The Felon is a very overstable fairway driver in the DD line. This is what Dynamic Discs has to say about the Felon.

"Dynamic Discs is bringing the disc that so many of you have been asking and hoping for. The Felon is here. In the same vein as our game changing Escape, the Felon is a fairway driver that feels great in your hand and comes out easy. Crafted in response to the unforgiving Kansas winds, the Felon is the wind-fighting fairway driver that your bag is calling for. It will continue to sail, without turning over, despite that headwind. When the wind is down, it has an incredibly predictable hyzer finish. When you are facing a low ceiling shot where you need good glide and a strong finish the Felon is your answer."

Love this disc and the plastic really decides the stability with bit more consistency than the firebird.  Overall, a bit more stable than a firebird with the lucid and halo. With power to throw forehand over 325 this disc is fast.  I have gotten over 400 with a beat in one that had a controllable high speed that appears at 225-250 feet out.  I still carry firebirds for thumber and control throws for shorter throws.  This disc just feels good in hand.  Less distance with more fade, I use the Ahti.  I find these molds to be way more consitent in their plastic with the ahti being more stable and take longer to beat in for a flight that you can learn to control

The Felon is my personal choice for a 9 speed OS driver. TBH if you already have something like this or a Firebird and you're already happy with that particular disc it's not gonna fly all that different. But if you're looking for a disc you can trust into just about any headwind or need something you KNOW will fade out for you this is an easy recommendation. Also a good option for newer players lookign to experiment with something really OS

Everything I need from an overstable fairway. In lucid  plastic it has a touch more glide than a firebird but the durability and stability to remain in the bag as a workhorse for a long period. I don't throw much DD at all but this disc nails it. In terms of stability it fits right between a proton volt and a fresh star firebird. I also think it feels great in the hand. If I had to bag only one OS fairway this is it.

A firebird clone, with the shots to back it up.  This disc is one of my favorites from the Trilogy family.

Think sexton firebird before the sexton firebird.  Its a straighter firebird.  It still bites, but you can definately get some straight distance out of it prior.  Maybe in between the thunderbird and firebird in terms of stability (depending on flateness and the run, and the type of plastic - most discs).

I have a fondness for the aforementioned fire chicken (TM) because it was my first disc and its also the disc that made me fall in love with this game.  But nothing bad about this one, the felon is money.

The Felon performs exactly as advertised. Driver speed, with a hard and dependable fade. It took me a long time to realize the benefit of truly overstable discs, you don't need it for long open drives, but they're great for certain utility shots. The Felon performs great for windy conditions, skip shorts, or hard left hooks (RHBH).

Another plus is the plastic. I'm a huge fan of Trilogy's Opto/Lucid type plastic. Very durable, and grippy enough to get a hold of it. Would recommend, but not for beginners.

Quintisential 9 speed overstable control driver. They usually run flat as a board but have seen domey ones. A little less overstable than you'd expect, especially in lucid or orbit plastic.

This is the 9 speed utility disc to have. It's reliable in almost any wind conditions but still workable if you need it to do something besides go 200 feet and fade hard. Great for flicking, great for thumbers, great for skip shits. just great all around!

This disc is not for beginners, yet it is still very handy for certain situations.

    1. Being a speed 9 disc, if you are a beginner, you will need to put some power behind it or else it will just dive to the ground on you. I have more power on my forehand and this is all I use with this disc because otherwise, if I backhand this disc, it will not go very far before diving to the ground.

    2. This disc is a utility disc for me and only comes out when I have to get around a tight corner and I need something that will curve around hard. No matter how much anhyzer I put on this disc, it will immediately fight out of it and begin to hyzer. I am starting to manage to get it flat for about 150 feet before it hyzers out on my forehand, but I don't use it that way unless I really need it to get around something.

    3. This disc likes to skip. I have purposefully thrown it flat at the ground to get around a corner with a lot of coverage just so it can skip and fly out of it. This disc can handle the power you put on it and ask for more.

