Honestly it's worth bagging just for the name and the stamp! INSANE glide and a pretty good amount of turn  makes this one of the easiest to throw and farthest flying mids.

Definitely my go to midrange and approach disc. I am pretty new to the sport, so I get in a lot of odd jams, and the Piwak seems to always bandaid my mistakes. We have a couple tight windows in the woods on a local course and multiple times I've almost aced the throw because it goes so straight. It's also nice to get right handed turns with a some anyhyzer (for RHBH), that will still turn back enough to land soft. Throwing it flat to slight hyzer will keep you going pretty much straight and will help newer throwers balance out weak form as it does for me.

Holy Hyzer Flip!  This disc taught me the beauty of smooth touch.  You can throw this disc flat and it will basically turn and slowly float to the ground.  You can hyzer flip this disc with some power for a super straight shot that is basically on a rope.  You can throw really big hyzer stall shots if thats your thing.  The most important thing about this disc is that it really does glide.  I sometimes laugh at seeing glide bigger than 5 but this disc truly lives up the the glide.

This is the best disc I've found for dead-straight tunnel shots.  On a flat release, it will turn gently almost the entire way, with just a bit of fight at the end (with enough height).  Slight bit of hyzer, and it is a laser.  As far as distance, it is just short of my 9 speeds.  This thing really does have more glide than most.

I own dozens of discs and I'm in love with this one. It holds any line. It exposes any flaw in your throwing motion. It glides for days.

This is the first disc I can put hyzer on and it flips up to flat and glides for quite a while before settling almost completely flat. I can put it on a slight anhyzer and it holds the line beautifully. It is the most controllable disc I have ever thrown.

There is no one who wouldn't benefit from bagging this disc. It is so versatile. If I lose mine I would buy another immediately. I own a lot of RPM discs and this is the best this company has to offer. Do yourself a favor and pick one up. You won't be disappointed.

The Piwakawaka is a nice slightly under stable midrange disc with controllable speed and massive amounts of glide (making it pretty beginner friendly as well).  It can be touchy at times when thrown with lots of power, but once you learn how to use it and are able to get it dialed in, in can become a great companion out on the course.

There is little to no fade in this disc, but it also isn't so under stable to the point of becoming unreliable.  However, if you burn over on it, it is NOT coming back.  This disc works best for gentle backhand turnover shots that you don't want to get away from you, OR the basket.

I would recommend this disc for beginners, experience players looking for a slower disc for backhand turnover shots, or a disc with a ridiculous amount of glide (with a slight drift) when thrown flat and straight.  An excellent choice for all above mentioned situations.

This is easily my favourite disc.  It is perfect for woods play and turnover shots.  Put it on hyzer and it flips up flat and goes dead straight.  A little hyzer and it flips up, turns right, and then finishes left.  If you release flat it will turn right and end that way.  It has become such a reliable disc for those tight gaps or weird lines we sometimes find on woods courses.  Not only that, but this thing glides for days! I would highly recommend this disc to anyone looking for something to bag for the above shots.

Literally everyone needs a Piwakawaka in their bag. It is such a unique one of a kind disc. Try to find another disc with the ratings of 6, 6, -3, 0. You won’t haha. The reason I love it is because it’s SO easy to throw and one of the straightest discs ever. I’d say it’s more like 5, 7, -2, 0. PERFECT disc for beginners and Intermediate players to master their form with and carve up the woods with. Will hold the line you put it on. It’s kind of a cheat code to be honest. You point and shoot and it goes where you tell it to. Scott Stokeley raves about this disc. Whenever I meet new players trying to learn a backhand I give them a Piwakawaka and let their eyes light up when they throw it. Flips up to flat and glides for days. Even more advanced players, when they hold it in their hands they always say how good it feels. Overall a great mid range/slow fairway. Fun and easy to throw. Teaches smoothness, finesse and form. And glides so long.

Oh my! This disc is incredible! I have no idea how I felt comfortable with my bag before having a Piwakawaka or 2 in it! I am currently bagging one Cosmic and one Strata. The Cosmic Piwak is insanely straight. I know it sounds like I am just hyping the brand up but I have literally NEVER seen a disc fly like this one. You throw it soft on a little bit of hyzer and once it flips up to flat, it literally never deviates from that line. I have thrown a lot of discs that fly fairly straight for me but I have never seen one like this. The Piwak seems to glide until it runs out of spin instead of dumping down at the very tail end of the flight. You could literally be 200' - 250' out from someone throwing this disc and literally catch it in the air as it slows down at the end of its flight. I have yet to see another disc that does that and I work at a DG shop so I have thrown a ton of different molds. This disc is so perfect for hitting straight lines and small gaps. My Strata Piwakawaka is more understable than the Cosmic as expected with it being a baseline plastic. I would consider Strata to be more like a stiff KC Pro rather than a bottom of the line base plastic like DX. This thing has hit it's fair share of trees and there are really no major chunks or gashes in it. I am a left handed player and I absolutely love taking out my Stata Piwak on a right to left turning hole. I put it on a slight hyzer and throw it soft and it will stand up and then start turning over. If I throw it just right it will just turn, turn, turn, instead of the normal turn and burn you get out of stable to understable mids. This disc has literally changed my game. In addition to it working out great for an intermediate level player like myself, this would be the absolute best disc in the entire disc golf market to put into a child or beginners hands. They will able to actually see a good straight flight out of this thing within the first round of disc golf. You can't tell me we didn't all want that during our first rounds. Grab yourself a couple Piwakawakas and I promise you won't be disappointed. The last thing I would like to say before closing out my review on the Piwakawaka is GLIDE, GLIDE, GLIDE!!!! My favorite disc in my bag. The name alone is fun, but the disc flies beautifully. I own it in Magma plastic, which is a step up from base. It's grippy enough to putt with and durable enough to not get messed up when it hits a tree (i may have hit one or two in my time). The glide on this disc is great. I throw off the tee and watch it fly straight and far. Pee-wah-kah-wah-kah!

