If there was one disc to rule them all, its the R-Pro Pig!  Out of the box this thing is pure beef, but will beat in to whatever you need it to be.  I bag 3, one new beefy boy, one that flies pretty neutral, and then one that is super flippy that will hold an anny line with no fight out at the end.  I can get the neutral one to hyzer flip to flat and ride for about 300 ft before fading out.  Great for tight lines in the woods!

    Absolutely love this mold!

I use this as an approach disc and not a putter though might be useful for some putts if the winds are strong. Quite overstable out of the box, with lazy 200-225ft forehands. As it beats in starts to fly predictably neutral and stretches out to 300ft forehand with a hyzer flip.

Super consistent point-and-shoot disc that feels great and goes right where I want it to, every time... it just eats up kff-axis torque and flexes very consistently every single time. Especially in R-Pro plastic it ikes to stay put even with a decent amount of hyzer. Only goes as far as you want to throw it though I prefer shorter discs below 200ft.

For me this has been the disc that I can most reliably park from 225-250ft so long as I have a straight line to the hole as it is very forgiving and easy to throw. I come back to it again and again!

I love this disc! New, they are pretty overstate but after throwing full power into a tree a couple of times, they beat in quickly. I have one quite lumpy pig which I throw backhand and one new pig for forehand approaches. Overall great disc, could not recommend enough!

The berg for people who hate the berg! This non-glidey, very torque resistant disc flies dead straight on forehand or backhand when you pump it, and can be a reliable flex shot too. I love it for 200 foot dead straight shots that I don't want to turn over. I also use this disc as a get out of jail card when im in the woods with a tight, straight forehand shot. Love the feel of the thumbtrack and the depth (especially compared to the berg).

When thrown at like a 6 speed for me this goes about 220 feet with 0 turn and 0.5 fade. If thrown at 3 speed, the flight numbers of 3103 are likely accurate.

Fantastic as an approach disc when you need to hit a spot and have your disc stop on a dime or throw a big hyzer with a lot of fade without it skipping. The R-Pro plastic really helps to absorb impact when it lands so that it won't bounce, and I also use mine as a putter because of how well it grips chains, but the downside is that it beats in VERY fast. Mine has already started to become very understable after only a couple months of throwing it. Will definitely be getting another in the future though.

I was a bit skeptical of the thumbtrac when I first picked this disc up, but man does it feel great. The overstable approch slot is maybe the slot that can save you the most strokes when utilized properly, and this is what I've been using. This is very overstable, so it consistently has reliable fade. The r-pro plastic is very nice. I have two, one more beat in. Once it beats in, it glides a bit more and has some more forward push, but has a reliable fade. If you believe in mold minimalism, giving this a shot can benefit your game. I also have one in the test-pro plastic from the sun dried vibes run, and it seems to act like a more beat in r-pro, but with harder plastic and more skip. So having both plastics benefit me because one skips and one grabs a bit more. The pig has changed my game and I will continue to use this within 250 feet to get me in putting range.

The good: the pig is hands down the best feeling frisbee in the hand. It has no equal. It also beats in and goes from overstable approach disc to straight flying mid range. Seriously a beat in pig will go sneaky far.

the bad: limited plastic types. If they would start producing these in premium plastics this would flood more peoples bags.

This is incredible! I picked these up and haven't gone back. I was skeptical at first of the thumbtrack and plastic but I don't have a disc that feels better in the hand than this. Super consistent! The R-pro plastic feels amazing. It does break in more quickly than others, but I cycle these. I haven't found that they become unusable. I currently carry two in the bag and it is amazing! One flippier pig and one new one are a great combo. I throw them a ton. It is my go to driving putter!

I got this for my son for his birthday two years ago so he'd have his own putter; but he hasn't wanted to use it much -- or other putters either, still feeling most comfortable with the flight of drivers he throws. So it doesn't sit and go to waste, I've started using it instead at times, and personally I really like the feel of both the grippy, flexible plastic, and the "Thumtrac" contouring around the top of the rim: it provides an all-around better grip and control. It does seem better to me as an approach disc than a true putter (compared to my regular putter), but then maybe that's just because it's different from the beaded putter I commonly use (and more overstable). I keep trying to point out to my son the bonuses of using the Pig instead of his drivers for both putts and shorter approaches: more control, less skip/roll, better for catching and dropping in the chains. Hopefully I'll convince him to make use of the Pig's utility.

I love throwing Pigs. The deep feel in the hand was a new sensation at first but it quickly became a comfort. If you need dependable overstability for backhand and forehand this is the disc. It also beats in really well so as you use it more it will straigten out and glide more, which is excellent for someone who likes to minimize molds!

Extremely overstable when new, but just play a couple putter only rounds with it and it will be your favorite disc. After beat in you can hyzer flip and throw 300 on a line. Also maintains low speed fade so still great for touchy upshot's I bag 3 in different stages of ware.

My tour of approach discs finally brought me to the Pig.

I am a big fan of the Zone and like to challenge its spot in my bag regularly. The Pig didn't kick it out, but rapidly evolved into my go-to all around disc for short tees and headwind putts. It's now my favorite for one disc rounds.

I've only thrown R-Pros so far. One of them (older and second hand) has maintained some overstability. The newer one (early 2022 run) beat in quickly to a neutral but reliable flier and shows some flip and turn when throwing 250' or more.

I use the Pig like I use my Comet, except when I don't want any glide and want a disc that does exactly what I tell it to with more torque resistance and the tendency to stick a landing. I don't worry about it gliding past targets because it's less likely to respond to the wind or stay in the air longer than I want it to.

The Pig will tend to absorb impacts and stop exactly where it hits. It will skip a bit when thrown fast on shallow angles, but minimally. It is a great short range roller disc due to its rim shape.

The Pig is not a Berg. The Berg is a circular brick that tends to pitch over on anhyzer faster than I'd expect but has its unique role. The Pig is a chubby putter that acts like a chubby putter.

