The Monster is an Overstable, meathook type disc from Innova. The Monster was really good at throwing Firebird like lines, but it has a little bit wider rim. For me, the rim width seemed noticeable, I like the smaller firebird rim, but if you are comfortable with it, the Monster does some great things.

The monster that I used to bag was a 175G board flat star monster.  This disc was awesome!! Thumbers, tomahawks, forehand rollers, any kind of utility shot you can think of can be done with a monster.  I had a monster and a firebird in the bag at the same time.  The monster was too much disc for my forehand so that's what the firebird was for.  The only reason the monster isn't in my bag anymore is because I found myself reaching for the firebird way more since I could throw very similar shots to the monster but I didn't have to throw it nearly as hard.  It's kind of a bummer that they stopped production on the monster because it was such a useful disc.

One Disc Challenge I would pick a monster. I enjoy throwing the old candy plastic monsters. I have had my max weight monster for over 10 years. I have the hardest time throwing a firebird so the monster steps in for shots most would throw a firebird for. With the Idaho Falls, Idaho wind i know my monster is going to fight that head wind and still have the fade at the end. I also can put a little anhizer on it knowing if it has enough airtime it will come back. I am able to throw the monster 350 back hand and 325 forehand and with it low glide its going to go and just fall right out of the sky right in the basket.
