I love this disc. It does amazing in the woods. It does amazing on open courses. It goes where you want it to. The stamp is beautiful. It's a must have for beginners.

I love this disc.  Put it on a little anhyzer and it will turn right predictably; throw it with a little hyzer and it will turnover to flat and go straight.  With more speed it will do a nice turnover.  It is a very useful utility disc and great midrange/fairway driver.

Unusual disc that straddles the line between mid and fairway. On a decent amount of hyzer, this disc flipped to flat and glided straight forever before softly finishing left at about 325 feet. Thrown flat at anything near full power, the Piwakawaka will probably flip and not recover unless it has serious height. But if throttled back or thrown on hyzer, this disc showcases the 6 glide easily. Not as understable as advertised but would probably be most amateurs straightest disc. The closest analogue I've thrown is probably a beat-in Warship. The Atomic plastic looks great and feels even better.

The Piwakawaka should be every beginners first mid range. Beginners can learn how to throw any line with the Piwak. It has an extraordinary grip and comes in a variety of plastics. The Piwakawaka won't won't what your friends tell you to throw, but if you are new to the game I would suggest you throw one. A disc comparable to the Piwakawaka is the Innova Wombat3.

I picked up one today to try out and it reminds me a lot of a more sleek version of a Comet. Glide for days and extremely controllable. I'm still learning angles, but I've gotten beautiful slow turning shots that just seem to go. That being said, whatever angle I throw it on, it will hold. Another amazing disc from RPM! One of my new favorite manufacturers, hands down!

Another great disc by RPM, this has quickly become my go-to for straight shots around 250', especially in the woods. It is probably a little more understable than its numbers suggest, but not by much. On hyzer, it will flip to flat and ride a couple of feet to the right before landing softly right where you pointed it. This disc is very consistent in its flight whether thrown on 75 or 100% power. It always just wants to go straight with a little bit of turn. Overall, great point and shoot disc with great glide.

Lots of understable mids on the market, but most of them aren't very controllable. In Atomic plastic this disc flies similar to a Fuse, with perhaps a bit more low speed stability. Also reminds me of a Leopard or FD or River. It is a long mid, and where the Fuse flies slow and has lots of glide, the Piwa is faster. I'd rate it a speed 6 (Leopard-like). Unlike a Leopard it powers down really well- 50% power will still produce a slight turn. After some fieldwork this disc has promise to make my bag, especially because it seems to be a bit more consistent than my Fuse (which I've had in my bag for a decade) and feels better in my hand (inside rim isn't as angled as in the Fuse). Plastic is awesome.

My favorite disc ans great for hzyer flips short for those with a slower hand speed. The atomic plastic is a bit more stable than cosmic making it great for  holding any line you put it on.

I'm new to disc golf and was looking for an understable mid specifically for turnover shots, and the Piwakawaka filled that role perfectly. I expected this shot shape to be touchier, but it feels very natural with this disc. When thrown flat and not too hard it starts out straight, then turns right very smoothly before gliding long and straight the rest of the way. It immediately started saving me strokes on holes where I didn't know what to do before.

As others have said it's more understable than the numbers say, and I don't think it really fades at all. I also tried the Tursas and Stari, but the Piwakawaka works best for me. The Atomic plastic also feels and looks great, and the stamp is beautiful. Love this disc.

RPM has another hit in this disc! So, to me it feels a little deep like a frisbee, which kind of makes sense considering the companies affinity for throw and catch lids. With an ultimate frisbee background, I found it very comfortable in the hand. The beauty of this disc is that it is insanely easy to throw. If you throw it flat you will get unbelievably straight lines out of this thing. It will absolutely be the answer to your tunnel shot needs, and like I said it is very comfortable in the hand so you will get a great consistent release from it.

Where I found this thing really show me advantages in my game is when I started to throw with it on an anhyzer line. I had popped from disc to disc trying to see what I could use to get a nice consistent reliable 250 foot anhyzer line out of. My local wooded courses have a great many holes that require these shots, and I had to put in a lot of work with a lot of discs in order to stay competitive on these holes. This disc holds that line and finishes not with a spike into the ground, but with a forward slide, exactly what I was looking for.

Do yourself a favor and get this in Atomic or Platinum. This plastic is like star, gold line, tournament, fuzion, that kind of thing. Except it is honestly even more grippy and durable. In my opinion it is the best plastic I've ever come across!

I got one of these from a friend who had been in New Zealand, and it was a really great gift to get. Usually I only carry one midrange, something like a Roc, Yao or Bard. Slowish, semi overstable and with that classic straight to fade flight. This doesn't do that.

Thrown backhand on a mild hyzer it flips up to flat and drifts right just a touch and then has an almost imperceptible fade back to net 0. A nearly perfectly straight flight.

And with it's above average glide, it goes pretty far as well. I've parked a couple of 330-350 holes with it, once found it leaning against the pole.

Probably wont become a stable in my bag, but some of the courses I play with tunnel shots... well, I finally have a good answer for them.

The aesthetic of the disc is very good as well, very cool stamp of the bird it's named after, as well as the beautiful swirly metallic Atomic plastic.

It feels very good in hand, a lot like a leopard got mixed with a stingray. The smaller rim is easy to grip for most players, and with it's low fade flight can throw well for almost all of them as well.

I also threw my fiends in the base plastic(strata I think) and it felt amazing. Really soft and grippy, but sightly less stable.

Love this disc. For me intermediate female player I find this a mainstay in my bag. Its flight has been extremely constant for me. I noted a lot of people found it understable, For me It was slightly understable but also faded back left in mid line when thrown backhand. I use this more than my buzz now as it always comes back for me. I love the feel of the plastic in my hands and have no problems with grip in summer or winter playing. I have become quite attached to RPM and am loving their line. Additionally for all those out there struggling to same the Maori word , in english it is fantail. like most of their disc named after a native New Zealand bird.

First I need to say that I am a discgolfer that loves either a little under-stability, or a lot to some of his discs. There is an issue with my shoulders that doesn't allow me to flick comfortably many times a round, so I go looking for discs with a touch of under-stability. So lets get down to brass tacks on this one. This is probably one of my favorite discs I have ever thrown. The plastic is gorgeous. Almost looking like MVP Plasma, but the disc I got was a bit more stiff. Upon using it in a round I could feel it softening to a more managable stiffness.

The absolutely beautiful part about this disc is the glide. I have never seen another disc with this much glide on a standard throw. When I throw the piwakawaka I can expect it will go maybe 20-30 ft farther than any other counterpart in my bag. It will generally ride an anheiser route right out of my hand, but only ever so slight. This thing can travel. Once you really are able to dial it in, I can see this being a mainstay in most anyone's bag.

Where to start - well right out of the package the weight (179g) seemed very true and evely distributed and after putting it on the scale it was right on the money - so job well done to start with.

After throwing a few rounds with this disc I found my self replacing my Axiom Theory and Buzzz GT in most scenarios.  This disc IS slightly under stable but can be controlled on a straight line for AT LEAST up to 250 feet.  Used on several tunnel shots (where I typically throw my MVP Volt) and performed beautifully.

Overall so far I'm very impressed - It glides well ad consistently and will be a great addition to my tournament bag.  Will update with further use.