I have tried the felon in several different types of lucid and fusion, and I have to disagree with anyone saying that this is a firebird clone (lucid-x flies pretty close though). I carry a fusion or lucid felon in my bag as well as a thunderbird and firebird to all accomplish different tasks. IME the premium plastic felons (besides lucid-x) all beat in fairly quickly to a super straight flier with a healthy fade right at the end. A firebird begins fading much sooner in the flight, and will fight out of annies quicker than a felon. The felon reminds me of both an FD3 and a Raptor, in the way it can hold any line that you may want it to while trusting that it will have the healthy fade at the end. It also has a similar shape to the FD3 and Raptor. I might've ended up bagging a raptor, but DD always has blank white fusion felons I can buy and dye with my little girl.... so my bubblegum pink dyed fusion felon with Barbie's face on it is in the bag 4 life.

The Felon is another entry into the 9-speed over stable category that has a bit of a different personality to it when compared to other discs in the same category.  The disc has an ever-so-slight dome to it allowing for a little more glide that most others in this category, and more so than the flight numbers would suggest.  I also wouldn't say it is turn-resistant necessarily, but it won't follow a turn line when thrown with some flex.  I find this disc to be a little more useful and workable than others in this category, which is nice.

If you are looking for a speed-9, overstable disc, that offers a little more glide, and a little less fade than the other beefy entrants in this category, check out the Felon.  I have enjoyed throwing this disc quite a bit.

very good over stable fairway. I usually throw a g-star firebird but this may take its place. The firebird is pretty much dead straight until it fades hard at the end while the felon turns just a little bit for a flex to fade as hard. A little less wind resistance than a firebird, but should be good for most throwers. I agree with the first guy that the turn should be negative not positive.

Disc: 169g 173g Lucid Felon 175g LucidX Felon

Feel: The Lucid plastic is some of my favorite, it is grippy and firm. Reminds me a lot of 400 Prodigy plastic. The wing of the Felon is SUPER aggressive with a board flat top. The rim is VERY shallow. The LucidX plastic was HARD and very slick. Like a slippery 750 Prodigy plastic. It was very pretty though.

Flight: This is what many people desire a firebird to be and what I have been told that a Sexton Firebird is like. Something that will push out and then fade hard. The 173g I have is pretty new and it dives pretty hard still. The 169's are beat to heck and act more like a Thunderbird at this point. The 175  rocketed to the left out of my hand. At that point I should just get a Firebird. Excellent for headwind, during a tournament that was apparently in a tornado, all I threw were Felons and they flew like Teebirds.

Conclusion: If you want that Firebird type disc that you can actually throw and use on the course, not just for the extreme situations. The Felon is an excellent disc. DD does a terrible job at giving their discs flight numbers (I think someone goofed and made the turn positive instead of negative)

Overstable 9 speed discs are very common for a good reason. Everyone should have a disc like the Felon in the bag. I found my felon to be fairly flat and definitely torque resistant. I like the feel in the hand and Lucid plastic is one of my favorites. If you are a fan of Trilogy, this is a must bag.

This is a control/distance driver that is quite overstable. I had a couple of these in Lucid plastic. I would compare it to a Predator or Firebird type of disc. It is shallower a bit then both. For me even just a bit too shallow. For that reason I give it 3 stars.

I actually prefer the Pioneer from Latitude 64 or Firebird from Innova.

Flight and plastic from this disc are fine. It's not quite as beefy as a Firebird or Pioneer. I adjusted the flight numbers accordingly.  I would say 9/3/0/3.

This is an extremely reliable forehand disc with a consistent flight. It also works well for backhands but the limited glide guarantees you don't get as much distance as you might think. As a fairly hard thrower, its one of the few discs I have tried that does not flip at all. Overall a great disc and a must have for Dynamic Discs fans.

My first overstable fairway driver was a sexton firebird, so naturally I got another. I ended up losing both in the same week, and only getting one back. Considering they're expensive and more rare, a friend of mine gave me a felon..

It instantly became my go to fairway driver! I'm a backhand thrower, 350-450 ft distance. My main distance driver is a star destroyer, and a felon fits perfectly into my bag as a slower destroyer. I can backhand or forehand my felons, and expect a nice straight flight with a reliable fade and skip. It throws perfectly into the wind, and with a little flex it has a beautiful s curve.

The disc is flat as a table on top, which feels great in my handing! If you use an overstable distance driver like a destroyer, or a fairway like a firebird, I highly recommend trying a felon!

