The Warship is a versatile, straight-flying midrange driver that can go the distance. This is the only midrange disc currently in the Westside lineup that is fast enough to be classified as a fairway driver. When thrown with power, the Warship has a small degree of high-speed turn followed by minimal low-speed fade.

I first found this disc out in the open and was expecting it to be a crappy one due to my prevous hate for westside discs but after throwing it a few times it has slowly become one of the better midranges in my collection. Throwing this for an approach shot with a little forehand flick or a light backhand and it will soar straight on the line you put it on. I have other discs that do this such as the mako3 but this is different as it doesn't even fade at the end. Multiple times I have gotten far throw ins with this disc and other times it slams into the pole. I like this disc my only slight problem with it is sometimes I cant get a good forehand grip and it messes me up but 95% of the time its fine.

I originally found thid disc on a course in SoCal and took it for a few throws on my way to the drop off box. I was impressed that the disc was so dead straight for me. No turn, no fade, even put on angle it barely took much shape at all. I decided to grab one for myself, and sure enough it treated me just as good from brand new as the beat in one I'd found on the course. So I got another in "orbit" (halo?) because I like to bag two of any favorite of mine, and they're all the same. Straight, simple, no frills, lots of glide. Throw it hyzer or anny and it holds the line, but mildly at best. Definitely my goto for mid range approach shots now. It's going to go exactly where I put it. This has eclipsed my buzz for sure, as I can power down and this disc still goes straight while the buzz thrown at 50% fades out.

I also noted the disc as beginner friendly, but I don't know who this disc isn't for unless you're blasting 150% my arm speed on mid range approach shots... but you do you Hercules!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Warship in Elasto Plastic (not listed as a choice). Being a purveyor of gummy plastics, it quickly became one of my favorite mids. Comparatively to my buddy's Tournament Burst Warship, my Elasto one tends to turn a bit more before stabilizing and gliding out to a fairly dead straight flight.

TL;DR : Great mid, straight flyer, plastic choice can affect early flight characteristics.

This was my first westside disc that got me hooked on the others in their lineup. This is my go-to for tunnel shots under 300ft because of it's amazingly long glide and low fade.

I have this disc in the Elasto plastic (not VIP) and I throw about 270 consitently. I agree with the other reviews that this disc has more turn than advertised. When I throw this disc on anhyzer and give the disc enough height it will fight out of the anhyzer line. The 6 glide number is very true. The rim makes if feel more like a 6 speed than a 5 speed. I'm exicted to see how this compares with MVP's Detour.

Perspective: I get my mids out to 300 feet.

For me this disc is nothing special - just a flippier than advertised midrange. The rim is way too sharp which means that the angle control gets very tricky with it. When I throw a mid I like more control othervise I would reach for a fairway. And Its not very torque resistant, better for backhands than forehands.

stronger players should throw this as a hyzer flip, i got mine in vip plastic which is a bit more stable

The VIP Warship is one of the straightest and furthest flying mids I have ever thrown. It is a fantastic option for hitting tight tunnels or for shots that need to finish straight ahead. The only downsides of this disc to me are that it is pretty domey and it can be heavily affected by wind. I often point beginners towards the warship even though I have personally moved on to other midranges for my bag.

I really like this disc.  I'm still a beginner... well, more of a prodigal son type player, as I used to play back in the early 2000's but hadn't picked up a disc in 16+ years until about 6 weeks ago.  Anyway, for beginner/intermediate skill level players, I think the Warship is fantastic.  It was the first driver that I felt truly comfortable throwing, and I still use it all the time (even after buying 45+ discs, including multiple mid-ranges).  I even got my first ace with it the other day on a 230' hole!

Another poster said he took it out of his bag because it doesn't do anything "special."  That's understandable, but it's always nice to have a reliable disc in your bag.  For me, this is my go-to stable, mid-range.  I'll use it for most straight(ish) shots in the 180-260' range.

RHBH. I can put this disc to nearly 300ft. and my max throw is only 330ft.  I think this is THE best disk for beginners. Often beginner discs break in quickly and become too understable. This disc can take a beating before it begins to wander just a touch to the right, but otherwise it flies like a truly dependable neutral midrange. If you are a beginner who would like to get an extra ~20 feet out of your noodle arm then I strongly advise that you use this disc. It is a good disc for practicing form and getting that extra distance. If you throw slow and smooth, this disc will reward you with wonderful clean, dependable lines.

