I love over stable mids but the Gator just didn't cut it for me. I preferred the Gator3 but have now switched to the Toro.

This is disc if probably my number one most used disc. I will say though, that it took me a while to perfect throwing the Gator. But once I got it down, it became a dependable overstable workhorse that I can use for a wide variety of holes. The best part about this disc is that you can mash on it both forehand and backhand and it won't turnover, and due to it's lower glide, it won't fly by the basket. This disc is best in Champion plastic as it's taken a tree or two straight to the dome and kept on flying true.

The Gator is very much a utility disc. Short spike hyzers, forehand flex shots through the woods, and approaches are all easily handled by the Gator. The large bead and relatively wide, blunt rim provide a very comfortable feel in the hand for backhand power grips. You can grip and rip this disc as hard as you want and never doubt what it's going to do. It doesn't glide much and dumps hard, no matter the wind conditions.

I have always carried a Gator or a Gator3 in my bag as a utility disc of sorts for close range shots. I use this disc for numerous different shots. One of which being for short island shots, I can always put this disc on the same line and it will dump back in to the same spot with its high fade and low glide. This disc is also a great wind fighter, I've have even putted with it for some nasty headwind.

This disc is a super overstable mid range, with a smaller than typical mid diameter. This disc is very reliable because no matter how hard or weird angle I throw it will always fade. I know I can count on my gator to get around those tight bends where a near 90 degree angle is needed.

Apart from the great reliability of this utility disc, is the feel. It feels just as a utility mid should, very chunky. It has a thick almost rectangular rim with a big bead, and while that sounds super uncomfortable, it really isn't. It feels great in my hand, just by holding it, you feel like you can rip on it, while counting on it to just drop and fade hard.

The reason to buy this disc is that no matter what, you always know what is going to happen.

Does what I want it to do (hold a hard fading line whatever the wind conditions). Love this disc for shot 110-200 feet and can handle my power. I like this disc even for my flick shots (I typically don't like discs with beads) but this disc feels comfortable for both backhand and forehand.

I recently added a Champion Gator to my bag and was concerned about how overstable it'd be. Innova gives the Rat a fade rating of 3 and the Rat flies fairly straight. Well, after one throw, I realized that this thing is a meathook. There is no such thing as turning over this disc. Great choice for headwind shots, flicks, or shots that need to fade quick. The Gator really does it all.

Amazing overstable mid-range. Very trustworthy in windy conditions, and for shots that you want to fade fast. Great mid-range for forehands as well.

This disc is a meat hook, and that is why I love it. This midrange pulls left every time. Perfect for headwinds, and for getting around sharp turns in calmer conditions. If you need an overstable mid that you won’t flip over look no further than the Gator.

This is an absolute stud of a golf disc. If you want a show offy distance midrange, this is not your disc. If you want a midrange that will take strokes off your game, here you go. This is the most predictable and accurate middie I've ever owned. It fights in the wind and won't get tossed around no matter what the weather is like. It will always finish left. Because it doesn't have very much glide, you have complete control of this discs distance. The only negative I can possibly say is that the bead doesn't always allow for a consistent release on the disc, but you literally have complete control of the disc if you learn how to throw this thing properly. It is an easy disc to master and will absolutely save you strokes off your game.

    Flat top 175 gram Gator

The gator is a stable disc for forehand approach shots. I would not consider it overstable like I would the DD Justice or the Hyzerbomb Moab. I actually really like the flight of the disc for controlled forehand approaches but I personally don't like the bead. Although it doesn't happen often, I occasionally will have a sloppy release due to the bead. I highly recommend the gator if beads don't bother your forehand but if they do then give the Hyzerbomb Mortar a shot.
