The D3 is the thinnest disc in the Prodigy distance driver line, with a height of just 1.7 centimeters. Like the D1 and D2, this is another ultra-fast driver with a 2.3cm wide rim. The D3 is said to be a stable-flying driver with incredible glide. Prodigy recommends this disc for hyzer flip shots, but it's stable enough that it’s not going to turn over on powerful throws.

I'm not a big rim guy, and I also don't have the arm speed for big rim fast discs. That said this disc flies 12/6/-1/2 for me, that's on a hard nose down flat to slight anny release. But I could easily see why people say it's -2/2

-Reviewing in the 400 plastic- out of the D1, D2, and D3, the D3 is my favorite prodigy distance driver that I've tried. This disc does have a wide rim, but the flight of it is a great combination of glide and stability. Full power throws backhand or forehand, it bombs with a slight s shape and fade. It even holds up well in the wind. Very underrated driver imo

I have a 400 D3 that I got used so this review is more for the D3 when it gets beat in. The D3 is definitely an understable thrower but especially when it gets very beat in. I am able to hyzer flip to a turnover that will only come out of it if there is a lot of air under it or a tail wind. I was expecting the disc to fight back after the flip up but it never did and just likes to ride really far. I think by adding more hyzer I will find something that bombs with a full S-flight. I think a fresh D3 will be a lot more stable but still will be able to get some flip based on me throwing this with a slower speed. I would recommend the D3 to anyone who is not a power player and more intermediate players who need to utilize the discs flight to get that extra distance. I love the feel of the D3 in the hand, and the 400 plastic is up there for my favorite premium plastic. If you need something you can beat in to get a great full S-flight, look no further than a D3 and if you have big distance come to the D3 for some great hyzer flip to anhyzer holding bombs.

Pretty good disc, it has a very wide rim so if your hands are pretty small I'd look elsewhere. A note for beginners, I have a 350 avg arm with some extra distance if the throw is good. When I got the D3 it was a meathook. However, it beat in pretty good to a hyzer flip disc. I'd recommend if you have avg to slower arm speed. To get this in 400 plastic. If you get premium plastic you'd likely won't get the desired flight path for a long time if ever.

I loved that the fade was reliable, even with the amount of turn I'd put in it. It would always fight out and fade. That being the case I found rollers none achievable.

In the end, a very good all around disc. One of the few I got close to 400ft. Hopefully it can suit you just as well.

The D3 is my go to do-it-all distance driver in my bag right now. It can be a touchy disc to learn to throw, but once I figured it out I was amazed by how I could manipulate the angles on the D3 for long distance bombs. This disc is capable of so many things, and I feel it has gotten better with use. I would consider the D3 to have the perfect amount of understability. I can release it on hyzer and let it flip up to flat, and I can always trust it to not turn over too much. I would compare my D3 most closely to an Innova Star Shryke, but I find my D3 to have less of an S-curve flight, and instead will flip up and glide straight for most of its flight. I have also found the D3 to be really fun to throw spike hyzers with, as unlike the majority of my other discs, I can launch this disc on a steep hyzer and it will still flatten out at the peak of its flight to get added distance, while always maintaining its stability and finishing left. The thing I love most about the D3 is its uniqueness in its stability, as I have yet to find another disc that I can reliably throw at full power for big distance, and always count on it to flip up, glide straight for days, and still fade out and finish left. I think the flight numbers are spot on here, and I don't see the D3 leaving my bag anytime soon.

The advertised flight numbers are close to how it flies. The difference is this one will go through the flight cycle faster than my other distance drivers. Most of my distance drivers turn slowly but steady, then slowly straighten out, then fade at the end of the flight. This one does a massive S turn really fast. When thrown flat, it turns over really fast, then starts fading back to fast my other distance drivers do. It gets similar distance to my tenacity and corvettes, but it takes up more airspace with the wider and accelerated S turn. This quick turn then fade also hurts this disc on its hyzer flip capabilities. The quick initial turn sometimes turns too much, and when you release it just right to get the flip to flat throw, it starts hyzering out too quickly.

There is always a hole that tends to match the flight path of a certain disc best, even the discs that don't gel with you that much, I have yet to meet that hole as of now with the D3.

I've never really owned a lot of Prodigy discs, but the company continues to grow on me.  One of the reasons is the D3.  This disc just does something for me.  I don't know if it's the feel or the plastic, but I love it.

I've owned 2- a 170g 400 I bought earlier this year and a prototype run (in what I think is 400, I don't know as I found the disc) 169g.  The prototype run is considerably more understandable.  I can put it on decent hyzer (RHBH) and it will flip up and hold for days.  I can throw the newer one more flat and it will turn over for a long time, and have a moderate fade at the end.