The Zone remains my go-to for OS approach duties. It's reliably OS, skips a bit more than the Pig especially in Z plastic, and is a bit more comfortable to FH for me.

I'm not used to the handfeel for FH yet, but it fits my square hand for BH very well.

Flight numbers are always dubious but the 4 speed on a Pig seems like marketing to compete with the approach market. 3 1 0 3 seems about right.

    I love my Pig!

It has niche uses, but when you need it, nothing holds a line better.

The lack of glide adds to the consistency on windy days.

I throw the pig when I have a basket at about 11 o'clock guarded by trees. throw this dude on a hyzer and watch it bomb down on the basket & park.

This disc does have its niche, but unless you are 2021 Ricky Wysocki or just a much stronger arm than myself, it is basically a short distance meat hook disc.

I use it for shorter forehand or backhand shots where I am playing on an angle and I do not want the disc to take off and roll. I will also use it if the basket is located on top of a hill or on a slope, and I want it to hit the ground and stay put. The third reason you may see me throw my Pig is for get out of trouble shots when I want to toss out a putter with some hyzer, and I don't want it to roll a ton once it finds land.

I would never use this disc to putt with, as it isn't shaped great for a putter and feels a bit heavy and awkward to be able to feel consistent with it. With my arm speed, I also do not feel like this putter is an option for putter drives or if I really care about distance.

I thought this disc was all hype. But boy was I wrong. I was at the NADGT national championship last year where it was insanely windy. Being from Alaska I play a lot of woods golf and it usually isn't very windy and as such the bag of discs I took to Austin reflected that. 2 of the 3 days of tournaments the wind was insane. I didn't have any discs that would handle that wind... after a terrible 1st round I realized I got a pig in my players pack and decided I would give it a try... and... pun intended... the Pig saved my bacon. Totally an amazing disc

Marked as a putter, but better for an approach disc, or even a throwing putter in general. Very strong fade, but very straight until it slows down. Easy to throw hard with the R-Pro plastic being flexible and resistant to wobbel.

I rated this as "not beginner friendly," however, it really depends on your intentions. If you want this as a straight putter or approach disc then you're going to struggle with this disc. However, if you understand that this is more of a utility disc that you pull out in key situations, like headwinds, spike hyzer approaches, approaches that need to turn a corner, forehand approaches, etc, then this disc is perfect. You know exactly what it's going to do so you need to aim accordingly and let the disc do the work. I use this a lot for the shots mentioned above and really enjoy this disc.

I  bag 175G R-Pro Pig.  I live above 5000' elevation in Wyoming with regular winds speeds that easily exceed 50mph

Plastic: R-pro is a grippy, rubbery plastic.  It is pretty soft and has lots of give to it but isn't floppy in the hand.

Flight: What can be said about the pig that hasn't already been said.  It is an overstable approach disc.  It is a reliable disc both forehand and backhand and excels in limiting the amount of ground play.  I personally only throw this disc RHFH, I have other molds that I prefer for backhand.  I am able to trust this disc into moderate winds all the way out to around 250'.  Much past that and I have tendency to "muscle up" to much and lose control and usually roll the wrist. This disc can handle winds as long as you get a smooth release.  If you release with wobble, the flight can be unpredictable.  The thumb track doesn't really stand out too much for me, however some do not like the feel.  If you are looking for a trust worthy, overstable flight that wont get a lot of ground action, the pig is the only way to go.

Conclusion: Due to the thumbtrack, I wouldn't say this is a one-size-fits-all kind of disc.  It has a bit of a chunky feel in the hand with a rounded nose.  Might have a slight micro-bead and or just a hard edge.  Flat top with the thumbtrack make this feel really good in my hand.  I would probably recommend this for beginners and experienced players alike.  Beginners will be able to use this as a reliably overstable, wind fighting approach disc that wont get a lot of ground action and is good at sitting on hill sides etc.  More experienced players will be able to shape more lines with this disc as well as being able to almost bridge this into a shorter mid-range disc (which I believe Innova has changed this from putt&approach to a mid range classification, I don't know for sure.)  This disc is worth picking up even if its just to give it a try! I would say the flight numbers are accurate for this disc.

The Pig is one of the most popular putt & approach discs out there for a reason. Low glide and a reliable hard fade make for nice, controlled approaches, especially if it's windy or you need to hyzer around some trees. The overstability also makes it great for forehand approaches up to medium-ish power.

This disc is amazing. What I think separates the pig from a few other approach discs is the low amount of glide. This thing is so controllable because it is overstable and wants to get down to the ground. It is almost impossible  to turn this disc over. Another fantastic element is the R-pro plastic. It doesn't want to skip, unlike the zone, and makes it reliable for approach shots. I predominantly throw this forehand, but this is also a great backhand disc. Can't say enough about the pig/.

This disc is going to be very hit or miss for most folks. And it comes down to one thing, the profile. Super squared off nose, and thumb track to boot! that's enough to make some folks not take a second look at it. I didn't know I liked thumb tracks till I found a pig on the course. Works great and fits my hand well for forehands, and the disc just feels cozy having a perfect spot for my thumb on the track for back hands.

The numbers are true the pig is a stable boy, great for spike hyzer towards the basket, and nice approach flex shots through and around obstacles. If you havent found your over stable approach disc yet, well now you have.

Awesome for forehand approaches.  I'm a predominately forehand thrower so when I discovered this disc I had to get more than one for my bag.  The overstability gives it reliable fade in pretty much all weather conditions.  The grippy plastic also helps prevent skipping around the basket.

