If you have trouble bending enough for your forehand throws and throw kind of in a baseball motion this disc is made for you!  I know people say you should start with understable discs to learn a forehand, but for me its never worked right.  I have to throw highly overstable for my forehand to work well and this disc has added like 20% to my distance.  It bombs for me.

My Flick is the most stable disc i have besides the Tilt.  Mine is more stable than the Rask, Nuke OS, XCal, etc.    Great for headwinds and huge flare shots.

The ultimate forehand meat-hook. It is so overstable that even if you accidentally turn your wrist over upon release, it will still come out of it. This makes it great for forehand flex shots for max distance. Also great for sharp hyzers around obstacles or even low ceiling corridors, depending on that ground play. The flat and sharp design of the disc allows for it to achieve a 20ft - 30ft skip off the ground at the end of the flight.

Go to thumber disc. Super flat and overstable. can get 325' easy out of this when others barely break 275'.

Don't have enough power to throw this backand - just meathooks to the ground.

Can be useful for forehand flicks (I see what they did there).

Oldest disc in my bag, super beat up, and still carries a reliable fade.  I put this at somewhat beginner friendly because I have witnessed many beginners start playing with a sidearm (including myself) and throwing with a heavy anhyzer.  This disc works well in this instance fade back to form a nice flex, much similar to the Boss.

I really did not have the best time with the flick. I am a backhand dominant player and the flick was way too overstable for my forehand. So I tried backhanding this disc and just did not like it. I could never get a useful flight out of my backhand and it was not something I would be able to utilize. If you have a strong far throwing forehand this disc may be something you like. My take is this disc is like a further flying raptor/predator/firebird. But it is really overstable so if you do not have the power to get over on this thing it wont go much further. I would choose the other three over this disc because you can control a 9 speed a lot better than a 12 speed. I feel like this disc lost a lot of the extra distance it would have over a 9 speed disc for me because of how overstable it was mixed with the 12 speed. But in the end this disc is designed for forehands and mine really is trash so I probably am not the best person to give accurate information if this disc is great or not. I just would choose a slower more controllable driver than a high speed meat hook like the flick is for me.

It's an ok disc .. I just don't see the point of bagging this when you have the raptor or firebird discs avaiable. For sidearms I'd def recommend those two discs over this in this speed range.

I currently bag a Firebird for multiple reasons over the flick, but I did enjoy my time with it for a little bit. It basically is used for sharp hyzer shots forehand or backhand that can be spiked skipped whatever. You can also make up some crazy shots and scramble well with it. the one thing I did like about it was it was slightly faster than a Firebird but definitely not a speed 12, more like a 9.5 or 10. The reason I bag a Firebird over the Flick though is feel, the rim on a Flick seems very shallow and hard to hold onto some days.

So I've carried a flick on and off for years.  As my game has changed so has the shots I need the flick for. It has a unique ability to hold its height and not take off on you, while going straighter than you think. I usually get this thing out to about 150 on an anyhyzer release before it dumps. I do prefer my beat in one to a new one, but you'll have to wear yours in on your own.

This is definitely the most over stable disc I have used.  I like to pull it out once every few rounds if I find myself in a position that I must send with a more extreme hyzer.  I wouldn't say that I use this disc confidently, or that I want it in a daily bag.  Maybe over time...

One of the most overstable discs you can buy. It's shallow and FAST! Great if you face 30 mph headwinds or throw OH shots with power.

I would bump the speed up to 11 on this one easily, maybe 12.

I still have one but I'm not sure if I'll bag it again over the myriad of other options I can choose from.

Throw this disc as hard as you can. On a hard anny. Forehand. It will fly fast out of the hand and fight back to a flex at any angle. I can throw this about 370 with a full flex forehand. It's great for those RHFH shots where you need to KNOW that your shot will finish right. If there's any headwind and I'm worried about turning my champ firebird over, this is the disc I reach for!

