I only give this disc a 4 because it's pretty unpredictable in the wind but I have been putting with a magnet for 15 years and love it. if your a hyzer putter you will not like this disc as it flies dead straight. but for me being a straight putter it has just enough glide for the longer putts and almost never chains out despite being soft. you can also get it to fly Lazer straight when spin putting only downfall for me is they really don't fly very far if your putting c2 or farther I feel like they are almost too floppy and kinda loose alot of speed from the increased aid drag of being floppy during flight. I learned to putt on this disc so I will say very beginner friendly although the lip may not sit well for those with smaller hands for me I have huge hands and it fits like a glove.

This disc feels a lot like a traditional frisbee to me. I bought this when trying out different putters and for my hands, it's a bit deep. I also lean towards more overstable putters. Solid disc, just not for me.

This is a great putter. If you like beaded putters, the bead on the magnet feels really nice. For beginners, it is a great disc to learn to throw flat, straight shots. The Jawbreaker plastic beats in quite quickly, so I always a couple of these. Once broken in, they can still execute straight hyzer flips or turnovers. Great disc!

This is the first Discraft putter I've used and it works well for circle 1 and just outside. It's a bit too understable for me to throw much longer. I also don't use it at all for throwing so I can't comment on using it for that purpose. Really not a fan of the poor durability of the Jawbreaker plastic though. Love the feel of it but if you hit anything other than grass or chains it's going to get gouged or dinged up. Save some money and buy it in Pro-D

The Magnet, from Discraft, has been a very popular putter mold for a long time now. This is a very neutral flying disc that excels in and out outside the circle for putting. When I used it off the tee, I really could dial it in like I would like. It lacked stability that I am used to when driving. I did, however, enjoy the Magnet for touch upshots that didn't require much power. This is a great option for those getting into the sport or experienced players looking to try a new disc.

This is a good, straight-flying putter that fits comfortably in my hand. I have only tried the Jawbreaker plastic version of this disc and it is soft and grippy. I find the plastic a little too soft, but that is just personal preference.

The Magnet is a great putter for straight approaches, for glidey straight drives, and, like basically any putter, smacking the chains from close range.

Choosing a putter for close putting is more about the feel in your hand than about flight characteristics.  In that regard, the Magnet has a stiff bead, a short rim, and a slightly domed top.  I found it suited my grip well, but this is 100% subjective.

For longer throws, the Magnet is slightly understable, and can reliably take anhyzer lines.  I find that the Magnet has one of the most predictable and manageable flips of short range discs that I've played with.  If you have a straight line to the target, the Magnet can fly guaranteed straight for a surprising distance, and the bead helps it grab the ground and stick.  This has gotten me out of countless bad lies in the woods, and saved a good number of bad drives.  Jawbreaker plastic is very grippy, soft enough to "bend it like Beckham," and grabs chains.  I have a soft Magnet also, and that performs similarly, but with less durability and grippiness.

My biggest complaints are the bead, the flippiness, and the Jawbreaker plastic.  Those are also the strengths, mind you - no disc is perfect, and you need to know the tool so you can get the right one for the job.  The bead on the Magnet is so stiff that it actually makes it painful for my forehand grip (which is, admittedly, abnormal).  I have always needed to bag two putters for this reason alone.  This problem is compoumded by how the Jawbreaker plastic breaks in.  Instead of just generally getting softer and "flaking" like Pro-D, the Jawbreaker gets hard cuts and jagged edges.  The flight pattern has not really changed, but sometimes it digs at my hand on release, especially in the cold.  Finally, the flippiness means that even a heavy Magnet struggles with consistency in the wind.

Overall, I love mt Magnet.  I'd highly recommend it to just about anyone.

I have a soft magnet but it was not an option at the top. This is my backup putter and one that I use if I want the disc to land and stay near the basket. My main putter is the DD Judge. I got my soft magnet putter for winning a ring of fire competition. This is a putter that I recommend.
