The Kea is a small-diameter, overstable midrange disc. It is a great choice for short, accurate, predictable drives off the tee or for upshots when you need to fight wind and hit the green with ease. It is also a perfect choice for forehand drives and power backhand throws.

Wow. The lines and things you can do with this disc is unreal. This disc has a big bite to it and it will fade. You can full power this thing on steep anny's and it will come out pushing straight and still fade. My go to for for upshots and shorter drives that can dump out.

Definitely my favorite overstable approach disc I've tried! Flight: very similar to a zone, maybe holds straight a touch longer before dumping. Feel: depth is similar to a zone but it has a very unique blocky rim that (IMO) makes it quite a bit more comfortable. Highly recommend in both cosmic and atomic, cosmic being a bit more OS and atomic being more workable.

The Kea fills quite a few spots in my bag.  It is my approach disc within 200ft, its my overstable midrange slot, and I also am guilty of putting with Keas (ocassionally).  I tend to find that this disc glides more than the 3 gives it credit for, especially with some power behind it.  The Kea has a very unique feel that is very comfortable for me.  I would say its shallow and a little bit chunky.  As weird as it all sounds, it is the most important disc in my bag and has saved me countless strokes out on the course.

Many are comparing this to a zone or harp or tactic. I would say they are similar but different enough to gain recognition on its own. I bag a harp But I only throw it backhand. I have never been all that consistent with a forehand approach. That is until I got one of these. It just feels good in the hand throwing forehand.

    I highly recommend.

Went thru Zones, Harps and Tactics and FINALLY found the Kea. Wow. Not only is it a really cool bird in real life (look up some youtube videos about this land-dwelling, carnivorous parrot), it's an amazing approach disc. Super reliable and beefy in the Cosmic and Atomic. Straighter longer in the Strata and Magma. I use this for FH approach shots and it always goes right where I tell it. Don't have to worry about turning it over. And don't have to worry about a headwind. It's like a get out of jail free card. And the more I beat it in I can even use it for BH drives off the tee. I also use my beat in Magma for headwind putts. So money.

The Kea is an overstable putter/mid. Very reliable approach disc in the wind whether backhand or forehand. Kea has the feel and stability of an Innova Gatorade and Prodigy A3.

I got a Kea in Cosmic and one in Magma Soft. They both feel great in hand, but the Magma Soft plastic is particularly great. That said, the Kea doesn't do anything my Mako3s don't, and the Mako3s do it better IMHO.

Mine also didn't throw as overstable as I expected. It's possible the plastics I got just fly less stable, but these won't be staying in my bag. The Mako3 has that spot covered.

This was one of the first discs I purchased and I hated it out of the box. It would dump so fast for me and felt unthrowable because it was so stable.

After many months of playing, I LOVE this disc. It's stable enough to handle a fair amount of torque and fights wind so well. It offers the stability of a stable fairway at the speed of a mid. It's extremely comfortable to throw with a power grip. I mostly use this disc off the tee into a direct headwind on a shorter hole or headwind upshots. Really controllable.

No complaints with the Kea. RPM discs are so unique, that they are hard to compare to other company's molds. The Kea is over stable, but not too much that you feel like its just going to dump. It will hold straight and have a reliable finish, and as always RPM plastic is amazing in the hand!