This Disc Is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is my go-to forehand approach disc to get me out of trouble and for scrambling. It has a thumtrac on the outside that provides great grip and feel in the hand. It also has a slight dome that gives it optimal comfort in my hand. It flies well backhand but I prefer to throw it forehand for pitch-outs and tricky shots that require touch. If you play in a wooded course at all the pig is a must-have.  Can't recommend this enough. #pigs4life

By far my favorite mold I've ever thrown. Brand new pigs are very overstable and very torque resistant. I can throw these as soft as a putt or as hard as a driver and I always get the result I want. Forehands are also extremely nice with the Pig. Once they beat in enough, they become straight flyers. Couldn't say enough good things about the pig.

Really great for backhand upshots that will stick to the ground once it reaches its destination. Pretty overstable. Thumb track will either be a hit or miss for some. As mentioned in many reviews this disc just falls a little short when it comes to handling the torque generated from a forehand so you must have good control when doing so.

This disc was reliable for backhand upshots, without burning out and falling out off the sky. everything you need.

My issue with the disc is on the forehand. when looking for a forehand upshot disc I need something torque resistance that I can power up when needed. forehand pig shots from 150ft are fine when only using the flick of your wrist. However any off axis torque caused the pig to dump off to the left when trying to throw a harder forehand (right hand). In my opinion the zone is much more torque resistant when putting more power into a forehand with the same backhand control.

TL:DR, Pig is good for backhands, unreliable for forehands. Buy the Zone

Every player should have an overstable approach disc in their bag. There are tons of options available but the pig blows the competition away for me. The thumbtrack rim is very comfortable, the plastic will stick where it lands, and the overstability of the disc allows me to trust it no matter the conditions.

This is going to sound like a broken record, but the Pig is the best approach disc I've thrown. Anytime I have a distance that is just outside of standard putting range and I don't fully want to commit to running, I go to this disc. Throwing it on forehand flex with a little bit of a high flight is optimal as it settles down nicely and sticks well. The Pig allows the luxury of safely running the basket from a non-optimal position without repercussion and has definitely taken away situations I used to two-putt in. A fine addition to my collection.

First bought this because I saw Ricky Wysocki bragging about it. I love throwing this disc for upshots. The grip on this disc is great! It is easy to throw forehands and doesn't get effected too much with power backhands. I have 2 pigs in my bag and use it sometimes when I don't want to use my midrage. It is best to describe this as a throwing putter and I have never bothered trying to put this. I say you better get one now as it is as famous as the Luna!

The pig is an amazing approach disc. The grip is what sets this disc apart from all other approach discs. The fat rim fits so comfortably in your hand when you use  a power grip, it just fills up your hand so comfortably. It almost feels like your squeezing a stress ball instead of gripping the rim of a disc.

This disc will fly pretty stable for a putter, but when you really rip it, it will turn a little bit on the initial part of the flight, then at the end of the flight it will fade hard to the left and sit within about 10 feet of wherever it lands. Although this disc does not have a ton of glide, the fat rim that allows a very comfortable power grip allows you to rip this putter harder than any other putter. This is my farthest flying putter as a result. I can get my pig out comfortably 300ft on a full rip. I absolutely love this disc. I bought 5 of them because they always seem to be sold out and my approaches are not as enjoyable without them in my bag. When I had to play rounds without my pig, I could get by using a Prodigy A2 for most shots that I would usually use a pig, but the pig feels better in a power grip than my A2 does.

Love this disc. Have tried to find a 200 ft disc that does anything better and it is impossible to. Forehands go straight and then fade at the end, backhands will hyzer flip and then dump at the end, you can force flex it too if you really want to throw it 230-250ft. It goes exactly the length you throw it and then just dumps out of the sky and sticks. Its my best approach disc, have tried crystal flex zones, pure from latitude, Prodigy a3's, westside harp all are good and have their uses but the Pig is the one that I will always choose.

One disc rounds have become a favorite of mine, especially with some beginner courses around that top out around 250-265ft from the short pads, and every time I'll choose the pig as my one disc. Does not disappoint.

While it was nice and calm by my house, at the course I was surprised to have 20mph sustained winds, 35mph gusts. Good weather to test out an overstable approach disc. Well, contrary to what I've read on these other reviews, my Pig is not flat-topped, it is domey. And consequently, throwing it in the wind gave it a lot of lift. It definitely did not cut through wind like I'd hoped. I also had with me a Zone, which Is flat-topped, and a Kastaplast K3 Berg, which is quite concave-topped. Of the three, I found the Pig to be the least useful on this particular windy day. The lift made it unpredictable. Maybe I just got a bad one, but there were other R-Pro Pigs in the store and they were all domey.

Nice overstable putt and approach disc. It can handle some speed and not turn over at all and always fades. I am personally not a fan of the thumbtrack edge but I use it in the wind and for approach shots all the time. Not a putting putter personally because I like more glide but i pull it out for a variety of upshots. Great back hand and forehand disc.

    175 grams R-Pro Pig

The Innova Pig is a great overstable putt and approach disc.  I do not putt inside the circle with the Pig, that is Aviar territory.  The Pig is great for longer putts in the wind and approaches.  It is flat with a moderately deep rim, so comfortable for backhand or forehand.  The lack of any significant glide, makes the Pig a very reliable upshot disc.  The R-Pro plastic seems to be fairly durable with plenty of grip.  The Pig will fly similar to other overstable approach discs like the Harp or Zone, but I think it fits more comfortably in the hand.

I had to get one of these to see what all the fuss was about. Also, I couldn't resist the spectacular sunglasses-wearing flying pig stamp that I saw available. This disc in max weight does a lot of things well, but traveling for distance and glide are not among them. This model excels at allowing you to provide a good deal of power, yet know that you won't fly by your desired target either through the air or skipping/sliding on the ground. Just throw it as hard as you need to get where you're going. Think big wet sponge! Because of the healthy fade of the disc, it works well for both forehand and backhand shots. I like to use this for drives in the under 230 foot range or approaches where I need the disc to hold onto the ground around a fast green. This is a pretty unique disc, but quite a bit of fun once you get to know it.

