I throw this disc both forehand and backhand depending on the shot, and after just a little break-in I get nice reliable turns that hold for a bit before fading back to the original line or just short. This is one of my most-used discs.

Brand new the undertaker in ESP was a moderately overstable controllable fairway. Once I beat in my undertaker, it turned into a dead straight fairway driver that goes comparably far to my distance drivers. It will pop up to flat and maybe a little past flat and then it just holds that for a long time until it gets a pushing fade at the end of the flight. I love it for getting controllable distance in the woods and shaping pushing hyzer shots and corners where you need the disc to stand up a little bit and glide left instead of diving like an overstable disc would.

This was my first disc that I owned that was given to me by a friend. It took me a couple of months to finally learn how to throw it in order to get the full flight of this disc. For starting with this disc, it was great to learn hyzer shots as it holds the line quite nice. After learning how to throw better, I can now fully utilize the s-curve that this disc is able to achieve. It is a great disc that can hold an anhyzer, flat and hyzer lines quite well.

This disc has become my go-to overstable control driver. I got it because the only overstable control driver I used to have was the Splice, which is a great utility disc but way too overstable to drive the way I want to. This disc has a good mount of glide to it. For me, it has just enough turn when I throw it flat to keep it flying straight right up until it fades. It has a somewhat slow flip into the fade, so I find that I can't put much anhyzer on it if I want it to come back in time. It will fight its way back, but the slow fade out cause too much anhyzer to glide further in the wrong direction if it goes there. I'm a big fan of how it flies, and it is pretty reliable too.

Able to throw on a straight line with a gentle fade or on bigger hyzer lines when needed.

The disc feels good in my hand but if you throw it a little less than perfect then you are going to be looking in the woods. If you throw it right it has nice glide and it a handy fairway driver .

This disc is a beginners dream! I have thrown it in the ESP plastic and the Z Sparkle.

I have not been able to get this to flip over on a backhand but I have had it flip up to flat on a forehand hyzer shot. It's an extremely straight disc with very gentle fade.

I would recommend this disc to anyone who is trying to get more distance out of a fairway driver without having a big hook from it's fade. This disc is great in the woods and will hold any line that you give it. I have not had experience throwing it with a big head wind but I could see it flipping over in that instance.

NOTE: This review is specifically for ESP plastic only

I got this disc as part of a player's pack from in tournament recently in ESP plastic. I picked this disc from a couple other Discraft molds because I have been looking for something in the 8-9 speed range that would replace my lost Champion Valkyrie while being slightly less flippy. Reading the reviews and comparisons to Thunderbirds had me a bit disappointed, as I already bag several Thunderbirds and have no need for overlap in that slot, but upon throwing this disc I found that, at least in ESP plastic, those comparisons were not apt and the Undertaker is more or less what I was hoping it to be. This disc definitely has some turn out of the hand for me, maybe even a little more than -1, with a nice pushing fade at the end. Great glide and distance for a 9 speed as well. It has left to right movement but basically ended up pretty straight in relation to the point of throw after a tight s curve. It is definitely flippier than even my seasoned Pro and G-star Thunderbirds, and certainly much more than Champ and Star versions. In ESP, I don't think there is overlap with those discs. On my first throw with this disc I parked a 300 foot hole for a tap in birdie. That'll work. I will say I've never been a fan of Discraft plastic blends, although ESP is the best of their main plastics IMO. I would comp it to a bit slicker and stiffer Gold Line from Lat64. Assuming the other plastic blends are more stable I could see this mold covering a variety of shots in the 9 speed range. I'm still working this disc into my bag but so far I like it. In the bag for now.

For me, this is a pretty understable disc.  I don't see myself throwing this straight, unless it is on a hyzer flip.  I would say for a beginner it was one of the first discs I was able to throw a flex shot with pretty consistently, which gave me tons of distance without a ton of arm speed.  It is a extremely consistent flyer, so if you have some room for an anhyzer this disc will fly far and consistent.

Me and this disc was like a roller coaster, i was low on it and now im very high on it but simple cause i went from Big Z plastic to ESP plastic don't know why but now its a staple in my bag now for my just straight off the tee shots, highly recommend it for newer players its deceiving to say its an over stable disc its more stable and a straight shot, it will essentially hold any line and fight back to the left.  Some discs can be like that people prefer different plastic, i just wouldn't do Big Z plastic for me and my type of discs. but id say give this disc a try.

