The Latitude 64 Scythe is a fast overstable driver with a 2.2cm wing. While this disc is beefy and overstable, it still has some pretty good glide. If you're looking for a fast Destroyer-like Trilogy disc with a moderate rim width, consider the Scythe.

Picked one up out of the used bin at my local shop. Didn't know I needed this in my bag. Probably the greatest disc I've put in my hand. All you have to do is rip this thing and it FLIES.

I picked up a Scythe for forehand drives that need a sharp reliable fade at the end and that is exactly what the Scythe does.  When I throw it well it can zip just above the ground for 80% of the flight then fade on cue.  When I throw it poorly it either climbs quickly or fades too quickly leaving me with the need to scramble since I only use it on low ceiling shots around an obstacle.  I have had a few Scythes and the skip is not as consistent across discs.

The War Horse has since taken this spot in my bag and is more reliable for elevation and flight path.

The Scythe is the perfect utility OS driver for those of us with mortal arm speeds. Despite the huge fade, it is quite easy to get it to go straight for a long time before it takes a 90 degree turn. It has enough glide to really get you around an obstacle before dumping and skip shots are very easy. The profile is perfect for forehand drives as well. It's very easy to shape a big flex line. On top of all that, the Opto stamp is one of the best looking in the game! What's not to love?

I think that the words Consistent and Smooth best describe the Scythe.  This aptly named disc simply slices through wind like a reaper at harvest time.

The Scythe appears to have the same rim as an Enforcer, combined with a much flatter top.  The shallow rim and flat top of the Scythe make it so easy to sidearm smoothly, that I have stopped reaching for an Enforcer whenever I need more distance than a Felon or Criminal.

While I feel like the Enforcer may be one of the best if not the best all around driver for advanced players and normal weather conditions, the low glide of the Scythe provides better consistency into headwinds, especially for my intermediate skill level.

Obvious Observation 1:  As with any disc with this much speed and stability, a low flat throw will result in a big skip, and a high hyzer release will result in a short, sharp thud straight into the ground.

Obvious Observation 2:  The Opto plastic is more stable and takes longer to break in.  The Gold Line plastic is super high quality, feels great in the hand, provides a bit more tackiness for cold or wet conditions, and a tad more turn in flight that adds some distance.

If you are a forehand only player, the Scythe should be in your bag.  I do not think that 400' distance is realistic for most players with this disc, but the smooth release and consistent flight of this disc make it excellent for sidearms and headwind shots.

I only bought the Scythe becuase it was beautiful. I found a black sparkle Opto with a metallic red stamp and it is the prettiest disc I have ever owned. Amazing looking.

This guy is a good Sweedish answer to the XCaliber or Force. An overstable, shallow disc that is great to forehand and comfortable enough to be anyones head wind driver.

If you beat one it it could be a real bomber BH or FH.

The grip is very comfortable and the rim is managable, but I was thinking it would be slightly more Overstable than it is. I can throw it far 400-425 regularly, but that is only if I am careful not to give the disc too much flex, those shots sometimes don't come all the way back with the Scythe as they would with something like a Phase or XCal and the flight ends up looking like a backhand hyzer instead of the FH hyzer I was going for.

I throw 95% forehand (sidearm) and this is my go to distance driver. I can forehand it 370-400' and it is always consistent in the wind. When I first started playing I did not have the arm for it but now I can flex this disc out quite a ways. If you throw it as a hyzer shot it will hook hard for you. If you have a decent flick I would highly recommend it. This is my favorite driver and I own A LOT of drivers. Well worth the purchase, I own a 173 & 174 in Opto.

The Scythe probably has the best factory stamp of any disc on the market, especially if you can find one with a shatter stamp. It's a very beefy, overstable mold that is unaffected by strong winds. It doesn't have a ton of glide built in, but it holds tight lines and is very fast. This makes it perfect for flicks. Backhanders will find it to be a good utility for wind fighting and hyzering around obstacles.

Opto is the best plastic choice for a mold like this. The Scythe is so beefy, that it can spike pretty violently into the ground. You'll want the sustainability and durability of Opto.

If you're looking for a meathook that will flick a long ways, the Scythe will handle as much power as you can give it.

I started playing disc golf a couple of weeks ago. Prior to that, I had never thrown a disc. The closest I came was playing Ultimate Frisbee, or Kan Jam.

The Scythe was the first driver that I tried to throw forehand, and I fell in love with it. It's now my go-to forehand driver.

Once you get acquainted to the path the disc takes(It hooks pretty hard), you can untilize it in a variety of ways both forehand and backhand.