Probably the best disc out there. This disc is great for forehands, and just as good for backhands. Put a lil anny on it and you will add some distance. The flight numbers for me are very true. In lucid plastic you can get massive skips with this disc. I am finding that after being beaten in, the disc tends to have a little more turn and at times it will turn over. Overall, this is my most thrown disc as it can be used to shape a variety of shots.

Lucid dyed yin yang. I love this disc. I've only had it a few weeks and it's my most used disc. I had a Champion Firebird that i lost in a pond like 2 days after i bought it and fell in love with it. Went to a sports store the next day and picked up this Felon as a hopeful quick replacement and while it's not quite the same disc i do love it just as much as the Firebird.

Lots of ppl say it's basically a firebird but i disagree. My firebird was much more overstable. This Felon is overstable for sure, but it holds a straight line really well for a good distance before fading. A good firebird won't do that. I would almost rather compare it to a fairway driver version of a Discraft Zone. They have basically the same profile and flight pattern but the Felon is obviously twice as fast.

I use my Felon off the tee quite a bit, ESPECIALLY on a windy day, and I can and do use it on pretty much every upshot on every hole no matter what line I'm needing. Its so versatile with my forehand. I'll use it in tight short tunnel shots that end right, and I can throw it backhand laser straight for 300' and let it dump hard left at the end faithfully. This disc has it all really. I'm still gonna get another Firebird, but they'll be sitting next to each other like brothers in my bag forever.

I wanted to try the Felon in comparison with the Firebird and I have to say they are very similar. I have mine in Lucid at 170g and although the plastic is noticeably stiff as it should be it seems to have the same flight as my Star Firebird with a touch more glide. Please keep in mind that I am not a strong thrower. I use this for finesse shots around corners, short 230' hyzer bombs, and other shots where I need to sneak in the side on RHBH and RHFH throws. For that, it truly excels. I don't see myself trying for anything beyond 250' with this disc, but like I said... I am not a strong thrower at all. My drives with my distance drivers max out right over 300'.

Anyone considering an overstable fairway driver, but has a slower arm like mine, should give it a go. Maybe look for one in the 163-169g range.

I have been trying to do a decent forehand for years. YEARS. I picked up this disc at a recent tournament and all I can say is this disc made ALL the difference. Easy to throw to get some amazing flex lines. Need a good skip? This has enough speed to give you a nice skip at the end of your flight. This works for mid range cuts, to long range flexes.

The felon is one of the most comfortable forehand discs I have ever felt in my life. It has a similar flight to firebirds in my opinion. It is that super consistent overstable driver that many players lean on for hyzer shots or longer approach shots. My forehand is pretty sub par so I was not able to utilize this disc to its full potential like other more forehand dominant players are able to. I was not in love with this disc for backhand but I think with more time throwing it, it would find a place in my bag for both throws. If you are looking for a super consistent disc in any wind condition that will fly exactly how it should pick yourself up a felon. I love watching my friends that tear up courses with forehands throw the felon's because it flies so nicely and has gotten my friends out of some nasty spots before. I really enjoy the felon over the firebird in feeling of the hand but I am not able to utilize either of them well. If your bag is missing the overstable driver slot the felon is going to be a really good disc to fill it and the lucid plastic is really nice feeling and durable.

Great feel in the hand, for forehand shots, dont use it much for anything backhand. Would recommend to anyone playing.

Holds mostly straight for about 200-250 then finishes left. great feeling plastic. 4/5 due to easy to beat in. One root in the ground after 10 throws caused a big gash. Still flies great.

Yes. Yes. a thousand times yes. Looking for a fast fairway driver that will take all the power from a backhand or forehand on any line and still fade every time... even in windy conditions? The Felon is that disc. Yes it is a meat hook of a fairway, yes it is a very fast flattop driver that loves being thrown with power and a thousand times yes it will always fade no matter the power and angle you throw it on. I likely would not recommend this disc for newer players just because of it's unrelenting over stability, but for those that have developed decent form and power they may just fall in love with this disc.

I currently bag 2-3 felons all in some form of lucid plastic. This disc has a slightly shallower rim than most over-stable fairway drivers which makes it more comfortable for my forehand grip. What I love about the felon is that with a single mold I can cover 3-4 different flight lines. I have a beat in straight felon, and straight with overstable finish felon, an overstable felon, and a meathook felon. All flat top. These are my go-to side arm disc. If you find a beat in one, or take the time to beat one in yourself, you don't need a ton of distance. I can only throw 270' forehand and I get a great straight flight with reliable fade.