I just got one of the Origio versions of the Warship and I have to say it's one of the best overall midrange discs for just about any player to bag I've ever seen. You could give this a new player and it be their primary disc, or give it to a long throwing advanced player to use on turnover mid shots as well as straight hyzerflips. I was getting a very stress free 350ft out of the disc with a mild turn and a very late and slow fade. You can hit a lot of lines with this disc and overall I think anyone could use one. Great disc.

The Warship is all right. I don't have one of my own, but I tried out one of the Warships that my dad has, and I liked it. I didn't like it enough to bag one of my own, though. It holds release line and then fades out at the end. It's very fast for a mid-range, so I would recommend throwing it with a fairway-driver power level instead of like a mid. I wouldn't recommend it for the new, lower arm-power players. Anyway, you don't have to take my word for it. Try it out for yourself and see how you like it. I don't much, and my utility mid-range slot is filled anyway. So, try the Warship for yourself, see what you think, and if you like it, bag it if you want to, cause discs fly different for everybody.

This has grown to be a favorite mid-range of mine, out of the dozens I have tried. In spite of the very high speed that it has for a mid-range, it is very versatile. It has very high glide, but also significant fade, which I think makes it unique. It flies almost perfectly straight, but doesn't turn over into the ground, hence it is a reliable mid-range. Another thing I love about it is that it can fly very far when putted with. I would describe it as a faster flying, stable Innova dart.

I bag three of these. They fly straight, predictably, and hold any line I put them on. They hold anhyzer lines very well with minimal fade. My midrange lineup consists of Warships for straight to turnover lines and Kastaplast Kaxes for the stable stuff. I can power this disc down and it still gives me a full flight. My tournament burst Warship is a little domier abd is slightly less stable than the VIP warships in my bag. I would recommend this disc for any armspeed - but especially those who are just starting out and a fairway driver is a little beefy for them.

Had never tried a Warship before, but I got one on a whim and decided to bring it on a trip to a new course to test it out. It preformed well in longer mid duties, and has some serious glide. I have to say that it is fairly easy to give it more poser than it wants and turn it over to the point that it may not fade at all, but on shots in the 280-340 range I really enjoyed the lines I was getting with it.

Almost aced a 290 downhill hole but the chains weren't enough to stop the Warship in it's flight. New players could definitely use this is a workhorse midrange, and more experienced or higher powered players could make this their turnover mid.

I'm not sure that I found it more useful than the Piwakawaka that I usually use in this slot, but it has a chunkier rim that a lot of people seem to like.

I absolutely love the Warship. I only bag VIP Warships, due to their stability. I utilize Warships for turnovers, flex shots, and tight straight wooded shots. The disc is extremely comfortable in my hand, and I know that with just a little power, it will fly far and true. This is a true hyzer-flip midrange that excels at low power shots for controlled throws and easy approaches. Trust this disc to fly point and shoot style. If you need an easy-to-throw midrange that you can trust to go straight and far, or to flex and turnover in the woods, reach for a Westside Warship.

This disc does have some stability in it and that can cause fade if you are not overly strong with throws. It doesn't fade too much, however and feels like a longer buzz when thrown. It is basically a hybrid midrange/fairway driver so you do have to put a little more on it than say a mako/buzz/roc etc... Great for tunnel shots if you can put enough on it as it is a straight flyer and dies straight with enough force. Would be a good transition to fairway driver for a beginner .

I have this disc in 180g. This is my go to for straight longer shots I need to make with a mid. I normally use a roc but this is the perfect finesse disc. It even works well when thrown with a little annie and thread through a wooded area.

This is the furthest flying midrange I have ever thrown. I have a 173g VIP.  I have bagged the Warship for the past 2 years just for those shots that my other midranges can't reach.  So straight and so glidey, with a touch of fade at the end. This disc is so controllable and so accurate. It's definitely not like any other midrange I have ever thrown. In my area, either players love them, or hate they them. Some don't like the diameter of this disc or the slight dome. But those things don't bother me because of the end results I get with this disc. I would rate this disc a 4.5. I didn't give it a 5 because it is not a disc for the wind. If there are windy conditions it pretty much stays in my bag.

