The Discmania Method is the second release in the Discmania Evolution line manufactured by Latitude 64, and the first midrange disc.

The Method is a workhorse, beaded, overstable midrange disc. Coming in at 5, 5, 0, 3, the Method will hold up to your power and finish with reliable fade. With it's high glide, it'll carry itself down the fairway with any flex shots before coming out in the end.

After getting his hands on it, Simon Lizotte simply stated, “This is the best midrange I’ve tried.”

Not as overstable as advertised, which keeps the rating down, othervise a nice straight flier. It has some turn so I have to toss this quite high to get it fo fade.

I was very skeptical of the Method because of the rim. Straight out of the box the method is a glidey and overstable midrange, which is super important in the bag! As you beat it in it becomes a straight flying midrange with a consistent finish at the end, which is even more important! Basically now I'm forced to have a beat in and new one at all times....

The Method in the Neo and Forge continues to be my go to overstable midrange. The Method handles torque well and finishes hard.  Feels great and comes out clean, I'm primarily a roc thrower so I love the small bead.

Underrated disc imo. I don't like beaded mids, but I came to really enjoy this disc after not liking it for a long time. This review is for Neo, but Vapor plastic feels and flies the best for me. After my MD3 became a bit too touchy, I pulled this Method back out and loved it. I still have to be careful on a forehand to not turn it over, but it's much more resistant than some other mids and it has a nice reliable finish. I prefer the stability over the Emac Truth or the Trust, but it's a little less stable than a Buzzz OS for me and will fly flat for longer.

This is my new go to overstable midrange when I need control and it to hook up on the end. I actually have this in the vapor plastic which is beautiful. It has a decent bead on it with a relatively flat flight plate, making it great for backhand and sidearm throws. If you're looking something with a decent amount of fade, but not a total meat hook...check this thing out.

This disc flies like a beat in Roc3 Out of the box. I can trust this thing and it is very consistent. Have it in neo and the special edition mystery box plastic and have loved it in both.

I think the Method deserves more credit than what it get's. This mid-range is a beast and will go exactly where you want it to go with an incredible reliable fade finish. I have owned this disc for 2.5 years and it still flies like it did out of the box.

It will hold straighter now, but it will still fade left at the end. I can get this anywhere from 250' - 280' without throwing too hard, and it will fight any head wind.

Feels great in the hand, and it will not turnover when thrown with power.

I do have yet to figure out how to throw it on a forehand, but my forehand throws are terrible right now. It will come with practice.

Maybe the most underrated disc in the Discmania lineup.  The Method is money for long stable midrange flights of 280-330'.  Great compliment to the Buzz with more stability for me.  Not beginner friendly.

This disc is beaded with zero wing flashing in either plastic. A flat top and bottom marry a shallow grip. It offers give/grip that makes release comfortable and pain free. The plastic choices happen to be perfect for alternating between. Simple and effective. I don't see more plastic types benefiting this line.

My midranges include 4 methods, a drone, and a zone. I have two exo and two neo one of each beat into, the other fairly new. Run up versus standstill with changes in fan or power grip form a perfect spectrum for all directions. Midrange is the most dominate aspect of my driving game. I can't wait for them all to break into another step so I can add two more. At 350' power they go dead straight and live on a spectrum beneath that. The exo breaks into a grippy flippy monster of choices rather early. My year old and rode hard neo flies like a brand new exo. I get all of them to at least 320' with a run up and around 280' with a standstill. I like that they DON'T hold an angle. They flip and fade in small degrees of difference. The opposite of a buzzz. They go further than Roc3s and don't flip over when brand new on full sends. I feel like they would be problematic for people living at the pro end of distance due to the smaller threshold of torque resistance. I trust nothing more than this disc in a tunnel. My collection of midranges are completely retired. The method is my favorite disc of all time. I am so happy it was one of the few available molds during the pandemic. I feel like a I struck gold.

After reading the reviews, i must have gotten an older run in the Neo plastic, because my Method is reliably OS so far.I use it only when i need a hard fade at the end of the flight. Usually only use for specialty approach shots.

I got this in the NEO Plastic, and I was very much surprised by the understability of this disc. After a few tosses in my yard I thought this would be comparable to the flight numbers, but flew more like a Buzzz with less glide. The numbers I would give this would be 5 4 -1 2

This disc is a very good disc that is able to be quite trustworthy with it's overstability. Don't say it is best for throwers with less power but must say people who like Innova Rocs must like this too. The plastic is a little less grippy which can be annoying when playing

The flight numbers on this disc may have been somewhat accurate for the first few rounds but after playing 4-5 rounds with it, it is not an over stable disc. There is definitely some turn to it and do not rely on this disc to not turn over when thrown into a headwind. 4 stars for the great neo plastic feel and I still love to throw it, just the flight numbers are not accurate.

