This is easily my favorite distance driver. I have a 161g G Star Daedalus. The disc is pretty true to its flight rating but maybe not quite so fast. It is very thin and works great both forehand and backhand. Because of its under stability it makes for easy distance for lower arm speeds. I use this disc on a forehand hyper flip quite often. With smooth form this disc checks up and goes forever. It will still turn even if nose up but will not hold flat super long then.

The mold seems to be really consistent with this disc. I would recommend this disc to any beginner who wants to learn to throw a distance driver.

Fantastic disc for intermediates, can really help you get more distance. I really don't love Gstar plastic, but the Daedalus in Gstar beats in pretty well and becomes gummy closer to a k1 soft or some of the more gummy plastics in other brands. The turn isn't as crazy as advertised, but still has a really nice S-curve to it.

I have this disc in champion plastic. It was a little difficult to learn to throw at first, but once beaten in this was the first disc I threw over 300' (RHBH). I throw it with a little hyzer for more control and distance. When I was first started throwing higher speed drivers the Daedalus was much easier to keep from crashing left than the Boss or Destroyer with slower arm speed. I use it a lot on longer uphill shots keeping the nose down or on long wide open shots, throw flat and it has long great S curve. Its one of the easier to throw 13 speed discs that I've found.

I owned this in champion plastic and I loved it as a max distance driver while I was still developing my strength. it has since become a great turnover driver when thrown on a slight hyzer it will flip and turn slightly right before fishing left/forward

    GStar- 160g

I've owned a fair amount of Daedalus's mostly in max weight champion plastic which work great for forehands (former baseball player, it's pretty easy for me to generate power on a forehand whereas backhand form is fairly new to me). However I was looking for a disc I could get max distance with on backhand, I decided to take a little weight off and see how it would fly. The lightest in stock was a 160 and honestly I didn't think that would be enough but it definitely was. I was pushing 400' off the bat with this driver in fairly windy conditions on hyzer flips. It was definitely more flippy than I would expect out of the box but that's perfectly fine. Obviously as a lighter disc that is so flippy throwing into a headwind is a no-no since it'll flip right over to a roller angle pretty easily. Despite its flippiness, this disc will still fade out pretty reliably at the end of the flight and it's more of a dump than a glide.

It's pretty hard for me to recommend a distance driver for "beginners" but if someone has worked their way through handling fairways, they should definitely look into getting a Daedalus even if it is a little lighter. It's really brought me some really easy distance very quickly. Previously I had a Sphinx (fairway) as my max distance driver for backhands that I could push out to ~340' ideally. The Daedalus immediately was getting me 380+ off the tee and putting me in position for birdies or easy pars on holes I'd previously finding myself hoping to get within 100 feet of.

For more advanced players I can't say this exact weight is something I would recommend as it isn't very versatile and is essentially useless in the wind, plus for higher arm speeds it would likely just serve as a roller disc. However at max weight I could see a lot of people getting some effortless distance that the Daedalus can provide.

Let me preface with this, I am a right backhand thrower so understable discs are typically my go to for max distance. This disc in champion plastic is my furthest throw to date at about 435ft, this is extremely glidey and if thrown on the proper slight hyzer this disc will flip up and run a smooth and sexy S curve. I highly recommend this disc for anyone who wants a muncher.

I wavered as to whether or not I should rate the disc lower. The under stability is underrepresented here, even a relatively novice player will get a great amount of turnover here. I also rarely throw rollers, which I feel this disc is best suited for. Having said that, this disc was always frustrating for me. I had the capability to deliver what the disc needed to perform, and I have seen other players who consider it a useful driver, but I just don't like the disc on account of what other distance drivers provide for me. What I feel is missing here is control. Obviously, we can't all park our drives, but we do expect a modicom of control. There is none as far as I can tell to be found when one packs this disc. Only if I were to have a massive straight to crush with a tailwind would I really be missing having one in my bag.

PROS: Friends/ opponents say it makes a great roller. Will absolutely EAT a big drive with or without a tailwind.

CONS: Missing the predictability of the Destroyer, essentially a more finicky Mamba.

I recently got a 160g GStar version of this disc.  So far, it's great.  Predictable, slightly understable, with tons of glide.  I wouldn't recommend this disc for someone who is brand new to disc golf, but I have only been playing for about 3-4 months and I recently purchased this disc.  I still have some room to "grow" into this disc as my release speed improves, but I got good distance out of this disc right away.  It is consistent and predictable.  It's probably not the best in windy conditions, but it's not bad, either.  As a reference, I also have Innova Mamba, Gateway Apex, and Westside Sorcerer distance drivers in my bag.  There is some overlap between these discs, but they are all discs that I found to work for me.  A more experienced player might want a heavier version of this disc (I'm not sure, but if you throw it really fast, it might create too much lift/glide).  I anticipate using this disc for a long time.  In general, I don't recommend Innova's DX plastic; it's not very good (even compared with other base plastics).  Spend the extra money for Pro plastic or better.

