I've been trying out putters for a few years now. I started with DX Aviars (beadless) and thought they were just okay; they fly straight, but I couldn't get a consistent release on them. I next tried out a Classic blend Judge (decent-sized bead) to see whether a bead and some better plastic might make a difference. It fit my hand a little better, but wasn't quite what I was looking for. Since, I've experimented with P1s (same as an Aviar, but loving that P-line plastic), a variety of Gateway putters (Magic > Warlock > Wizard, for me), and the other Dynamic putters.

I ended up settling on Magnets once I figured out that I prefer a tiny bead, softer plastics, and a slightly understable putter. The combination of the disc height and the size of the bead has allowed me to achieve a consistent release using my current putting method (fan grip, finger on the rim/bead, thumb pretty close to the rim, and moderate spin from the wrist).

Thanks to the misprint discount here, I've managed to get Pro-D, X-Soft, and Jawbreaker variants of the Magnet (i.e. 3 discs) for the same price as one of my fairway drivers. As putters, my Magnets go super straight and glide just enough for my in-the-circle shots. As approach discs, they fly straight (even with a little nose-up release) and end with a slight fade, though I prefer something a little more overstable in more durable plastic (e.g. Big Z Roach, C-Line P2, BT Hard Harp) for my approaches. My advice is to try out lots of different kinds of putters (borrow them from friends or find a shop that lets you play a trial round) and see which feels best; for me, for now, I'm using the Magnet.

Great disc to start out with the only down fall is that there is not a lot of distance that you get with it.
