This disc is very flat and very stable. Perfect into the wind for both FH and BH. It also can give you nice big skips that you would normally only see from drivers. It feels great in the hand but man will this thing dump if you don't give it enough power.

I just recently found one of these and decided to give it a try. I have yet to really throw it backhand but on forehand it really shines. This is my new approach method. Being able to look at the basket on approaches has really helped and this disc has improved that aspect. Big hyzer or a nice S shape approach, this disc does it.

I've always enjoyed the Proton plastic feel but I will definitely try it in other plastics soon.

My single most-used disc since I started playing. It was initially a meathook/utility disc for upshots but eventually became a disc used often off the tee for 200-275 foot forehands. It's incredibly reliable, comfortable on forehand, and can handle power, wind, and cold conditions. The proton plastic is durable and flexes enough for cold weather work. It also tends to counter-skip or skip forward if thrown hard, which makes it land more reliably than sharper-rimmed discs.

I have proton deflector and it is one of my favorite midranges! It's so reliably over stable. It is great for shotshaping in the woods. Thrown on an anhyzer it always fades back or thrown on a hyzer low to the ground you can get a great skip out of it.

The deflectors is one of the most overstable beefcakes of a midrange on the market. This type of disc is designed to fade and get to the ground as fast as possible and it accomplishes that job pretty well. The disc flat out will not turn over even in a ripping headwind, the disc will not go far, the disc will always fade and fade hard even on an absurd anhyzer. The deflector is a disc that I always bag despite hoping I never need to reach for it during a round, it's a great "get of jail" type disc for when your lie is sitting in less than ideal places and you need to throw around some big nasty obstacle or any time that you just need a disc that will fade and fade hard.

picked one of these up from a local store and it immediately went in the bag. this is an amazing forehand disc. it can handle all the torque. i throw this disc as hard as i would thrown a driver. thrown hard with hyzer it will flip to flat and go dead straight before immediately dumping towards the target. for me the disc maxes out at about 260-to 275. this is a great disc for wooded tunnel shots that you need to fade hard. thrown with enough power this disc just goes dead straight and dumps hard. you can get some nice flex lines with this disc as well. great fore power forehand throwers looking for a disc that can handle any amount of power you put on it. its just a great all around disc that you can depend on to fade.

This disc is amazing. It's gotten me out of some of the most bad spots. It's very true to it's numbers and has been a very dependable disc in my bag.

    <proton plastic>

< 250 ft ... do not use, work on your fundamentals

250-350 ft ... amazing utility disc. it is extremely reliable with a flat top and it doesn't even notice that the wind is there. I use it anywhere from touchy backhand upshots to forehand shots off the tee that are dogleg right.

375+ ft ... this thing just has an excellent flight for advanced+ players. it'll hold a smooth, gradual fade from the second it releases your hand, to when it lands right by the basket. it looks like a geometric arc that even my math 10th grade teacher would be proud of.

Absolute beefcake, most overstable mid i own feels great in the hand tho. Don't currently bag it but if i did would use it as a short scramble disc. Feels like a felon as a mid honestly.

This disc is like a baby firebird, and that's how I use it.  Almost exclusively forehand, and it is very reliable.  Feels great in the hand and has a nice clean release.  Wish it wasn't always out of stock, but there is an obvious reason - this disc rocks.  Highly recommend and I look forward to picking up more and trying it in different plastics.

Awesome disc. If you don't have it get it rite now. I have Proton and Neutron plastic for this. If you've ever wanted a disc for touch shots within 260 then this is the answer. I use it primarily as a forehand disc, if you throw it flat it will skip like crazy but give it some air and it will die rite where you put it. Probably my most used disc next to my Destroyers, Firebirds and Tesla's.