I recently picked up this disc the other day and played a rounds in the woods today. Well, the numbers on this disc are extremely incorrect, or misleading. Stamped as a 5/5/0/3 this thing should have a beefy fade...nope. For me this disc has a good amount of turn, and flies very straight. It has a slight fade at the end. But nothing even close to a three rating.  I tested it on several different lines that this disc should have faded hard on and she either flew straight or flipped up flat and begun a nice slow anhyzer turn all the way to the ground. My disc is Neo plastic at 174g.  If I need this type of flight it'd be great, but, unfortunately I don't need this and it will ride the bench in the closet of misfit discs...

Three star rating for incorrect rating only. As to the feel, it's outstanding! Very grippy, and comfortable in my hand.

This has become my go to controllable overstable mid. It has a good healthy fade when thrown flat and stays straight before the fade. If I give it a strong amount of anny it will hold most of the flight and then flex out and come back near the end. I use this disc for a variety of shots, it reminds me of the older flat run verdicts. Feels great in the hand with a lower or fan grip. Would recommended to more intermediate players who can work an overstable disc.

I went back and forth to this mid, but came back to it for most of my straighter, longer midrange shots.  Of course its similar to a buzz and a mako3, but i like the plastic a bit better and i just feel more comfortable in hand. I think there are a lot of great mids out there, but this one works, the plastic is quality, and easy to find. I've had the exo hard too, but i like the neo plastic a bit better

The Method is NUTS. Think Roc3, but turn the glide up to the moon. I can't be sure whether it is just my disc, if its a certain run, or if it comes standard. But the Methods has a ton of glide. It makes it hard to throw it as a midrange. It lacks the fall-out-of-the-sky properties you need. I honestly use it for long turnovers or tunnel drives. Its bagged, but not what for it was originally intended to do.

I carry both the exo hard and the neo in my bag. The exo beat in very quickly and became a stable to under stable disc for me. The neo has been a reliable overstable mid with a skip finish. both have a lot of glide which is great. anyone deciding on which plastic I would recommend getting both for your bag. just like any other plastic blend differences they will react different as they wear in.  these are my favorite long range mids.

Basically flies like a midrange should, plenty of glide and a bit fast. Latitude plastic is clean, pretty, and grippy. The two options for plastic are very compatible. In base plastic it beats in quick and you can have a nice turnover within a few games. Each I have thrown is perfect at the start and beat in as expected. Try one in base and if you like it grab the neo. The neo will beat in to a mako3 like flight after a season and you can start to beat in another new one. Great beaded mid. Better than a Malta or roc3. Right between them in stability. If you dislike the innova plastic offered by discmania, than this is the mid for you. I have three and the oldest flies like a fuse, than a mako3, than a roc3. The difference being that three brand new roc3 will be wildly different.

The best part is the availability of this disc. Always in stock so I am about to buy 3 more.

Forehands, backhands, drives, approaches. Solid mid range. I currently only bag this and drones.

This review is for the Neo plastic Method. As I mention in my review of the Exo Hard version, I really like the mold and the way it feels, but wanted to try it in a sturdier plastic. The Neo plastic is exactly that, sturdier.  The top is a little less flat than the Exo Hard version but the flight is about the same on both, although the Neo plastic can also handle a FH whereas the exo hard did not agree with my FH at all. The stronger plastic makes me feel a little more secure about it retaining its flight numbers for longer but I would say that neither of these discs is a 3 fade.  I would say they are straight to stable, not overstable. The glide is really where the problem is for me. I wasn't looking for my general purpose midrange, I was looking for a headwind mid and this is not it. The glide makes it turn over in a headwind and not really come back. It is very reliable in calm conditions though, I just tend to reach for a Buzzz already in those situations. I could easily see this being someone's favorite general midrange and I'll keep mine around in case I feel that way in the future but I've decided to seek out something flatter and less glidey for the OS mid slot.

Beaded, nice feel. Overstable, doesn´t take forehand wobble very well so not the best for that (at least for me). Doesn´t flip really, you can power this thing and count on it finishing left RHBH.

This disc is great. I have friends who throw it well forehand, but I love it for backhand. Unlike the numbers suggest, this thing goes straight forever. I usually push it to around 330 straight and then see a small fade left. I think this disc will pair perfectly with the under stability of the Origin they recently released so I am very happy having this in my bag.

I used to bag a Roc3 as my go to mid-rang, but not anymore thanks to the Neo Method. To me at least, I can tell that the disc has a little bit more glide than the Roc3 and that was the deciding factor. I can throw this disc as hard as I want to and keep it on a nice flat line with great fade at the end. I also use it as my disc for shaping shots. For example I can put it on an angle where the disc is going to turn, but because of that 3 fade a know it's always going to come back and finish hard. Overall I would highly recommend this disc to upper level intermediate players and up.

