I recently threw an Invictus for the first time, I was curious how it would compare to my PD's and Romans since it has similar flight numbers.  My star Invictus had a big pop-top dome which was a little surprising, I usually only like that much dome on my distance drivers for maximum glide.  The Invictus has a somewhat strange flight pattern.  It's pretty fast, can take a lot of power and gets respectable distance for an overstable 10 speed.  It has a strong and dumpy fade at the end of its flight, once it starts slowing down it really crashes to the ground.  This strong late fade helps make it a predictable and controllable flier.

What surprised me about the flight was that it didn't seem to have much high-speed stability.  I like my overstable discs to be  able to handle anhyzer flex shots, both forehand and backhand.  When I threw the Invictus hard on a slight anhyzer it held the line for a long time and didn't really fight out of it.  I even burned it over into the ground a few times.  Because I was hoping for something more overstable (flight numbers of 10/4/0/3 printed on the disc) I only gave it 3.5 stars.  Decent disc, but not exactly the "longer Firebird" it was touted to be.

I always like the Star plastic discs for their feel and smooth release. I found my Invictus (no name/number) so I don't know how much it had been used previously, though it appeared to be in very good shape still (Star plastic does have good durability). Even as a used disc, this seemed to be much more overstable than the numbers would suggest: it seemed to be every bit as overstable for me as the Felon. I typically use other discs more often for drives and other shots, but this became a very useful disc when throwing into the wind (giving me just a longer version of the same consistent flight path), or needing reliable hard turns/skips. Never a question about how it was going to travel, which is a nice option to have available in the bag.

Very strange feeling rim. My friends and I ended up calling this disc a "dud" as no one could get it to fly. Maybe the Invictus just requires Ricky-level power, which I wasn't expecting at speed 10.

I bag 175G Star Invictus.  I live in Wyoming above 5000' elevation.

This disc is an overstable, control driver.  For me, the invictus is a forehand workhorse.  Its overstable enough to be ripped into head winds, on huge flex lines, and it will always have a hard finish.  It has enough glide to get decent distance before dumping out of its flight.  When ripped forehand flat release.I can get a nice "S" flight but always finishes hard.

I would not recommend this for newer players.  The 10 speed rating mixed with the overstability makes this a bit much for newer arm speeds.

This disc does what it is supposed to do. It is super overstable, and will always dive hard left(RHBH). My one issue with this is the feel. It has a sharp and uncomfortable rim which hurts my hand when I release it.

This is an ok disc that can fill the overstable driver/utility spot in your bag.  Mine has a little more dome than I was expecting and the rim takes some getting used to due to a funky lip.  Once I got used to it, I was able to get some great sidearm shots into the wind.  I have heard many compare it to a faster Firebird and that may be the case, but I don't have a strong enough arm to discern between the two.  There was just too much overlap with my Sexton Firebird to justify keeping both in my bag.  That being said, the Invictus could be a good replacement if you can't get your hands on a Sexton Firebird.

This disc is decent. Bought one and had in my bag for a sew weeks, removed it though, just because I couldn't justify carrying this and my '18 Sexton. It is a very overstable disc, and can handle a ton of torque. Not the best disc for beginners.

I love this disc for big forehand flexes and anhyzer backhand shots that fight out and finish hard left.  Great for headwinds and spike hyzers.  Several commenters have noted a sharper rim on this disc, and while I would agree that it's sharp, I actually enjoy the hand feel and find it makes me more conscious of my grip and release.  The swirly star plastic feels slightly stiffer than normal star, and the flat top makes this a great forehand ripper.

Starting out with throwing forehand, it's probably good, that's why im neutral about beginners having it.
I bag a "heartbeat" domey 175g. It flies similar to a stable destroyer for me, meaning I can turn it over with a headwind if I'm not careful.
Some say it's a "faster firebird", I say maybe. It holds itself to its name. Great for headwinds to come back, or utility, and great for distance placement shots if thrown flat, straight out and letting it hit the bullseye after the fade. I'm talking about 350, 375'ish where you can have more control than trying to stretch a firebird out there. It's that "in between" disc of a destroyer and firebird.

    Invictus star plastic 169g

RHBH - Keeps its line if you put some arm into it, used for utility / "meathook" throws when discing up from a Justice.

RHFH - It has the speed, stability and fade to reliably get you up the fairway or out of trouble as a non FH dominant player

If you're smart about when you use this disc, it will never disappoint.

On days without wind the disc is true to it's numbers. Like a faster, beat in firebird. Into a headwind (15+ mph) it flipped and hardly came back when thrown flat. Still comfortable in the hand. Also maybe a little too overstable to be good for beginners.

I heard this disc was a faster Firebird so I took a shot at it. Wow is this disc overstable. I have to really force it over to get extra distance but I always get a hard finish to the left (RHBH). It is almost a utility disc for me and I use it on a lot of holes in which I prefer the hard fade. I even almost got my first Ace with it!