Love the undertaker. Mine straight out of the box is pretty overstable for my arm speed, trying to get it beat in some to be a nice straight disc. Overall though great disc. Throw it both forehand and backhand and both shots are looking for something to push straight for a while and then fade towards the back half of the flight. Disc is great for anything 300-340ish for me. Love the way it fits into my hand, currently the overstability of it isn't too bad.  is dependable enough that generally I can tell how its gonna get from point a to point b

I started with a Ti Undertaker and now throw an ESP version.  The Ti Undertaker has almost no turn out of the box and does not beat in.  The ESP starts with a slight bit of turn and begins to be true to the flight numebrs after a month of use.  I use this disc for backhand straight shots and for softer forehand.  This disc is not torue resistant, so a fulls trength forehand will turn and burn immediately.

This disc quickly became my favorite driver. as someone who naturally throws discs on a slight hyzer, the undertaker flips up nicely and fly for about 300 feet dead straight for me. It is a little touchy once beaten in but it maybe be the fact that I got ESP plastic. I have so much fun watching this disc fly with very little effort.

This review is for the Elite Z plastic in 174 gram weight (no review selection available for Z at the moment). The Undertaker is great. It seems like lots of drivers with numbers in this range of speed and stability tend to be more overstable than expected out of the box. There's usually a long break-in period and sometimes you never feel like the disc wears into that sweet spot you were hoping for. With the undertaker, there is a short break in time, but I loved how it flew closer to the numbers than most other fairway drivers with minimal break-in time. If you throw over 350 and have a lot of snap, it'll turn just a little on a flat throw but finish with stability. It just seems to have a natural straight flight that inspires confidence when you step up and imagine your line. It also feels perfect in the hands. No weird edges or angles on the rim. Decent grip too as far as champion/hard plastics go. I'd be interested to see how the ESP compares in flight and feel. Either way, you can't go wrong with this one

Perfect straight, reliable 9-speed. It's grip 'n rip with confidence thanks to a nice stand-up turn and controlled fade. The ESP Taker is the only disc I've bought where after I field tested it for the first time, I immediately jumped online to order another.

I simply will not hit a course without it in my bag. Plus, the ESP plastic is one of my favorite plastics of any manufacturer. Great feel and the unique dyes/stamps are fun, too.

Found this disc after about 8 months of playing. Became an instant favorite. I bought this and the anax at the same time and the anax never made it into my bag while the undertaker became a staple. Im still developing my arm so distance drivers are still iffy but for my arm speed I can juice up the undertaker with a slight anny and watch it sail. It takes a nice flight to the right before coming back left with a soft finish. I don't see this disc leaving the bag ever.

    172 ESP Undertaker

My ESP and Elite Z Undertakers fill the stable fairway driver slot in my bag. This review is for the ESP. Absolutely love the disc. I hate that it took me so long to pick one up. It flies straight with a forward, predictable fade at the end. The amount of fade is easy to control by how I throw the disc. I can keep it fairly straight and it also excels with pure hyzers. It is my workhorse and the disc that I grab for anything over 250 when placement is more important than just distance (and occasional shots less than 250 as well).

Although my FH is a work in progress, this is one of the most comfortable FH discs I have thrown. Sometimes I need something a little more stable (enter Scepter), because this disc likes to stay on a straight line with a good FH release, if I want a solid finish to the right (Right handed). I have gone past my intended turn at times because it stays so straight.

Overall, incredible feel and predictability, spot on for the numbers, and one of my comfort discs. I like the Elite Z and use that for certain shots, but overall, I prefer ESP in this disc.

Easily my favorite in the control/fairway driver slot, the ESP Undertaker is my go-to for shots that need 250'+ of controlled distance. I play in a moderately wooded course with holes between 200' and 300', and the Undertaker comes out for basically any straight shot that needs a little more distance than my Buzzz and has a little more elbow room to work with while I learn to get my form under control.

Having started a little over three months ago, the Undertaker has been a slightly forgiving but "honest" fairway driver that has been helping me to learn form quickly in fieldwork sessions. For beginners, if you spend time focusing on form building and are starting to get 250'+ of distance, the Undertaker might be a candidate to get you some extra length and should serve you well for nearly straight shots and in the quest for 300' and beyond. Enjoy it!

Edit: 8.30.2021 - now with ~7 months under my belt, I've been through tons of discs, took the "12-speed" bait, then "disced down" while working on form and consistency. Now that I can consistently get my midranges out to ~ 275 feet, I've started to pull my 9 and 10 speeds back out. I have multiple ESP Undertakers for field work, and I love their consistency for flat, low straight shots right around and over 300'. At that distance they won't dump or turn over on a slight angle misfire, and are easily my most consistent straight fairway at that distance. Just an incredible mold, and I continue to recommend ESP if you like the grip and its neutral profile for moderate armspeeds.