I have always thrown a lot of sidearm shots and the Felon quickly became a favorite of mine especially in Lucid plastic. It starts out fairly overstable but not as much as a Firebird. I have a 175g Lucid Felon that is nicely broken in that I use for flex forehand shots or very straight backhand shots with a solid fade at the end. I also have a Lucid X Felon that is newer and it is much more overstable than my beat in Lucid. It fades much quicker and has less glide which is great for those times when I need that type of disc. I also had one in BioFuzion, thinking that the extra glide from that plastic might be nice but I put a HUGE gash in it on the first round I played with it so I won't ever buy one of those again. Back to the disc itself, I really like the rim and think its very comfortable for sidearm or backhand. It also has a flat top. The durability for Lucid plastic is good too- I have thrown my Lucid disc quite a bit and hit quite a few things and it has held up very well.

For me the Felon is exclusively a forehand disc.  It is good for forehand drives, approaches, or touch shots.  You can trust it any headwind and trust it to fight thru it.  It has a comfortable feel and has a clean consistent release.  My only problem with it is the plastic beats in too quickly, so it ends up getting a little less stable fairly quickly.

The Felon is a great overstable fairway. I currently bag 3 of them because they fly amazing when the beat in as well at straight out of the box. It is extemely comfortable in the hand and most have a flat top to them, which i enjoy for fairway drivers. The Felon has a great overstablility for all kinds of shots on the course. I do not have a very strong forehand shot but a beat in felon is perfect for my forehand and i can get some good distance and control on it. I also use this disc for overhand shots as well. it is one of the most workable oversable fairways i have thrown and don't foresee it leaving my bag anytime soon.

I really wanted to find the Trilogy Firebird in the Felon, and while it matches up to the Star Firebirds, or more recent Champion plastic runs, but it's nothing like the FAF Firebirds that I really wanted to replace.

The top is pretty flat and it feels good, the nose it blunt and that adds to the stability. It flies well, and I graded it well since a lot of people will like this disc. It wasn't what I wanted, but overall, still very good.

If you need a headwind driver or a forehand discs, it will likely be very good for you. Just try not to have FAF Firebird expectations when you try it.

The Felon is an overstable control driver from Dynamic Discs. The Felon is comfortable in the hand, but I feel that it has a bit wider rim than similar discs from other brands. Mine was rather flat, contributing to the overstablility of the disc. This is truly a meathook disc. If you need something to fight the wind, or for utility/overstable shots, this is a great disc for you. I will say that I felt like I really had to power this thing up even more than a something like a FIrebird to get the same distance.

I bought this disc after losing my firebird and I will never go back. This disc has become my go-to disc whenever possible. Backhand or forehand this disc feels amazing in my hand, so much more comfortable than my firebird. The flight is similar to the firebird but I can throw this disc further and much more accurately. This disc carries really straight really far and has a substantial fade at the end of its flight. If thrown with a lot of power this disc will turn a tiny bit but not much. This is definitely a disc I will be buying again.

I would like to start by saying I love the Felon and it is my go to fairway driver. I am primarily a forehand thrower. I like the felon because I can get great distance on it by throwing a nice flex or I can go for the hero shot and throw a big hyzer. When I first started playing disc golf i started with an escape and was ok but never realized how much power I could have in my forehand until I started throwing the felon. It was not hard to learn how to throw the felon. It make take a little bit to get it to flex bc of its stability but i feel it doesn't take too long. Would highly recommend especially if you are a right hand forehand player.

fade, fade, fade, and fade. its what the FELON is for so if you dont want a meat hook, don't buy it, simple as that people. i love this disc because i can handle it. if you throw hard and flat enough, you should be able to crank out a 350-400ft drive.  if you cant.....you're looking at a solid 100ft of left.

