This is definitely one of the less popular distance drivers from Discraft, but I think it deserves more credit. It has a nice feel in the hand, and a moderately sized rim, which makes for good control. It definitely is fast, between 11 and 12 speed. It does not have too much glide though. I would even say the glide is 4. And it has a predictable but not excessive fade. Overall a solid distance driver. Almost like a cross between a wraith and destroyer, or a slightly slower Force

The Punisher is extremely overstable. Its even more overtable than the Nuke. I strongly recommend it for advanced players who have a powerful arm.

This disc is great! One of my favorite drivers in my bag. Has some decent over stability and great glide. Forehand or backhand the disc shines. You can get a slight hyzer flip with a lot of arm speed. Its rim is to massive and it's a easy distance disc. Check it out.

Basically a Crank with some harder fade at the end, this disc is definitely still a workhorse. It's a beast in windy conditions, and will probably never leave my bag. If you're having a hard time controlling the fade, maybe try out the Z FLX or ESP plastics for some understability right off of the tee pad.

Very overstable disc. Good for short hyzer lines, and forehands. I personally use this as my 250ft forehand roller, and it always finishes left. Great for skips too!

After reading reviews about this disc I was excited to try it.  People touted it as "the Discraft Destroyer" and incredible bomber.  This is not what I experienced.

I actually own two Z-line Punishers and they both seem to fly the same.  Throwing full power with a hyzer, the disc will flip all the way up and turn for about half the flight with a somewhat reliable fade at the end.  I wouldn't compare this to a destroyer, probably closer to a Shryke, Destroyer hybrid.  It is definitely less stable than a destroyer, but its also far from a roller.  I don't want to say it is a bad disc because it is not.  It is simply not what I expected.

If you flip a surge but can't quite flip your Force, try the Punisher.

Easy to grip for backhands, lots of distance potential. Accurate. Performs better in the wind than I expected. WAY more stable than a crank. Doesn't feel great for flick releases.

My Punisher is still new but this is how a 168g flies with full power:

Pure hyzer release behaves like a stable fairway driver, accurate out to 350+ on high fading throws with no risk of turning over but not too much angle on it's way down. Slight hyzer stands up to flat and flies straight for a while and then a long soft fade.

Flat to Anni = incredible glide, rides the turn forever and still flexes out at the end with less dump than most discs that can handle a slight anni release with 400' of power.

This is out-of-the-box, we'll see what this disc does when it beats in, I expect it will become my max-distance hyzer flip disc eventually.

A good comparison for how it feels in the hand is an innova beast. For how it flies, picture your favorite distance driver when it's reached that perfect stage of beaten in, it's like that...which I guess means that once it hits a few trees I'm going to turn it over into a lake. For now, it's going to take the spot in my bag left vacant by my super-beat AJ destroyer that I turned over into a pond the other day.

if you like the Innova Destroyer you will like this disc. Discraft finally did it ! They made a destroyer equivalent.

This thing has amazing glide and speed, you need to have a big arm to get the most out of this disc.

This disc made it into my bag after just a couple throws it was exactly what I was looking for, a less stable Force. If you like the force but don't like that they take forever to beat in then pick yourself up a couple of these. My go to driver of choice you can also liken it to a longer Predator. Now I have a Powerhouse combo the Predator and the Punisher. Love it!!!

If you're looking for a 10 Speed control driver that is stable, but not overstable.. LOOK NO FURTHER!!

I disagree with the flight numbers published on this website, as it is nowhere near as fast as a Destroyer. The rim is a similar size to 11 Speed discs, and I feel as if it flies a tad slower than a Wraith or PDx.

The Z version of this disc flies very close to the Innova Thunderbird, but fits much better in the hand. It has a similar "lip" on the rim of the disc to the Discraft Flash or DGA Hurricane. It is the perfect disc for straight shots with tons of glide, or put a little hyzer on it and throw it hard for a smooth hyzer line. This disc also has enough stability to handle powerful forehand throws, however if you over torque it, it will turnover on you.

All in all, this is a fantastic disc and fills a HUGE gap in Discraft's lineup. Checkout the ESP version of this disc for more stability. These are the Test Flight discs released last year, and are noticeable more overstable.

    I LOVE THIS DISC!

I got the chance to try out an Elite Z Discraft Punisher the other day, and overall it was a good disc. The first disc I think to compare it with is a Wraith, but a champion plastic one that is a little more overstable. I would also say that the rim for the Punisher is a different shape and slightly smaller than the Wraith.

The rim shape was slightly rounded on the edge, causing a bit of a point on the bottom that you would never really notice except when flicking. I am not saying that I particularly liked it or disliked it, but it is a noticeable feature on the disc.

Other than that, I would say the disc met my expectations. I'd say it flew true to the 1.7 stability rating Discraft gave it. it was straight with a strong but gradual fade. It wasn't dumpy, but definitely overstable. If you really crank on it you can get it to turn slightly, but again, it has a predictable fade.

It won't find a home in my personal bag, but if you love the feel of Discraft plastic (like me) and think this flight range might be something you are looking for, I'd have no hesitation recommending this disc. Give it a shot! It is also in that speed and stability range that might be perfect for a novice player who is starting to get their throw down and want to try something a little faster and more overstable.

Disclaimer: I bag 3 Punishers, all max weight.

The Punisher is the DIscraft disc that flies closest to a lightly seasoned Destroyer.  When thrown flat at around 400-425 feet of power, it will drift right, glide a long ways, and then have a nice, predictable fade at the end.  It's great for really long, glidey hyzer shots and long straight shots with little lateral movement.  Pairs extremely well with a Crank and a Force, and is a great addition to the Discraft lineup.

Holding the Elite Z Punisher in my hand, I wasn't sure what to expect. It feels like a high-speed driver, but the rim is not nearly as wide as the Nuke series discs from Discraft, so it feels like it should fall somewhere in the "speed 10" to "speed 12" category, which is a more manageable speed for most intermediate to experienced players. The rim felt good, though the brand new Elite Z plastic was a bit slick for my tastes (I love Elite Z when it has been beat in a bit and has a little more grip, or Titanium is my Discraft favorite). I was excited to take the disc out and give it a few throws.\

Following the success of the 2016 Undertaker release, I figured that the Punisher was probably a notch up in speed from that disc, making it a longer distance version. To some degree, I found that to be true, but the Punisher has more fade than an Undertaker as well as more distance potential. I can get an Undertaker to fly pretty straight until the very last moment, but the Punisher pulls pretty hard into that fade, so I really had to throw the disc hard to get the distance that I wanted.

Once I got the hang of the Punisher, I enjoyed throwing it. I had to keep it low to get more distance, but it was also fun to throw on big, arching hyzer shots. When I tried to anhyzer the disc, it fought right back into the fade. I would not recommend the Punisher for new players, but would recommend it as a stable to overstable distance driver for experienced players. I personally struggled to get it past 300 feet because of the fade, but it was very consistent in that regard.
