Let me start off this review by saying I have not and will never throw this disc backhand. This disc is too fast and overstable to be a reliable option backhand for me. If you are looking for an incredible forehand disc then look no further. I have had a force in my bag for the longest time and never really use it unless I am practicing. I got a Punisher and started using it as my water disc to get over creeks and ponds not really caring if I lost it. After using it just a few times I knew that this was more than a water disc. I use the Punisher for mostly all my hyzer forehand shots now. Even though it has the same flight ratings as the Force I can see a bit of a difference. My 5 Claw Z-Line force is more overstable then my Big Z Punisher. I can throw the Punisher around 300ft flat before it begins to fade or skip and can push it to around 350ft on a high hyzer. I do not use this on flex lines because I use my Zeus but I'm sure it would work out perfectly and push to around 400ft. My accuracy with this disc is better then I thought it would be and I can place it practically anywhere. I hardly ever let the Punisher get the best of me with a bad throw unless I completely burn it into the ground on a worst-case scenario. This disc is not for beginners whatsoever. You need to have proper form in order to throw it or it will hyzer about before it even comes out of your hand. It gets 4 stars from me simply because I cannot throw it backhand unless I need a spike hyzer within 300ft which I would just use another disc for. (Anax, Vulture, Raptor).

We have a 175g Big Z version of this disc.  It is extremely overstable and not a good choice for beginners.  My 10-year-old son and I are improving, but nowhere close to good enough to make any use of this disc.  One positive thing to say about it is that is is so overstable that it doesn't fade; it just drops from its flight and digs into the ground.  By this, I mean that it flies straight for ~200' (again, we are beginners) and the left side of the disc appears to suddenly get heavy and falls to the ground.  It flies straight and ends straight (if it doesn't roll) instead of fading to the left.  I hope that we can make use of this disc at some point, but I don't even include it in my field practice throws.  This disc came in a starter pack; the image showed an Avenger SS driver, but it did state that discs, colors and weights varied.  I don't know why Discraft would put this into a starter pack; it doesn't make any sense.  I will revise this review once we get good enough to make use of this disc.  In the meantime, there are much better overstable distance driver choices for beginners (in order of preference): Westside Sorcerer, Innova Wraith, Prodigy D Model S, and Dynamic Discs Tresspass.  We are to the point of getting some high speed turn out of all of the above discs expcept for D Model S, but they can still function as overstable drivers.  Sorcerer, especially, is a great disc.

This is a fantastic driver. I'm an intermediate player with 350 foot range arm and this is my most consistent distance driver. Its over-stable but breaks in nicely and flies like a fairway driver. Its a step up in stability from the thrasher but feels very similar in the hand. Great straight flyer.

The Punisher seems to be one of those drivers that slipped under the radar. No one ever talks about them, and you never see people throw them. That said, I feel like the Punisher is pretty underrated. Its a fairly neutral flier in the speed 12 category. It has a somewhat narrower, yet shallower, rim than a Destroyer.

IMO the Punisher flies like a broken in Destroyer. It glides well and has a touch of high speed turn on hard throws. I found it to be very reliable, and it will withstand a little headwind.

Discraft's Kong seems to be getting all the ink, but I feel like the Punisher flies a little better. The Punisher has a flatter profile than the Kong, and seems to glide and penetrate better.

The Punisher is a very steerable driver, and I found myself able to dial it in pretty quickly. Very consistent and accurate.

The Punisher is a good option for people wanting a Discraft Destroyer type disc. I won't call it beginner friendly, but intermediate players should be able to handle it well. Underated disc, very much worth a look.
