The D3 is the thinnest disc in the Prodigy distance driver line, with a height of just 1.7 centimeters. Like the D1 and D2, this is another ultra-fast driver with a 2.3cm wide rim. The D3 is said to be a stable-flying driver with incredible glide. Prodigy recommends this disc for hyzer flip shots, but it's stable enough that it’s not going to turn over on powerful throws.

Reading reviews on the D3, it appears this mold has some fairly serious inconsistencies. The one I have is an X out 174g. It flies more or less how the numbers dictate. It has some noticeable high speed turn on hard rips, but seems at least somewhat resistant to total flipping. Its a hyzer flip monster capable of 450' drives fairly easily. On the course it was hanging with or even somewhat surpassing the G* Shryke I carry for pure distance.

I'd liken this disc to a Shryke. Same general flight characteristics. Some high speed turn and superior glide (the 6 rating here is legit). I can't really speak to the mold inconsistency, but if you get a D3 that flies true to specs it'll absolutely bomb. Not a headwind disc. Great for calm or downwind conditions.

    174g 400g. X out

I have the same opinion as another reviewer. Super OS. This is less responsive and more OS than the  D2 I bought at the same time.  I'm not likely to use this and am sorry I bought it. On paper this should fly like a crank. This one doesn't. A lot of people love their D3s. I must have got a dud.

Alternatively, this could be like me and the F3. The F3 turns to much for me when I put anny on it, and not at all when I don't. It fades hard,so I'm confused when I expect it to fly less stable than the 2's.  I'll stick with the 1-2-4 in the D series like I do in the F's.

I absolutely love the feel of the 400G plastic in the hand. The D3 for my arm is a great disc for maximum distance finishing in the middle of the fairway. You can put this disc on any kind of line and it will bend over to your whim. Hyzers, annies, a center cut punch. I love this disc. Definitely give it a try.

You can make this disc do it all! I started my backhand journey along with serious play back in January of this year (2016).  I bough this disc at 157 grams and it is still in my bag. Once beaten in and your arm (beginner) develops into a spin machine you can keep this disc as a nice long turnover driver or just an absolute hyzer flip bomb for show! I keep mine just to practice those occasional 360 drives or the massive sky hyzer shots.

I also enjoy the lightweight on days with a steep tailwind and maybe a downhill to slight down hill shot... throw it up high and watch it go! The 400g plastic keeps the stability of this stable series but the light weight allows for more variance in shot selection. Ever throw UP hill? 450 feet now looks like 650 feet... go lighter up hill! It works!