The Warship was the first disc I ever tried from Westside Discs, and I really enjoyed it. In the hand it has some dome, but nothing too crazy to make it uncomfortable, and it still felt like a somewhat shallow feel. This thing in flight is beautiful, it just glides through the air without much effort at all. I was able to push this out past 300 feet without even putting full power on it. It is also very workable and responds to the angle you put it on. This is a great disc for beginners and for veteran players alike.

I decided to buy in to the hype behind the Warship.  True to all the other reviewers this is a very long midrange.  It consistently got 30 feet longer than any of my other midranges and about the same distance I get with most of the fairway drivers.  The difference between this and my fairways was the flight and finish.  It goes very straight and finishes with a very mild fade.  I can see this being a go to distance shot in the woods or when a tight shot is needed.
The one thing that I had to get by is the diameter of the Warship.  When I compare it to other molds, it is slightly wider, but not a lot.  But it just seems way bigger when I throw it.
Overall this is a great disc to get a good straight flight and get down the fairway with.

I liked how this disc flew a lot. It really reminds me of the FD without the turn. It has a long straight and glidey flight path witch can be easily be molded to fit just about any line.I did not like the feel of the rim all that much, but i could get past that. The thing i hated the most about this disc is the art work, its like West side stole all the disc images from a 6 year olds viking coloring book. The VIP Warship is a very straight, long midrange. In heavier weights (mine is 177g), it is straight with a little touch of fade late and substantial glide; in lighter weights (I also bag a 173g example), it has a smooth, controlled turn before coming back to straight. Very comfortable to throw for shots at the longer end of midrange range, and very predictable across a wide range of power. This (specifically the heavier one) is one of the most versatile discs in my bag, since it will fly straight, hold a constant hyzer angle, or fly smooth anhyzers.

Just bought a 177g VIP Warship.  It's not great in windy conditions, but in slightly windy or calm conditions this disc is a gem.  It has incredible glide, comparable to a Comet.  It can be turned over, but it shines best as a straight flier with a slight fade at the end.  I can see this disc as a great compliment to my Rocs, Comet and Buzzes.

I'm not a big arm, so the extra glide helps me get more distance.  In some situations that extra glide is a necessity to get you near the pin.

Wow. This thing has glide. As expected from Westide Discs, this thing will keep going. Put it on any line and it will hold it. Nice finish to the left but not a hard dump, just a nice soft fade when thrown straight. Throw it on an anhyzer and it will hold that line most of the way. When thrown on a hyzer it will flip up with enough power, but mainly hold that hyzer line the whole time. Great disc that I've been throwing for about a month and glad I put it in the bag.

One of my top 5 favorite discs.

VIP 178g. This disc is simply amazing. It is a perfect tweener midrange and sneaky long. It has taken away the need for many fairway drivers and flies on any line you put it on. For me, the VIP warship was a game changer and is perfect for hitting tight lines, long open shots, and everything in between. It does take an adjustment period because the glide is unreal and it will definitely fly further then you expect. It's nice to have the consistency of a mid that can reach fairway driver distances. I know that I will be throwing this disc every round that I play and it will be in my bag for a long, long time.

The VIP Warship for me has absolutely great glide.  Personally I use it as my turnover mid that can sneak out to 300' with not much effort.  This disc really shines for dead straight tunnel shots using a fan grip, 200' or so.  I have to slightly hyzer flip it to get it to go straight but it is very dependable.  Not recommended to use in the wind as it is not wind friendly.

The Warship is a straight flyer with just a tiny bit of fade.  I can get the Warship out to near 300 feet on most throws.  This disc loves to float and glide it is very cool to just watch it glide out in the distance.  The Warship is a easy disc to throw and would be good for the beginner/newer player.  I find it is a pretty neutral flying disc it pretty much stays on what ever line you throw it on.  The Warship reminds me a lot of the Discraft Comet.  The Warship is a just a touch more stable than the Comet and for that reason it is more forgiving to throwing errors.  The Warship will get bounced around in the wind so it is not the best mid to throw into a strong headwind.