This is a very overstable mid-range. It is actually so good for trick shots as you can bend it in all directions. I love this midrange disc. I find that midranges in general help all disc golfers in learning how to throw discs and also the ways to get distance. I recommend this disc for most beginners. Beginners in general should be able to throw any disc, so you will probably be able to throw this disc. This disc has a nice position in my bag. I use it for shaping shots and for doing very touchy upshots. I find that the more I use this disc, the more I learn special things about it. I find the this disc is a good disc for people who have played a lot of ultimate frisbee. It will probably be great for you. The design of this disc feels that it is a bit bigger than other discs so it may fit in your hand perfectly. I find that this disc is very versatile and I can throw 275-315 feet with this disc. I know that if I don’t put to much power and put it nice and high in the air, I will probably go the line which I want. I find that this disc is very straight so whenever I aim this disc I aim it straight at the basket and have like a 1-2 step runup before releases with control. This disc will bring control into your game. Disc golfers sometimes only aim to get the most amount of distance on their drivers but forget other important things such as getting control into their game. I find that I have gained a lot of control by using this disc. I also feel that this disc is perfectly fit into everyone's bag. From a beginner to a pro, this disc can fit into your bag as it just feels great in the hand. The rim of this disc is so nice holding as I know that I can do anything with it. Beginners should not go any further and higher speed then this disc. For those who are new to the sport, I think that this disc can just do well in your hand. I find that this plastic is quite good in most conditions, yet can give me a bit of trouble when I am at the course on a hotter day. It does then tend to be a bit gummy. Overall, this disc should be tried by everyone. It may not be for you, but I think that you will enjoy throwing it. It is great in my bag and I use it for most touchy upshots. Give it a try and maybe you will like it.

This disc is a meat-hook with double the meat. Its nearly perfectly flat top tells you that this thing wants to dive to the earth at an extreme angle without any illusion of a turn. This is a very practical "get out of jail free" disc, and handles flicks that need a strong fade but very little skip well. It was out of my bag for a while as I learned with less specialized discs and built my form, but it's back in for a spin due to its unique role in my bag. This thing fights back out of flex shots with attitude, and with a decent hyzer it wants to spike back to the ground nearly vertically. Ever need to get around a dogleg at nearly 90 degrees? The Deflector can do that too.

The Deflector is one of those discs with so much fade that it can hide OAT and other form issues in forehands easily, so I recommend that you wait a bit before putting it in that role. Either way, this is a midrange with attitude. Enjoy!

Love the feel of this disc the rim is perfect for my forehand grip.

Hyzer both BH & FH this thing is a bit of a meathook, but that can be a good thing if you need to go straight then finish with a hard hyzer.

Flat BH it takes some power but it fly straight then hyzer out. FH it goes very straight with a smooth hyzer.

Anhyzer both BH&FH I get that dependable flex line. My natural FH release is on a anhyzer so this disc filled that slot of something super overstable that wouldn't turn into a roller if I overturned a FH

Excellent forehand midrange. It has enough speed and glide to get more distance than an overstable approach disc but will still have that reliable strong fade at the end of the flight, it likes to fade a lot. This was the first MVP disc I got and definitely has me curious to explore more from them.

Deflector = beef platter, with extra beef. Wow,this is so over stable,my friend has a dynamic discs lucid justice, and it flies the same as his justice. I love the proton plastic. If you actually find this review, and if maybe you're wondering what the bead situation is. It has about a half bead. So basically, if you like at say, an aviar, and also say, a justice, this is like a combination of the bead, (Not the flight),but it doesn't have a full bead of a Justice, but but it's not completely beadless, (Like an aviar). Great disc, love MVP plastic so much.

Absolutely beautiful disc for starters, MVP does their proton plastic justice with my sparkly blue deflector. This disc basically has a magnet in it that directs it straight to the left of where you throw it which makes it the most predictable mid I have ever thrown with semi-shoddy form. If you want distance, this disc isn't it, but why would you attempt to throw a mid for a long distance shot in the first place? This is also the first disc I have found that will just stick to a slope and not budge if thrown on a hyzer line into the side of the hill. This disc also feels great in my medium sized hands, a plus for such a beefy disc.

The only downside of this is that I only ever pull it out of my bag once or twice a round as it fills a utility slot. Can't knock the disc for the course design around me though so 5/5 it is.

This thing is BEEFY!  Can put it on basically any angle for a forehand and depend on it to come back.  This is by far the best forehand midrange in my bag and is so dependable.  When something is this overstable, its easy to tell what it's going to do.

This disc took a while to get to know but is a great scramble disc. I'm giving it a lower glide a bit more turn. This disc immediately goes to the right when thrown flat. Even at max power it starts going right.

I have found this disc great for short backhand flex approaches (like go forward 20 feet then flip back and land at the basket which is 40 feet away). I also love this for huge forehand flex shots especially when going over trees. This is my favorite disc to forehand over ~10-20foot trees knowing it will go about straight.

This disc is not for spike hyzers. Thought it would be, but it has very little glide. Thrown as a spike hyzer it just does straight and you wonder why it didn't get a lot of distance and ended up dead straight.

Another great utility disc that I keep in the bag for scramble shots or weird approaches.