The pig has been so useful for my forehand approaches and short drives. Its stability is perfect for plenty of power, and its finish is consistent and grippy. If you pay attention to this disc, it will improve your forehand. Oink oink!

This disc has been a revelation as a throwing putter. I lean on it constantly for drives and approaches. I’m no Wysocki, but I have above average forehand power and it is great from that side in particular. This is my first ‘no glide’ putter. It is a brick, in a good way. You provide whatever power you require to get the shot shape you want and it sticks the landing. The strong overstability means it flies reliably in the wind. My home course has some relatively short (average 250 feet) drives that require a high line to avoid trees followed by a steep drop towards the basket. I go with the Pig every time. Finally, the R-Pro plastic and unusual rim feel very secure in the hand. I have used this as a putting putter a few times in strong winds, but not enough to provide an informed opinion on that use yet.

If you are new, get one of these for approaches. In the open this disc is so easy to put on a big hyzer and put it where you want it. Very intuitive hyzer flight. With little chippers in the woods you can throw little slow motion flex flicks or anhyzers that just fall out of the sky. Gives you a good bid to run putts without overshooting your target.

I LOVE this disc!  Uneven ground, roots, trees, forehand, backhand dumps, this disc does it all.  I trust this thing in the wind easy, and I can putt it from 15 - 20 feet more consistently than any of my other putters.  The Pig keeps you safe in unsure situations and the R Pro plastic beats in nicely.  This disc can spike hyzer, absolutely crash into the ground, flex, and bounce 2 feet. It's magic!  The Pig can take a beating!  Definitely bag one!

This has quickly become my go-to approach disc. If its within 100ft I'm throwing this thing on some kind of forehand hyzer to the basket. It always has a reliable overstable flight and when it hits the ground it sticks. My accuracy has improved greatly since using this disc and I can't wait to see what happens when this plastic beats in.

I would highly reccomend this to anyone struggling with their upshot game. Its a simple tool to make a nervey shot seem easy, every time.

The pig from Innova is a fairly low profile, flat, and thick rimmed putter with an interesting "thumtrac" rim that fits really nicely in my hand. An extremely useful utility putter. This thing is probably on par with putters like the harp, rhyno, ringer gt, or zone, but where it really stands out for me is its beautiful LACK of glide.

It's reliably overstable and glides like a brick, which is perfect for upshots. You can really dial in your distance with this thing. It just goes right where you throw it, and the pro plastic helps it sit without any wild skips or rolls. Great for short drives, fighting the wind, scrambling, rolls, overhead and forehands. It really can do it all. Inside circle 1 and 2 though I really only use it for heavy headwind putts, outside c2 putts would be really difficult because its so overstable. Everything else within about 70 meters is pretty much fair game. I really trust this thing to do a lot of the work for me out on the course and I always keep a pig in my bag.

I love this disc for forehand approach shots when there's an obstacle blocking a simple backhand shot, or for when you want the disc to skip/roll as little as possible. I'm generally a forehand driver but tend to use backhand for approach shots, but the Pig has definitely changed that. I love throwing this disc because I can give it decent power and know it will hit the deck predictably and fairly quickly.

I mostly bought this disc because of watching Ricky Wyscocki and didn't expect to be able to use it regularly, but I've been pleasantly surprised. Give it a shot if you want to try more forehand approach (although based on reviews people love it for hyzer backhand approaches as well).

    R-Pro, 175 grams.

Initially picked this disc up as I needed something in the bag a bit more stable than a brand new R-Pro Dart. It did not disappoint.

The Pig is great for: sidearm hyzer upshots, fighting through a headwind on a predictable line, and approaches to downhill greens where you need a 'putter' to not skip away and fall fast. I even use it for shorter, uphill power drives that require the drive to come to a quick stop. All very precise shots that you will come across playing a lot of golf.

A utility disc that will be in my bag for years to come

I very much enjoy throwing Rhynos. My DX Rhyno is one of my favorite discs. I have a wrist injury though where throwing beaded discs is extremely inconsistent, and so I picked up a Pig as it is a beadless Rhyno. For all intents and purposes, this is the same disc, minus the bead, and the fact it takes just a hair more power to get it to do what you want it to do.

Those subtle differences are making me want to go back to the Rhyno even though it is less consistent for me. The pig feels great in the hands, but for some reason, having to throw it that little bit harder, makes it less accurate on a lot of closer-up shots where I can pin the Rhyno to the pole. For whatever reason, the Pig just seems more under-stable than the Rhyno does, and when my Rhyno would drop to th eleft, the pig has less fade and tends to overshoot my target by a few feet... which is a big deal sometimes.

I still enjoy this disc, and assume it will become better for me as it breaks in and as I get use to the differences, I will probably like this disc more, but the Rhyno hit that sweet spot where it was a go-to disc for many shots. I was hoping the Pig would just fill that role well, but I tend to hesitate now and have even gone for my shark on a few shots where formerly I would pick the Rhyno, but the Pig just doesn't feel right.

I'm still torn. I like this disc, but don't love it.

What can I say? I absolutely LOVE this Putt & Approach Disc! Brand new it will start with a bit of a dome, definitely VERY overstable. But the real magic comes once it is broken in! You get a nice puddle top on the disc and it stables out a bit. A go to for all my forehand and backhand approaches from 70-200 feet. Favorite part of this disc is its teeth(figuratively)! It will basically stick within 1-15 feet from its landing spot. Easy 5 stars.

