The R-pro dart is a very good disc. It is kind of a funky shape but I didn't mind it too much. I have used this for a variety of throws. Dead straight drives, hyzer flips to flat, Circle 2 putts and it does all very well. It will also help your form because this disc is perhaps the least torque resistant disc I have thrown. It will teach you to release clean and flat/hyzer. It also flies very far. When thrown right I can throw this just as far as my midranges. It is a very good disc but due to trying to minimalize molds it is currently not in the bag but I might put it back in.

Purchased to try as an approach disc, but it made my bag as my throwing putter.  I love how it felt coming out of my hand  when I powered up on the disc.  Shot shaping felt easy right away as well.

Give this thing a whirl. It really is a straight shooter. Stability is completely neutral/stable like depicted and will multiple uses as a driver, throw in disc, or as a putting putter.

I was looking for a "driving" putter when I was improving my backhand and decided this was the way to go. Turns out that this was the right choice. I was able to get this disc out to around 260 ft. straight on more than one occasion. It has a very nice grippy feel to it, and since I was used to using the SSS Wizard, this felt similar to me. As I improved my form, this became quite easy to overpower on a flat full release, causing it to go right out of my hand (RHBH). That being said, if I power my throw on hyzer, it will almost act as a hyzer-flip shot. That being said, I don't use this off the tee anymore (or with a run-up). This is my go-to for standstill shots as it flies straight and true. I will use this as a standstill from the tee (though more rarely now) if the pin is 200-250 ft from the teepad, but I will more often use this as a standstill approach from within the 200-225 ft range. This is a great disc for beginners developing arm speed and form as it will be easy to throw it with some good distance thanks to the high glide. I would not recommend using this disc in a headwind as it will be tossed around by the wind because of the 4 glide. Tailwind is fine, but I would never use this in a headwind of any kind.

I carry three Darts. One understable, one overstable and one straight shooter. If you come from a background in ultiamte of freestyle, this is the disc to start your journey in Disc Golf. Especially if you're going for a one-disc-wonder approach to the game, the Dart can do it all.

It is a staple in my bag and my favorite disc.

This is a disc that I did not end up throwing until recently when my buddy loaned me his for a one disc round. His was very well beat in so I cannot be sure they fly exactly the same out of the box, but oh my gosh this disc when straight. I could throw it with a good amount of power off the tee and put it on some hyzer and this disc would flip up beautifully. It was like the definition of how a flip up disc should fly. I was able to get it to end up right by throwing it flat and if you put it on any anhyzer the disc would hold that angle and glide for days. I think the dart is a super consistent putter for in the circle as well, I was able to throw it flat and it would fly dead straight into the basket. I got used to throwing this disc all around the course after maybe 5 throws, and I really was able to utilize it in every scenario. But this was with a well beat in dart so keep that in mind, a new one out of the box may fly a lot more stable.

After using this disc for a few months on and off it is becoming one of my favorites in my bag. My home course is super woodsy with a lot of tunnel shots that don’t have a lot of room for error. The dart will go dead straight with little to no fade and glide for days. Also it sticks to the ground well so you can park it. I always get excited when I take this out cus I know I’m gonna throw a laser and stay on the fairway. Wouldn’t recommend in the wind though it gets a little finicky. Take strokes off your game and get a dart!

R-Pro Dart (175g) - Ok, I'll admit it, I had thrown Darts before but I only bought an R-Pro because Nate Sexton makes it look so easy to spin putt these from 100ft and stick impossible shots. My experience, surprisingly has been different! Honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about Darts in general and one of my favorite putt and approach discs was a beat up Star Dart that I still have and take to practice putting with. The Dart is easy to throw and consistent, which is really helpful. I wasn't a big fan of the R-Pro Dart though, specifically the R-Pro plastic. The Dart is a very domey disc and sits tall in the hand. The R-Pro is a fairly stiff and grippy plastic and it seemed to make the dome more pronounced and awkward in my hand. I still tend to lean towards the Star plastic for the same results, but R-Pro will beat in differently and feel differently to different people so I can't knock it. I ended up giving the R-Pro to a friend and sticking with Star. Your call, but definitely definitely worth trying it out.

