The MVP resistor is described as a slower, overstable fairway driver with more controllable speed. The Resistor has a flat profile that makes it excellent for forehand flicks and overhand shots. The Resistor complements the MVP line of control drivers by providing a more overstable driver than the Shock. Utilizing MVP's GYRO technology, the Resistor will "resist" turn and experience a strong reliable fade. MVP says, "this disc executes accuracy and rangeability like a dream."

One of my favorite forehands discs for sure.  Really easy to throw this well forehand, even with slow arm speeds.  I use both neutron and eclispe, eclipse being even more overstable.

It's been said a million times before, but I will do it again: this disc is just like a firebird like disc, but slightly slower. Which means it's perfect if you're at a range where a firebird type disc goes too far, but your overstable approach disc can't quite reach. It's very overstable, but nothing extreme and combined with its torque resistance, this disc is perfect for power forehands or flex shots that end up going surprisingly far. All in all, this disc is extremely reliable and never fail you, no matter the conditions! (Especially in eclipse plastic)

This is my most thrown disc for my forearms, and I VERY consistently get a result of ~250 feet, even after only having started in April. Additionally, the RHBH throw comes out great for me, and sometimes this disc feels like cheating because it will very actively correct poor throws and fade hard. I wish it weren't my most thrown disc, but it is. Recently I've been able to add some anhyzer on my FH throws to get some additional distance, and it still fights through the air to end in the same fashion that I know and love.

A dependable overstable fairway driver, even for beginners. I've been able to turn it over a good amount and still know it'll fade back for me. Nice for shorter forehands as well.

I think the Resistor is a pretty unique disc, you don't find many discs in the 6/6.5 speed range that are this overstable.  It is very fun to throw and I have found it to be very useful on a number of holes either backhand or forehand.  My neutron Resistor is board flat, it feels beefy in the hand.  The plastic is very firm and stiff.  Most of the 6.5 speed rims from MVP/Axiom feel very comfortable to me so I like that I can get a nice overstable flight while still holding a rim that feels comfortable.  The Resistor is not crazy overstable, that high speed stability is pretty normal for a fairway driver, but the fade at the end of the flight is quite strong.  It fights the wind very well, and gets more distance than most of the overstable midranges I have thrown.  This disc has mostly replaced the overstable 5 speeds I used to throw and has become my main forehand disc for most shots between 240-300ft.

Though not as stable as the numbers suggest, the Neutron Resistor is a one-of-a-kind disc that every player should try, and most players will likely find a place for.

For reference, I can max-out a 12 speed around 380-400.  With the Resistor on a flat release, I can expect a reliable 330' on a calm day.

Like a more-stable Teebird, the Resistor holds surprisingly straight for a long portion of the flight before coming out.  If you put it on anny, you can expect it to continue carrying on that angle for a fair bit before panning out.  This gives it so many possibilities for flight paths in the woods.

This disc also has a great hand-feel for forehands, making it useful on a number of shots.  Because it has a sharp wing, it's my go-to utility disc for skip shots under 250'.

If you haven't had a chance to try the Resistor, do yourself a favor and pick one up.

Feels like a midrange. Flies like a fairway driver. Not as overstable as advertised. Flies pretty straight and goes further than I at least expected with a pretty solid fade. Fun for flex shots.

As others have noted, not exactly what I expected, but a great disc. I expected it to be more overstable. I am an MVP fan, so the disc feels great for me. I use this with the Relay and Hex and can hit most of my mid and fairway shots.

As for the flight, it is a nice, stable fairway that is very controllable. Thrown flat I will get a slight turn and penetrating finish - not a quick dump. I can put a very slight anny on it and it will fight out nice and end straight in front of me for subtle flex shots. Mine is not stable enough for significant flex shots, but that may be the lighter weight. My flight ratings would probably be 7  5  -.5  2. Again, this may be because of the weight. I will say, the glide is awesome on this disc.

While I am predominantly BH, this has become my FH disc. I can throw it as long as my drivers (FH) with much more control. If I turn it over a little, it fights out really nice and has a great flight. Overall, if you like MVP and want a stable fairway, this is a fantastic option.

My disc is MVP Neutron plastic, 175g. My flight ratings are 8, 4, -.5, 3.5

I purchased this disc looking for something in between my Zone and my Firebird. The numbers looked good, but this disc isn't fitting that intended role because it bombs. I am getting a slight turn on forehand which is giving a fuller flight than my Firebird or Raptor and getting about 10-30 feet more of flight compared to those faster discs when released on the same angle. I will keep it in the bag because it is amazing, but I do need to sort what role it plays.