I got this disc as a mystery disc from infinite discs and I immediately bagged it after throwing it about 380 feet on its full flight on my first throw. In a wide open field, I look to this disc as one of my furthest flyers when thrown on an anhyzer with full power, letting its understable flight take over. The disc I have is in Gstar plastic at 169 grams. I haven't tried to throw this into a gap yet, but this disc definitely has its value in somebody's bag if they are looking for a disc to throw close to their max distance with. When thrown with less than full power, the disc tends to become a tad more overstable in my experience, but I don't recommend throwing this in that fashion. I give this disc four stars because I don't need it on every course that I play, but like I said, it definitely has its value when it comes to getting a long, full, anhyzer flight in an open field. Also, this disc probably isn't the best for a beginner given its 13 speed rating. In all, this is a quality disc for someone who knows how to throw it correctly.

I have this disc in the gstar plastic and it has been beaten in for a while now but I use this disc for hyzer flips to turn all the way over and never come back. I would recommend this disc to anyone who wants a long turn over disc. I havent thrown it a ton forehand but the little I have it turns over very quickly.

This disc has got some crazy glide!

Ok just had to get that out of the way.

this disc is under stable but not as under stable as a Valkyrie or something. it preforms well when thrown on an anahyzer angle, it does not usually flip over which is awesome. it can handle quite a lot of arm speed which i appreciate. I have some of my farthest shots ever with this disc. I am traditionally a RHFH player and can get this guy up to 420 with a little wind at my back.

I have had lots of friends who have asked me to throw the daedalus just because it has such a unique flight path. super cool disc, I would recommend for anyone who is looking for a new distance driver with lots of glide.

The Deadalus is definitely? the great equalizer for the minus 350' guys.  Im old and cant throw as far as i use to but the old man can still get one of these out there 350+ consistently.  I use light weight 165ish g stars and their straight hyzer flip max distance machines.....this summer i parked a 401' hole with one, not a major accomplishment but at 55 years old ill own it.

This disc is an understable flip to turn with a dependable fade to bring it back max distance disc.  It does not like cross winds especially from the right.  it will dive into the turn and not come back, nor is it a headwind disc. Its not a turnover disc that's controlable either its too fast for that   But if you have room and wanna go boom its great disc.  Throw it on the hyzer angle that works best for you, watch it flip up  and start its turn while the glide kicks in and then fade back to straight or slightly right. this discs still gets wows from the kids...lol.

The champ ones are definitely? more dependable in a little wind and would be a great downwind driver for big arms.  You might have to experiment with weights and plastics a little but when you find the right one for your arm speed it goes far.  This disc will add distance to anyones throws.  the only reason i give this disc 4 stars is its performance in wind and lack of versatility....but thats not what its for its made to soar..

If you learn how to tame the flip on these puppies you can get 350-400' hyzerflips and anhyzers with ease. Maybe the most beat up ones would be the most beginner friendly but I find the flippy ones to be very serviceable on long winding wooded holes where you seemingly need to hit 3 gaps to hit your shot haha.

I tried this disc to be my first real max distance driver (admittedly earlier than I was really ready for, but I had no idea), and I just never really clicked with it. That isn't to say that it isn't a good disc. It just wasn't for me. Now that my form has improved, it would be worth revisiting, if I decided I didn't want to throw all Trilogy anymore. I would still advocate for it as a disc worth trying for a first max distance driver, as long as the thrower is actually ready for a 13 speed disc.

    Disc: 168g GStar Daedalus (red)

It's a flippy high speed driver. Put some power on it and it turns over.

Flight: You can get some big S Curves with this disc if thrown correctly. Turns quite a bit with a gentle fade back. Most of the time though, it turned over into a roller for me.

Use: Throw big rollers with this disc. I'm not so skilled in this area, but it's definitely a disc that's easy to turn over and get a good roll out of. I don't recommend this for forehand.

Summary: As I'm not an avid roller thrower (or at least purposefully), this disc didn't make my bag. For those that love to throw super hyzer and watch it flip to flat, this is a good disc for that. Not an easy disc to get to do what I want though, so leaving it at home.

The Daedalus was a super flippy distance driver for me when I tried it. This thing really liked to turn on me when given power. I could see this disc really being a great roller disc for someone looking for huge distance, or for players looking for something that will turn and not come back. For newer players, this disc will probably hold pretty stable.

I have so many things to say about this disc. First of all I consider it to be the center piece of my bag. I generally don't have a ton of understable drivers but this one does everything I would need. Need a 500 ft bomb? Don't worry hyzer flip this baby way up in the sky and watch it just carry. Want a holding anhyzer? Nice flat rip and it will just keep going right. Need a roller? This is your guy for nice forehand rollers. I get flack for not throwing destroyers but I just love to hyzer flip this driver for very long s-lines. This disc won the CTP hole for my very first tourney and ironically enough I got a legacy outlaw which is basically a destroyer but I can't part from my Daedalus.

I have loved having the Daedalus in my bag! A must-have for me. While it is understable, I feel that it still requires some decent arm strength and speed to achieve the "long-bombs" and flight desired. I have a comfortable driving distance between 300 - 400 ft. The Daedalus has given me an additional 20-30 yards without jeopardizing the control. It may not be for everyone, but I highly recommend to anyone I play with to give it a throw.

