of my other beef discs have anywhere near the glide of this thing. It sails downrange almost like a river, but significantly faster.

First throw of this disc at cottage hill park in mobile al, hole 1, sailed it 275 feet and dinged it off the bottom of the basket.