I would say this disc is quite comparable to an Eagle. The turn is a little less than an Eagle and the fade a little stronger.  In extremely heavy wind I might be nervous to throw this forehand due to the turn I get, but the fade is reliable enough that in anything other than heavy wind I am comfortable to reach for this.

While it isn't filling the role I purchased it for, the disc is fantastic and I can't knock the ratings; 5/5. I marked it not beginner friendly due to the over-stability which would likely be too much for a slower arm speed, but could be a great utility disc for anyone.

I love the resistor. The feel in the hand is unique as it feels like a fairway driver, but almost with a midrange sized rim. Very controllable and reasonable overstable disc with good skip. Most resistor I've felt come out on the flatter side.

The flight of this disc holds straight when thrown with power and fades the last 20% of the flight, creating a reliable flight path that has the control of a midrange but the distance and stability of a fairway driver

I bought this disc for some very specific and maybe unique reasons to give it a try. I have been a big fan of my Jennifer Allen Teebird 3 for years. But, being an older guy with arthritis, the 175g weight has been tough on my hands. I know they are different speed discs but, I was impressed with the distance I could get with the slower, 156g Neutron Resistor. I got the overstable flight I want and the distance all with a lighter disc. I'm certainly becoming a Gyro nut! Great controlled distance with this disc.

Flies very much like how you think. I use it in place of a super-over-stable mid.I can get it out to 300 and still power down to anywhere under. For anny shots it has more glide then advertised and will go father than I think every time. Great for anytime you need fade.

Best skip disc on the market! Now, I know most of you will use this disc as a very overstable fairway, probably to meathook around some trees.  But hear me out, once you get used to the level of skip you can get off of the Resistor, you can really cut some corners and hit lines that a disc simply cannot fly through. I can usually get the resistor out to about 200-225ft and then have a nice skip of about 50ft.  Now, when I throw low and fast and aim for a slight hill in the distance i can actually get this disc to make a J turn.  if I hit level ground at full speed I can get a monster skip of 100-125ft sometimes more. I recommend for windy days and technical courses.

I bagged the Resistor due to the comparisons to a Firebird which I threw thumbers with very well. Man what a discovery! After it gets beat in a little the flip from left to right is one of a kind and the most accurate shot in my bag. Not only is it a dive bomb right where I aim but I can throw a thumber comfortably around 300ft with  more of a bounce than a roll. If you have the rare ability to throw overhand, this is a must buy. You’ll know when it’s ready when you see it flip and dive right. While breaking it in you’ll see it want to turn.

People are saying that this is like a baby firebird,  I tend to disagree.   It has too much turn at the beginning of flight.   It's more like if a wraith and a firebird had a baby.   It will turn slightly,  then go straight for a really long time then when it starts to fade, it fades hard.  Really interesting flight pattern.   I will bag this disc for a very long time.

I love this disc. I bag two of them. One of them a tad bit more beat in the other. This disc was built for the flick. I use it on holes that require a good flick. I can keep it low and sail it out to up to about 350 although at that distance I usually reach for my Felon or Firebird. On holes under 350 to about 300 feet it is money. It is a wind-fighter. I also use it in the woods for backhands that need to fade hard.

Some have described this disc as a "baby Firebird" and I have to agree. I throw the Felon and the Firebird and was looking for something a tad bit slower. I don't own but a few MVP discs but after doing my research this was the one. I am so glad a took a chance on this disc.

I was hoping this disc would have the over stability of a firebird but with a little less speed. This is a good disc but flies very similar to a teebird. In fact, this disc was actually a little straighter than my star teebirds. Since I prefer the feel of the teebird, the resistor isn’t staying in my bag, but if you like the feel of neutron plastic then it’s a great fairway driver.

The Resistor has been described as a baby firebird and I would think that's pretty accurate. The Resistor is a very flat and shallow driver with a smaller rim for a fairway driver which I really liked as it was comfortable for both backhand and forehand.

The Neutron plastic feels pretty good. Has enough grip and its the perfect amount of flex for me. MVP discs are also basically indestructible against normal tree hits and all that. Unless you get unlucky and hit something sharp, then any disc will get wrecked on that. Like any brand some of the plastic feels better or worse. My Resistor had pretty good Neutron. Wasn't super grippy but grippy enough for me for sure. Very torque resistant also.

The Resistor was a really fun disc to use. Since its a little slower than other really OS drivers its a little easier to work with for lower arm speeds. The Resistor on a flat power shot will go really straight for a bit and then have a nice hard forward penetrating fade.

