This is by far one of my favorite driving putters or if you're looking to place a good up shot on an approach look no further than the dart! It has the most glide in any putter that I've ever thrown before. It definitely has its uses and of course there will be times when you wouldn't want a putter with this much glide (ex. headwinds, crosswinds) If you are looking for a putter that you can trust, put it on a hisser and it will seamlessly float itself wherever you aim it all the way down to the chains. It can take a fair amount of torque but from what i found is if you crank it too hard given you have an arm for it, it will turnover since after all it is a very neutral disc. Other than that if you are looking for a very fast putter that can be trusted especially in tailwinds and with some decent power behind it then look no further than the dart definitely belongs in your bag!

More than just a disc, this is a weapon. Unbeatable when it comes to long putts. Works well for drives and approaches too. Easy to throw straight, hyzer, and anhyzer for short throws, as well as long throws, the more you develop your finesse and power with it. I have had darts in my bag for years and they may very well stay in my bag for as long as I play. Absolute gem of a disc from Innova.

I have an R-Pro and a Star Dart. I first got them because I wanted a new approach putter. I didn't like the feel of it in my hand for the touchy approach shots however. Now I mainly use it as my putter off the tee because I can released it with a lot of power on an extreme hyzer angle and get at least 300 ft out of it every time! I definitely get some fade out of this disc as well if I do throw a more touchy shot. Overall it is a great disc for beginners to start with because of its versatility.

Good for dead straight, light approach shots, but too heavily affected by wind and not ideal for putting.

I have to say, from a neutral perspective the Dart is one of Innova's most underrated products. I'm not sure how well this example will work, but here goes. You know how when you have a favorite disc, and wish there was something that spoke to you at the level of of fairway/distance driver, midrange, or putter like it does? For me, I wish there was a Dart equivalent of a midrange, fairway, and distance driver. The Star plastic really comes into its own here, grippy in the hand and sticky in the chains. Curiously enough, I use a heavy Colt instead to putt, but as soon as its wet or cold the Star Dart comes out. Or, heaven forbid, the Colt is discontinued. Absolutely, positively a great all level putter.

PROS: Reliable, sticky, comfortable to hold.

    CONS: None come to mind.

    G Star plastic - 175g

This disc is awesome. I have played with it on three full courses now, plus a putt and approach course and a 9-hole course. It quickly became my go-to approach driver for anything under 200 feet. The disc flies arrow straight with any amount of power you put on it, and holds lines well. The shallow rim compared to an Aviar makes it more aerodynamic, so it's great for upshots, but it also stops pretty close to where it hits.

I still prefer to use either an Aviar or a Nova for my true putting as I prefer th way they feel in hand, and with the Nova, the overmold allows me to get more spin. The Dart is a weird hybrid between a mid-range and a putter, and as is better toward the mid-range end of the spectrum, but that makes it perfect any time I need a 200 foot straight shot.

In the situations where I formerly turned to a midrange like the Mako3 or the Atlas, I find myself pulling this out instead. It just seems so reliable and easy to place where I want it. I still prefer the Atlas for my forehand mid-range throws as the rim on the Dart is just a little too deep for that, but otherwise, this may be replacing my Mako3 pretty soon.

This used to be one of my go to driving putters for years, I have since replaced it but I still I still really enjoy this disc. If you like the Skeeter, you will love the Dart as your driving putter. It can hold any line you throw it on and it really helps players with slower arm speed optimize their distance. Once again though just like my review on the Skeeter, the rim depth does bug me just a little bit.

This is one of two discs I use for standstill upshots (star dart and R-Pro Pig) and I feel super confident that I will be giving myself a tap in if this is in my hand for an approach. I only throw this backhand but I can still get it to finish any direction because this holds a line like no other disc. If you throw it flat it is DEAD straight. If you throw it on hyzer it gradually holds it, it wont flip up and it wont dump, just holds that exact hyzer. If you throw it anhyzer it will just continually glide right (RHBH). So it is incredibly workable.

