I have the Gatekeeper in 5 different plastics, each of which I'll elaborate on below. Overall, the Gatekeeper has replaced every other mid in my bag except a Justice. In premium plastics, the mold has excellent torque resistance and stands up to power very well. Huge glide makes for huge distance from a 4 speed. Stays so darn straight right until the end of flight. True workhorse, point and shoot mid.

    1) VIP/Tournament: fairly true to flight numbers. Probably a little less than 2 fade, and a pinch of turn when you rip it flat. Super reliable and predictable. VIP has just a tad more stability and fade.

    2) VIP-X/Tournament-X: pretty close analog to a stock run verdict. Flat profile, and while plastic is a bit stiffer it maintains excellent grip. Tournament-X has a tad more stability/fade than the VIP-X but generally pretty similar to one another. Very predictable.

    3) BT Hybrid: starts out with similar stability to the stock Tournament plastic, but doesn't take long to end up more like a -1/1 type of flight. Very flat profile, just like the X plastics. Big time glide. More sensitive to overpowering it simply due to the lower stability as it breaks in.

Amongst the plastics you can cover pretty much the whole gamut of stabilities for your mid range game, save for extremely overstable (e.g justice) or extremely understable, if that's your kinda jam. Overall just a fantastic mid range mold.

Nice feeling slower mid-range. Almost feels like a buzzz with more dome. The VIP plastic is great too. Good grip but nice and durable. My only issue with this disc is that it has a bit too much glide, or not enough fade. It is hard to get it to sit accurately in my experience. Personally I am a bigger fan of the Warship, but if the Warship is a bit too fast or stable for you, this is a good alternative

I bought this disc because my Moonshine Truth got too flippy. It feels VERY close to the Truth in the hand and flies similar. The only difference is my old Truth has a very small bead. The Gatekeeper does not. Super pumped I got one and it is not leaving my bag anytime soon.

The Gatekeeper is a great choice for a classic midrange! Comfortable beadless feel with a medium height and lots of versatility. It can handle a lot of power or good for shorter shots.

This has been my go to mid for the last several months.  It has a lot of glide and will hold any line you put it on.  Lately I have been missing my spots with it I think its more to do with the consistency of my form than the disc.  If your looking for a utility mid give it a try I was happy I did but Im still looking for that perfect mid.

I'm think I might love the Gatekeeper...

For quite some time I have thrown DX/KC Rocs as my primary mid range. I also liked the grip of baseline but feared the results of a full power drive into a tree. This has always caused me to dabble with other mids in premium plastic.

In short: the Gatekeeper flies a lot like a premium plastic KC Roc. It doesn't feel identical to a Roc (no bead) but the depth and top share similarities.

The Gatekeepr will hold whatever line you put it on with a gradual pull back to hyzer. Great for placement shots that faster mids (Truth, Buzz, Etc) might be too fast for.

My Gatekeeper is in VIP plastic so I would like to try one in SE as they are rumored to be less stable. I could see the Gatekeeper pairing with the Gila as my only mids.

This disc is a wonderful addition in my bag. I am a Trilogy and Discraft thrower and saw this at a Play it Again Sports right around the time of its release. I took a chance and bought it and I am so glad I did, even though I don't throw many midranges. This disc holds any line you put it on and holds up to power really well. I can probably get this disc as far as I can get some of my drivers if it is in open space because of the insane glide on it. Highly recommended! Plus, when it is seasoned, it can fill a workhorse midrange slot in your bag. Striaght shots, hyzer shots, anny flexes, this disc has it all!

The Gatekeeper is absolutely the best Mid Range I have thrown by Westside Discs. Not too flippy, and at the same time, not too overstable. It has an outstanding amount of glide and could be used for nearly every shot you need to shape. If you throw it hard with some anny, it is definitely going to turn for you and finish fairly straight. If you throw it hard and flat, it will pretty much just fly in a straight line exactly where you released it. Thrown softly or with some Hyzer, this thing will definitely get a decent amount of fade for you. I would love to try out a well seasoned Gatekeeper and see what kind of lines I could get out of it. In my opinion, this is definitely the Buzzz of the Trilogy lineup as far as flights go. The feel of this disc in the hand is also outstanding and the one my crew reviewed had a nice flat top, which I love in a mid. One of the better Mids I have thrown for sure! This one could definitely find a slot in my bag. If you want to see this disc being thrown on video, check out my crew throwing it in the video below.

The Gatekeeper is the closest flight to the original Truth that Trilogy makes. Tons of glide with a small fade at the end of flight. I can handle a moderate wind as well. What an incredible disc. I actually was reaching for this more than my Buzzz, so I took the Buzzz out. I recommend this to everyone.

The Gatekeeper is a surprisingly versatile disc. This disc can be the secret weapon in your bag that can do everything. When thrown hard and flat it flies straight with a slight fade at the end, with an anhyzer release it will hold that angle for a while then slowly fight back to a flat landing, and with a hyzer it will push forward while holding that angle through the flight. Being a slower disc it is very easy to control and trust on any shot you might face. The Gatekeeper is a disc everyone should try.

True to the flight numbers. It feels good in the hand with the concave rim. I've been trying a lot of discs lately and tend to prefer the more flat or rounded convex rim.  I bagged this for about ten rounds but ultimately took it out as I preferred throwing an Envy or a Chariot for these shots. Great disc though.

I was pretty excited to add this disc to my bag.  I can get a lot of distance out of this disc and it seems to handle a fair amount of torque when driving.  This disc is rated as a 4 but with a 5 glide it goes further than a Harp with less turn and almost always outdrives my Emac Truth.  More of a driver than a putter this disc seems to be stable enough but not so overstable that you are left with a meathook when put on a steeper angle.  This disc is a favorite at the moment and I won't be taking it out of the bag anytime soon.  PS: the new colorways are HOT!

I took the Gatekeeper out for a spin on my neighborhood disc golf course and fell in love. This is exactly the kind of mid-range that I love for my personal style of play. I tend to throw my mid-range discs with more speed than I generally should, so I prefer mids that can handle the torque hold the line. I can put some heat on the Gatekeeper and it slices through the air, right on target, flying a straight path until the very end when it makes its final fade to the overstable side. If I keep it nice and low I can get it to finish before the fade for a precision straight shot. If I throw it higher, I can get a solid hyzer fade on top of my target. This is not another of the massively overstable mids that seemed to flood the market in 2018. It is overstable enough to handle power and stay on target without forcing a premature fade.

I would say that this disc would still be workable for newer players. It is not extremely overstable and it is comfortable to throw. I really liked this one.