I picked up an r-pro dart a few weeks ago, and I really like it. I find it to be faster than many of its 3-speed counterparts, as it is less tall and has a wider-rimmed feel in the hand. It may get a bit flippy in a headwind, but it goes the farthest I can get any putter I've thrown. It is a really nice disc in r-pro plastic for long putter drives, and I like it.

I've used the dart for 3 years, and it has never let me down. This putter is the straightest flying disc golf disc I have ever used! I switched to the Dart because I was getting annoyed that my putters would fade away from the basket at the end of their flight. The lack of bead makes this a great putting putter as well as sidearm approach putter. The speed three is also great if your putt doesn't have a lot of distance behind it like mine.

I use the dart in R-Pro for putting because it sticks to the chains or the green (if I fail). The dart has to be my favorite disc in the bag and my game wouldn't be the same without it.

I've been putting with and R-Pro Dart for about 5 years. I've tried, and continue to try tons of putters, but none have replaced the Dart. I mainly use it for putting 50 feet or less. It feels good in my hand, grabs the chains, and sticks when it hits the ground. It has gotten quite flippy since it is quite worn. So, if I'm putting in a headwind I'll use something more overstable. Recently I pulled out my Star Dart and have been using that as an upshot disc. It is actually a little more understable than the flight numbers would suggest. But, it's fairly easy to hyzer-flip the disc to compensate.

This disc has taken many strokes off of my game since I started using it. Any shot where I need to go straight at the basket and I don't want to worry about any fade or skips I go with the dart. The R-Pro plastic also feels great in my hands. This disc really compliments my rocs and classics aviars.

The Dart is super straight and glides for days. Mine is an R-Pro weighing in at 173g. I also have an XT and Star Dart. But the R-Pro gets the most use. I don't particularly like the R-Pro plastic, but it works for me with specific shots. The R-Pro plastic is pretty soft. My putting putter is a Judge and my driving putter is a Maiden, and my overstable putter a Sinus. But I use the Dart mostly for patent pending shots -back to the target and reaching around an obstacle. This disc has more of an old school Frisbee feel to it. That way I am able to mostly use a snap of my wrist release, when doing the patent pending shot. I have hit deuces from 125ft on in, using this technique generating spin. Call it crazy, but it works for me and have nailed some long ones in clutch situations. The only negative is that the Dart does not work well in the wind at all.

This is a disc that I really want to like. Mine is 170 grams in R pro. If you are new to R pro, it is super bendy and soft; I am still not sure if I like it or not. On the plus side, it does not roll a whole lot after it hits the ground, and pretty much stays put. This disc is too soft for me to consider using as a putter. I have a couple of issues with it, and it could just be my own skill and preferences. First off, I just don't like the feel of it in my hand. It feels bulky to me; just not comfortable. I have had difficulty managing the glide on it. On windy days I would leave this in the bag. For some reason, I kept tugging this to the right, whereas I am not doing this with other discs for some reason. I also was not having a lot of success with this off the tee. I have a much easier time powering down with a Buzzz, Wombat, or perhaps a Deputy. I wanted to keep this in my bag but it just doesn't feel right in my hand, and I have other discs that I am more comfortable with that can do what the Dart does. If I were to try the Dart again, I would go with a harder plastic. I personally don't like being able to press my thumb so far into the dome of the disc.

The R-Pro Dart is one of the best putt and approach discs ever produced. I use this disc for my putt and it's glide is amazing. I am a push putter so the glide allows for the disc to get to the basket without needing to put in too much effort. When the disc goes into the chains, the R-Pro plastic grabs on and doesn't want to let go. This also means that any misses that you may have will sit around the basket because you don't have to put in too much energy. When it comes to approaches, the gentleness of this disc is very obvious the first time that anyone throws it. The disc had a slide fade at the end that gives you the reminder that you are playing disc golf and is always reliable. If you don't like soft putters though, this one may not be for you because R-Pro really is soft in your hand.