The Flick is one of the most unique discs on the market. It is board flat (I have a TI Flick that has a slight dome, but it is the only one I have seen.), sometimes even concave, has a very shallow profile and 10-11 speed rim width. Due to this, throwing the flick backhand can be a bit uncomfortable at first; however, it feels amazing for forehand air shots, forehand rollers, and overhand shots. A fresh flick will be the most overstable driver in your bag, rivaling any Innova max, XXX, or other hybrid overstable driver you can find. They hold their stability for a long, long time as well. One of my flicks is 8+ years old (that I got used) and is still more stable than my most stable Vultures. I keep my worked flick and a fresh, very overstable flick in the bag at all times. There is definitely some overlap with my Raptors, but I find they fly further and finish harder than my Raptors. Very similar flight to the Machete, with the concave Flicks more stable; the Machete just has a more traditional feel in the hand. If you are looking for a faster, more stable Raptor, give the flick a try!

This disc is a bit strange. I've owned 2, and the first (Elite Z) was a very stable, reliable forehand disc that I could get a decent amount of distance from before the fade kicked in. Really loved the disc for consistency.

I lost it and looked to replace it. Got a new Elite Z Flick, and it ended up being the most overstable disc I've ever thrown. The +1 turn rating is actually accurate because it starts a hard, dumping fade literally the instant it leaves my hand. No other disc I own even comes close to being as overstable as this thing. It's like throwing a brick.

Now, it's my go-to for flex forehand shots, and it will finish right with a hard fade no matter what angle I release it at. Very useful for utility shots on certain holes, but overall the disc sees a lot less use because of how ridiculously overstable it is. If you find yourself needing a disc that will always finish with a monster fade no matter the wind conditions or angle of release, this is the one

This disc did not work well for me. When I bought it I thought it would be perfect for my game because at the time my forehand was the best part of my game and I was getting decent distance. I found that this disc both wanted to drop out of the sky to early and didn't even get the kind of ground play you would want for a disc this stable. It tended to just knife in vertically from any height. I did find it worked well for precision overhand shots at short distances. Definitely not a disc I would recommend for someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with very overstable discs.

The Flick is a true meathook, overstable utility disc from Discraft. Often times I see the debate of Predator vs Firebird, but I think it should be the Flick vs Firebird discussion. A Firebird like flight is what I get from this disc. It does have a bit of a wider rim, but I was throwing them about the same distances. It goes straight for a little ways and then hooks up and dumps quickly. Great disc for the purpose it was made for.

Absolutely hated this disc. I could only use it for two holes across the few courses I play because they had 90 degree turns 50 feet from the tee, and this was the only disc that I didn't have to change my angles to hit. Never could use it for anything else because it was too stable for fairway distance and too unpredictable on the ground for approaches. Dynamic's Criminal has the same numbers except 1 higher speed, and the Flick is probably a tier more overstable than the Criminal.

Let me start with little backstory on this disc. I had one maybe 10 years ago that was literally like 1/2 inch tall. I threw it on a low, flat line, and it would fly flat for like 350' and then fade right. My go to driver on every throw. Then I lost it, and I've never been able to find one like it again. Now I bag an Elite Z Flick and I can say that I haven't found a beefier disc out there. I use it for a variety of shots, nothing for distance though. I can throw it on a flex line with 45 degrees of anhyzer, forehand or backhand, and you can bet that thing is coming back to natural fade. Hard fading shots, I throw it flat and at about 150'-200' it starts it's very hard fade. Again, i'm not getting anything over 300' with this disc. But on a wooded course, with a lot of winding fairways or super tight turns, this is my disc.

Very Very Overstable. The most overstable disc that I own. For reference, I have a Nuke OS, Latitude 64 Trident, Firebirds, they're no where near as overstable as this disc. This disc requires a lot of power unless you're just looking for the meatiest of meat hooks. I do like the feel of it as it is very thin and flat, but at 170 g and in Elite Z plastic, it's just too much for me. As reference, the Elite Z that this disc is in feels stiffer than other discs that I have in Elite Z, so I'm not sure if I got an especially meaty one. The rim also feels bigger than a speed 9 disc.

The Flick is super overstable, even in lighter weights.  If you want to learn to FH get a lighter weight Flick.  Gets great distance despite how stable it is.  I'd give it a 10+ in terms of speed...just seems so much faster than my other speed 9's.  A must for fairway overhand shots (thumbers or hammers or rollers that stay left all the way RHFH).  This is a classic disk and there remains nothing else like it in feel or flight.