In my limited experience, Opto plastic feels the best. It's my favorite driver, and the foil print looks really nice.

    Very pleased with this purchase.

Got this disc at first to try throwing something higher speed. I have a slow arm and this has actually become my best back hand disc. It has a wicked hook which isn't that hard to manipulate to really shape a wide variety of shots. I love using it on forehand throws to easily get around obstacles. This disc will sail off to the left for forever before coming back with a predictable fade. I wouldn't recommend this for begginers though. I find it most useful when trying to really muscle out a longer driver on a wide open hole, or if you need to get creative. It feels pretty big in the hand but is extremely comfortable. Plus the stamp is sick.

Bought this disc in hopes that it would be a longer trident. This disc is great for forehand flicks and backhand wind shots. I do turn it over with a flat forehand and roll it out with even the slightest anny. It's a fantastic disc to learn and learn you must. Great feel in the hand.  The opto plastic is fantastic. I still can't decide which I like better though. Gold line is amazing too. The foil print on this is killer. (literally)

I love this disc! I recently started using the Scythe, and it quickly found a place in my bag. I normally use a flat-topped Firebird for my forehand shots, but it is very overstable, kind of a one-trick pony. The Scythe is an extremely beefy disc, but not unthrowable backhand, and is ultimately way more versatile than the Firebird.

The Scythe is a high-speed overstable disc, with a big rim, and surprising glide. It provided a wide range of uses compared to what I had grown accustom to. I can harness this discs stability to get around obstacles and shape certain lines, like I did with my Firebird, but it has the potential for so many other uses, including distance. It isn't a one-use disc and I was really impressed with all of its abilities.

I can get the Scythe much farther than my Firebird, and it is a much more intuitive disc to use. I can visualize a shot and execute it. I really recommend trying this disc out. I wouldn't recommend this disc to beginners. However, if you are a new player that prefers wider rims and mainly forehands, you may find some uses for this disc and grow into it.

The Opto Scythe is epic! It is so overstable, but it isn't unthrowable. When I pick up something like a Stiletto, it is just a ridiculous disc that doesn't seem to serve any sort of purpose. The Scythe has just that small amount of throwability that I look for in a fast, overstable disc.

I threw some very nice dependable spike hyzers with the Scythe, and found myself trying it out on a lot of different shots.

I absolutely loved the opto Scythe for Forehand drives. Dependable, fast, and overstable. What I really liked about throwing it forehand is that it could handle a good headwind. My forehand is more wind-sensitive than my backhand is, so I have less confidence that I won't flip over my disc in a headwind. The Scythe was very dependable in headwind situations even with a forehand drive, and was definitely great in a headwind with a backhand.

I think this is a good disc to try out if you did not like the Enforcer or Stiletto. Fast, Overstable, Dependable, and great for windy conditions.

    My Distance Utility of Choice

The Scythe from Latitude 64 is exactly as advertised: overstable, flat and fast. Its quite a bit less overstable than the Stiletto, but I have no need for that level of overstability. My main distance driver is the Giant (I bag three: Elasto, TP and BT) which is also overstable and fast, but much more workable. I can actually use the Giant for distance shots in all wind conditions, and see turn to some degree out of all of them. The Scythe, however, is a different animal. I very rarely throw this thing backhand...if the headwind is that bad, I'll just play a different day. As my subtitle indicates, the Scythe is a pure utility disc for me.

What I use it for: Tomahawks, thumbers, sharp dogleg sidearms, forehand rollers, scoobers and long turbo putts. It has the speed to stretch farther than my other utility discs: the Salient Vein, the Discraft Buzzz OS and the Reptilian Disc Golf Scale. It's hard to get that distance though, as it generally requires a level of torque that I don't like to put into my throw. The Scythe lacks glide, particularly for a Latitude 64 disc, but you can still get appreciable coverage on a skip shot.

I personally reccomend this disc for anyone who needs a fast utility disc, yet finds the Stiletto or Nuke OS to be too much. Begginer's or low-powered players need not apply.

My go to driver for forehand lines. Scythe is my skip, long hyzer, long anhyzer, wind fighting, forward penetrating, driver. All this(in my case) done with a flick because it seems as if Scythe was simply meant for forehand throws. If I don't know what to throw I can simply take a Scythe out of my bag and poke around with it. Scythe is quite overstable and it will flex back out of most anything and even my most beat-in Scythe still has a very strong fade and skip. I have gotten 400 + ft with Scythe and still felt in control of it. I recommend it to anyone curious about it. Scythe is an absolute staple in my bag(I carry 4 in different stabilities all 173g and +).
