The VIP?X-Out?Gatekeeper gives you the mold and plastic of the VIP version, but at a value price due to minor cosmetic imperfections. It retains the firm rim feel, straight flight path and predictable fade of the higher-priced version—great for serious use without paying full premium.

My Gatekeeper is so much more understable than what I expected. I love my Champion Roc+, which has the same numbers, but decided to give the Gatekeeper a try because it's beadless. Besides the bead, the discs feel very similar; with the same throws, however, the Roc+ is substantially more stable than the Gatekeeper. When thrown flat at about 75% power, I get about 280 ft with the Roc+ and no turn, and with the same throw with the Gatekeeper I get about 280 ft as well, but 30 ft to the right of the Roc+. The disc flips up and turns effortlessly, which is not quite what I expected or hoped for.

That said, I don't dislike the disc. It feels great in hand and the VIP plastic is really nice. Once I recalibrated the release angle to get it to fly straight, it flew about how the numbers would suggest. I just wish it would do that when thrown flat or very slight hyzer.