With any disc, the only way to know if you will like it is to throw it!

I so wanted to give this disc 5 stars but couldn't because I have both the Elite Z and Z Fly Dye in my bag.  I do not throw any other discraft discs and purchased this one specifically for sidearm shots.  I started with the Fly Dye at 174g and my first 3 shots with it were all over the place.  Wrist angle, torque, follow through, etc affect this disc so much and any little difference gives it a different flight.  However, on my 4th ever throw with this disc, I got my 3rd ever ace.  I threw a sidearm spike hyzer and it crashed into the basket...and yes....it was witnessed!  If thrown correctly, this disc will glide for days.  I don't usually thrown sidearms over 300 ft but with this, I can get it out to 350 ft if I get a little flip out of it.  Any further and I probably wouldn't have as much control.  It's great for tunnel shots too and again, if thrown correctly, it glides forever.

Now, for the Elite Z version, these are total meathooks.  I purchased 2 of them as backups thinking they would fly very similar.  Boy, I couldn't have been more wrong.  They are both 174 g and I cannot flip them to save my life.  They will still fly far with a good release, they just do not flip up.  They will hold a straight line for about 100 ft then begin to fade.  So when you see reviews that these do not flip or turn, I can certainly vouch for that!

So bottom line, I would roll the dice with the fly dye plastic.  I just ordered one due in tomorrow in hopes that it will fly similar to my original.  If you are patient and willing to work and figuring out the correct angles, release, etc for this disc, I think you will be pleasantly suprrised and rewarded.  If you are expecting to go out right away and be one with the disc, you will be very disappointed.  IMO, this disc you either love or hate.

This is my go-to utility and big hyzer disc. I can throw thumbers, backhands, forehands, rollers, and big hyzer shots comfortably with this disc and know exactly where it'll end up. It's definitely one of the most predictable discs ever created. The Z Flick has a very flat top which makes for a very comfortable grip whether throwing backhand, forehand, or thumber and it always has a predictable flight path. It'll be able to fight through any headwind and the majority of trees it passes through. Also, I think the numbers are pretty spot on for the Flick- Speed: 9.0, Glide: 4.0, Turn: 1.0, and Fade: 4.0. If you're looking for a very overstable, utility disc, look no further than the Discraft Flick.

This is a very one dimensional disc in my opinion. It serves alright as a forehand disc, it obviously is designed to be used for that, but there are so many other options on the market that offer more than the Flick. It feels sort of similar to the Max or TeeRex from Innova, but either of those discs provide a different dynamic to the thrower that allows for better shot shaping. If you're looking for a great forehand disc, do your research and keep on looking.

This disc took me awhile to start liking.  I got it specifically for a few holes on my home course that have a tight OB on the left.  I throw RHFH and was looking for a disc that could fight the wind on these holes and not turn OB.  At first, I couldn't get this disc to do anything but fade instantly into the ground.  I was only getting about 200 feet, maybe, on drives.  The disc is very thin and flat, so it took a little while to get use to it.  I since have gotten it figured out, broken it in a bit, and now it comes out of the bag a lot more often.  Very dependable and one I can have a lot of confidence throwing into a wind and still being aggressive at the basket.  I use this disc when I need about 300 feet and I absolutely cannot end to the left.  Definitely not a beginner disc, you need a high amount of snap to keep it from just diving to the ground.

This is my go to distance disc! I am currently trying to find a disc from Discmania to replace it and have yet to do so. I actually found mine at the bottom of a pond in Richfield, NC. Every time I throw this disc on a flat line (rhbh), the glide picks it up and carries it about 20-30 feet left and fades maybe 10ft right of center. I highly recommend a seasoned Flick to be in your bag. It simply cant be replaced!

As advertised, this thing is awesome for forehand drives and overhead trouble shots.  It is very reliable once practiced and you know what to expect.  When used for thumbers and hammers, it excels at spiraling and spiking back down and can get you some distance while doing it.

    Holy moly the Flick...

