The F1 is the most overstable of the Prodigy fairway drivers. This disc is currently available in the quality series 400 plastic, and utilizes Prodigy’s easy release technology. Prodigy describes the F1 as a “medium speed, significantly overstable fairway driver with predictable controllable flights.” This new disc will excel in all wind conditions and will work well for overhand tomahawk and thumber throws.

After trying out a few of the F-series discs from Prodigy, I would say the F1 is probably their best workhorse fairway driver type disc.  Mine is in the 400 plastic and it is not nearly as overstable as the flight numbers suggest.  Out of the box it has a noticeable flip-up and turn, with good glide and a mellow fade.  To me it flies like a beat in Eagle or Exodus.  It feels good in the hand, has a normal depth and the smaller fairway rim feels good.  I like that it has some turn and flips up easily from a hyzer but still has enough stability to have it hook up at the end.  Good teebird-like fairway from Prodigy, just note it flies pretty different from its flight numbers.

Not as overstable as advertised with most runs that's I've thrown. However the flight is so straight and pure. My F1's fly dead straight with no turn and have a consistent fade at the end. Prodigy's TeeBird equivalent I think.

Extremely solid workhorse overstable disc. It is a modern day Banshee, consistently overstable and a go to overstable fairway for those people who just can't quite handle a Firebird.

The 500 Kevin Jones Signature F1s I have (KJUSA!) are both quite flat. Like most modern OS fairways, they knife through the air. However, despite the flatness they have a bit more glide than most of their modern day counterparts, which is what reminded me of a Banshee.

This is a slot I am still trying to nail down, but for now, the F1 has it. Consistent, predictable, and it does not overpower me or sacrifice too much distance on the shots I need it for.

Let me get this out of the way, if you're looking for a hyper stable fairway speed disc look elsewhere (FX-2 for me).

When I first started throwing prodigy I was looking for exactly that and was a bit disappointed in the F1. Once I realized that this disc will never be what I originally intended, we got along great.

The F1 is a great control driver. Thrown with 400' of power behind it expect it to flip hard. Throw it with 300' of power and you get consistent, small amount of high speed turn and reliable fades. I love the F1 for touch forehands and shaping shots that need to finish left. In 400 plastic they tend to beat in quickly and will become flippier, but then you have another F2 and that's not a bad thing. If you're looking for a fun fairway it's here.

I wish I could give this 4.5 stars. It has a place in my bag. This is a solid fairway driver that slots in as my OS fairway. I also use this as a stable/OS distance driver when I can't afford to go too far or need a dependable fade. 70% power it will go dead straight, dependable fade. 100% it will turn over for an extra 50 ft and fade dependably. Great for spike hyzers too.

*Note about me as a player to help this review be most clear: I am 'intermediate" skill level, usually drive around 275 +/- 25 feet. I throw right handed. Hopefully this allows you to compare to yourself better and please keep in mind what point of view my comments are coming from.

This is a reliable disc to throw forehand. I occasionally throw it backhand when I need a sharp hyzer, but otherwise this is my go to forehand off the tee. Being a fairway driver, naturally it doesn't bomb, but it is going to do what you want it to. Very good feel in the hand and feels natural when throwing.

I was really impressed with Prodigy's F1. It is a nice overstable fairway driver that is relatively easy to control. The F1 has a nice flat-top and comfortable rim, making it very easy to release. The flight is relatively straight with some heavy fade at the end. The fade is not a dumpy fade like a Firebird, but more of a forward fade like a Banshee. The fade is pretty accurate to the flight numbers, but that helps make it easy to control the distance. This disc was also really great for forehands. Awesome Disc.

Edit: 3 years in, 400 ft of distance. The F1 is a good overstable fairway driver. A slower firebird. Good for those types of hard finishing shots.

I've only been playing about 6 months, and I've recently been spending a lot of time working on my forehand. This is my go to forehand disc. It corrects my bad form and gives me a shot that is useful. It's also my go to fairway driver. I can put this out about 280 feet and it gives a very consistent smooth flight. Probably my favorite disc.

Just picked this disc up a couple days ago and after doing some field work with it I have to say this thing is a more stable teebird. Not as much fade as a firebird but it is a nice filler disc in the bag. I like it for flex forehand shots and even flex backhand shots. Not really beginner friendly because of the amount of fade but a good disc for an advanced player to try.

I have a 174g 400s F1 that has been in my bag around a year now and I love it. I originally purchased it for fairway distance forehand shots, but as my back hand game has improved this disc has become a favorite for back hand shots I need to finish left. I can get pretty good distance out of my F1, hitting 275' to 300' consistently. Love Prodigy discs.

This disc is real handy in those tough left turn situations. I've also been able to get a pretty good line on it when thrown with a pretty high amount of speed. Another great feature is the amount of skip I can get on it. Once it hits the ground more than likely you can get a pretty good skip out of it. Is it a go to? I would have to say probably not, but the utility of this disc is what keeps it in my bag. In addition the plastic holds up reallllll nice!
