Wow! I was really surprised by this Ruin and the metal flake glow c-blend plastic. It feels good in the hand and I really like the flight; decent glide and a solid fade. Very predictable fade in a way that makes this disc moderately over stable. I don't think I would use this for approach shots in the traditional overstable 4 speed "Zone"-like disc so much, but more as a throwing putter, and for approaches that require that OS throwing putter shot/shotshape. I can't get over how great this plastic feels!!! It looked kind of cheap but, man, it feels fantastic! The disc has a very interesting shape. It reminds me a little bit of some old school overstable slower midranges and faster putters. It has a distinct lip and curve on the edge towards the rim. I don't think it'll be for everyone, but for me it feels pretty good. One of my buddies really did not like the hand field. And my other buddy  Said it was negligible and his appraisal of the desk. But man that plastic, it is honestly better than any of the actual namebrand Innova of the same kind. I know Innova manufactures these discs but for some reason, the couple of ruins I felt were way better than recent in plastic of the same name. I will be tracking down some more of this older metal flake glow  C-Blend plastic 100% for sure! I'm excited to get a bunch of molds in this plastic!

    Metal flake glow c-blend, 174g

Wanted something with an even sharper fade on the hard forehands in the woods compared to the zone and harp and this definitely checks that box. Awesome for cranking in the wind and getting around hairpin corners. Board flat, great for the forehand. Was a little disappointed with the geometry of the bottom of the rim, comes to a pretty narrow sharp wing, kind of like a comet. I'm already getting used to it, not a deal breaker since the flight is so good, but this is a little less comfortable than the harp.

Very fun disc, highly recommend to anyone with a hard flick

This has been a great approach disc for me. I like to throw my Ruin on holes where I need to go straight and then have my disc fade out. It is perfect for this one hole I play where the basket is hidden in the woods on the left side a little over 200 feet long; I can aim past the opening in and know that if I threw it right, I can get in the gap to the basket.

This is a great approach disc. I would recommend this to friends who are trying to get more into disc golf and are starting to look at selecting discs for a purpose other than just distance. The fade isn't too much that it will be a meathook, but it will be dependable.

    An amazing throwing putter!!!

I decided to give the ruin a try after trying a Luna and being let down that it's stability was nowhere near what is claimed. The 3/3/0/3 stats seemed like it would be a perfect driving putter for me. After getting my first ruin I went straight to the course and played an only putter (only ruin) round. As I pulled my Ruin out of the final basket I immediately got on my phone and ordered 2 more of this disc. I LOVE IT.

you can give this putter a lot of power and it still always comes back in. I have more confidence in my approach game with a ruin then I ever have with any other disc. Driving wise it is equally as great any shorter hole (inside 300ft) that needs a overstable finish I use it. With a slight hyzer and the right speed I can get it to hyzerflip pretty consistently.

A great disc infinite!!!  I don't see it ever coming out of the bag.

Got this sweet Alien stamp during Black Friday and the disc looks sick, so no complaints there. However, I really thought this disc could be a reliable overstable approach disc and it's not really overstable enough compared to the usual suspects, i.e. Pig, Zone, Harp, etc. It's a great thrower if you want a straight putter with a solid finish, but it's not beefy enough to handle significant headwinds. I tried to make it work but I found myself reaching for the Gator if I was worried about the wind. Eventually, the Pig kicked this out of the bag though I'll probably still throw now and then depending on the course. Bottom line, great disc but not what I had hoped for.

Flight: This disc flies as advertised. Overstable and reliable regardless of the power put into it.

Feel: The Ruin has a unique feel. I personally don't like how harsh the bead/rim feel, but for someone who likes/doesn't mind it, this disc is a great flier and great choice!

I wanted a disc that would compliment my overstable zones and this is the perfect disc for that. The Ruin is definitely slower than the zone but has a touch more glide. I use the ruin mainly for backhand drives because it is more comfortable than my zones. One thing I noticed with the ruin is that it begins to slow down really quick if you give it some air. This makes the disc super versatile because I can make it land softly or give it a big skip. Overall, I highly recommend the ruin if you want an overstable approach disc to compliment your overstable zone, etc.

Of all the stable approach discs we all know and love, this has got to be the best one with a bead. It's got some pretty strong fade but not too aggressive, and holds its fade well after it's been beaten in. What I find most unique is that the Ruin gets a TON of ground play - it led to my first skip ace! The bead and the stability might be a bit much for someone brand new to the sport but once you have a basic understanding of discs and anticipating flight characteristics I think just about anyone could use it!

I've tried the AviarX3, Zone, Pig, Tactic, Rat, and Harp to fill the overstable approach slot in my bag and just couldn't find something that I liked both backhand and forehand.  The Ruin replaced all of them and has become my approach disc of choice regardless of angle and conditions.  It has been mentioned, but the shape is a little different and kinda looks/feels like a cross between the Gator and Roc3.  The rim is deep enough to get a good backhand grip, but shallow enough to be equally comfortable for sidearm.  The part that I like the best about the Ruin is that it can get good glide before the strong fade kicks in.  Thus being very workable in every situation.  I have tried this disc in both C-Blend and Metal Flake Glow C-Blend and have observed consistent results.  I couldn't be happier with this disc and look forward to using it whenever I can.

I was a bit skeptical with this mold due to many people comparing the Ruin to Discraft's Zone but I do not agree. In my opinion, I would consider the Ruin to be more comparable to Innova's Pig but with more glide. I've been throwing zones for years now in multiple different plastics, and zones will turn/fade quicker than the Ruin out of your hands. This is my first experience with the Ruin in Glow Metal Flake so I'd assume it will be the most overstable plastic for this mold, and I've been enjoying it very much as a driving putter along with C2/C3 putts with very predictable fade at the end of the flight. If you're looking for a nice overstable driving putter, give this disc try.

I recently put a ruin in my bag to try and find a replacement for my zone that is getting too flippy and it did not disappoint. I used it in my first tournament back after breaking my hand and it feels incredibly clean on a forehand release, which led to many successful up and downs even with my grip and feel not back to 100% yet. I would recommend this disc to anyone who is looking for a supplement to their very overstable pig or zone as it has more glide for longer shots.