This is a disc that every player should have in their bag. The Felon can be used for so many different shots that it is almost multiple discs in one. If you have 320'+ of power then the Felon will be a great headwind fairway driver for you. Without wind, you should be able to let go of it flat and it will hold straight for about 200'-250' then have a good strong fade at the end. If you have a little less power, like me, then the felon will be more of a utility disc because it will not hold any line because it is just too stable. I use the felon mainly for getting around corners or spike hyzer upshots. I also love the felon for forehands because it has a low profile that is comfortable in the hand and will have a pretty straight flight with good finish. The felon is also good for forehand rollers that start vertical and go straight with some good tail off at the end. I can get a Felon forehand roller anywhere from 150' to 310' depending on the angle and power I put on it. Another thing the Felon is great at is grenade shots. If you have practiced grenade shots with other discs, grab a felon and try it on the same throw. Never give this disc to a beginner who can't throw much farther than 200' or someone who doesn't really need utility discs like this because it will be massively overstable for them and will only discourage them. The Felon is very flat top and low profile, sometimes even "puddle top" which makes for a comfortable feel and clean release both backhand and forehand. The rim feels a little small for a 9 speed but that number seems to be accurate in flight. The Felon is just a touch less stable than a Firebird in my experience but has more fade which puts them at almost exactly the same distance. I prefer the felon in lucid because it is a disc that takes a beating so I want it to be a little stronger however if you can throw the felon straight then I would suggest checking out a Fuzion or really just whatever is most comfortable in your hand. Either way, the Felon is a great disc that every experienced disc golfer should have in their bag for its versatility and great feel.

The Felon performs as advertised. Very flat, and very beefy. A great disc for shortish hyzer drives around hazards/trees where a predictable left finish is needed. The Felon only takes a handful of shots to learn. It'll stand up to any wind and will go exactly where you aim it. Its a very stable, fairly glideless flier. My hardest backhand rips didn't even think about turning over... and didn't hold a flat line for long. The Felon wants to fade... and hard.

I personally like the Felon a touch more than the Firebird. The flatter profile seems to come out of the hand better, and feels nicer on sidearm flicks. I'm not really a sidearm thrower, but I found the Felon to work for sidearms quite well.

Not a good beginner disc. You need a big arm to get anything from the Felon. Very good performer for the speed 9-10 overstable category though.

Really good fairway flick driver.  Not as stable as my Firebird, Resistor, or Fireball, but a bit longer for me.  It can be flexed for added distance.  Nice for downhill flicks (doesn't turn much when flexed).  It only took a few tree hits for the stability to drop a bunch.  It's now longer, but not quite as dependable.

The Felon is a great disc for a variety of shots. Its a great FH roller disc, FH disc for shots 275+, hyzer disc for those shots that need to finish right(RHBH) and bailout shots.

The Felon is a Fairway disc with a great deal of fade so it holds up excellently into headwinds. It is also good for skips shots. The Felon will come in handy several times during your round for situations that require a variety of ways to attach the hole.

If you want a wind fighting, FH rolling, hyzering bailout disc that will hold its stability for a long time then pick up a Lucid Felon.

I have had multiples of this disc in Fuzion and Lucid ranging from 172g - 175g. Personally I believe the Felon is best in Lucid plastic.

    The Good:

-Disc has a very flat profile and a shallow rim that makes it a perfect use for forehand throws.

-Disc has a reliable fade that you can depend on, time and time again.

    -Beats in fantastically.

-Pretty much impossible to get it to turn over

    The Alright:

-The disc flys more true to the infinite ratings (9,4,0,4) than it does for the numbers printed on the disc (9,3,0.5,4) which means its a little less beefy than suggested by DD.

    The Bad:

-Due to the shallow rim and flat profile of the disc I do not find myself using this AT ALL for my backhand as it is just not comfortable. (On a side note I now use the DD CRIMINAL as my backhand OS fairway driver as it is a bit more comfortable for that use)

I have indifferences with the flight ratings of this disc, out of the box this disc is pretty meaty but for a +0.5 turn i would expect more meat. this disc will fly very straight and fade hard and predictably. the fade is right on with a 4, even with seasoning. Speaking of which, after this disc has seen the elements for a couple tree hits and age, it will gain some turn, ranging from -1 to -2 depending on wind, in a head wind be sure to use a newer disc or it will turn over pretty easy. I love the opto plastic but its missing about 6 months of resilience, breaks in a little too quickly. That being said, a seasoned felon is an amazing disc. I would not recommend this disc to a beginer unless they have some good side arm power.

In the end i would compare the felon to a slightly beefier Lat64 Culverin.