Please don't make the same mistake I made and listen to Garrett Gurthie, a man with a veritable arm-cannon, call this disc a "faster firebird" and then get one thinking it will have a drastically different flight path. By the flight numbers, yes, it is a faster Firebird. But this flies JUST like a Firebird. Like, if I throw both discs, they will land in the same spot. Granted there are still benefits. This disc coming back and fading hard  left (thrown RHBH) is the only guaranteed thing in life next to death and taxes. Has it on occasion straightened out a bit more than my Firebird, or could I see that being the case with a little more arm speed and the disc being more broken in? Sure! But at that point, just get an FD3 which flies like a straighter Firebird. I think this is a nice addition to the bag if you want a little variety in your Firebird spot as this disc will break in a little differently. But trust me when I say this thing is beefy.

I love this disc. I can trust it to always finish left (RHBH). It's essentially a faster Firebird. I throw this a lot over water to make sure that it'll come back to land. Definitely not a beginner disc considering how overstable it is. Forehand or backhand, this disc is a great choice for spike hyzers or low skip shots.

This is a workhorse. If I had to throw any disc over a canyon or deep water and depend on it fading back to safety this is what I would throw. It is way more overstable than I thought, it is nothing close to a Firebird. I don´t really use it on the teepad, unless there is a monster of a headwind, but instead I use it where I might use a Rocx3 or a MD5, but want a big driver-like skip. It's really a driver approach disc for me, which is why I gave it 5 stars, because it's a very rare breed of discs.

I use the invictus for two holes, one hole at each of the two courses I frequent. I need it for its crazy hard fade, that's it. I can't forehand with it because the rim is sharp, and even if I throw (RHBH) it on an anny line, it fades way faster than I prefer. That all said, when I need a sharp hyzer right off the tee, (i.e. the two holes I use it on), it is great.

    Star Invictus, 171g.

I bought this disc at a local shop, thinking it would be similar to a starfire, which I had never tried, but as they had the same flight ratings, they would fly pretty similar. Turns out the Invictus is more like a faster firebird. I enjoyed this disc for a while, and I'll say that if Innova didn't have the firebird, it would still be in my bag. The Invictus is reliably overstable, good for stock hyzer forehands or backhands, and will handle headwinds very well. But the feel of the Invictus is what led me to just bag a firebird instead of the Invictus. For backhands, no problem. But for forehands, the rim is uncomfortably sharp.

Basically, I enjoyed the Invictus, but due to it's semi-uncomfortable feel, it just doesn't replace the firebird in my bag.

"This disc is the only driver mold I bag now!"

I came across this disc at my local Plastic Addicts shop looking for a reliable forehand driver that wouldn't turn and burn if I accidentally rolled my wrist too much. Mine is beating in so nicely now and I can tell it's getting more glide the more I use it. This disc is the only driver mold I bag now!

I'll be upfront and say that I bought this disc simply because of how gorgeous the swirly Star plastic was, thinking it would probably be too overstable for me. My forehand dominant game is about middle strength

In the hand, it has a sharp bead which is kind of odd for a distance driver. I threw it a few times and it was extremely OS, refused to fly and I didn't care for the feel of the rim, but I decided to keep throwing it in the utility slot. Over an extended break in period, I found it gradually competing for the Firebird's shot, it never turns over in a battle with a headwind, fades reliably and skips massively. With time, it slowly... started to fly a little bit further, a little bit further, and that sharp edge of the rim began to soften a bit and now it flies further than my Thunderbirds and Firebirds. This disc has kind of won me over as it begins to compliment my longer distance drivers as a max stability driver that can still pick up respectable distance. I'm very curious to see how this disc flies as it continues to evolve and cycle. As that bead wears down, I think this disc will eventually be quite the bomber! Not everyone will appreciate this disc but it has earned a spot in my bag.

Love my Invictus! I throw Teebirds and thunderbirds, but was looking for something a touch more stable and reliable in the wind. The Invictus is super reliable and has a nice stable finish! Not the most begginner-friendly disc, but any player can make use of it. It espcially fits a strong arm for back hand. Does not have much glide. I love the feel of the rim in my hand (I have smaller hands) and I love the plastic! I have a beautiful swirly star!

I think my review might be a bit skewed, just because I managed to get my hands on a pop-top Invictus as opposed to the relatively flat ones everyone likely has. But that doesn't stop this disc from being quite the beefcake. It definitely is super overstable, but I can get a long straight flight out of this very consistently before the fade kicks in. I frequently use this disc for anything needing some kind of skip. Unless I totally shank a drive, this thing skips every time. I don't necessarily like it for forehands, however. For slower arm speeds, maybe a utility disc?

Overall, I like my rather unique invictus, most people will enjoy theirs too!

