I got to throw the Special Edition Gatekeeper. I like the amount of grippiness the plastic has. To me it feels exactly like Star plastic, which is what I like for drivers. For mids I prefer Champion, but I was okay with the Special Edition. As for the flight, I expected the straight line, but was surprised at the distance I got before the fade kicks in. My normal mid is a glow Roc3 and the Gatekeeper gave me a little more distance before the reliable left turn. It was solid into a slight headwind, not turning at all.

I tested the Special Edition Gatekeeper, with it's grippier plastic and slightly more understability. It was fantastic! There was a slight headwind, which did nothing to the flight of the disc. It held a straight line for nearly all of the flight, then finished with a mild fade left. Very straight flying, very comfortable in my hand, excellent flight characteristics. Great disc. If I replace my Roc3, and don't go with a Ra, I could easily bag a Special Edition Gatekeeper. I don't know if the other plastics would fly as good as SE, but since I like the feel of it, I can just stick with the SE plastic and the perfect (for me) flight.

This disc flies great for a beginner arm. This is probably my most consistent flying disc, whether I release it perfectly or not. In Special Edition plastic it is a touch more understable. Reliable glide gives it surprising distance. The plastic feel is very similar to Westside Tournament plastic, maybe a little bit harder and less grippy. I could see this being a good first disc, as it will work for mid-range distance as well as straighter approach shots.

I was throwing the Speciel Edition today- which is said to be a little more understable, so take that into account.

When I through this disc it flew exactly as the flight numbers said it would-- straight with a good little fade at the end. It's not a dump truck, but just that good fade you get out of discs at the end of flight. I'd say a highlight is how it resists flipping over. I can throw it pretty hard and it still holds straight without flipping way over.

The plastic feels great, the perfect balance between grippy and too slick.

I feel like there's a lot of mids of this caliber, though, so I'm not sure it'll kick the "Ra" out of the bag for me. I feel like this is one that you feel and if you like it in the hand, it'll be that perfect mid for you.

It flies for me like a beat-in Emac Truth. I assume it may get a little more turn/less fade as it beats in, which will fit nicely in my bag.