If you are looking for an overstable midrange, look no further. While this disc is comparable to the ever popular Roc3, I have found more success throwing this disc and I think its due to one main component: confidence. I have this disc at 177 grams and I know I can hit a gap with this disc and I know how the disc will react to my power. This disc has a lot of glide for an overstable disc, which makes it very handy for me because I can throw it flat and know it will bite of some distance before fading fairly hard. This is also an excellent midrange for flick shots. This disc holds a hyzer very consistently. An anhzyer shot will always get me great results as well because I know it will fight out of the turn and finish overstable. Also, the neo plastic feels so dang good in the hand, which may be why I prefer this disc to other overtstable midranges. I am using this more and more as a complement to the new Neo Origin that I bag and I am beginning to wonder if I even need another midrange in the bag besides those two. Anyway, I recommend this disc to anyone and believe it can truly knock off a few strokes to any round if used correctly. Grab this if you don't have it already.

The Method is my favorite stable/overstable mid range. It instantly took the mid spot in my bag over the Roc3, M1, M3, Anchor, Compass. The best thing I can say about the Method is that it is consistent. After throwing it in the field for one day I was confident to put it on any line and know how it would react. I can throw it out on hyzer with power and I know it will not flip on me. I also like to throw it 75% with a slight anhyzer to get 300'-350' with a gentle S flight that lands soft. I have it in forge plastic as well and really haven't noticed any difference in stability or consistency.

The method is the far flying stable mid range that your bag is missing. The method is a very straight flyer at full power and has the stability to withstand a bit of extra tork and a hyzer without flipping over. In the hand if feels similar to a rocx3 but the flight is faster and is less likely to turn over on you. When released on a hyzer this disc will flip to flat and finish with a predictable fade making this a great disc for placement shots on par 4's or tricky par 3's where you just want to get to an easy landing zone. The neo plastic is great and durable but can be a bit slippery when wet so make sure to have a towel or rag with you to keep it dry. Like I said before this really is a far flying mid range. A lot of other mid range molds drop far short of where I can place this in the middle of a long fairway.

I was trying to find a replacement for my lost Bard an bought a Method, which I had heard a lot of good about. Unfortunately this disc was a dissapointment for me. I was hoping for a reliable overstable mid with some glide, but I got something as unpredictable as a distance driver that doesn't go as far as a driver. It definetly has some turn and also a moderate fade. I doesn't feel very comfortable in my hand and for some reason I can't get a good release with it when I throw a sidearm - and I like sidearm upshots more than backhand upshots. Maybe for someone else this disc has a good use but what I'm looking for from a midrange is a good controllable straight line or predictability - this disc gives me an S-curve.

I currently bag three midranges: Lat 64 Fuse (understable), Buzzz (neutral), Method (stable). The method fills the stable midrange slot very well for me. The Neo plastic is beautiful, grippy, and resilient. I can put a good rip on this disc and it will turn somewhat but always fade reliably. Also works great for touch shots where I just need a 50-100 foot hyzer. I like that I don't have to be terribly precise with my release on this disc as long as I give it enough spin it will fade reliably and finish where I expect. This has a touch of turn for me (I rated at -0.5) and a touch less fade for me (I rated a 2.5). I feel this disc would be a good introduction to stable midranges for beginners and an excellent disc for intermediate players.

I was unaware of the method until I won a giveaway on Instagram. Once I go the disc from a friend on instagram who dyes discs, I was starstruck on how the method flew. It was what my bag needed. This disc takes very little effort to throw because of the smoothness that it brings when it comes out of the hand. This disc compares heavily to a Buzz OS and a Verdict. I don't have the best backhand so this disc was helpful for me to get my form down. The rim of the method feels like a Dynamic Discs Lucid plastic rim. This disc also gives you great grip on the forehand shot as well. Overall, the method is a very reliable and easy disc to throw for intermediate level disc golfers.

What the roc3 should have always been.

    Method                                 Roc3

Diameter: 21.9 cm                Diameter 21.7 cm

Height 2.1 cm                       Height 2.0 cm

Rim Depth 1.3 cm                 Rim Depth 1.3 cm

Rim Width 1.3 cm                 Rim Width 1.2 cm

Not only are the dimensions on the two discs extremely close, but they also feel the same to almost being a clone.  They have a similar bead, nose, and concave wing shape.  What sets this apart from the Roc3 though is the stability.  If you have good distance in your game, a Roc3 can fly closer to a -1 turn and 1 or 2 fade.  The method at the same air speed will fly at a 0 turn with a 2 to 2.5 finish.

I would say the higher glide rating here tends to show off as well.  It's not a crazy amount more but it does seem to want to stay in the air a bit longer than the Roc3 before fading out.  Also, the Swedish plastic looks and feels great in the hand.