Great approach disc. It has controllable glide and goes very straight. It is a great beginners disc and great for advanced payers looking for a nice, controllable approach disc. It was not comfortable for putting and on power grip throws it would turn and burn. Controlled approaches it was right on.

I saw an interview where Nate Sexton said he used this disc for teaching students in a disc golf class.  He said this disc will show if your form is off.

I like the feel of the R-Pro Plastic, soft and grippy.

Disc to me is between a putter and midrange.  You can get some good distance out it. I will actually replace a mid in my bag with this disc because I prefer to throw putters and this fits in that gap.  Recommend for a throwing putter/mid.  Not sure for a putting putter.  May be a good fit for long range runs at the basket.

I've bagged a 175g R-Pro Dart for a long time. It's one of my oldest discs. I cannot stop throwing it. I've been throwing it so long, I can't remember what it was like when I first got it. But I can tell you about it now. The Dart will hold any line you put it on. At least my beat in Dart will. I like to throw it on a hyzer flip that drifts right and has a slight fade back left. (RHBH). I use the dart for putt/approaches that are farther than I can reach with my regular putter. It's a great approach disc. It goes straight, you can give it some anny and it will hold. It will also hold a hyzer. Great disc. I gave one to a buddy who was just getting back into the game, and he uses it for his putts and approach. I don't putt with mine, but I will from longer distances because this disc just floats and seeks chains.  Highly recommended.

I have a 174g R-Pro Dart. The Dart makes me think of an Aviar that had its rim sharpened so that it would be more aerodynamic. Even with it being a faster putter (honestly I would label it a 4 speed because it's halfway between a mid and a putter), you still get that straight Aviar-esque flight that is stable at high speeds but has minimal fade at low speeds. More than anything though, I just like the way the Dart feels in my hand better than the Aviar. The sharper rim gives me more material to hold onto, and I get a lot less bad releases with this disc.

I don't use the Dart to putt, but when I just need to throw a super straight shot to hit a gap in the trees, this is the disc I turn to. I can throw a Dart gently, focusing more on accuracy than power, and trust that it will glide to the spot where I threw it without worrying about it fading out to the left or turning over to the right. The Dart has a very low power requirement to get it to fly straight, but even if you power up on it, it doesn't turn over. In my opinion, that makes it a great disc for all skill levels. The only real downside to the Dart is that you can't throw big hyzers or anhyzers to get around obstacles. With other discs you have the option of planning your route in curves, whereas the Dart is a disc that really just wants to fly straight, and you can't force it to do anything else. But it definitely has a place in my bag for those times when a straight shot is exactly what I need, especially if I'm within a couple hundred feet of the basket.

I got one because of Sexton is one of my favorite golfers. I personally do not like the feel of the R-Pro plastic in the dart mold, in the same order i got an R-Pro pig which was more stiff. Not only was the plastic really gummy and odd but after one tree hit it got flippy on me but it always came back with a stable finish. I still bag the R-Pro dart for putts I want to hit and stick on hills and such which it does well and im anxious to see how gummy the plastic gets in the hot Central California summers.

I have used an R-Pro and Star Dart in my bag for about a year (a few months after starting). The R-Pro material is very grippy and causes the disc to hit an object and taco (fold and drop almost straight down). The Star Dart is a lot better than the R-Pro as a throwing putter, since it holds its shape better. The material holds up to tree hits well. I have come closer to acing short holes than with any other disc.

I found myself not liking Aviars when I started playing, and liked the straight flight of the Dart. It seemed more predictable, and it felt like I made more puts, more consistently with this mold. Who knows? Maybe if I just tried different materials of Aviars, I would have liked them more.

If it is thrown for distance and released on an angle, it tends to hold onto that angle. Throwing standing puts on a bit of an anhyzer leads to a bit more fade at the end . Nowadays, I still use a Star Dart as a throwing putter, and R-Pro as an alternate close-range putter for bad days.