This thing is a relatively small diameter disc, completely flat, with a decent sized rim that is asking to be forehanded. The Flick is designed to handle the torque that a sidearm drive generates without worrying about turning over. That is all well and good, if you have a forehand.

I don't have a good enough forehand to really utilize this disc. Thrown backhanded this thing is a brick that starts hyzering out almost as soon as it leaves your hand. I can hit 325ish consistently and accurately and can get out to 360ish if I really want the distance. That is not enough arm to get the Flick to behave like a driver. With my average arm, the Flick behaves much more like a beefy mid.

Thrown overhand it does rather well, but my elbow and shoulder are cooked from years of pitching and outfield, so that is a very limited and small part of my game.

I've seen people sidearm Flicks with authority and consistency, but I just cannot make it work with that motion yet. Backhanded, the only way I can get distance with it is a on a sharp anhyzer. I could use it as a beefy mid, but I get more utility out of my Trident in that slot.

Good disc at what it does, but I don't think many people have the skill set to let it excel in its designed purpose.

I picked up a flick hoping to gain more distance out of my overhand shots.  I currently bag 2 XXX's.  This disc does fly further, but I find it to be slightly less controllable.  The smaller rim depth makes this a little harder for me to control.  Depending on the course, I still carry the flick in my bag for long overhand shots, but find I reach for my XXX's more often than not.  The Elite z plastic is super durable, and has been able to withstand the beating from overhand throws without any major issues.

Not sure why, it just did not give me a good feeling. When I finally threw the disc, my suspicions were confirmed. Either is is a horrible disc or I do not have enough arm for it. I do believe it is more my arm then the disc. This disc is absolutely not for beginners or backhand.

It may take more time to get used to it but I found alot more luck in Innova discs or the Discraft Nuke SS. There is a reason this disc is on sale... spend the little extra money to get the Nuke. You won't be sorry.

I'm rating the Discraft Flick low because it really only does one thing. I've heard many people call the Flick "Discraft's Firebird" but that's not really the case...the Firebird is much more versatile than the Flick. I would say the discontinued Venom is Discraft's Firebird.

I digress. The Flick is a fairly wide-rimmed, so flat it's often concave, driver that will zip out of your hands and hook up. It's great for power forehands and overhands. Backhands not suggested...even into a headwind. The Flick is mean, so treat it with respect.

The Flick should not be considered a disc for beginners unless they are interested in developing a thumber or tomahawk style throw.

That being said, this disc can do amazing aerial acrobatics when a tomahawk or thumber style throw is used. Once mastered, a big 180 degree spiral is possible.

This is my favorite discs to use with a thumber throw.

I have a 150 class elite z Flick and it has been the best disc I own since I bought it. I use it as both a utility disc and a forehand driver. As a driver, I can find tight windows and really shape any shot I need to because of his reliable the fade is. I also throw it thumber quite a bit. I can throw it high to avoid obstacles, or even downward to play a slip off the ground. It takes some getting used to but I now use this disc several times on every round I play. It is super predictable and all around my favorite disc. Is recommend it to anyone regardless of skill level.

The Flick is a very useful utility disc for curving sharply around obstacles, or throwing hammer-style out of the trees, etc. I've also seen it used very effectively for hyzer-bombs to fly high, over the tops of trees. It is very flat and has a sharp edge, so it flies very fast. Don't expect any kind of a glide out of a Flick-- it will only go as far as you have the arm to throw it. One time my son threw an impressive hyzer-bomb over some tall trees and the Flick came down so fast that it actually embedded itseslf into a tree stump like an axe blade. So, don't go throwing this thing blindly near a group of people, because I imagine it would hurt if it made contact. It's a fun disc, for very specific purposes. You won't use it a lot, but when you do, you'll enjoy it if you've got the skill to make it dance.

This a very usefull utility disc. It has got me out of so much trouble. You can skip it or roll it out of anything!

The Flick is a utility disc. Very good for unusual shots around hazards or severe hyzers into headwinds. Extremely fast. IMO much faster than the advertised speed 9. Very thin profile.

