The Star Toro is a reliable choice for forehand approaches and power backhands. Slightly softer in the hand than Champion but with plenty of torque resistance and fade.

After throwing this disc for more than a year, this is the best OS midrange/approach.  The flight numbers are true.

I must have bought a couple bad ones because this disc isn't very overstable for my forehand. On a backhand it was a meathook but on my forehand it kept turning on me. Doesn't seem to be as torque resistant as my champion metal flake gators. I prefer the rim feel on the gator as well. Kind of disappointed with this one.

I have used both a star (175 grams) and champion (172 grams) Toro as my primary overstable approach disc. In both plastics, the disc is fairly puddle topped. While I use the Toro for some backhand shots, I find it much more comfortable on a forehand. As for the flight of the disc, it is consistantly overstable, no matter the conditions. I have found the star plastic slightly less glide than my champion version, but that might simply come down to differences between runs.

    Star 175g Innova Toro.

I really love this disc as a perfect utility overstable approach disc. The Star plastic is great and doesn't sacrifice any stability, but definitely has more like 3 glide. The slight indented top feels great for a forehand grip. The toro despite its overstability is not the skippiest of approach discs.

This disc is very zone like but with a bit more stability. For an Innova player this feels like a shallower Aviar X3 with the torque resistance of a pig.

Feel: This is a comfortable disc. Feels like a zone with a thicker rim. I was kinda concerned about the small groove at the edge of the rim but it's not noticeable in the hand. This run of star plastic on the stiff, slick side star plastic but still feels great.

Flight: It flies like a zone for me, so good. Noce and overstable. The nunbers on the disc of 4/2/1/3 feels more accurate than the numbers on here. Nice and torque resistant but it doesn't fade as hard as an anvil or a justice.

Conclusion: Innova finally has its overstable approach disc. Good feel, good flight and its available. If that slot isn't filled for you, it is worth a look but I don't think it would bump something like a zone or Harp out of anyone's bag.
