I have joined the craze of people cycling kc pro rocs in their bags in different stages of wear. I'm glad that I did. Doing so in dx plastic is also a viable option, but the kc pro rocs hold these stages for longer. My oldest roc has a good amount of glide and is a hyzer flip machine. I love throwing it on hyzer and watching it flip up and even get some turn. Throwing it flat results in a beautiful s curve shot. I personally love throwing it on turnover shots because it still has some stability so it doesn't dump out and roll. I could navigate any woods with this disc. When I bring a new one in the bag, it's stability gives it a nice contrast to the older ones. If you find a flat top one, it will generally be more stable and will be that way longer. I think everyone should try a roc in either kc pro or dx plastic and give it a shot so you can at least see the potential in this disc as it breaks in. I recommend this to everyone, especially if you're like me and do throw midrange shots too often.

There's a reason that people cycle DX Rocs and not Star Rocs.  The benefit to having a Roc in premium plastic is that it will stay in its sweet spot for a lot longer than a base plastic Roc.  The drawback is that it also can take a long time to wear the disc into the super straight flyer that people love in Rocs.

I've been using my Star Roc for several months now, and it's still in its stubbornly overstable phase.  It will fly straight and level for the first two thirds of its flight, but then it starts to drift left slightly (almost like what you'd see in a disc with a positive number for its turn value), before fading at the end of its flight as expected.  I know that I'll be able to get a disc that flies straight and level all the way until its fade if this disc sees enough trees, but man it's taking a while to get there.  The silver lining is that when this disc gets there, it's going to be money for a long time.

The Roc is a slow flying, easy to control mid-range disc that should be in everyone's bag, from beginners to touring pros. The San Marino Roc the heart of my game for controlled turnover and straight approach shots.

My very first midrange disc is a red DX Roc. This disc will hold a line and cut threw wind and fade just a slight at the end. I now have 2 DX and one Star Roc. these will forever be in my bag. I really want to get the new Roc3 to give a review for it. An amazing looking disc and a lot of people in Kansas like it.
