Far and away my most used disc. As a beginner, I wanted a disc that flies straight. I found this disc that did just that. When full power, the disc is an arrow. When I let a little off, there is a dependable fade at the end. Being as straight as it is, it holds hyper/anhyzer the whole way for me. I even use it as my putter most of the time, being as heavy as it is, the wind doesn't affect it like a putter.

The Atlas is the first Innova overmold disc that I have tried. I’ve had it in Champion Mix and XT Mix plastic, and of these Champion Mix is better feeling. I’ve tried to like this disc, but honestly, I can’t get over the four “compass points” on the rim. These make it hard to consistently find a grip along the rim. Its flight path is decent enough, but I can get more distance out of a Buzzz or Compass and these both feel better in the hand. That being said, it is a straight disc and a fair flyer; I would just choose other straight midranges over the Atlas

This disc has become my absolute favorite approach disc. I wasn't doing too well with it and ordered a Rat to maybe replace it. I played before my Rat arrived and suddenly started dropping the Atlas within 10' of the basket with amazing consistency. I have played a few rounds since and haven't even bothered to try the Rat because I have been so accurate with my Atlas. If you are a sidearm thrower like me, I highly suggest giving the Atlas a chance. It has easily taken 3-5 shots off my game in just the last week or so!

The Atlas is an extremely straight flying Mid Range. The overmold was a bit difficult for me to get used to at first, as it does feel kind of bulky in hand. The flight of this disc was excellent though. It doesn't take much to get it moving and it glides very well. It really just holds whatever line you put it on, similar to a Nova. This would be a great disc for form practice.

At max weight it is a straight flight and fights excessive lift in a head wind. It does not take much finesse to get the proper flight characteristics from the disc.

This disc is great for tunnels and will hold to the ground pretty well as long as it is not on too much of an angle on impact.

First off the Atlas is my favorite mold and has been in my bag since the beginning.  The one I received was domey, and has refused to work for me.  I shoot both Star and Champion Atlas and will stick with them in those plastics.

Dead straight.......If you release this disc on a flat line, it will hold that line dead straight until the very end with a slight fade.  I reach for this disc every time i need to hit a flat gap.  On a calm flat day I can put this out 300' dead straight.  If you give it enough speed it will also hold long anhyzer lines.  The only downfall is this disc is not great into a headwind.  It needs to be thrown with a lot of hyzer to prevent it from flipping over.  Into the headwind, reach for the ROC instead!

I started giving these discs to new players who come out with me for their first round over the ROC.  It's as simple as point and shoot.

I am giving this review from my own perspective. I am a fairly new player who can throw my mids around 210. I can throw the atlas around 230/240.

    Pros:

    • Favorite disc in my bag (tied with the westside harp)
    • Straight as an arrow
    • Superb glide - stays in the air and penetrates to the basket always around 7 feet off the ground
    • Easy shot shaping, will stick to any line you put it on.
    • Great looks ( I got the orange on purple )
    • Can work as a putter (perfect for a 1 disc round).
    • Rim is very easy to grip and feels great in the hand. No sharp bead digging into your fingers.

    Cons:

    • Four bolts on the underside of the disc feel strange
    • Disc has a strange flimsy (donk) kind of feel to it (although it is very durable.)
    • Can be touchy in the wind especially when thrown incorrectly

I have so many discs that it's hard to get a really good review on most of them simply because I don't have the time to throw them enough to get a real feel for them. With that being said the ATLAS is one of those discs that I haven't thrown much, but for the few throws that I have experienced with it the ATLAS did very well. For me there are other mid's that fit me better and appeal to me more but I think the ATLAS is a disc that could be easy to get used to and be a great disc for someone. I also like the overmold style.

The Atlas will hold whatever line I release on and I use it for midrange and approach shots. However, I have found that these melt extremely easily. It got hot in my car on my 40 minute drive home. It was in a bag, mixed with other discs, and it was the only one that got ruined. The whole top warped and crincled enough to make it unthrowable. I recommend this disc, but be cautious.

I really liked the overmold technology on my Nova putter, so I bought an Atlas (from Infinite Discs, of course).  First, the colors were exactly what the picture showed on the Infinite Discs site, and the disc is aesthetically pleasing.  The rim is grippy and my hand likes the feel of it.  It is a very flat disc and very wide.

I took the Atlas to the course with my Mako3, then again with the Mako3 and Discraft Stratus for  direct comparison tests.  You can see my evaulations of the Mako3 and Stratus on their respective pages.  I found that the Mako3 went further on shots off the tee and on long approach shots to the basket (the Stratus went even further and is too long to throw at the basket from within 75-100 feet relaibly).

But the real disappointment to me was that the Atlas skips and rolls just as much as any other disk.  One reason I got the Atlas was that I wanted it to stop and park under the rim instead of skipping and sliding.  However, It does NOT "grip" the ground or stop short.

Putting-wise, the Atlas was not better than the Mako3, and I can certainly go to my Nova for putts with rim material that "grips the chains."  The Atlas does fly straight, but it fades off, and more strongly than a well-thrown Mako3.  (The Stratus is understable, so that would not give a fair fade comparison.)

All-in-all, if the Atlas was the first or only mid-range disc I had, I'd probably be okay with it.  But at this point I find other discs to be better in every place that counts.  The Atlas currently is not in my bag.
