The Prodigy D1 is an overstable, ultra-high-speed driver (speed 13 using the Innova system). Like all very high speed drivers, the D1 has a thick (2.3 cm) rim. While the rim is considered thick, it isn’t maximum PDGA width. The width is the same as discs such as the Innova Krait and Westside King. While the D1 is overstable, it isn’t a “meathook”, or one we would classify as “very overstable.” The D1 is a fantastic driver for power throwers, windy shots, forehand throws, and strategic doglegs.

    166g 500 Ultra Soft D1

Love everything about this disc. As my normal drives are typically between 340-380, this disc serves as my reliably OS driver. While I have previously cycled discs in and out of this slot, this disc is exactly what I was looking for in this slot. Sufficiently overstable yet still useful enough to be more than a utility disc. I love the fact that you can find it in something lower than max weight. And I LOVE the feel of Prodigy's new ultra soft plastic.

Despite the speed and rim this disc rarely skips much. That is very useful since I typically use this disc for placement shots that I want to sit and not skip off into something unpleasant. While I am backhand dominant, the feel for FH is fantastic. My FH is improving but I often still have too much flutter. The ultra soft plastic removes the flutter almost immediately. Despite the stability the disc will still push and glide nicely. Overall, I could not be happier with it.

    I believe the flight numbers are spot on:  12 / 5 / 0 / 4