    Initial Post

I had this disc in the R-Pro before losing it in the water after a quick gust of wind that came up from nowhere. I have yet to replace it due to having to order it, which I plan to soon. This disc flew straight for a mile. I would say, in my humble opinion, it has greater Glide than listed. I have other discs with a 4 rating and none come close to this disc. No fade even after being beaten in by several rounds. Truest flying disc I have ever owned that struck the chains dead on. Still sad I lost this disc.

    Added Edit

Well, I got another R Pro Dart (172g) and am even more pleased than before, and I will explain why.

When I initially started playing I had an R Pro Dart, a DX Shark, and a DX Beast. I lost the Beast and Dart to water after maybe a month of throwing discs. I maxed out the distance (at that time) for the Dart around 175’. Straight flight and little Fade at the end, for the majority of throws. I used it as a putter and approach disc for all shots and tees, and had good success with it. It was also able to show me when and where I was throwing wrong too. Then, I lost it to water.

Now, after two to three more months of practice under my belt I have another R Pro Dart and I am just as happy as before. I do not use it near any trees or hard obstacles due to it having 0 Fade now, but it is deadly around the pin for sure. If I can see the basket I can land within feet of it from anywhere in the range of 75’, no matter the way I throw it. Slight hyzer to fall in around a tree? Easy. Little anhyzer to get around a mando for the park up after an errant throw? No problem. Tunnel with slight left fall around 100’? The Dart sticks the landing for a drop in.

Also after a few extra months of experience, I can easily toss the Dart out to 225’ from a standstill using only my arm, and just as straight as before. If I take my driving X Step and half it, the Dart goes easily 260’+, but I will admittingly say it is not as consistent due to the 3 Speed of this disc. It is easy for me to throw it too hard and turn it over and burn it. Finesse is the key, and the more I perfect my form the Dart flies out just that much farther.

Also, and though I will rank this disc as Very Beginner Friendly, it is a disc that will show you your faults and weaknesses in your form, which is why I say it is beginner friendly. Yes, as a rule it will fight to stay straight, but it will dump fade left (RHBH) or burn right (RHBH) when thrown badly. Also, if the nose of the disc is up just a tad, it will take flight upwards robbing you of accuracy and distance fairy quick. Again, it will show your faults fairly well, which is a reason I like it besides of how it flies and reacts to my throwing style. To add, since this disc has 0 Turn and 0 Fade, it allows me to work on my flex shots and my hyzer/anhyzer shots showing me how far I turned or faded the disc right or left (RHBH). For me, a very good teaching disc.

I've always had a hard time throwing a putter accurately and I've been using the dart for a long while. To be perfectly honest I don't feel extremely comfortable with the dart. I don't know if it's going to fade early or not for those 110 ft throws, but I give it a 4/5 because it love the feel of the lip when actually putting. The disc isn't to stiff and the ridge is deep enough to curl my knuckles under.

My first putter, it was originally given to me by a friend. After accumulating too many discs for my beginner bag, I made the long overdue purchase of a tourney bag...so back in went my R-Pro Dart. My two primary putters nowadays are a SSS Wizard for "putting" and a (Medium) Vibram Ridge for driving, approach, etc. After missing a medium length put with my Wizard I looked down and decided to throw the Dart from the same spot...splash! I went to it several more times in my round on medium length tricky puts, 2 more splashes! I guess I'm a 3 putter guy now, because the Dart definitely has a place. The Wizard and Ridge are great for straight shots, but the Dart is superb for finesse shots...very predictable on any kind of hyzer or S line, and glides for days.

I have an R-Pro, which is rather floppy and beat in that works well for me. My main use for it is for anny putts. This disc on that line is absolute money. It is also a great disc for shorter drives, give it some hyzer angle on the release and watch it flip up and just glide. Being softer r-pro, it also hits and sticks, wheter chains or the ground. Only thing worth complaining about is I cannot get it to fade out when driving it. I have also tried a champ dart for driving and approaches, but that thing just took off right (RHBH).