I can also throw the new one pretty well forehand.  I find that if I throw it low and hard on significant hyzer it will turn over nicely with a gentle fade.  I've noticed they are more torque resistant than most of the distance drivers I've thrown (specifically the Innova Tern, which has the same flight numbers).

This will help anyone who has solid form and can drive around the 400-450 range.  It isn't my absolute maximum distance driver, but for any shot shaping I need, I'll grab this over all the other distance drivers in my bag

I would start by saying that the D3 is the driver I reach for when I have an open fairway and minimal wind. I rely on it for long drives. When an F series won't quite get there the D3 definitely will. In 400 plastic it will beat in relatively fast and become more flippy. I bag 2 one of which is newer and more true to its mold, which is the subject of this review. For a thrower with 350' of power; expect long, beautiful s turns. The D3 can reach out and touch 475' when thrown well and almost seems to speed up after it flips over. a great distance driver that i would say is comparable to a Shryke.

The D3 is my open field bomber and the longest disc in my bag. For me the plastic type and run of this disc make a huge difference. The first one I got was very flat so the glide and distance suffered. It wasn't until I got an extremely domey one that I realized how good this disc is. The domier the better! The plastic also has a huge effect on the stability of the disc. For me 400 is the sweet spot. It is just understable enough that I can release it on a slight hyzer at full power and get 450' max with a nice S flight. I have found stability comparison to be 400g<400 Spectrum<400<750. My 750 D3 is more overstable than my 400 D1s.

I got my D3 from a tournament because it looked nice.  It was also a bowl.  No joke.  I could almost eat cereal out of this disc.  If I had ever seen a 7 glide distance driver, I might be able to call it seven glide.  I would say that this disc is 12 or 13 speed.  You would think it should be like a Shryke or another high speed, glidey flippy, disc.  This thing is crazy overstable.  It flies pretty much like my Opto Ballista pro.  Except much more glidey.  At the beginning when I got this it was much to ovestable for me.  I then got a nasty habit of throwing anyhzer on full power drives and put this disc in my bag.  Today there was a headwind so I threw my D3.  Wow.  Once I get the armpower for this disc it is going to be amazing.  The moral of this story is that my D3 is way more overstable than the flight numbers.  I reccomend this disc for you if you want something around maybe a destroyer, but you need mucch more glide.

VERY overstable even in headwind. I flick hard and can get Sheriff, Shryke, D2, Destroyer, and Wraith to turn. This one won't. Acts like my Fireball.

This is a great straight flight distance driver with excellent glide. This disc flies 30 feet further than the rest of my bag. It’s flight is  so predictable. It gives me great confidence on the course. If I have to go long, I grab a D3.

I don't know why, but this disc was ultra-overstable for me.  Based on the flight ratings, it is not supposed to be that way.  Maybe it was a production error, but I won't buy another one.

I love this disc, the first time I threw it backhand I got a 2 on a 400 foot hole. It's a great disc if you got to throw a straight line between trees, it is stable to understable. The D3 is the thinnest disc in the prodigy drivers which I like because then it is easier for me to throw. The disc flies to stats and I would recommend this disc to anyone that wanted it.

Right out of the box the D3 was my favorite highspeed driver. I could throw it as hard as I could and it would always fade back to the left. After bagging it for about 3 months now it has definitely beat in. I now have to really control power when I am throwing and I am fine with that because this discs goes a ver long ways. It is my perfect disc for hyzer flips.

D3 in 400s max weight is an overstable driver for me in a backhand. I can't get the true flight with my RHBH as I don't have a big arm. I normally throw 350+ consistently these days though with my destroyer, lace and D4. I use this disc for sidearm throw. When new it was darn good for side arm which would produce no turn. Now it's slightly beat up, and it turns a a good bit (like -2 to -3). I threw couple RHBH recently and it seemed to take a true flight path as mentioned above. May be this disc needs a little time to get seasoned for an intermediate thrower like me. I don't recommend this disc for beginners.

My D3 is 170 grams. I cannot get this disc up to speed on backhand throws, so I will be primarily using it for big sidearm drives and headwind backhand throws. When I throw the D3 sidearm, anhyzer releases will sometimes flip over too much into the ground. I haven't figured out how to give it enough air to flex out of that turn yet. On flat flicks, I usually get a smooth turn, big distance, and a consistent fade back to the right. I can also get some nice skip sidearm drives if I keep the D3 low and rip it hard. It will go straight for about 250 feet and then stable out and skip hard right. Overall, not a beginner's disc and requires a lot of power to be thrown correctly. I should really like this disc for big sidearm drives, but I probably won't be getting too much use out of it. I'd rather stick to my D1 for flicks.
