The Prodigy D1 is an overstable, ultra-high-speed driver (speed 13 using the Innova system). Like all very high speed drivers, the D1 has a thick (2.3 cm) rim. While the rim is considered thick, it isn’t maximum PDGA width. The width is the same as discs such as the Innova Krait and Westside King. While the D1 is overstable, it isn’t a “meathook”, or one we would classify as “very overstable.” The D1 is a fantastic driver for power throwers, windy shots, forehand throws, and strategic doglegs.

Can do just about anything with this disc. Flex shots, big Hyderabad, this disc can do it. Reliably finishes left every time.

    Disc - 173 400 D1

Feel - First, Prodigy's plastic feels so great in the hand. The D1 has a wide rim but fits nicely in the hand.

Flight - The D1 is a great distance driver that is consistently overstable driver that still gets good distance. It has good glide but does not turn at all. It fights the wind well as well but does not hold up to super headwinds.

Overall - Great distance driver from prodigy, similar to a force from Discraft but in my opinion better feeling plastic.

I absolutely love this disc. To preface i hated this disc before it became beat in a touch. It used to be the most overstable disc in my bag bu has quickly became one of the straightest now. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a straight flyer!!

I like the D1. Plain and simple. Im6 not as fond of it as say maybe my Destroyer or my Firebird but it's a solid disc. My experience with it may be a little different than most. When I first got it it was everything you would expect out of a D1. It was very beefy and it took me a while to get the hang of it but once I did I used when I needed a sharp fade on long to medium distance throws. Now when I started to throw it more it got beat in quickly like it took a week! Which I didnt think was possible especially in the 400g plastic. That is some good stuff but nevertheless it is now as flippy as my wraith!! My thought is this; my D1 only weighs 159g so I'm thinking that it just beats in faster with a lighter mold. Love the plastic, good disc. Can launch it over 400' ft now RHBH and RHFH because of how understable it got which is cool with me but some of yall might not like that so buy a heavy one if you want to keep the over stability of this disc.

I got a 400G plastic D1 at around 160g for free in a tournament. I really like this disc for backhand drives where I can rip on it to flip it up to flat or slightly turn and then come right back down with that ~2 fade. I don't really care for tossing this disc forehand but maybe I just have to practice with it more. I have to admit it feels good and has a great flight, overall a great go to distance driver.

This is a great disc for someone with 400+ distance. A great disc backhand or forehand. 400G plastic feels amazing in the hand and has exceptional grip in all weather conditions.

The 400g D1 is an all around amazing distance driver. Its use should be primarily for distance throws 350ft+. It’s 400g plastic provides great grip and durability. This disc is stable, allowing more room for thrower error. It’s stability holds up well throughout the life of the disc and they never usually beat in to the point where the discs flight significantly changes.

This discs was given to me by a local player sponsored by Prodigy after we played a round together and I mentioned my interest in a few of their molds. I was a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to throw it very well because of the high speed (for me at least) and over stability. After only a few throws I was already able to notice how easy and smooth the release was for the D1. It just seemed to slide right out of my hands at the right time. It was honestly the first time I had experienced something like that with a high speed driver. The D1 is very over stable, but with the smooth release I am able to get it up to speed and get a very constant and predictable flight out of it. It reminds me a lot of my Star Destroyer, but honestly smoother.  On a windy day this has become my go to distance driver due to its ability to fight through and stay predictable.

This is a decent disc. It is the most overstable disc in the Prodigy line up. Would recommend to all advanced throwers.

If you have 400+ feet of power and looking for a driver you can mash on without fear of it turning and burning, look no further.  Beginners that haven't quite mastered the angle of release will struggle with this disc, but let it fly flat or with a bit of anhyzer and this thing will absolutely go. It's plenty overstable, but the stable finish isn't a dump; as the speed runs out the 400G D1 fades forward and doesn't skip uncontrollably.

This disc changed my life. It brings distance to my drives and is my go to for long holes.

Rip this thing and it will fly straight, tilt it for a nice long S line.

I haven't made an ace yet, but this disc sure loves to ping the crown.

4.5 star would be my real rating.  Great OS disc.  Very consistent, great plastic.  If you have a decent arm and are looking to try out Prodigy this should probably be your first one to try out.  Unless you have AT LEAST 325 ft power this is too much disc for you though. More of a high int or adv level disc.

Hands down my favorite distance driver. I've bagged and thrown a 171 400G D1 for about 6 months now. When I first got it my arm speed wasnt anywhere near what it is now and this thing flew like a firebird very hard and predictable fade. But even after taking a beating it flies perfect everytime. I highly recommend it to anyone that throws Destroyers to give this disc a chance. You wont regret it.

I first got a D1 after about a year of playing and couldn't get it further than 250 ft. Now that I have started playing more seriously it has become one of my main drivers. I have three in my bag at all times. Great in the wind or for an overstable shot from about 350-500 ft.

I think this is the best driver on the market right now for extreme distance and reliable stability. I have had a 400G D1 for almost a year now and it will turn a fair amount, but always come back at the end, which can't usually be said for a destroyer or other high speed drivers like the D1. Brand new, a D1 will have quite a bit a fade on it, but if the arm speed is, it will go a long ways before fading back. I think of it as a faster destroyer. I can reach 500ft. consistently with a D1, and would recommend it to anyone who can handle this beast! if you can crush a destroyer, try a D1, you might just like it more.

I have a D1 in 400G plastic at 149 grams.  Prodigy claims their disc flight characteristics don't change even at lighter weights.  I would guess this isn't true as mine flies much less stable than the numbers would suggest.

I bought this disc to be a long flying disc that is a little more stable than my opto air halo 152 gram disc.  So far I have only used the disc in field work, but it doesn't seem to fly much different overall than my halo except maybe a little shorter.  I also am less consistent with it, though this could be due to more experience with my halo.  I could see it being a decent disc for some, but given how it flies for me, I'll stick with my halo.

Holy mackerel, this baby does what it says it's gonna do.  It's not unthrowably overstabes, but throw it straight into a stiff headwind, and don't blink one eye: this baby is going left (RHBH).  I love flicking (sidearming) this hummer for max predictability, but make sure you bare down and gronk it if you wanna get this baby's distance capabilities into full flight.

Republican, Democrat, doesn't matter, you should have this in your bag.

I like this disc have it in 400g threw it for a while it's really a beefy destroyer doesn't have as much high speed turn but has the same fade. I took it out of my bag because there's too much overlap between my destroyers and my ape but it's a good disc if you can get it up to speed

I have this disc in the 165g 400g pink. Overstable and great into a head wind. Backhand I release this disc flat for a straight shot that needs a good fade at the end. Forehand I release it very flat as well for shots that require a fade at about 275 feet. This disc has been very straight in flight for me and will flex slightly into the find. Prodigy at the 400g and signute level make some of the best feeling discs I have ever thrown.

First off i wish i had bought mine when the proto stamp or first run was first introduced but ended up getting it with the 400G D1 stamp. At first i thought, Wow this thing is overstable. While working this disk in, throwing around in a field, i could feel its potential. Don't play nice with this disk it wants to fly far and smooth through the air. While reviewing this disk i also liked the fact that it had a nice size rim that prevented that all so common grip lock that we all hate so dearly.