The R-pro Pig is a must have for anyone that wants to make their game better or really likes throwing Innova molds. I have had so much fun throwing this disc and if I did not love throwing zones as much I would bag one to two pigs. The Pig is the typical overstable approach or driving putter with low glide and a shallow rim feel. You can throw this thing for all your shots whether it be backhand, forehand, overhand, or whatever other crazy throw you need. It will increase consistency and make your approach game all around better. The pig can be thrown on a straight angle and it will fade out slowly very quickly out of the hand. You can throw it on a hyzer and trust that it will hold that hyzer and get to the ground. If you want to drive with the pig you can put it on some anhyzer and you can watch it slowly fight out and then consistently fade to the ground. The pig is kind of a confusing thing for beginners because when they think of a putter they do not think of using it for approaches or short tee shots. But if you look at almost every experienced player they will have a disc like a pig in their bag because of how often you can use it and how much it helps your game. Do not get the pig as a putting putter it has such little glide and is so overstable it won't be the best option but do get it as a throwing and approach putter you can trust all the time in almost all wind conditions. I love the ability to beat up the R-pro plastic as well and get straighter flying pigs than a new one. I am certain you will love throwing the pig and will find how useful this thing can be for you if you go out and get one.

    Disc: 175g R-Pro Pig

This is one of the most-used discs in my bag. The softer plastic makes it great for upshots that need to settle quickly or avoid roll-aways. It's overstable with very little glide, making it a good disc in headwinds and crosswinds. I find the "Thumtrac" comfortable for backhands, and I even use this disc for putting on windy days. I'm starting to like it for forehands as well, although it took some time to get used to. While it's comparable to to the Zone, I'd say the Pig is slower, straighter, less glidey, deeper-rimmed, and less torque-resistant. I prefer the Pig for most shots, but the Zone for sidearms.

    Disc - 170 R-Pro Pig

Feel - The pig is a very unique feeling disc. The underside of the rim feels almost identical to a zone while the top has the thumb track rim like a rhyno. The pig is very comfortable in my hand though; the thumbtrack is hardly noticeable especially after a few throws and the rim is shallow and narrow enough to be very comfortable for both forehand and backhand shots. R-Pro plastic is great for upshots that you need to stick on the green because it is nice and grippy but still durable enough to trust it to hold the over stability of the disc.

Flight - The pig is a great disc for many types of shots. It can be used off the tee for short drives, for upshots, and to get out of trouble. I mainly use this disc for upshots because of the sticky nature of the plastic so it just sits where it lands without a skip. The pig is very overstable so you always know where it will go and has little glide which is nice so you do not go too far past the basket on upshots.

Overall - The pig is definitely a great disc and I would say underrated compared to the zone and the harp but this disc does many of the same things as those discs. I wouldn't recommend this disc to beginners as the over stability could harm their form but as players move up this is a great disc to have in the bag.

I love this disc on upshots because it always has a reliable hyzer finish, and it has extremely low glide so that I will not go past the basket. It is deeper than most all putters. In my opinion, this is one of the best upshot discs ever made.

This disc is similar to the discraft zone but I found it much easier to control because of the low glide. With just a little bit of speed control this disc will be a go to on every approach. The R-Pro plastic has a soft feel and has a great grip even in the rain. This disc is a must have in every bag.

When Pigs fly... As a first year thrower, still developing my skills, and curious about the many different molds and plastics, I ordered a couple of R-Pro Pigs to see what they were about... After several weeks of throwing, and starting to get a grasp for the flight characteristics of several different putter molds, I will share what I have found to be a disc with a different flight path than any other so far..... At least as applied to my experience to date.. Being able to throw several different putter molds 200 to 225 feet consistently and with accuracy,  I decided it was time to try the Pig... Throwing with a stiff cross wind, 10 to 15 M.P.H. the Pig was solid.. It was not affected very much, literally hardly at all by the wind. It held the line it was put on,,, flew really flat on a flat release, and had minimal fade... The fade was there, but not very pronounced. Barely any fade at all, because it just stalled out.  When it came to the end of it's flight, it basically just dropped, like it hit a wall... At first I tried to get more distance, and tried to generate more snap/speed (RHBH), but really couldn't get much more out of it, about 175 to 185 feet consistent with accuracy, as compared to several other putter molds getting 200 plus feet easily... But, I was amazed at how this dropped and died at the end of the flight,,,, Done,,,, Where it stopped  and landed is where it was, as if it was stuck... I can see, at least for me, that this will stop on a dime... Perfect for upshots that could have consequences if you went long or skipped to the side ... I know I will bag an R-Pro pig just for this reason alone... If you have not tried the Pig, you could be missing out on a very usable tool in your arsenal.  Pigs do fly... I believe the Speed of 3 is accurate, the Glide of 1 is also accurate, not much glide at all,,,, the Turn as advertised as 0 is also spot on, but I really did not think the fade of three was accurate,,, My discs all behaved as a fade of 1 or 1.5 max... YMMV... I am 6'2", big hands, athletic build, but a newer thrower, and this disc felt good in my hand, and the R-Pro plastic is grippy.. Overall a nice disc, and one that could find its way into your bag if given the chance...5 stars...

The r-pro pig is a must-have approach putter.  This thing lands and stops dead.  It has a great feel in the hand with the thumb-track and beadless rim.  On the flip side, the new runs are more domey.  I prefer the older, flatter runs. So unfortunately I can only give this disc 3 stars because Innova needs to get back to what made the pig so great to begin with.

The Pig has quickly become one of my favorite discs in my bag. I was looking for an overstable put and approach disc and the Pig seemed like the obvious choice. Initially using the Pig was not love at first throw but over time it was able fit a niche in my game and quickly became a reliable go-to. I use it mostly as a throwing putter for shorter hyzer lines that require a quick fade. The Pig also rotates to my primary putter during high wind days when stability is a must. While developing my forehand game the Pig has also been a big factor. The lip/grip just feels right for short forehand flicks in my hands. The R-Pro plastic feels different to me than other R-pro discs Ive had in the past. very grippy and very stiff. Overall I would I highly recommend this disc, just have patience to learn the disc before you can watch the pigs fly! (sorry couldn't help myself).