Everyone should carry a Flick in their bag. Its massive overstability and lack of glide make it a consistent flier. It's not at all bothered by wind and can be thrown a ton of different ways effectively in many different situations.

Top marks for the Flick though. With a little practice it can easily become the most precise disc in the bag. This thing won't ever be confused with a max distance driver. It's far too overstable and lacks the necessary glide.

Just do it, go ahead take your thumbnail and scratch away the line separating L from I. Why? Because, this disc doesn't give a flying...(radio edit).

This disc is SUPER overstable. This thing is overstable like it is it's job. That of which it does very well. This disc had proved best to me for rollers, thumbers/thomahawks, and forehands. If you are bad at forhands this thing will correct it for you with a sick S flight.

This disc has a time and place to be used. It will be there in your bag when you need it and will do the same thing everytime. This disc has serious ATTITUDE!

....I am all jacked up on Surge right now, my apologies

This disc is the one that helped me learn and shape my forearm shot. Still carry it two years later for that overstable factor. It does the same every throw.

My review for the Flick is incomplete.  I used to have a lightweight 150g version, which I could tank down the fairway with a very predictable flight pattern... slight turn, and a strong fade.  1 day the strong fade carried right into some thick underbrush and she was never seen again.  I replaced it with a 167g version, and the thing is a menace.  The 150g was my best driver, the 167g I'll get about 250' and then a nose-dive fade, making it little more than a utility disc (which I no longer carry, as of this review).  I have a relatively strong arm, so this flight pattern is perplexing... I don't have the issue with any other disc I own.

I have a 153 gram Elite Z flick (and had a similar one before this).  This disc is incredibly overstable for such a light disc.  I can throw it full power on a forehand and it will not turn at all and then dive strongly to the right (RHFH) at the end of its flight.  I can't throw it very far compared to some of my less overstable discs, but it has a flight I can count on and one which none of my other discs can easily replicate.  I use it shorter shots where I need to be sure the disc won't drift left and I need a strong finish.  I also use it for forehand approaches on occasion.  Its use as a backhand disc is very limited for me as it is too overstable for me to throw ver far.

Its a good disc. It seems a bit too overstable to be useful to me yet, but I'm sure its great for experienced players. For me, a disc like with this much stability needs to have higher speed.

Use my flick for all forehand drives and even some approach shots. Always have at least 3 in the bag.

The Flick has two main purposes for me.

    1. I pull out the Flick for those dogleg shots for about 200 - 250 feet out. Any further is too far for me (that's when I pull out the Stiletto for my super-overstable long distance needs).
    2. Approach shots where the target is blocked. This disc has an incredibly reliable fade which is actually easier to throw, than a straight shot. Once you learn the fade, it's money every time. It's not a fast disc, and I'm not a fast thrower, so ever getting this disc to fly straight will never happen for me.  I actually have yet to see somebody throw a Flick on a lazer beam, "frozen rope" line, but I've heard that they do exist.

Yes, this disc has a place in my bag, but it doesn't come out often... I usually pull out the Stiletto instead of the Flick.

This is a solid overstable driver, similar to a firebird. Works well on power forehands or hard meathooks. It is actually a little too overstable though, as it fades out when you feel like it should have gone farther.

Very stable disc; incredibly flat. The disc itself is incredibly shallow and cuts the air like a knife. Big arms will appreciate it's stability in head winds and hyzer bombs. Smaller arms may find use for it in predictable tomahawk and thumber overhead throws. The Z plastic can take the beating given out by overhead throws. Available in 150 class for those who want more distance on overhead throws.

The Flick is my disc for shots that need to travel in an L Shape. I've made some great birdies thanks to its super overstableness. This is my very overstable disc of choice and is one that I can count on to not turn over on me on my forehand drives. This is my most valuable disc, and the one that I can't live without. While I rotate through discs all the time, I've consistently had a Flick in my bag for longer than any other disc.

This disc will always have a spot in my bag! When you need to get around a corner (dogleg), this is the disc. This disc has more skip than any other disc I have thrown. Throw it backhand, forehand and watch it take a predicatable turn with a beautiful skip at the end! This is great for advanced players, but I would not reccomend for beginners.
