Just started throwing a Gstar 162g this spring and I am so glad I decided to try this disc out! Right away this disc felt very comfortable in my hand and my first throw gave me exceptional and easy distance. It seems to be easier to control than some of my other understable discs, therefore a little more dependable. I max out at 280 to 300 feet ( I'm 63) and this is giving me a little turn but mostly goes very straight with some dependable but minimal fade. From what I've read, the Champion and Star versions are more overstable so if you throw 350+ then you should probably try those plastics. I measure the rim at just under 21mm wide so I would say this is a 10 or 11 speed disc, not a 12. For me it's the perfect width. This is my first Gstar disc and the plastic actually feels pretty good with nice grip. I'd say it fits between a Roadrunner and a Sidewinder with better distance.

This disc definitely has a spot in my bag.  I got it in GStar at a light weight (163g) with the intention of it being my down wind, glidey, flex-shot driver.  It is exactly that.  I don't have the biggest arm in the world.  After 2 years of discing, I commonly drive 280-320.  It'll turn over in a headwind, but with the wind behind me, or throwing up hill in calm winds, it is my best chance at getting a good, long, smooth S-cuve.

I never intended to use this disc, but ended up using my friends for a few weeks. Now this disc is not in my bag because I didn't really have a fit for it, but I would still recommend this to someone looking for a flippy driver. The Gstar version feels great and flies well too. It does seem to have more turn then advertised but none the less still a great disc.

I love G-Star plastic.  And it feels great on my Mystere. This disc is a hard one to describe. On an anyhyzer release it will flip up flat and carry forever before dumping at slow speed. This disc is very dependent on the speed of release.  It flies true to numbers at full power, at other speeds it can be tricky to figure out.  It is going to take time to learn, but can be a very rewarding disc for the right person.

Feel: This disc feels awesome in the hand. It has a slight dome that continues over the whole flight plate and onto the rim. The rim itself as wide, but not too wide. The Gstar plastic for me has always been a great one, especially in winter. couple the flexibility with the understablility of the mystere and you have a great snow disc.

Flight: This disc is flippy and has tons of glide. The speed allows this disc to still be useful to semi-high arm speeds like my own. On a nice hyzer flip angle this disc will pop up, drift over and the glide will do the rest, i smashed this disc out to 380' once, which stood as my distance record for a while. For a beginner, this disc will definitely fade out hard, but then again, so do all discs, the key to the mystere in its beginner friednliness is the glide, this disc truly has tons of glide, coupled witht the speed, the mystere will carry much farther than most other discs for a beginner.

Comparisons: This disc is pretty similar to a beat in champ sidewinder I have, a bunch more distance but very similar stability. As for feel, that's a little more difficult, maybe similar to a discraft thrasher or maybe a daedelus with a slightly thinner rim.

My friend actually purchased this disc with the Proto-Star stamp on it soon after they became available. After giving him grief for several rounds as he repeatedly turned the disc over and slammed a tree or worse, he handed the Mystere off to me. Assuming I would show him how its done, I proceeded to ruin my round attempting to figure the Mystere out. The name is apt on this one, as it was a genuine mystery how this disc would decide to fly each time you threw it. Let it be known that I'm not a professional disc golfer, and may not be the most consistent on occasion, but I did end up in 2nd place last season in the disc golf club I'm a part of. (I include this for context, not for personal pride. Who brags about 2nd place anyways?)

On to the characteristics of the disc. When thrown flat and with vigor, it turns over and hits a tree....or perhaps the ground where it might cut roll back to the fairway....but no, it will hit a tree. When thrown with hyzer, it will turn over, go right, and hit a tree. I don't even care if there aren't any trees to hit. It will go and find one. When thrown with anyhzer, it turns over much quicker and you will think you've just thrown a bomb roller. But then it will hit a tree. I think you get the picture.

I think that if you are a person that throws over 400 ft. this may not be a disc that you will enjoy. I was already a little skeptical when I purchased one from Infinite as I have thrown plenty of Wraiths, and they tended to be a little understable for me. With a glide rating of 6 turn rating of -3 I knew this disc was going to be a little more touchy, but I was hoping it would be the Shryke I never had. I was hoping for big flex shots when I threw full power. Instead, the disc was just too understable for me to appreciate. I think for a beginner this might be a great straight disc for both backhand and forehand players. If you have a faster arm speed, you may want to skip this one.

My husband bought this disc for me about a month ago and I cannot say enough good about it. Just by putting it in my hands, I have added about 25-35 extra feet off of my shots. I throw only side arm and this disc has an amazing S curve to it. I used it in about 20-25 mph winds over the weekend and it stayed true to its flight path. Definitely sticking up my bag with more of these and putting this disc as pretty much the only thing on my Christmas list this year! I would recommend this disc to just about anyone from beginner to advanced.

This disc is one that will if you put power to it if you have an above average arm will turn and burn. If I get a nice smooth release at about 85% this disc glides for days with a nice S curve that is very controllable. Have 2 in champion plastic. I would recommend to beginners as their first high speed driver because it is basically a longer Valkarie. Full power and hyzer flip it will still turn to the right but not as much.