One of the best pros that I can think of with the disc is, even though it is very understable, it still has a strong enough fade that it will come back under every weather condition that I have played with thus far.

The Daedalus is a disc that I always find myself coming back to.  I love the feel of this disc in g-star plastic and I'm in love with it's incredible glide.  The one real negative for this disc for me is that you can't really use this disc in even a small headwind.  This disc is my go to go long shots with a tailwind, or big shots that need to go right.  My arm is too big to use this disc as my main driver as I flip it over all the time, but its is still a go to on calm days and tail wind drives.

The daedalus is a great disc for people looking for a first distance driver. The glide is unparalleled and it has enough turn that it can be hyzer flipped with ease. I usually throw around 360-370 with my destroyers and with the right conditions, I can hit that distance and even more with the daddy. Great disc

For a long time the Daedalus was easily my farthest driver. This is a great driver for begginers that have a naturally fast arm speed. When I got mine it was apready pretty beat in. I play ultimate frisbee so throwing hard on a steep hyzer was what I was used to. This is why the Daedalus was so great for me. If thrown on a hard hyzer line with enough speed it will stand up perfectly, turn a tad, and then reliably fade back nicely.

The great thing about it is that due to the glide 6, all the while it is performing those "aerial maneuvers" it is traveling forward and fast. I was able to get drives upwards of 400 ft wtihin my first month or so of playing the sport with this disc. Now I tend to rely on more overstable discs for my long drives due to their consistency, but if that was not the case I would still throw this thing all day. Great buy for a begginer with a good arm.

Of the Speed 12 or more discs I have tried, the Daedalus is for me the easiest and one of the longest to throw.  My GStar Daedalus is 156g.  On a hard, flat throw, it gets some turn and then some fade at the end for me, but not too much of either.  Persons who already have a Vulcan may not find a great deal of difference between the Vulcan and Daedalus.  The Daedalus is not the greatest wind-fighter, either.  But throws uphill and downhill did well for me with the Daedalus.  While I don't really recommend 13-speed discs for noodle-arms or beginners, if you are going to try one, start with the Daedalus.

The Daedalus has will fly far down the fairway and is a good maximum downwind distance driver designed for less powerful players . This disc will double as a long distance roller for more advanced players. The Daedalus is available in GStar plastic and is rated by innova at 13, 6, -3, 2 but it feels like it has more high seed turn than that. id rate it at 13,6,-4,2 The Daedalus likes to be thrown low and hard.

I love my Daedalus. It matches the flight numbers and flight charts perfectly. With most understable to stable discs if i release them flat they crash right rhbh immediatly. Not the daedalus i can start it on a flat angle and watch it ride out way to the right and always fade left. Very dependable the only time i can get it to not come back to left is when i start it on a huge anhyzer. Not the best headwind disc, great tailwind disc. Overall a really useable and extremely fun disc to throw perhaps the most fun disc i own.

With the caveate that I play at altitude and use a hyzer flip for most drives, this disc really hits a sweet spot for me.  Given little wind, the Katana generally fades a little too quickly, while my Vibram Unlace will turn and glide out to the right unless I put them on a pretty firm hyzer line.  The Daedalus is a great bridge disc for me between the extremely understable Unlace/Mamba and the semistable Katana.  It's the disc I can throw farthest with reasonable control.

When I drop down to sea level, or when faced with a headwind, this slides over and becomes my understable turnover shot driver.

After reading the great reviews on this disc, I could not wait to get one. Suprisingly this disc does not fly like I thought it would. Maybe I got a bad mold or something, but I am getting less distance with this disc than I do with my Stingray and it is overstable. I bought 155gm. I will try getting another, perhaps much lighter and give it a try. I can chuck my Vulcan 3 times further than this disc but I am not going to give up on it yet.

Also to add on my previous post about the gstar plastic as said by professionals which I have seen since its been pointed out. If they start to make this disc in regular star or champion I think it would move to a rating like 13/6/-3/2 because champion tends to be a little more stable than star but I do love me some champion plastic starting to get more discs in my distance drivers in champion and my mids and fairways in star just have better results with champion in distance drivers for some reason.

Finally have gotten to test this disc a little. What I have to say is thank the GODS hahaha. Corny I know but seriously wonderful disc. I think they should keep the ratings because it does what it says. Flies with a good long, beautiful, and graceful turn with a flat release and then fades gradually. I can see why they would say this speed 13 of all others can be used by beginners. The reason is as stated in my previous post I tend to throw a katana every now and then but still have a little trouble with it and still tend to stick with my go to distance driver the tern but the Daedalus is amazing. It is a very forgiving disc I would say when it comes to beginners because gstar with that added flex and grip can help while still learning a good throwing technique. I have pushed into intermediate skill level though and I can get this disc to either fly straight with a hyzer flip or hyzer flip and turn or like my tern disc but go farther and just do one looooooonnnng anhyzer and then stable very late at the end and land flat. So in all if your a beginner who is getting a descent form going and looking for a faster disc that is still easy to handle you should GET'CHU ONE ha! Also for people of higher skill maybe to have one of these for open area shots and long open anhyzer shots for RHBH anhyzers.