This disc is a must have for shots where you need to be precise, like island holes or OB, and for a windy day putter. This disc will always fade and you can count on it staying close to wherever it hits the ground with no skip, which makes it crazy dependable for the nerve racking holes with tons of OB. It holds up well for either the forehand or backhand.

It really doesnt glide and it sits down nicely, no skip or slide away. My favorite disc. My pig (175g R-Pro) completely reinvented my approach game. As a backhand dominant player, I now find myself opting for a forehand approach whenever possible. I love the way the pig feels for a forehand grip. If I am within standstill forehand pig range, I know I am leaving myself with a tap in. That confidence is priceless.

Certainly a predicable overstable flight when thrown as an approach, which is needed. But when I give this thing a full backhand rip it is dead straight for 90% of the flight and then dumps down left. I love how it falls out of the sky like that, makes it so predictable, the 1 glide is pretty accurate (I give it a 1.5, but still pretty glideless).

Lastly, the R-pro plastic is great. It lands and sticks. I wish more discs came in R-Pro.

    No doubt a 5-star disc.

R-Pro Pig (175g) - I felt one of these a little while ago, sort of picked it up on a whim, and I was surprised how well it felt in my hand. I ended up cashing in some points here on Infinite and buying one. I really like it! I wasn't really looking for a forehand approach disc to replace my Zone, but I was looking for something with similar characteristics with more of a putter feel that I could use in windier situations. I think I found that in the Pig and I've left it in my bag ever since. With forehand, I don't really notice the thumbtrac, but I like the beadless rim. For backhand approaches or putting in the wind though, I really like the thumbtrac and the overstability and lack of glide. It was instantly a good compliment for my Nova for putting, because the Nova will just sail away if there is even a little bit of wind. Like I said I already bag a Zone, but it is almost too overstable for soft, straight shots (which is why I love it, but not for everything); the Pig is overstable enough to use in the wind too, but I can actually throw it fairly straight. Normally I use the Nova for everything under 100ft, but like I said it is too susceptible to the wind. So I have the Pig now instead.

I use to have trouble throwing putters with excessive power. The pig has a wide rim with a thumb track which makes this disk one of the most comfortable discs I've held. For some reason using the pig has given me more confidence and ability to throw other putters with power. This disk is dependable, and when it breaks in you can throw it with near full power and it will go straight with a dependable fade. I only throw it backhand but i know many people use it for forhands. Lastly it doesn't really skip much and tends to just stick to wherever it lands.

If a disc golf hole is like a baseball game, then your distance drive is your starting pitcher. Get as close to the end as possible. Your putter is your closer. And the Pig is the ultimate middle reliever. He's there to safely get you to the pin with as few frills as possible. Man, do I love the Pig. If you're forehand dominant with your approach game, and you can handle the feel of the rim, GET A PIG. Hyzer it at the basket, it'll dump hard and stick. Give it an anny flick around the corner, the lack of glide will let it hold the anny for a long time considering the overstability, all it wants to do is hit the ground. The ONLY thing you gotta watch out for is making sure the Pig doesn't hit the ground vertically, the thick rim makes it wanna roll like a whee that just flew off your car. BUT! This makes it a great disc to escape from the woods when you throw it hard at the ground on a flick roll. You'll go surprisingly far with not a lot of power needed. And in the R-Pro plastic, you'll get surprising distance off the tee, especially when it gets beaten in a little. I've been able to throw three Pig plastics, and I'd say the Stiff Rick Pigs are the least stable, but still beefy. R-Pro in the middle, and the blizzard champion is the biggest beef of them all. Besides my putting putter, the Pig is my most indispensable disc. If you're a beginner, know that the Pig has a purpose, and that purpose is to be the second to last shot you'll take on a hole because your Pig is dive-bombing into the bullseye of the circle. The Pig is a great approach disc forehand or backhand. The overstability makes it super predictable even in the wind. There is a little thumb track around the edge of the disc on top that some people find annoying or uncomfortable. Personally, I think it makes the disc even more comfortable, especially for forehands. I use this shot within 150 feet for the most part, but can stretch it out farther if need be. Its flight is exactly as described, flies for a little then dumps out left (or right for forehands).

I don't use mine off the tee much unless it's a very short hole, otherwise it's typically a utility disc for me when I need to have strong fade to the basket.

The R Pro pig is a very underrated throwing putter, but it contends for my favorite disc in my bag. It has a very predictable hyzer at the end of the flight, and with the 1 glide and R Pro plastic it just wants to sit down and not do a ton of skipping and rolling. It also works amazingly for forehand. At first for forehand the flight would be very wobbly. But after getting used to it it flies very well with a predictable hyzer at the end. When I throw the pig hard, it flies straight with a somewhat hard fade at the end. I find myself using this all the time in open field and in the woods because of its predictability, even moreso than my roc3.

Once I got the hang of the rim and the texure, I feel confident flicking the Pig for anything between 15-50 feet. I use it for putting practice as well as the overstability doesn't impact the flight much (for me anyway) for puts between 5-20 feet.

I personally wouldn't use it as my main putter, but it's a lifesaver when I need it. Oink oink.

Amazing OS approach disc. Forehand, backhand, putting into the wind. Flys straight with dependable fade at the end. Great for flex shots. If I need to go over, around or through bushes and/or trees, I'm throwing the Pig.

My go to approach disc. Like everyone has said, very beefy in all plastics offered. I personally bag both an R-Pro and a Ricky Wysocki Pro Pig. They are slightly different discs. The R-Pro is beefier; The Ricky Pig has less fade and a hair less stability. I've found the Pro will skip forward, while the R-Pro will hyzer skip but very minimally. Useful to have both in my bag for that difference alone. Once beat in really well, it maintains stability but loses fade. I sometimes use this disc for emergency flick rollers that will roll around corners and mow over ground obstacles en route to safety. On the ground or in the air, the Pig's overstability allows pinpoint control on distance.