I got this disc because my bag was missing something in between the Raptor and Mantis. I was skeptical at first because I usually use the Anax for 90% of my shots that require a fairway driver and if I really need something straight I can usually get my Buzzz far enough. I picked it up and it was love at first throw. I got an ESP plastic from my local store and now I can use it on just about every drive. If I throw this disc flat I can get a slight turnover and it will flex for a nice long straight flight. This disc almost always comes out of the turnover and has a very reliable fade. I still tend to lean towards the Anax but this is a close second for my go to. I would recommend this for most beginners as long as you have a little experience under your belt. If you pick this disc up too early it will probably end up hyzering out super early and you won't get the full potential.

This is my Go to disc on almost every drive! I feel I can sometimes get away with a high speed driver, but the undertaker always has my back! The flight path is always super pretty to watch and is very consistent. Can hold a hyzer for you or fight to flat on an Anny for a bigger distance shot. Id highly recommend this as ANYONES first driver

I really enjoy throwing the Undertaker. I personally have two in the Titanium plastic and I really trust the disc in the woods for reliable hyzer flips and baby flex lines. The disc was pretty stable compared to what I was expecting, but I think that it becomes a lot more workable and accessible for players the more beat-in it gets. If you are looking for a workable fairway driver to cover a variety of shots, then the Undertaker is probably the disc for you!

This is a great straight disc, shapeable fairway driver.  I like the flights.  I'm knocking one star off b/c I got in ESP plastic and it feels too slick, much moreso than the ESP I have with my Buzzz or Zone.  I've gone to a Sirius Orion LS, which has a similar flight, but feels a little better in my hands

I've had a Thunderbird as long as I have been playing (3 yrs), and have always loved it.  The Undertaker was a gift and has replaced the Thunderbird.  I find the Undertaker to be faster than the Thunderbird, and just as versatile.  Clean release, straight flight with trustworthy fade.  It just works.  I find myself reaching for it all the time.  It's my main driver off the tee because I know I can trust it, and it's fairly forgiving on poor throws.

The -1 turn will be evident for fast arms, but for moderate arm speeds you'll see straight lines with the Undertaker.  So glad to have this disc.

Mold - This disc has a nice flight path and goes FAR. Put it on the right angle and it flies for days. I saw "on the right angle" because I found it a bit finicky and more understable than I expected. I switched back to the Teebird3 after a few rounds, but that might have more to do with the plastic...

Plastic(s) - This isn't about the disc, but a word about the Discraft plastic. I bought the Undertaker in Titanium plastic, expecting (based on what I read) that it would be comfortable and highly durable. I found it a bit stiff in the hand -- which is ok -- but durable? Nope. I played 1 round on a rocky-ish course and it went from flying like a Teebird3 to flying like a beat-in roadrunner. I started the round throwing it flat and it would give a nice subtle S-curve and finish straight to straight-left. By the next day I was throwing it on a good hyzer and it was turning into the right side trees every time. That was annoying.

Also bought it in ESP after that and the ESP was rock hard. I don't know what to make of Discraft plastic.

Disc - 175 McBeth Ti Undertaker

Feel - The Undertaker feels amazing in the hand. The rim size is the perfect width and the depth of the rim is very comfortable. It feels good for both backhand and forehand. The Ti plastic is extremely durable and also gives a good grip.

Flight - Many people have said that the Undertaker is a longer buzzz but I would have to disagree. It does fly more like a beat in buzzz that will flip up and turn a bit. I really enjoy this disc though for those tunnel shots that I need to throw on a hyzer and flip up and go dead straight the rest of the flight. Obviously, many Discraft pros swear by this disc and it definitely lives up to that name.

Overall - This disc is something that I probably would not recommend to beginners but to more intermediate and advanced players that are looking for a hyzer flip or flex shot disc.

I absolutely love this disc. I have two, one titanium max weight and the other ESP max weight. I originally bought the titanium looking for a very straight flying fairway driver and out of the box it was slightly stable but still relatively straight. I then bought the ESP to get a slightly less stable one I could flip up a little and still have the same finish. After getting used to each of them I can not say enough praise for those two discs. I can throw the titanium one pretty much max power and it wont turn over on me, it will fly dead straight with a good reliable finish at the end. The ESP one will flip up with enough power and angle on it and then slowly start to fade at the end of the flight. Living in Washington we have many wooded courses and these are workhorses on any course. I highly recomend picking these up and giving them a try.

