This run of Champion plastic feel great, it's very firm and has great grip.  The Toro is another OS approach disc, a very popular type of disc these days.  My Toro is board flat, and feels a little deeper in the hand than a Zone.  I throw my Toro on most approach shots and for shorter forehand drives off the tee.  It is overstable but I don't find it to be overly beefy.  Contrary to some other reviews I found the Toro to not have much glide.  It almost flies like a combination of a Zone and a Berg.  If thrown hard on anhyzer it will try to fight out of it, but since the glide is so low it usually doesn't have time to get all the way back to the center of the fairway.  This makes it a somewhat flexible approach putter, it is overstable and good for hyzers or for being a wind-fighter, but also workable enough to place it on either side of the fairway.  If you are looking for more stability I would probably go for a beefy run of Zone, but if you want something more workable the Toro should get the job done.

Best Approach Disc in the Game

If it wasn't for Innova's inconsistency with production, this disc would be an easy 5-star. I love the Toro for anything under 275' that my putter won't do. Basically, anything not dead straight. I bag a Champion Extra Gummy that isn't a retail option yet. I love the tacky, grippy feel and the disc likes to really hit and sit. I used to be a die-hard Pig thrower, but once they released the Toro, the Pig left the bag. I use the Toro for forehand shots primarily, but it has its moments for backhand also.

I like how the Toro isn't dumb overstable, which usually makes the fade finish very vertically. This lends too much to rollaway in my opinion. Those real overstable approach discs like Zone OS, Baobab and Stego force you to always give a chop, s shot to get them to land more flat. I don't mind it but I'd rather throw an approach flat and let it hit the ground without having to overthink release angles. The Toro is still great for chopping and getting an s flight, but it doesn't fight out as quickly as the previously mentioned discs. I don't think the positive 1 in the Turn slot is correct for this disc but is for the others mentioned. If I throw hard for a 250' shot with a forehand flat, the disc will turn over slightly and then fade, something I would never expect from a from +1 Turn disc. But, since Innova doesn't produce these all with a consistent slight puddle top, they don't all fly the same in regards to high speed turn.

If you are looking for an easy to find approach disc and prefer Innova over other manufacturers... this is your disc.

Ideal forehand approach disc. Flat top, durable plastic but has some grip. Will retain flight characteristics for years. Must have for players who like to throw hard but lack touch on their short game.

The disc definitely has positive turn when not thrown like an Ape. When thrown at its speed you'll see it start to veer gently off its line while maintaining forward momentum and then transition into its fade. Despite the positive turn, it's super responsive to holding anhyzer power flex shots. Seems to want to glide just a little more than a Gator to me, but with a much smoother flight path. Great backhand or forehand.

I absolutely adore the Toro. It is super reliable forehand or backhand, very comfortable, and safe to throw in windy conditions. Amazing for approaching, scrambling, or throwing hyzers and flex lines. I do think it's a little less stable than the numbers would depict (a positive 1 turn feels like an exaggeration). Overall one of my favorite discs i bag.

A slam dunk from Innova. Nice overstable approach disc. Very similar shape to a Discraft Zone but a bit taller, which makes it slower. Reliable, accurate, and great plastic

Flies exactly like it is supposed to, overstable with low glide. It's perfectly flat which makes it ideal for forehand approaches. The obvious comparison that everyone will make is to the zone. It's nearly identical, but the toro is a touch more rounded on the edges, cheaper, and champion plastic feels nicer than discraft Z.