I primarily did use the disc for forehands and getting out of trouble but I used it for backhand plenty too. I used this disc for shots that I wanted to go longer than my Zone. It was also great for skip shots. Excels at flex shots, forehand rollers, anything you'd use an OS disc for.

Something that I started to learn with this disc is thumbers and grenades (scoobies?) Grenades are fun with this disc, since it is so OS it goes straight up and comes back down to the left a little bit. Thumbers and Tomahawks are great too. It has a pretty slow pan in the flight being OS and flat. I have made some holes and approach shots easier since learning thumbers.

All in all, I really liked this disc. I unfortunately lost this disc in a pond on a flex shot that didn't seem to want to come back. I threw it with too much anhyzer I suppose. Either way I will replace this disc with another one for sure. I will probably get on in a lighter weight just to make thumbers easier.

This was the disc  I learned to forehand with. Great feel in the hand, low profile which made it easy for me to grip. I don't have much of a backhand so its a good utility meat hook for me if I need to get left in a hurry. I would highly recommend this disc for forehand players, both beginners and advanced.

Oh my! This is the OS fairway you need! If you find yourself needing a meathook with plenty of skip, you will love the Resistor! When I first threw it, I thought it was way too overstable for my arm so I kept it out of the back and in the stack of "maybe in the future's". Well, the future came and this disc now has a permanent spot in my bag. I kept finding myself in situations on the course where I need a very strong fade and even some skip and for the life of me, I could not perform this shot without the Resistor in my bag. I decided to give it another shot and added it to the bag and now, it's not going anywhere. It has got me out of some really tough situations and now I love to recommend this disc to people! Oh and are you worried about wind? Don't be, because the Resistor definitely is not!

I use this as my main meathook disc or for thumbers. The flat profile makes it absolutely great for thumbing. The slower speed than a Firebird or an Avenger makes it great for getting a great hyzer, but not overshooting your distance. This is fantastic pickup for anyone that has a bit more arm strength as their really able to control the direction of the disc.

I use this as my main fairway control driver. Once i got one beat up enough to fly straighter it has been a laser and reminds me of what i can do with my envy only at longer distances. I would recommend beating in a resistor, it will take time but become the most reliable straight flying disc in your bag and you can really work it on flex annys or any line really, im not sure i will ever be able to beat the stability out of this thing though, it just holds lines a little longer over time but the dump at the very end is still there and im not sure that will ever beat out of this thing. Its very reliable in wind and just gets better with time. It would be nice if they made a slightly less fade variant of this disc so i didnt have to beat one to death to get what i want, but i LOVE it!

    174 G Neutron Resistor

Resistor is an apt name for this very OS fairway. I will say, though, I am just not clicking with this disc. It is extremely flat and shallow, and feels like it has a bit of a smaller diameter than your typical fairway. The reason I am not feeling this disc is that it is rated as a 6 speed, and perhaps it is, but it just feels so fast and squirrely. It doesn't fly too far, but it seems to get where it is going FAST. The overstability is nice and consistant, but it still feels unpredictable to me for some reason. For me it fills a hole just below a disc like a Firebird/FD3/Felon that I just don't need.

Got it 172g completely flat topped. I absolutely love this disc. Doesn't matter what angle you put it on you know it's going to come back and finish left. I wasn't sure about the speed somewhere between fairway and mid-range, but let me tell you. I never realized how bad my bag was lacking until I picked up this resistor. Utility, short controlled drives it's fun to throw you know exactly what it's going to do which is go left. I honestly believe everyone should have a resistor in their bag whether they intend to use it for drives or simply as a utility disc to get you out of a bad situation I can rely on it. Also this disc forehands super well!

166g Neutron.  Very durable plastic.  Very over-stable even at less than max weight.

Best forehand control disc out there.  I've been playing 5 years and this is by far the most consistent disc I've used. IT WILL NOT FLIP.  I can throw it hard and flat, or on an anhyzer flex line, and it always fades hard at the end - wind or no wind.  Comes out of the hand clean with no off-angle torque wobble.  I've bagged it for 4 years now and it will not leave the bag.  275 feet thrown hard - every time.  No guessing.  No hoping it won't flip.  Stiff head-wind - no problem.  I love this disc.  Definitely a stroke saver.

Lets get out of the way up front: This disc is not a true driver, it is a role player. It is a super overstable disc for mid to short fairway throws, or shorter extreme headwind drives.

It truly excels at this job. It will go straight for 200-250 feet, then turn left. Every. Single. Time. Maybe 300 to 350 if you have a really big arm, but it will still turn left.