I also use this disc off the tee, once beat in I can pump it out to 275 RHFH throwing everything I can behind it - and you can do that, because this disc won't flip.

On the downside, an errant landing could lead to a roll away, and it's Juggernaut form can appear - use care around steep slopes. Some do not like the plastics offered, but i find them to be great for cycling for different characteristics. If you are trying to develop great form, this disc won't help, its OS hides blemishes in your form. This is a reliable disc for approaches but I still don't find it to have extreme precision for running baskets - but you can depend on it being within 15 ft of your target almost always.

This is one disc I dont ever see leaving my bag

Best forehand approach disc in the game. I've tried many of these type of discs and this one has given me the best results. It's very overstable, very predictable, and comfortable to grip (backhand too). I was first wary of how this disc didn't come in a very premium plastic, but due to it's incredibly thick rim, it wears in very slowly. This disc doesn't really start to turn either, it just starts to fade less and hold annies longer. This is a great disc for newer players who struggle with rolling their wrist over, and this disc should allow them to see immediate improvements in their forehand game. Maybe won't teach them, but if they are like me they'll want more immediate results.

For the past 3.5 years since I started playing I never once thought about the Pig.  I've thrown the ryno, the aviar3, the aviarX3 and the harp.  All of which are great discs but none of them seem to have that "glideless", fall out of the sky drop to them that I;ve recently found with the Pig.  I started working the forehand touch approach into my game last year and I was using the hyzerbomb mortar. Great disc but it would get a tone of ground action even when thrown softly.  This year I began the search for an overstable, slightly soft forehand approach putter.  The R Pro Pig was the first one that I tried and right off the bat I knew it was right for me.  The feel in the hand is perfect.  I wasn't sure about the thumb track but once I actually held one its very comfortable.  I throw this disc on forehand shots anywhere from 100' to 225' or for tricky putts that need to drop almost as soon as you release them.  I chose the R Pro rather than the new Wysocki Pro Pigs purely for the fact that they sit where they hit the ground.  We have a good amount of wooded courses and sticking the greens are important.  If I am playing for the ground play I will throw my C line MD5 since that likes to skip.  Overall the Pig is a great, and often over looked disc in the Innova line up.  I wish I would've found it earlier on.

Ricky "Slick Rick" "Raptor Legs" "SockiBomb" Wysocki has found himself the closest to a harp as innova will get i think. An AviarX3 is also nice but this flies closer to a harp than anything else I have from innova's lineup. I like the feel in the hand and the cool indent on top fits right where my thumb is when i forehand it so it feels nice and tight when i throw.

I have been using the Pig for about 3 weeks and it has really grown on me.  It took me a bit to get used to the feel and shape but I love it for off the tee.  It has a strong dependable fade that is very predictable.  Upshots are great as well because it hits and sits.  Would not recommend for beginners due to the strong fade.

If you are looking for an overstable putter, this thing is what you are looking for. Its not going to get down the fairway real far, but it is great off the tee and for upshots. The lack of glide makes it easy to dial in your distance. It does have a rather thick rim, so it is a bit different feeling then other putters.

This is the best Innova forehand approach disc. Unlike the harp, Aviarx3, and some zones, the Pig is an absolute brick. If you stink at putter forehand and get wobble action, this disc will make you awesome and you will never over throw your spot. Often i feel i am cheating when I throw this. It has a very thick rim, which helps a ton for flicking. While it dumps hard and can roll after hitting the ground, it does not skip. Guys rave about stiff Pro Pigs, but honestly the r-pro works really well; I feel it's a better plastic for touch and helps the disc sit on the ground. Plus r-pro beats in to make the pig a short straighter flier. One of the most underrated discs in the game. If somehow the zone didn't jive with you, try a pig.

My review of this disc is for Pro plastic (not R-Pro or Blizzard).  My opinion is this disc is Innova's Harp.  My upshot disc has been a DD BioFuzion Suspect (which fades harder than my Lucid Suspect).  I also own a VIP Harp and I found the Pig to be more stable (at least when lightly used).  I like the flight of the Harp, but I don't like the deep rim which is why I've used a Suspect instead of a Harp.

The Pig has lower profile than the Harp.  Not quite as low profile as the Suspect but not much deeper.  When I first held this disc it felt rather odd.  It has a thumb track and a very wide rim for a putter.  The disc feels comfortable for both forehand and backhand drives.  It is very stable and handles wind very well.  I typically drive with an Axiom Proxy or an MVP Particle off the tee but the Pig will likely be replacing those discs on windy days.  For me the disc goes nice and straight with a strong fade at the end of the flight.  I found this disc to handle wind better even better than my DD Verdict.  Unlike my Suspect, this disc pretty much stays where it lands.  The Pro plastic is mildly stiff yet gummy.

An awesome looking cute angry Pig stamp from the Innova Pro Shop is the icing on the cake.  This is a fantastic upshot disc.  I'm surprised this disc isn't more popular - perhaps this is because not everyone likes the R-Pro plastic (which I've never used).  I found the flight numbers to be spot on.

Great putter. Has a heavy hyzer to it, but i love the feel. Real nice in my hand. I use it for upputts and headwind putts. I also use it as a hyzer midrange. It sits nice under the basket with a heavy skip.

I got a Pig to phase out the Harp from my bag as I was transitioning from a mixed bag to an all Innova bag, it replaced it with perfection. It is a little more stable than a Harp but it has that hard left (RHBH) finish I was looking for and it works wonders for a sidearm putter shot as well. It eats a headwind like its nothing, If you're looking for a great overstable approach disc go with a Pig

There is a pro pig making the rounds of the country on /r/thetravelingdiscs and I got to throw a whole round with it- and it only. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would.

