The GStar Archon provides a grippy, flexible feel and slightly less overstability than traditional Star or Champion blends. Ideal for shaping hyzer flips and long turnover drives, the Innova GStar Archon delivers smooth control and extra glide, especially in colder conditions.

    GStar Details

GStar is a fantastic ultra premium plastic blend by Innova. The plastic offers a unique metallic shine that not only looks good, but it is also incredibly grippy and flexible (you can literally fold a GStar disc). This plastic blend is especially recommended for playing disc golf when it's cold outside.

I was expecting a faster Beast and Valkyrie but this 168g, GStar Archon is much more over stable than either of those. I throw my gStar Destroyer much straighter, for longer, before the fade than I can with this Archon. I throw my Pro Katana with plenty of right turn prior to the fade, but this Archon just shocks me how I cannot get a early turn out of it. Maybe it's just the one I received because the other reviews are similar to what I expected. I'll give it some more throws, but so far, pretty shocked.

I bought an Archon because I had a Blizzard Beast that flew nice powered down but was a flip machine with any power. The Archon is supposed to fly like a faster Beast. Feels fine in the hand, though mine has a little bit of a weird transition between the rim and the flight plate on top. Doesn’t bother me but might mess with some peoples’ grip. I like the GStar plastic, but I don’t have a huge arm so for folks who do the flexibility might be a show stopper.

Unfortunately I just don’t have the arm speed for this disc right now. I did get some personal best distances with it but to do that I had to have a max effort rip on a pretty heavy forehand anny line, otherwise it would fade out early. The Archon ended up being a weird in between for me, too fast to be an everyday driver but too slow to fill the meathook utility slot where I use a Nuke.

I’m still rating it 4 stars though as I think it would be a fine disc for someone with a speed 11 arm who is flipping Beasts and Valks but wants a similar flight.

The archon is a great disc for people who are ready to take their first step into the distance driver class. It has a fair amount of turn and a small fade that make it easy to keep it straight for longer distance, but is also neutral which makes it workable for many release angles. The Gstar plastic is my favorite for this disc because after prolonged use the disc slowly shows different flight characteristics, making it useable in different stages of wear. It beats in to a big distance bomber with a wide S-curve after some time.

This is a great disc. It is very reliable and can be used for a variety of shots. Whether you want it short and straight, or long and far, this is a good choice. It does not take too much effort to get it to go dead straight down a short fairway and has a beautiful S curve on max distance drives. I bought this disc and used it as my primary driver for a while, but ended up getting a Tern after a few months and liked it better. I still keep it in my bag and used it often. Good disc and a good purchase
