The Ruin is a great overstable approach disc! I love it for getting to the basket when the shot requires a lot of fade. Also handles a headwind nicely.

I got this to use as an overstable approach disc.  I was specifically looking for something that I could use within 150-160 feet, put out to the right and let it fade in to the basket.  I wanted something that would hold up in the wind and behave predictably.  I also wanted something with a bit more glide than the Zone/Harp/A2/A3s I've tried.  The Ruin fit the bill.  In the I-blend it started out nicely overstable with generous but predictable glide and fade - reliable but not aggressive.  The rim is wide at the flite plate, like the other approach discs, but more concave, tapering down to a very thin bottom.  This gives it an unusual feel, but it fits well in my small hands and come out quite comfortably.  I have used the disc frequently this winter/spring, and the I-blend has become less reliably stable in any headwind.  I like the feel and flight enough that I just bought another in the metal flake C-blend to stable up again and see if it will maintain it.  Overall, very pleased.

Pretty over stable putter. Not very forehand friendly but amazing backhand. This is becoming one of my favorite putters to throw backhand

This is the quintessential approach disc. Whether you approach with a forehand and let it crash in on a little bit of hyzer, or just chip it in the circle on a backhand, the Ruin is reliable, stable, and true. The rim is different and unlike anything I've ever felt before but comfortable. If you love an overstable approach disc, really consider giving the Ruin a try.

I tried the Ruin to find my go to approach disc. I compared it with a Pig, Zone, Harp, and Tactic. The feel is very similar to a Harp, just with a more pronounced bead and slightly domey top. I found the Pig, Zone, Harp, and Tactic flew very similar to each other with minimal glide and overstable. The Ruin however has quite a bit of glide holding its flight a good bit before fading. The fade is not the typical fade dive that other approach discs have, but instead slowly fades finishing a good bit to the left (RHBH) of its flight line. The Ruin could be very useful as a throwing putter, but does not quite fit the overstable approach disc group. If the top were flatter I believe it would feel even better in the hand and have less glide, making for a perfect approach disc.

In hand, the diameter and profile feels like a Discmania P3 or Discraft Sol except with a sharper uncomfortable lip. From the top, the color, texture and shape remind me of a large piece of Spree candy....

Flight is closer to a P3, and not even close to the over-stability of a Pig, Zone, or Harp. Flight cuts through the air like a knife on the angle you send it, which makes it a good side-arm flick disc. If you give it a slight anhyzer snap it will maintain the turnover line and gently try to come back to level at end of the flight.  This disc does lack the sharp fade of the aforementioned discs if you are looking for that classic "late-fade hyzer shot" around an obstacle in the woods.

I-blend is like very firm pro plastic which is usually quite durable, but for this disc the sharp lip has gotten very scarred up after just a couple dozen throws in the woods.

I was hoping this disc might rotate in my bag with the champion Rhyno or K1 Berg, but the lip makes it feel awkward and the flight isn't conducive to much air glide. This disc might be an acquired taste per user, and it might seem better once the 10-20mph fall gusts arrive.

This mold quickly kicked the AviarX3 out of my bag! I absolutely love the feel of the rim, but could see why other people may not be used to its odd design. But anybody can pick up a Ruin and trust its reliable fade. Once beat in, mine starts to show some signs of turn on a full power throw, but will still give some fade after some flight. Pick up a Ruin and give it a rip off the tee, you won't be disappointed.

Was hoping this would replace my zone as I really like all of infinite's discs, but it just wasn't as comfortable in the hand for me. Definitely a similar flight, but the rim is a bit deep for my taste. I do have smaller hands, so I could see other people liking it.

I'm so glad I waited to write a review on the Ruin. I originally bought the ruin last winter. When I took it out, I had a hard time seeing where it could fit in my bag, as it wouldn't stay in the air for me. I will admit I hadn't been working on my throwing putters at the time. Recently I have been trying to break down my putter game off the tee. Using discs like the MVP Entropy, DD slammer and the R-Pro Pig. I went out yesterday and brought the Ruin with me to compare after I've been throwing the "Over stable" putters.

    2 takeaways.

    1. The Ruin is a very flat and almost seems to have a "Larger than normal" flight plate. Similar to the Rat for those keeping score. It has a comfortable feel in the hand. Feels very sturdy with a fan grip for me, which is a must for me if I'm throwing RHBH off the tee.  Forehand is alright, but not as sturdy to me as the backhand, which is interesting in my mind as it is a flattop shallow putter. I'll have to work on the flick game with it to see if it gets better.
    2. If you have ever thrown an overstable (3) putter and thought, I wish that it had the same flight, but stayed in the air and pushed a littler further, give the Ruin a go. For RHBH if I were to compare my flight to the Entropy and the Pig, I would say that the Ruin holds a straighter line until the tail end of the flight where it then has a sure fade. AND it has the distance potential as an added bonus. I can put the Ruin about 50 feet beyond the others.

My 4 star review is just to more coincide with the Infinite Rating Rubric, My game wouldn't be broken without the Ruin, but it sure surprised me yesterday. I'm excited to have it in my bag this next season. You should definitely give it a throw!

A good, stable throwing putter that works great for reliable upshots. The I-blend plastic has a premium feel with a good balance of grip and durability. As an intermediate player, I am able to throw this disc comfortably around 250 ft. Very stable flight out-of-the-box. Beginners would likely find this disc too beefy.

I bought this disc a couple of months ago, and I wasn't sold. I found it was mostly because i was expecting a very overstable approach putter, and this didn't fit the bill. i lost the disc before i could keep playing with it to change my opinion...

Fast forward to now, I couldn't resist buying again, to give it another shot, when I saw it released in I-blend plastic and in that amazing lime green color.

I threw it around a bit, then played a one-disc only round and i fell in love. the disc is still not overstable, but why should numbers on a disc dictate how I like it anyway. The Ruin can stand up to power though, maybe this is why it is scored as an overstable disc. When ripped full power, I can get it to turn slightly, and has a small finish at the very end.

This is in my bag right away as my straight approach putter that i know will not blow by the basket because it doesn't not have the glide to do so.

    Great work, as always, Infinite!