I got the ESP undertaker long after I had wanted to try one out. Up until then, I had gotten by with two molds I still like but not as much as the Undertaker for RHBH control drives. I used to use an Ace Race titanium Mantis and I switched to an MVP neutron Tesla. I still like the tesla for RHFH drives, but the ESP undertaker is more predictable for me personally when light to moderate wind is a factor. The tesla is a very flat disc (only 1.4 cm high) and that makes it comfortable for me to throw FH, but the undertaker is more comfortable in my hand backhand, and I think this is what makes it more predictable for me. Sandwiched between my Daredevil Timberwolf and Mammoth, the Undertaker is a general purpose fairway driver. Thrown flat at speed, it has a noticeable turn, but it also comes back. In headwinds, it is forgiving to a point with your hyzer angle. I love the undertaker because it's one of the few longer distance discs I have which hits the ground about where I intend for it to hit time and again in varying light to moderate wind (and if I don't, it's due to bad form). It is very much the more stable sibling of my timberwolf.

For my arm speed (I max out at 290-320) I use this as my distance driver. I definitely won't be hyzer flipping this but it's a relatively straight flier with consistent finish. I've used it in z and esp and I think it really comes down to personal preference. This isn't the first disc I'd give someone but I think its a great first higher speed driver.

The undertaker is a well-made disc. It is very true to its flight ratings and feels great in the hand. The swirly ESP plastic is also quite pretty. It is a great disc for a nice full s-flight and can be hyzer flipped for some serious distance. I would recommend the undertaker to a beginner with a little bit of experience looking for a disc to bridge the gap between a 6 or 7-speed control driver and a 12 or 13-speed distance driver. It can really help with learning to shape lines.

Love this disc.  I gave up throwing escapes because it was so easy to turn over too much.  This gives just a little more fight at the end.  The perfect flight for me is releasing on a slight hyzer and getting it to stand up and drift right for maybe 10-20 feet before fading back.  It's a great disc for low control shots in the woods.  This has great glide and only misses my distance drivers by 5-10%.  I use this disc all the time.  Titanium is very similar, but I havent beat those in well enough to do a good comparison.

This is a fantastic disc! I just recently started throwing more Discraft and a friend of mine kept raving about this disc. I use to have a hyzerbomb marksman and a lucid escape that would fill most of that spot. This disc came along and kicked both out of my bag. I can rip on this thing to about 350-365, it wont turn over for me and I like that I can still give it enough anny and it will hold the anny and land on it. When I throw this thing flat it stays straightr a long ways and then a hint of turn shows for a brief part of the flight before it starts to pull back to the left with a forward fade. This is truly a workhose that I find myself going to throw more and more often. Mine is a 172 swirly ESP.

The Undertaker is an incredible disc that has easily taken the top spot among fairway drivers in my bag. I have two in ESP and recently ordered one in the Z FLX hoping that it is a bit more stable. This disc is perfect for any straight shots in that 350-375 range and in. For a 9 speed disc it really holds its own, you can RIP these on a flat line and it wont turn over. For anyone looking for a comparison, I would say this disc flies similar to a beat in Thunderbird. Definitely a staple in my bag from here on.

I bag an ESP Undertaker and I have really fallen in love with it for straight fairway shots. I used to lean on some more understable molds that would hyzer flip and fly straight, but now I just throw the Undertaker flat and hard. When thrown on a small hyzer/flat the Undertaker pierces straight and has a very soft fade. I love the Undertaker for 350' straight shots. I do think it's a little slower than advertised.

This is becoming one of my favorite control drivers. It is very consistent and has good glide. I rated the speed a little lower since I can't throw a speed 9 disc with any consistency at this point.

This is one hell of a disc! It is my main control driver and I can get any line with it. I use it for hyzer flip shots and when thrown flat, and the things a Lazer beam, seriously! It will give me a great deal of turn when thrown hard, and a nice S curve shot that lands dead straight. I'm currently working one in to use as for anhyzers and rollers that's a lighter weight.

The rim is very comfy, and is smaller feeling, more like an 8 speed in my opinion. The newer ESP plastic with the flight numbers feels and looks amazing, and is breaking in very slowly, evenly and nicely. Mine still seems pretty new, but has many rounds. Mine is a slime color with contrasting swirls and a blue bubble metallic stamp, hot as hell!

I use this disc for everything, you may only need one other driver if you use this one. A high speed driver for Max distances. For that check out the Thrasher or Punisher! I cannot recommend this any more for control fairway needs! It earns it's 5stars for sure!