Incredible fairway disc. I love the Felon for forehand shots. Once it beats in a little and you throw it hard, fast and flat on a forehand it is laser straight and then hooks up for a hard finish. It is my standard for comparing other discs too as far as feel and fit goes. It fits perfectly in my hand for both forehand and backhand grip. I don't use this disc often for backhand but when I do I know I can trust it into the wind and to fade hard. One of my favorite discs hands down.

As an ex-pitcher, my FH has been strong out of the gate. I've constantly had players tell me that a Felon would suit me. Fast forward a few months and a buddy gave me a semi-beat in Lucid 173g. I also bought a brand new one. The beat in one is now the money disc of my entire bag. I find myself using it for anything inside 330' that needs fade, skip, or a big flex shot. Thrown with 90% it is a silky smooth laser that explodes with fade once it slows down but I also find myself throwing it on short dogleg holes and even short upshots. I find this disc just finds a way to end up parked whenever I'm throwing it. Sometimes a disc just clicks from the first throw. This thing is for anything longer or needing more fade than my MF Gator.

This disc is probably the best hyzer disc I have ever owned. I can throw this disc as hard as I want and all it will do is hyzer. Keep in mind that I have a low arm speed with only 250 feet on a good drive. This disc is great for long hyzer spikes, skip shots, thumbers, grenade shots, and even forehand rollers. This disc goes dead straight on a forehand roller line. This disc is great for an experienced player looking for an overstable fairway driver.

Heard a lot of good things about the lucid Felon so I picked one up to replace my firebird "in my bag, but never my heart". it flies almost identical to my beat in tatted up disc. Flight: If you want a disc to hold a straight line for 2/3 of it's flight then fade every time at the end then you will love this disc.  VERY consitent, good in the wind.  Bigger arms will get more out of this disc.

Comparison: Haven't found a comparable disc.

Final thoughts: Unless you have 350ish power hold off on this one, you probably wont be able to use it well.

This is an OVERSTABLE fairway driver. This disc will hook a bit harder than a Saint Pro for comparison. This disc is AMAZING for forehand shots however. It is flat on top with a very comfortable rim for flick shots. You can really power into it with some anny and it will flex and right back to the right for a RHFH shot. I put it in my bag last week and after 3 rounds, I found myself using it 5+ shots a round. Backhand, this disc will require some skill and power to be a workable disc. It will be a wind-fighter, and it will fade left each time. Very reliable, a staple for players throwing trilogy!

I have been testing quite a few of Trilogy's overstable options, and the Felon is one of my favorites. First of all, I absolutely love Lucid plastic. I think Lucid is a superb premium plastic that tends to be a little softer than Champion, which I prefer. As for the Felon, and all of the overstable discs I was testing, it fell somewhere in between many of them.

The Felon is a great balance of stability and distance. It's not so overstable that you can't backhand it, or get any distance out of it, but it is stable enough to be great in all weather conditions and very dependable. The Felon works well as a utility disc, and for all types of shots. I currently use mine more for forehands than backhands, but as Felons beat in they become awesome strait flying discs and I look forward to when I can get a little more strait flight from a backhand throw.

The Felon is somewhat similar to a Firebird, but the Firebird that I used was a very flat disc. Even though the Felon I have is flat as well, it provides me with a lot more distance and a little less stability. I think the Felon is a great disc and can be an important addition to anyones bag.

This disc is awesome. It's so nice knowing is going to consistently far pretty hard no matter what you do. The felon fits in a similar niche as the Innova Firebird but I would say it is a tad longer though. Get this disc. It has opened up so many options for me. It is also a great forehand disc for players with a less well developed form.

The Felon is my favorite new disc of 2015. I stopped throwing Innova about 6 months ago, and was able to find replacements for discs like the Destroyer and Roc. The one slot that was hardest to fill was that "Teebird" role. I know what your thinking, the Felon is supposed to be the answer to the Firebird. I feel like that is up for debate. I tried the Saint Pro to be that super straight for 350'' then a nice fade at the end disc, but it was to unpredictable. In comes the Felon. I've been able to try to the Felon ranging from 168-175. Brand new, any Felon at any weight will be generally overstable, but my lighter weight 168 soon started to hold very straight lines with a decent amount of turn. Nothing crazy in the turn department mind you. My heavier Felons took the same route and once used for a couple months become for me, the ultimate straight with fade fairway driver. I'm looking forward to getting some Sparks because I think they will fly like my seasoned Felons out of the box. Brand new, I use the Felon for forehand shots as well and they are great. If you are looking for a firebird replacement I think the XXX is a better choice. The Felon for me has been the catch all disc for a lot of situation. Just today I was able to throw my light weight seasoned Felon on an uphill anny line 325 feet. I held the anny all the way there and I was 10 feet from the basket. The Felon is definitely a favorite for me. I'm hoping the Spark will fill similar roles in the bag to come.

