BEGINNERS, LEAVE THIS PAGE AND LOOK AT OTHER DISCS!!!!!

I am someone who absolutely loves forcing over OS discs and watching the S-Curves get some serious distance. This will NOT give you that distance. It is the epitome of a utility driver. Slabs and Maxes fly farther than this thing. It's insane.

That being said, if you are needing a utility driver, this would be the winner. It is especially good at flick rollers and LARGE skip shots. It could be used for thumbers too, I would imagine. If you want to try and challenge the stability of this disc, be my guest. Tread lightly!

I bought this disc thinking that I would be able to use this as a super reliable shot, but quickly realized I have NO WHERE NEAR the power the monster asks for. I thought I wasted my money but eventually instead of trying to tame the beast I've adjusted to its calling. This disc has quickly become the most fun disc I've ever used for one reason -- the skip shot. When thrown flat just above the ground at about 50% power this thing will touch the ground, skip, and take off at a wicked left hand angle. I couldn't count how many times I've skipped the monster now on blind hooks. It's just so satisfying to see the disc grow new wings once it hits the ground. It's a lot like when a disc hit a golf green and just skips off the surface but on almost any surface. I think I'll cry if I ever lose this disc is sooo much fun.

This is a very unusual disc, it feels a lot like an Orc in the hand, but the top piece is beveled somwhat like an Ape. It's fast, but not some kind of warp speed mutant. But i would go as far to say that as far an initial speed before the fade it's almost as fast as an Xcal.

That sounds funny since the rim is significantly smaller but the lack or glide makes it speed dependant, and it wants to be thrown hard.

I've mostly thrown them RHFH and when thrown flat for me it goes about 350 on a dead straight line. And then it's like it notices the ground, and hates it, wants to punish it and dives violvently to the right. Won't carry too far off it's line since the fade is so dumpy.

When thrown at max power it wont skip much, but at less than the fade is more hooking and makes for a good ulitilty skip disc.

Overall I wont keep it in my bag, but mostly only becuase I own 8 Firebirds. If I had found the Monster first, that story might be different.

What an incredible meathook. I am blown away. If you have a large tree 40-50 ft in front of you and a basket on the other side of the tree, you might try throwing your champ Monster a slightly powered down, steep anhyzer left(if RHFH) and have the Monster slice back with it's crazy fade and plunge right toward the basket. Like a faster 12x's Firebird or a slower more OS champion Max. Amazingly overstable.

Going back to my initial review, I believe I had an older mold champ monster (pre number) in which this review was based on. I ended up sallying on one of those water carries and haven't been able to fish it out. I tried to replace this with a new champ monster but that thing was absolute beef cake. Even with a decent arm it straight took off left and only netted about 250ft, well short of what I could do with the one I lost. I then picked up a star monster (pre number yet) and comparing to the champ mold, the wing was more slanted than a parabola and bead on the champ. This version of the monster is what I fell in love with on the monster I lost, straight for a while with a dependable fade as well as a great forehand disc. Case in point, just be wary the monster you are getting.