This is not a disc for beginners or for anyone struggling to control nose angle.

The numbers might suggest a flight similar to a Whippet, but that isn't the case. Whippets (and other similar discs) can be flexed for big distance, but the Resistor doesn't hold a flex. It also does not skip like most other overstable fairways. The skip is smaller and doesn't gain height as much.

Again, this disc is a role player, and a darned good one. This disc could easily find a home in any experienced players bag.

I have this in Proton Plastic, which is not a listed option. Anyhow, this bad boy is overstable, very overstable. More overstable than any of my other MVP discs (Photon is closest). It flies like a firebird, but probably a little bit more overstable. If you need an absolute meathook, this will be it. I personally have been using the Latitude 64 Trident in this slot, but I'm working with the resistor some to see if it will supplant it. It is not glidey. It fades and hits the ground. It does have the traditional thin profile and flat top as pretty much any non-putter MVP that I own (I don't own any of their midranges yet). I had to search long and hard to get a proton version of this disc because it's currently only in production in Neutron I believe. It will not turn over.

I carry one in max weight Neutron plastic at the moment that I have to admit, I actually bought by mistake thinking it was something different. Well, best mistake ever! This is the ultimate utility disc for me. Little skip out shots from the woods, long hyzers with a big skip finish, thumbers/tomahawks that don't flip over, quick little forehand rollers in a tight spot. You name it, it'll do anything other than hold an anhyzer to the ground. Also great for flex shots, anny release with a hyzer finish. It's kind of like a baby firebird of sorts. It's a little hard to imagine how I've played without one for so long honestly. I'll be picking one up in a lighter weight as more of a regular use overstable mid-range/fairway slot thrower. Small rim, board flat profile makes it very comfortable for either backhand or forehand throws.

This is THE speed 6 fairway driver IMHO.  I carry two.  One in the low 160's weight that I use like a TB3 or Spark (because you can overpower them and they still fly great) and one in max weight for FH and BH utility shots.  Flat, thin and small rimmed so they feel great in hand.  As long as you don't ask it to hold an anny to the gorund, this disc will do your bidding regardless whether its via BH, FH or OH arm motions.

This is a great / unique disc.  It is an Overstable fairway driver, but it's unique in that it has a very small rim and it's very flat.  Easy to hold, feels very intuitive - easy to make precise short-range OS shots with.   Powers up well too, flies straight then when it slows takes a nice fade.  I agree flight # is 6/4/0/3 - you may get a small turn out of it...first 60% of flight can be very straight and can be flexed on lines to fly straighter.   It's not that fast, but has a lil zip, its small profile so its great for getting out of trouble and thumbers.  It's a lot like a Prodigy A2, but more Fariway-ish where that is more Putter-ish.   Kind of a tweener disc.  But I like it quite a bit.   If you like OS discs this is worth a try for sure.

Doesn't skip like crazy unless you want it to -- can be honed in for placement.  Great for forehands, I even got an ace and hit a 400$ ace pot with it!   And I'm terrible at forehands.

Absolutely one of the best discs I've ever thrown. It is the perfect combination of over-stability and speed to cover a vast majority of shots. Backhand and forehand, this mid-fairway mixture of a disc is perfect to fight wind and get around obsticles. The Resistor is not as over-stable as I was initially expecting it to be, which actually turned out to be a good thing. It'll glide straight for a long ways before finding its fade at the end of the flight.

Incredibly reliable disc and I've found myself trusting it in all situations.

It is the most reliable disc in my bag. It will fade, every time. Headwinds mean nothing to this disc. It isn't uncontrollable fade, but just dependable. Think of it as a baby firebird.

This disc has become a staple in my bag. Flicks, thumbers, and fh rollers, overstable back hands. The resistor can do it all. I prefer the proton plastic due to the firmness for rolling but you cannot go wrong with either neutron or proton.

Great overstable fairway, I use this primarily for forehand. I really like how flat and shallow this disc is. If i'm throwing forehand it's because I need to shape a shot and trust I won’t be able to turn it over. This discs is amazing in this spot and I don’t think it will be leaving that spot anytime soon.

Very stable disc that has a fade that is very predictable. This disc has great glide and will fight into a headwind. This disc for me is one that I can use for a variety of shots where I need the disc to finish strong. It will get down the fairway well and has the ability to stay low if needed to get under the canopy and stay low until the dsc hits the ground. This disc will skip in the direction of the fade.

The resistor is like a mini predator for me. If I need more distance than my vector will offfer but I don't need the full blowon hyzer line of my predator, I pull out my resistor.

