Short version: it's consistently overstable both backhand and forehand without being a total meathook.

Full version: Plasma plastic is nice as usual, and the disc is reasonably comfortable in hand.  I will note that this disc is FLAT.  Super flat and thus easy to grip for forehand throws, which is good, because I was hoping for a midrange overstable enough that I can throw it forehand without it turning over much.  It succeeds at this, as well as being a nice reliable backhand disc.  Throw it softly, you're going to get an arc.  Throw it harder, it'll give you some nice straight flight before aggresssively fading.  You can throw it anhyzer, and it'll consistently flip back over to fade like normal.  It also handles headwinds nicely.

Numbers-wise, I think the factory-given ones are close enough.  I'd say it's not quite a 4 in glide: my buzzz is a 4 glide with the same speed and stays in the air longer, but not by enough for me to put up a fuss over.  Similarly, I'd say it's fade is probably a 3 instead of a 2.5; but when you're arguing over half points, you have to wonder if it's really worth it.

Nice disc.  It's staying in my bag.

Overstable mid that wants to get to the ground. Really like this disc for forehands. Fairly large bead but I like the feel

This mold might have some strange inconsistencies because mine is insanely overstable. I wanted this disc because I was looking for something to fit between my Matrix and my Deflector, but my Pyro flies exactly the same as the Deflector. It starts to dump as soon as it leaves my hand and loves a forehand flex. That's all well and good, but I don't need another super OS utility disc. The Deflector beats the Pyro for me because it feels a bit thinner in the hand. The extra depth on the Pyro gives me a little difficulty with clean BH releases. Thankfully, I picked up a Runway that is sitting very nicely in the slot that I had intended for the Pyro.

My all-time favorite overstable midrange. It does exactly what I need it to do every single time. It is super torque resistant which is important for me because I often yank my shots off to the right and it always stables out and comes back. It basically finishes 250 feet out with reliable fade every time and it is my choice for anything around that range either right or left because it is great for FH or BH. If you are looking for a reliable overstable mid, this is the one. Also it is absolutely gorgeous in Prism Plasma plastic and feels great in the hand.

Man do I love my Pyro. It is STABLE. I can throw it like a typical mid in any wind conditions and I know it will always fade back. It is super comfortable for both backhand and forehand. It is also a surprisingly great forehand roller disc. If you are looking for that overstable midrange slot this is the disc for you.

I love my Zone, and wanted to find something with that same reliable feel - but with a bit more distance. A hefty Zone throw for me is about 250 BH and 220 FH. After trying the Pyro, Rat, Pursuit and Runway it was clear that the Pyro was my favorite. A strong BH thrown flat would continue flat for most of the flight and then do its predictable fade at the end. The Pyro had more glide than the others and I was throwing it about 30 feet longer on average (290). Solid, reliable distance – check.

But how does it feel? Fantastic. The Prism Plasma is one of my favorite plastics, especially for grip. The edge is not at all like the blunt nose of the Zone, and definitely has that midrange nose, but it’s very comfortable. And FH grip is wonderful too – check.

And it’s versatile. I also use it for nice big hyzers where a fairway or distance driver is too much. Multi-functional – check.

    Bag it!

The best midrange in the game!!!  I have always struggled to throw mids.  They always turned to much or just didn't get me the distance I needed.  This disc changed the game I can rip this disc on a flat to slight hyzer line and it stands up straight with a very predictable forward finishing fade.  If you want a disc you can count on inside 300 this is the one!

The Pyro is a really nice workhorse midrange that I've found works really well for both backhand and forehand throws. Backhand I see a hint of turn and a steady fade that makes it predictable and easy to guide on a lot of lines, and wind doesn't bother the flight all that much either. If you a lower power player this could be a great wind disc or overstable forehand mid for you, and if your arm is a bit bigger you might see some of the great turn to fade lines or flexy forehands that I have been enjoying so much with it. Possibly the most similar disc in fight that I have thrown is the Westside Bard. They are both overstable, but with good enough glide to be very useful as a main mid. It is not quite as overstable as a Deflector or Justice, but 80% of players could use it in the same slot.

I found a Prism Plasma Pyro in the woods with no contact information and added it to my bag. It flies, to me, more overstable than a Discraft Zone. I like the feel of it and am excited to throw it more.

This is a very flat disc with nice smooth curves that don't cut into the hand. It doesn't have a bead technically, but it does have that Roc type ramp in case you don't like that kind of thing. I will say, it's not quite what I was looking for but it's fairly good. It's overstable, but not crazily so. It has a bit more glide than I like for an overstable mid. This makes it not so good for headwinds despite it's overstability. I've thrown this on flex lines in headwinds and it wasn't even class to coming back.
