The D3 Max is a modified edition of the D3. Players will find the D3 Max slightly more understable than the traditional D3, allowing newer players to get more distance, and more advanced players to have a seasoned driver right out of the box. The D3 Max will hold the line and get that extra distance.

    500 Details

500 Plastic was development over a considerable period of time to formulate a blend based upon player feedback. It has a stiffer, less gummy feel than 400 Plastic. The 500 blend provides an extremely confident grip on the firm, yet flexible flight plate. It also provides a very solid feeling rim.

Pretty flippy and fun, goes really far too. My only problem is that the rim depth is small and the rim feels pretty wide for a 13 speed, still a great understable driver similar to a tern.

I am kind of disappointed in this disc. Out of the box it was great and had a reliably stable flight with little to no turn (I live at high elevation so everything flies more stable). After about a month in my bag, the disc had warped quite a bit. Now the disc can't make up its mind. It is still pretty stable but any headwind and it just turns over like a roller. Not reliable for me as a go-to distance driver.

I have this disc in 400G plastic at 173 grams. I was a bit of a sceptic before trying this disc not knowing if I was going to like it, but I am glad I was wrong. I figured it would be a bit difficult to throw considering the fact that it's a higher speed, but I bought this on a whim when I found success with my D4. This is one of the best understable distance drivers I have ever thrown and it is great for max distance shots because of the long pan it may give. It can hyzer flip with the right arm speed and fly straight for a long time too. On a hyzer, it flips up and rides that angle for a long time. On anhyzer, it sees its biggest distance by panning out slowly while biting off great distance before coming back on a nice subtle fade while still finishing understable. On a flat shot, there is an s curve shown as well. It's probably not a great disc for beginners, but it may show its worth for people with more developed arm speed.

I have a 400g D3 Max and dang this thing can go far. I bought this expecting it to be a little on the flippy side and it is no meat hook but it has a good amount of stability. I can get this thing to flip up to flat if thrown on a baby hyzer and max power. If I throw it flat I usually can get a really nice long s flight and it definitely pushes the furthest out of any disc I have right now. My furthest throw ever recorded was a 386' with a crank ss and one of the first max power throws I had with it easily reached that and might have pushed close to 400'. I do not expect that I will be throwing 400' consistently with it, but I know this is my furthest throwing disc in my bag. I really enjoy it because it is stable so without a big head wind you won't need to worry about it turning and burning on you. Most discs I have thrown for max power up to now have been very flippy and when a head wind starts you can't throw them. But with the D3 Max you can trust this disc into headwinds that aren't super fast. I suspect as this disc beats in I will have something more in the hyzer flip area which excites me. I believe even when it beats in that it will be able to have just enough finish to make it a very usable disc for most intermediate players and even some advanced. I do not recommend this as a disc for beginners but once you are able to start throwing high speed drivers, the D3 max will be a great stable distance driver that will work nice in any intermediate to advanced player.