I have been very impressed with my Resistors. I have always had a need in my bag for an overstable fairway. For a while I used Teebirds, but I decided I needed something more overstable. Then I switched to Banshees, but I could never find one that was nice and flat. I started reading reviews about Resistors and how they were a slow fairway driver, consistently flat and very overstable. That is exactly what they are. Pancake flat, durable and a total joy to throw. I use it more for forehand shots than backhand. They power down so well that I don't carry a traditional overstable midrange anymore. I jump right from a Zone to a Resistor and don't see any need to fill the gap between the two. HIghly recommend this disc.

This is a laser that finishes with a super harsh fade. Good in spots.

    OS FAIRWAY GOODNESS!!

Love this disc for shots that are less then 325'. Super stable, release it flat and slight right of the target (RHBH) and it will fly straight for about 250' and start fading super hard. Great disc for forehand as well. Iv had mine for a while and its beat in to perfection, still has stability, even after alot of use.

My Resistor is Orange, 174 grams, and super flat! This disc is different from the Trident in shape, but they have similar flights. The Trident had more of a dome and the rim shape was flatter and larger. This disc is exactly what I have needed for heavy winds and has become my favorite thumber disc.

For sidearm throws, this disc can handle a lot of power and not turn much at all, but it does turn. On an anhyzer release, it needs enough air to come out of the turn, but the Resistor suprises me with how far it can go when given an anhyzer flick. On flat and hyzer flicks, it will always finish diving or skipping as long as you don't throw it into the ground. This is very useful for shots that need to be kept low and shots where you need to skip around a corner or a set of trees. Awesome get out of trouble disc for anyone. For my thumber shots, it usually starts off to the left and then fades over to the right, while still keeping its distance. I can consistently throw thumbers with this disc from the 230'-300' range. And as far as backhand throws, I don't throw this disc backhand very much, unless there is a strong headwind and if there is OB or something on the right.

i just got my resistor today and hurried up to the local course to try it out. my resistor is a 172 hot pink that i picked up right here on infinite disc. ( thanks for getting it out to me quickly ). the resistor is the third fairway driver from MVP that i have tried. i also have the volt and the amp and for what ever reason i had trouble getting those 2 drivers up to speed. that baffles me because i throw several other similar and higher speed disc very well but can't seem to get the volt or the amp to do what they should , it must have something to do with the gyro tech. the resistor however is a different story, i spent several hours today throwing this disc both backhand and forehand, i threw it until i thought my arm would fall off. all i can say is that i absolutely love this disc. i very much agree with the flight pattern infinite disc has given for this disc.i do feel it might be slightly faster though, maybe a speed 7. for me the resistor's flight is most comparable to the innova banshee when thrown flat. i also found that this disc flexes very nicely when thrown with some wrist angle anny and gains considerable distance when thrown this way. its thin profile and super flat top reminds me of the lightning P38 ( #2 hookshot) another disc that i love. one of the weak points of my game has always been my forearm, its ugly. but its a thing of beauty when flicking the resistor. my udisc app on my phone wasn't working today but im certain i set a new personal forehand distance record today with this disc. i threw this disc just as far forehand as i did backhand, i have never done that with any disc and i threw my first golf disc in 1989. we had some pretty stiff winds here this morning that allowed me to test the resistor into a headwind. I heaved the resistor (RHBH) into a headwind of about 25 miles an hour and it never turned a bit, just dead straight with a solid fade at the end. i threw my tensor into the same headwind for comparison and it turned and burned into the ground. I have enjoyed all of the MVP disc i have purchased, with the Ion, tangent and now the resistor being my favorites. i hope they will soon release the under stable version of the resistor

The Resistor definitely doesn't give me the distance that they other MVP drivers do. I'm not actually noticing much difference in distance between this disc and the Tensor. Now, the point of an overstable fairway driver isn't for distance anyways. I love using the Resistor for forehand flicks, and a nice thing about this disc is that it isn't so overstable that I can't throw it back hand.

This is a solid overstable utility fairway driver good for doglegs and flex shots where you need a big fade to land near the basket. I haven't played with it in any major winds, but it really feels like it will be a good head wind fighter that will resist turning over. If you like MVP, and want a driver more overstable than the first run Shocks, you'll be happy with the Resister.

Got mine yesterday, 167 red gorgeous disc. Not as overstable as I expected. Hold a line nice and drops when it runs out of power. Very controllable, nice for flick shots as well. Very flat almost concave top. So far so good. Will leave more feedback after a little more seasoning.