This disc is about as straight as a bullet. And while it took me a little while to master, it has now become one of my favorite mid-range discs.

I'm an intermediate/advanced player with a fast arm speed (RHBH), and at first this disc would turn over to the right pretty hard anytime I threw it with power. But throw this disc on a more hyzer angle, and it will flip up to flat and stay on a slight line with very little fade. It will take some practice to get this release angle down, but once you get a hang of it, this disc can become a versatile tool.

Initially I was a little concerned about this disc weighing 180g, because I really don't own any discs over 175g, but this disc flies farther than some of my control drivers. It is sneaky glidey! Get this disc on a good straight line, and I think you'll be really surprised at how far it can fly.

Given it's flight characteristics, I think this would be a great disc of beginner/low arm speed players. It's easy to keep flat, and less prone to fading out hard on its overstable side.

If you're interested in RPM discs (or Kiwiana in general, like me), this makes for a great all around disc.

I was almost ready to give up on this disc, saying that it just wasn't for me. My arm speed is fast enough that this disc just turns over no matter what I do. Luckily, I played around with it in my backyard, and found out that it is the perfect disc for me.

I'm used to throwing a Latitude 64 Compass, which can handle fast arm speeds without turning over. This cannot, unless you purposefully release it on a sharp hyzer (RHBH) line. Doing this, I could full power grip it and give it a good huck, and the thing beautifully flips up to flat, coasts for 250', then ends its journey with a small fade in either direction depending on the initial speed.

Once I could do this consistently, I realized that this disc can fulfill so many roles in my bag. If I do have a short tunnel ahead of me, I can release this disc ever so softly and watch it drift straight through the air and put me right where I need to be. If I need a straight shot that fades at the end, this disc is the easiest to do it with because throwing on a hyzer (RHBH) angle is much easier than trying to keep it flat. I can easily give myself a long straight flight whenever I need it. I usually throw these shots like I would with a 6 or 7 speed fairway driver.

So far this disc is the only one that I can also get to fade on an anhyzer (RHBH) angle, by throwing it like a speed 9 or 10 driver, it will still immediately flip up to flat, but the extra arm speed makes it turn over at the end of its flight.

I can get all three angles from the same backhand shot just by adjusting my arm speed, this makes this an extremely versatile tool in my bag. It won't replace the Compass, which I can forehand much easier, but it does earn its spot.

Got this disc in cosmic plastic 179 g. This was one of the first discs I used and a go to straight long disc for me. I think more powerful arms would flip it over, but I can pretty consistently get about 250 feet of straight flight with little fade out of this disc.

My wife is learning to play and loves using this disc as well

The Piwakawaka was a very interesting disc for me. Out of the box it was very understable because when I picked it up I thought it felt like an overstable disc. I cranked on it first throw, and was surprised to see that it was very understable. It wasn't until the 4th or 5th throw that I realized what the Piwakawaka is good for.

I was testing in steady winds, and I really only liked it in a tailwind or calm conditions. I really had to power down on the Piwakawaka if I wanted a nice flight out of it. One thing to mention about the Piwakawaka is that it has a TON of glide. Even though I thought it was too understable, only once did I throw a "cut roller" with it. I would flip it over too much and it would still stay in the air and just keep gliding to the right until it hit the ground on an anhyzer to flat angle. My favorite throw with the Piwakawaka was a huge anhyzer. It reminded me of my beat in Mako3's that I use for giant anhyzer midrange shots. I would also compare it to a Pearl, but more overstable and obviously heavier. It reminded me of baseline plastic Claymores or Truths, but a little less stable.

This disc is not a wind fighter. I would never recommend throwing it in a headwind, as I couldn't even keep it in the air with a massive hyzer angle. The Piwakawaka will be affected by the wind, which is something to note when deciding to purchase one.

I would put the Piwakawaka in the hands of intermediate players, new players, and players that don't have a lot of arm speed. I was able to get a dead straight flight out of it when I thew it about 25% power, a percentage that I rarely throw. So naturally it's not a disc that I would be putting into my bag any time soon. I liked how much glide it had and how easy it was to throw even though it was a heavier disc.

I had a hard time saying the name of this disc, so I defaulted to calling it a "Pikachu". But it is a very nice mid-range disc that holds a very straight line. It pulled a bit to the understable side when given some heat, but not in a bad way. It faded back ever so slightly at the end of the flight. All-in-all, this disc traveled right to where I was aiming with little protest. It felt like a less bulky version of the Buzzz, and with the smaller rim size I could see it fitting well into smaller hands (something approaching a Pearl).

I wouldn't try to use the Piwakawaka for curved flights or special turns-- it isn't going to dance for you. But if you want to get from point A to point B in a straight line from 150-250 feet, it works perfectly.

While it's rather difficult for me to say "Piwakawaka" without adding or missing out on a syllable, I really enjoyed throwing this disc. The description says "PDGA approved Approach Disc" but to me this is a midrange driver.

This disc gildes really well and I was able to throw almost perfectly straight throws with it up to about 300 feet. I was getting more distance out of the Piwakawak than the Kahu which was way too overstable for me. On an anhyzer angle the Piwakawaka holds very nicely with a very minimal end of flight. Some throws it never faded out at all but held all the way to the ground.

Cosmic plastic most reminds me of Legacy Pinnacle. Overall the Piwakawak is just a great straight/stable midrange disc. In terms of flight it reminds me of the Latitude 64 Fuse and Westside Warship.
