    Pro-D Details

Pro-D is Discrafts affordable basic plastic blend. This isn't the most durable plastic, but it provides good grip and is very affordable. For old school disc golfers that like to "break in" thier discs for varying flight paths, Pro-D is an excellent choice. It is also one of the most popular blends for putters and is often referred to as "putter line" plastic.

Disc is so money, I've been throwing and putting with magnets for years. I love the 4 chain glow magnets for putting but for throwing I love the Pro-D magnet. Out of the box It's very torque resistant and straight for faster armspeeds. But once you beat It In, It gets to be pretty money. I love throwing my somewhat beat in Pro-D Magnet on hyzer-flip to turnovers from 120-300feet. Also great beginner disc aswell!

I actually like this disc as more of an approach disc, or one that you use to make sure it lands and stays put. The hand feel is a little too strange for putting, the bottom of the rim feels more like that of a midrange (specifically a dynamic disc bounty.) Fairly straight flight with a soft finish that just sits.I have a slightly larger than average hand size, but the rim depth is still a little too deep for forehands.Great plastic feel and a great learner disc even in heavier weights.

I had one of these in base plastic 10-12 years ago. It's a rather deep and narrow rim compared to most putters. I prefer the more modern little wider rim and shallower feel. I have medium-large hands and this disc just feels too bulky.

Nothing really wrong with the disc, just for me personally I never jived with the feel. I could see other people liking this disc if you like the depth and bulkier narrower rim.

I also adjusted the flight numbers as well slightly.

A Soft Magnet was my very first disc and it is still a very fun disc for me. I use it for very short turnovers that glide to the right similar to a Frisbee. Of course in the soft plastic I know it will sit where it hits too. I would highly recommend the comfortable feel and smooth flight to any new player!

I have a pro-d and jawbreaker plastic. The pro-d I use for throwing and absolutely love to throw it straight. It holds just about any line I put it on though. I let a couple friends use it when they were learning and of all the discs they tried this was the disc they ended up buying. I putt with the jawbreaker plastic. I love the grip that I get with it, and since I don't throw it, it has aged very well and I am having no issues with plastic durability.

I think the magnet is an excellent beginner disc as well as an all around amazing putter. I bought this disc for my girlfriend as her first putter and was teaching how to throw with this disc. She was able to throw it straight and the stable flight allowed it to not just dump left like a lot a beginner players find happening with more overstable discs. She has not putted a lot with it but I am certain she will like it for in the circle putting as well. For me I found this disc to be a very consistent point and shoot disc. I can throw it straight at the basket on some softer power shots and it will fly straight to it and sit down. For in the circle putts there is a little stable finish but nothing that pulls your disc down to quickly. It allows you to really run putts and feel confident when you do. I really enjoy the feel of this disc for putting, the rim has the perfect little ridge for my index finger and it just feels secure in my hand. I would not be amazed to find that this is a lot of peoples first putter and I think its for a good reason. If you are looking for a beginners first disc or even just a good all around putter check out the magnet. I do not think you will be disappointed.

My first disc from Discraft after being a long devoted Innova fan. I was impressed. To me this is an excellent option for just outside the circle or inside the circle putts. It will hold a line and catch those chains like the name suggests. However, I never use this disc for long approaches or drives. Just can't generate the distance others can get from this. I would recommend getting a couple cheap Pro-D plastic Magnets and just practice your putting game and watch yourself improve. Drive for dough and putt for show.

I was using an Aviar for years... until I was a putter short at a recent tournament and a friend lent me one of his magnets.

Now I own 3 of these.

This putter fits my hand perfectly and is comfortable on the release.

And I swear they do have magnets in them... they are attracted to the chains.

This is a decent putter for actually, you know, putting. I had no problems with getting it into the basket once I was up there. If that's all you want this for, then the Magnet isn't a bad choice. The reason why I don't bag one is because it's not a disc that I like to use for any sort of approach shot. The rim somehow manages to snag and physically hurt the last joint on my index finger when I try to throw it hard, and that disqualified this disc for me. I still pull it out when I just want a bunch of putters to practice putting with, but I don't carry it around for my normal rounds because putting is the only thing it's good for while my preferred putters are also good for approach shots.

Soft plastic (wasn't an option at the top) somewhere in the 170s. The first putter I was actually able to trust. Shallower rim and a serviceable putter. I prefer colts, pures, and judges to this putter, but there's nothing wrong with it.

I've got a light 161-163 Magnet that is an awesome long range putter when wind is not a factor.  I've nailed several difficult putts with it, and I'm a mediocre putter at best!  I love the rim, which is very comfortable for finger placement, especially if you are not fond of beaded putters.  The Pro-D plastic is nice and grippy, but of course it won't last very long beating on the chains.  It also sits down nicely without much rolling or skipping, which is a great benefit when going for the basket at distance.

The Magnet is a very beginner friendly putter that flies with some turn and a tiny amount of fade. I can be put on most lines and hold it over short distances, and is a good putting putter as well.

Unfortunately the weirdly domed outer wing makes it almost ungraspable for me, and though it's not a tall putter, that makes it feel much bigger than it it.

    Great flight, really bizarre feel.

The magnet is one of the more popular putters I hear recommended for beginners. I picked one up and mostly enjoyed it. I even made my longest putt to date on my first round throwing it! I really enjoyed putting with this disc. It has a distinctly different feel from an Aviar, another very popular model. If you can feel which one you prefer out of your hand before you buy, I would suggest doing that. I love the feel for putting, but not for drives. That would be my only knock on this disc, that something doesn't feel right out of my hand when I try to throw on a drive. Putts and upshots feel great though! Overall, I really enjoy this disc and would recommend this disc for anyone.

The magnet was the first putter that I bought multiples of. I liked to throw with it and putt with it. As a putter it is very straight and really just goes where you throw it. So if you make a bad putt, it is obvious that it was you and not the disc. I have 3 aces with magnets on short holes. They are a great disc for driving on short holes. For a beginner I think they are perfect putters. Even if this was the only disc a beginner had, I think they would still have a lot of fun. Magnets helped me with my form and control before I moved on to different putters and eventually drivers.

I found one of these on a road. It feels good in the hnd, sticks in the chains, and flies like you would expect a putter to fly. Unfortunately, mine was run over a few times, so the bottom is full of sharp edges. I'll have to sand it down, because it cuts my hand up when I throw it.

This putter was a game changer when I first started into this sport. It's great for straight approaches and when it goes in the basket it stays in. This SHOULD be a definite first putter for everyone you know. Not only does it feel great in the hands, but that transfers over even when the disc becomes worn in. As it ages you'll notice that it's still amazing. You'll keep buying magnet after magnet till you realize you're really hooked!!

Definitely MY KIND OF PUTTER! Consistency in feel every time I pull it out of the bag. Very attracted to those chains!