The Pig can handle everything you give it. It wont turn over off the tee, which I loved. Thrown hard and flat itll ride straight then hook up in the end for a strong dependable fade. I actually liked the flight better than my ESP Zone which starts hyzering out early. Thrown on an anhyzer it will hold the angle for a little bit then fight out of it and come back. Spike hyzer? It'll certainly do that. The Pro plastic stuck where it hit.

Putting wise its not too much of a hog to putt with. It's certainly not an ideal putter for anyone who push putts or spushes, but for a spin putter with a little hyzer I could see it working out well.

There's a definite chance that a Pig is going to find its way into my bag.

I absolutely LOVE my Pigs. I keep two in R-Pro plastic for windy putting and two in stiffer Pro plastic for almost all approach shots. The pro and r-pro plastics have great grip and reliably sit down once they land. You can always count on this disc to fade at the end. Also the pro stamp is the best stamp in disc golf. #guccipig

The Pig was my first putter but quickly evolved into my go to approach disc for shots under 150'. Easy to throw backhand or forehand, the plastic is nice and sticky so won't skip much if thrown with a lot of spin. A downside to it is, they have a tendency to roll so be careful on hills or slopes. After learning how to throw control shots with my Buzzz's I don't throw it much anymore, though I do continue to bag it. It is still great for shots where you don't want skips. As a putter, it works great as well, very comfortable feel and always flies the same though they tend to go farther once broken in. Consistent and easy to throw disc, pick one up!

I picked up one of these discs in hopes that I would be able to drive with a putter, all my other putters turn over if I drive them or they are just not predicable. First drive off the tee box with one of these, I threw it like a normal putter and that thing just died instantly. So then i realized how overstable this disc actually was so I threw again with as much power as possible and that thing went very straight and had a very predictable fade like a destroyer type of fade. Using it for about 2 months I got my first ace with one at a tournemant and won $160 and had to hang it up on the wall and told it "that will do pig" and bought another one!

Just got the Pig recently in blizzard plastic (check out Innova's factory store to find one) , what a great disc, its been a gamechanger for me.  I have been looking for a good approach disc thats overstable but not a meathook and I have found exactly what I was looking for.  The Pig flies just as the flight ratings indicate, very little glide with a healthy end of flight fade.  I can throw this thing RHFH about as far as my Buzzz and much more realiably when throwing around multiple obstacles.  I don't get nearly as much distance with the backhand, but have confidence that it will land where i need it to.  My first round out with the pig I was able to beat my best score ever at my local course by two strokes, in which the Pig played a huge part of my approach game.  I can say with confidence that the Pig shaved strokes off my game.  I want to try one in R-Pro for dangerous basket placements, when a softer landing approach is essential.  Best approach disc i own, get yourself one.

The Pro Pig is nice and flat with a beefy rim so it feels great in my hand. It has perfect stability for approach shots both backhand and flick. The Pig made it into my bag immediately. I use the Pig at medium range, and also for short side arm shots. It is very stable with a strong purpose. I love this disc!!!

This is my favorite driving putter.  I don't know many people who putt with a Pig (me included), but as a short mid, it's fantastic.  Pigs tend to hit and stick so they are great as upshot discs.  They're also great to cycle.  After you get one beat in a little bit, it loses some of its fade without losing much high speed stability.  I usually have at least 2 in the bag.

the pig is a slightly faster version of the rhino and is a great windy day putt and approach disc. you can throw it hard off the tee without worrying about it turning and it will fade back dependably the only thing i don't like about the pig is it is currently made in R pro plastic that is not very durable.

Ah yes, the legendary Innova Pig. You may think you don’t need this disc, and you probably don’t…90% of the time. However, when the wind starts whipping, you’ll wish you had a piggy. And no, you can’t use mine when the gusts hit 40 mph. Although some use it to putt (quite effectively, I might add), the majority uses the Pig primarily as an overstable upshot disc or off-the-tee. The speed of the disc really places it between a midrange and a putter. Its rim is a little heftier than your average putter (better for cutting the wind), but still feels good in my hand (beadless). On a windy day, I can confidently throw the disc flat, and hard into a headwind, knowing it will fly straight, resist lift, and end with a healthy fade. The disc won’t overshoot a hole as it will only fly ~220’ for me. The disc resists skipping and usually sits very close to where it lands. It can be quite windy (30-40 mph winds) certain times of the year, and I always reach for my Pig for those crucial upshots in treacherous conditions. Unfortunately, Innova only makes the Pig in R-Pro plastic. Don’t listen to when the plastic snobs tell you that R-Pro Pigs are garbage; they are perfectly good discs. Pro Pigs tend to be stiffer and more durable, however, they are out of production (why, I will never know). Stiffer R-Pro discs tend to fly better in the wind. You will have to replace your R-Pro discs every one in a while as they beat in become less overstable, however, it takes a while and R-Pro is fairly inexpensive. This disc is an excellent choice for advanced to pro players in windy conditions. This is not a beginner putter. If you are into overstable putters (for putting), take a look at the Innova Rhyno. It is a slower Pig and is available in a wide variety of plastics. Similar discs would be the Discraft Zone (longer/faster, available in premium plastics, and tends to skip) or the Prodiscus Jokeri (available in premium plastics, maybe a little slower). New discs that are likely to be similar would be the DGA Breaker, Prodigy PA-1, or Dynamic Discs Suspect; however, I have no experience with these newer discs. For reference, I primarily throw control drivers for distance and play in the advanced category in non-sanctioned tournaments (placing in the middle of the group on average).

I've never actually used the Pig in a round yet, but from my basement putting tests this thing is a winner. The Pig is the perfect combination of grip and softness. The R-Pro is soft and grippy, but not so sticky that it sticks to your fingers on release. I also love the big bulky feel and it fits in my hands perfectly, allowing for the perfect popping relase. To me, this putter just feels good and goes in the basket every time. I'm not sure how it works as an approach disc, my basement isn't big enough, but I'm making more putts with the pig than just about any of the other 50 putters I'm playing with.