I like the Invictus! It does have a strange rim to it and it is rather sharp on the edge. It wasn't bad enough to make me not throw it though. It is similar to a Discmania PD in flight but not feel. It is indeed a faster firebird as it is quite meaty. It fades, and fades hard. But that's exactly why I bought it. Beginners will not get much distance at all out of the Invictus. But it can be a great utility disc for strong winds or huge skip shots as it has a wider rim than a lot of 10 speeds. Innova labels it as a distance driver but I think it's kind of in-between a distance and fairway. The plastic on mine is also very flexible, almost G-Star-like. I actually really like that. And Innova definitely stepped up their swirl game with these and mine is beautiful.

I love this disc. Plain and simple. The rim is extremely comfortable for my forehand grip, not too wide. I have been throwing Sexton Firebirds for a few years but now that the Invictus is in my bag, I find myself reaching for it over my Firebirds. Of course, this is my personal preference but if you want a straight flight with an over-stable finish, the Invictus will do the job well.

The Invictus was overstable but not like a firebird overstable. It really felt like it flies like an overstable distance driver. I feel that you can get actual distance out of this disc but it flies very overstable not just extremely overstable. When I throw a firebird it fades right out of my hand and I can't get a ton of distance out of it. I can't throw the Invictus like Garret Gurthie, but I am able to get a lot more distance than I can with a firebird. I am able to throw the invictus on a flex like and get a good flight out of it that gets me good distance. With a really fast armspeed you would be able to bomb with this disc. I find the flight numbers to be pretty spot on with no real turn and the strong fade that is not overpowering like in a firebird. A lot of people say the feeling is not great, I kind of am impartial with the feeling. Some days I love how this disc feels but other days I can't get a clean and comfortable grip. I think if I were to season the disc in more it would get better because I like worn out discs a little more. If you need a very overstable distance driver but not something that will meathook try out the invictus. That is if you can throw pretty far.

I was expecting this to be super overstable, but it wasn't, though honestly I was hoping that it would not be as overstable as a firebird.

    Flight

I love the way this disc flies, it works well for both backhand and forehand.  It is overstable, but it has a forward fade whereas the Firebird has more of a dumpy left fade.  The Invictus works really well in a headwind, it has not flipped over on me yet and it is pretty resistant to popping up really high during it's flight.  I love this disc for both forehands and back hands.  It works really well for flex shots, spike hyzers, skip shots, shots where the disc needs to end up so far left, for forehand rollers, and cut rollers.  It also goes surprisingly far considering it's overstablility.

    Feel

I like the way the Invictus feels, all except for the bottom of the rim. It is really sharp and it scratches up my fingers where it rubs against when I throw it.  The sharpness has been getting less and less noticeable as I have use the disc, so I am hoping it goes away entirely soon.  It feels great in the hand for forehands and backhands and has a pretty wide rim.

    In summation

The Invcitus is a great overstable driver that is perfect for headwinds and for overstable shots. the only drawback I have found is the sharp rim, which seems like it will go away with time.  I would recommend this disc to intermediate players and to advanced players.  I would not advise this disc if you are new to the sport.

This is a super strange disc. It's more blunt nosed and less over-stable than I was expecting. The grip is a tad bit awkward due to it's rim thickness, but it's not too uncomfortable. It doesn't go as far as a Thunderbird and doesn't fade as hard as a Firebird. It sits in this weird middle zone between the two.

When it was first announced, everyone on Reddit was guessing it was an Innova PD. Well, they were completely wrong. The best way to describe this disc is it's like a super beat in Max... I know that doesn't make sense, but neither does this disc.

The star Invictus is a disc I feel like Innova hasn't had in their lineup in a while, but I'm not really sure it's needed. I imagine this disc as how a Teerex should fly, but with a significantly less comfortable rim. Imagine the bluntness of a Max rim with a Anax bottom.

Flight: The flight of the Invictus isn't quite as overstable as I initially thought. It handles power well, but it's any more overstable than a firebird. I put this in between a firebird and a thunderbird. 11/4/0/3 is fairly accurate.

Feel: This is the part of the Invictus that I personally don't care for, but some people love it. I don't like the sharpness of the bottom of the rim. It's uncomfortable to me. Like I said before, imagine Anax bottom.

Overall, this is an okay disc from Innova that fits a slot they don't have yet, in my opinion. It flies like a very beat up star Max out of the box.

Edit: I came back and tried this disc again during early June 2020, man I have had a change of heart. It's comfortable in the hand, bombs while still being stable, overall just loving it now. I was wrong.

This disc reminds me of the overstable TeeRex or a well-seasoned Monster, and while this disc does fly like a supposed "longer firebird," it kind of sits in a class by itself. The numbers align with a Discmania PD or Westside Fortress, but this disc has a slightly wider rim (like a Wraith) with a much stronger forward penetrating fade. I honestly enjoyed throwing this because of its great integrity thus far, and it never turned over. Stronger arms might like the straighter flight than if they threw a Max, PD3, or Slab, but for most people, this is a good longer distance overstable disc.