While I do feel this is a five star disc because the things I wrote above are invaluable, there are some drawbacks. First, I don't like how it feels in my hand for forehand, it's too tall. I use a pig for forehand approaches. Secondly, I haven't had much success putting some power behind it, so I only use if for standstill upshots. However, on the plus side, even when you throw it soft it glides FOR DAYS. Lastly, it gets tossed around in the wind. If its windy all my approaches will be Pigs. While you should be warned about these drawbacks, get a Dart if you want to take your upshot accuracy to the next level.

Star Dart (175g) - This is a great disc for me. A friend gave me my first one which was really really beat up, but it has still remained fairly neutral and glides forever. I found it to be one of the easiest discs to learn straight throws. Now I'd added a new Dart to my bag and it behaves very similarly with a very straight flight, tons of glide, and then a very slight overstable finish. This is definitely my favorite disc to turn to around 100-150ft. I recommend them for those approach shots straight at the basket.

170g in star plastic, this is my straightest flying disc.  I'm probably in the minority, but I think it is easier to throw than the Nova and Mako3 for those laser straight upshots through tightly wooded fairways.

The Dart excels at powered down beelines for anything in the 75-150 foot range.  It's a really tall disc with a huge dome, meaning it will glide with minimal effort put into your throw.

The only downside to the Dart in my opinion would be that it takes a little getting used to breaking the habit of aiming slightly to the right of a basket with a powered down upshot (RHBH).  Most discs, including the Nova, will fade at such low power-- Not the Dart.  If you aim it to the right of the basket, it will sail in a completely straight line to the right of the basket.  This is the epitome of a point and shoot disc.

I mainly don't like the star plastic of this disc. It is way to soft and bends to much for my taste. I'd prefer something harder to approach with. I know the dx plastic of this disc is harder and I'm sure the champion is too. I only use this for approaching. I'm soon going to get something else to replace my current star dart because I hate the feel. Maybe the nova.

A Star Dart was the first of two putters I had (the other being a DX Aviar), and immediately I clicked with it. It's pretty true to it's numbers, a very point-and-shoot kind of putter. Mine was 169g, and worked well for awhile, but unfortunately was horrible in the wind. When I started to drive with putters, I found the Dart to be very flippy, turning and burning with any power over 150'. The last straw that broke the camel's back was it felt very pliable in the hand when putting, which lent no favors to my short game. I searched elsewhere and found a different putter that corrected these issues, but I am glad that I used the Dart for a time, as it was great for starting out. Another plus I should mention is that this disc does hit the numbers when it comes to glide. I could always throw it further than my Aviar with ease. If it works for you, then it works for you, but I definitely would only recommend it for putting and upshots.

Good starting putter. great for teaching people. does what it needs to do, gets the job done. the fact that it flies straight allows new people to practice grips, heisers, and anheisers. great learning tool.

This was one of the first putters I had and was my go to putter for a long while. I had it in star plastic at 170g and it was amazing!

One of my favorite P&A. In windy conditions, its my go-to putter only because the flight path holds with enough snap. In no wind conditions or highly wooded areas...this disc is my best friend. I have it in Star Plastic...AMAZING!

The best putter I've tried so far! You can make putts up 100ft with this if you tried. It goes so straight. Sometimes I drive with it. I got star plastic and it feels really nice. It won't turn or fade and if you don't get it in the basket you will be really close.

I cannot say enough good things about this disc. I happened to stumble upon a barely thrown Star Dart (175g) on the course when I first started playing. I wasn't a big fan of my DX Ryhno at the time, so I used the Dart as my main putter. Then I started using it for approach shots as well. Pretty soon I realized that I could get the same distance off the tee with the Dart as I could with my midranges. This truly is an in-between disc that can function as a putter and mid... and I loved it. The Dart quickly became my "get out of jail" disc for rough lies and awkward shots. Forehand, backhand, thumber, tomahawk, scooby... you name it... the Dart was my answer. That Star Dart has become battered and bruised and is now an excellent anhyzer P&A disc, but lacks the stability off the tee it once had. I would recommend the Dart to anyone. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Disc flies dead straight. Mix between a putter and a midrange. Superb for long putts or short finesse drivers off the tee. R-Pro plastic is very soft and rubbery. Almost floppy. The Champion Dart tends to be incredibly domey. The Star Dart is probable the best choice. Reasonable durability, good grip, and exceptional glide. Great touch disc, recommended for those with good form.