I have a 166 gram lucid felon.  I initially was somewhat disappointed with it, as I bought it to be a longer Trident (as another review described it).  It may well act that way for a more powerful thrower, but for me it goes a very similar distance to my 170 gram opto Trident when thrown RHBH, just on a more overstable path.  Despite this, I have found myself reaching for it more and more when I need a very overstable disc to throw for hard backhand fades/trick shots.

Where this disc really shines for me is as a forehand disc.  It is overstable enough that it barely turns when thrown full power and flat yet still goes almost as far as my farthest forehand discs.  Because it doesn't turn much I am able to throw it hard and be confident in my shot placement.

In the world of disc golf just about every great player has something in common. That is the over stable fairway driver. For the Innova player it will be the world famous Firebird. Discraft players have the Predator, and Trilogy has the ……AAA….XXX?  Ok let’s face the truth; Trilogy has had a small hole in the fairway driver department. Not to take away from the XXX, hell I have one in my bag. You never know when you will need a shot that fades so hard it messes with the earth’s rotation. Or I could make a bad decision and end up playing in a category 5 hurricane. The XXX is just on a different level then the Firebird, and Predator. That is until now; Hail the brilliant Lucid Felon. This is Trilogy’s answer to the over stable fairway driver. This Speed 9 driver has a rim width of 2.0cm, just a hair wider than the 1.9cm Firebird and Predator. This makes the Felon just a tad faster than its competitors, but not by much. The Felon is for the most part just as over stable as its two counter parts given the discrepancies you get when dealing with plastics.  After some field work with the Felon, I found myself reaching for the Felon more and more. I found that I was hitting my lines with a greater accuracy, and confidence. I credit this to how this disc comes out of your hand, and the slight speed increase.  This disc just has that perfect blend of speed, glide and fade that makes it simply fantastic.  It always fights to finishes left ( RHBH) giving you the confidence a disc of this sort should. It has no fear of the wind, and just loves to hold a line in just about any condition. It can handle the big hyzer bomb with relative ease, but it does great with shorter less powerful shots too. The Felon is over stable, but it’s such a usable over stable that blends distance and control.  If you are a Trilogy player and you don’t have a Felon in your bag, I would get one.  And if you are throwing one of the other two competitor’s, give the Felon a try. It may not bump the undisputed kings out of your bag, but it may find a place in it.

What a fantastic disc! The Felon is the perfect addition to the Dynamic Discs lineup. I believe this disc is the disc for forehand throwers in the fairway category. As you grow as a stronger thrower, it becomes a great backhand hyzer disc as well. It holds its line exceptionally in wind. It also does a great job as an overhand disc. DD version of the Firebird, not a whole lot of difference.  Mine has a bit of dome on it.  Good for 250-350ft hyzer lines.  Put it out on anhyzer and it will run a nice tight s-curve.  Flick it, thumb it, tomahawk it.  Yep kind of reminds me of a stable firebird, not as overstable as the FAF firebirds (that's a good thing).  Honestly it did nothing to make me want to pull my firebirds.  That said, as I lose them the Felon will be the replacement.  Trilogy plastic is just better IMO.

I primarily use it for forehand flicks with a skip. I can flick it with slight turn and will comeback with nice fade. I can throw it really low and skip it. I can throw thumber and tomahawks. Trilogy's answer to Innova's Firebird; an overstable wind fighter. The Felon is quite overstable (think Predator, not Firebird), but quite workable. It doesn't begin to fade immediately out of the hand, rather it flies straight with glide and then fades in a strong hyzer. Overstable, but yet still gets decent distance for those without cannons. Great into the wind, skip shots, or dependable hyzers. Think longer Trident. Opto plastic is so durable, it should hold it's stability a very long time. A must have for those windy tournament days.