Essentially, if you are looking for a disc that feels like the Roc3 but is truer to its flight numbers, I would suggest trying out the Method.

    An Underwhelming Midrange

The Method follows a pretty standard flight path. It goes straight for most of the flight with plenty of glide, and then has enough fade at the end to land on an angle. It's pretty comparable to a Roc that throws farther. The thing is, every brand, including Discmania, already have a disc somewhat like this. I just don't see what the Method brings to the table.

I don't bag it because I don't need it, but there's nothing wrong with the disc.

I picked up the Instinct when it came out and loved it so much that I knew I had to pick up a Method. I got one in Neo plastic at 177g and it has quickly become my favorite overstable midrange disc for backhand. The first few times I threw this disc I couldn't believe how effortless it felt to throw some very nice lines. I compared it to a Buzzz OS and a Verdict and I chose the Method in the end because it has better glide- I don't have the strongest backhand so the extra glide is helpful for me but it still has a solid fade at the end of the shot. I also love the feel of the rim and the Neo plastic which feels like a DD Lucid plastic with a little more grip. It has a mild dome and a bead and it is a larger diameter mid. I love it for backhand shots that need to finish left (RHBH). I tried it out for forehand but it does not excel for me in that- it had some late turn and I couldn't get a super clean release for forehand. Overall, I absolutely love this disc but would not recommend it to beginners.

I've tried a lot of midranges and I was a bit skeptical about this disc in the beginning but after reading reviews, I gave it a try. And I'm glad I did. Like the instinct, the neo plastic is amazing and feels great in the hand. I don't know what Discmania is doing differently, but these evolution discs glide so well. The method flies super smoothly and has a nice forward fade. It doesn't turn over and it just keeps going straight until it slowly fades. It is quite similar to a Roc3, yes. But I prefer the Method for sure. Instant spot in my bag.

My absolute favorite midrange, and it always puts a big smile on my face when I walk up to my lie or the tee and I see it's a Method shot. I would recommend this to anyone who's a fan of a Roc3 or Buzzz to see what they could be having in terms of absolute consistency and hand feel

One of the best Rocs out there.

Lets be honest, many many midrange drivers are either in the Roc or Buzzz family. This one falls in the Roc family because it does everything a Roc does, but does it a little better. The feel in the hand is just a little better. It is a tad bit faster, has a bit more glide, a little less high speed turn, and provides the trusty low speed fade. The plastic is also my second favorite in the current market just behind the opaque champ plastic that is provided in a limited number of Innova/Infinite molds.

If you like the Roc, grab the Method. It quickly earned a spot in my bag.

For the last 4 years the verdict has been a staple in my bag and hasn't been in any danger of leaving my bag...until now. I played a few rounds with the method and when I came to a shot where I would normally throw verdict, I would reach for method instead. It doesn't want to turn over, has nice glide, and a reliable fade without being too overstabl. Works very nice on backhand and forehands both. I can definitely see why Simon has said it's the best mid ever made.

Very nice disc, It could definitely fill a lot of slots in someone's bag,for comparison I currently throw:

    Emac Truth

    MD4

    Mvp Deflector

    MD5

This disc currently fills the spot between my Emac Truth and MD4. More over stable than my Emac but less stable than my MD4. I  gave the disc 4 stars,if a half star was an option my rating would be 4.5 out of 5.The disc flies great but not quite as comfortable in the hand as the Emac or the MD4 to me. Also I found it slightly more unpredictable than my MD4 . On a slight hyzer my MD4 flips to flat and predictably goes straight before it finishes left .If I put the method on the same angle it flips to flat and drifts right before it comes back to the left.Good disc for sure, I would recommend to most people unless they were brand new to the game.

The Method is a nice overstable mid. Not super overstable, but enough that it'll always fight out of whatever line you put it on. That being said, it still goes pretty far down the fairway before its fade kicks in. I can see why Simon says it's the best mid ever, it would be perfect for anybody looking for a power mid-range. This thing can handle a hard throw without flipping. The plastic is nice, like a mix between latitude's opto and gold line. The rim feels nice in the hand. It's got a small bead that I do enjoy.

Are Mids cool again?  This disc is cool.  I played my first round against two EMc Truth's in comparison.  Not the same but similar.  I found the Method to carry a line smoothly, and despite gentle release, the disc seemed to glide along nicely.  Putting power on the disc does not make it turn like my Iron Samurai I picked up at the BSF.  I like the bead on the rim, and the rim feels slightly deeper than the Truth.  NEO plastic is good.  I like the even colors of pastel that I have seen.  Seems to fall somewhere between Star and Champ.  I like the embossed stamp on the bottom.  I picked up a 179g at the local store and I await my pink one from Infinite this Saturday.  Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