I've had this disc ever since I was a complete newbie to disc golf.  It has been my most useful disc without a doubt.  When I first started throwing it, I had a very weak arm, so this disc would fly straight with a fair amount of fade towards the end of its flight.  As I have improved my arm strength, (and my disc golf game in general,) this disc has beat in to be a beatifully straight flyer.  As others have mentioned, this disc is great for tight hallways and heavily wooded courses.  I would highly recommend the warship for any bag and any skill level.

I have had this disc for about six months, but it was in and out of my bag until a month ago and now it is a staple. It took me awhile to dial it in, but now I could'nt imagine not having it in the bag. This is a control disc that loves finesse over power. It straddles the mid/ fairway line. On a smooth even pull you will see a small amount of turn at the beginning with a touch of fade at the end, and the glide equals easy distance. I use this disk when I need a tight tunnel shot or a placement shot where there are hazards left and right. Great disc! I would have givin it a 5 star rating if it didnt take awhile to dial this in.

Ohhh the Warship, the Mid that could easily be a fairway. Laser straight, great HSS and even fares pretty well in the wind. VIP offers the most overall fade in regards to flight. It will over time, season into this laser laser straight, elevator down, effortless mid that you will love for seasons to come. A TP out of the box is a even a little straighter than the VIP... It seasons into the same laser beam, just a touch faster, and then into a beautiful controlled turnover/anny mid that you will ALWAYS be able to count on. BT, the rare unicorn has been discontinued, insert sad face, but it laser beam, elevator down straight from day one and quickly seasons into beautiful turnover and tight hyzer flip "s" mid lines. Even tried a BT as a roller and it works. It's a disc that can do just about anything. Amazing. Versatile. Fast. 184 (not typo, it actually scales at 184.4 grams) pink VIP. Absolutely love this disc! Feels like a beadless roc/mace, throws like a longer and more stable/turn resistant claymore. I will get some turn with this disc, but for the most part it goes dead strait and finishes with a slight amount of fade. I find it funny that it flies in a similar way to both the claymore and evidence, but it came out 2 years before either of those discs. It's an underrated, outstandingly strait and comfortable mid range that I really think was ahead of its time; and I think it could and should find its way in anyone who throws trilogy plastic's bag. I only would say it's somewhat beginner friendly as opposed to very beginner friendly because it isn't as understable as what I would think works well for a beginner.

The Warship is definitely my go to right now. It definitely flies true to the numbers, and my god the glideeeee goes on forever. Everything about the flight is smooth. Get a nice stroke on it, and you will see it get up to that 6 speed and then quickly you see that 5 glide kick in. When you think its beginning to power down you will see it glide out another 30-50 feet. If you are reading this, do yourself a favor and pick one of these up.

Have been throwing this disc for over 2 weeks now and I have to say that the one I have is very try to the numbers.  I use this as a mid range/ fairway driver. Great for those straight shots that you need to slice through small gaps in trees with accuracy. One thing i have noticed is when put a lot of spin of the disc it will turn more than you may want. That is why I throw this with a fan grip to help keep that spin down and that gives me the straight flight with a slight fade at the end. Or i can power grip it and get a nice turnover shot. Love the westside VIP plastic

The Warship is kind of like a Midrange/Fairway Driver combo. This is a straight flyer and glides very well. My problem with the disc is that it typically goes too far. When thrown well, it often turns a little and holds the line forever causing me to overshoot the target to the right. In disc golf more distance is usually a good thing, but not when you're trying to approach the target. I love the straight path of the Warship, and with a nice gentle throw this disc goes straight forever. Depending on the course you play, this could be a very useful disc and would be ideal for beginners. However, I'm not able to control it as well as slower midrange discs that aren't going to overglide on me.

I have been playing DG for just about a year now. I bought this disc in pink VIP plastic, 168g. I really love the feel of the VIP plastic. It's translucent and shiny, and looks like Innova's Champion plastic, but to me that is where the comparison ends. It is definitely not as stiff and has a much better grip. The rim of this disc is shallow and not very wide. I almost feel like this disc was custom made to fit my small hands. I can get a really good grip which helps me get a good rip on it for more distance than I get from my other mids that I throw. I have a Tursas, and this disc is a great compliment to my bag. I drive with mids at this point while I am working on technique and accuracy as well as building up arm strength and speed. I can get a pretty consistent accurate drive with both this and the Tursas. This disc has a ton of glide and it's amazing to just watch this thing go. It has less turn than the Tursas, it goes much straighter. It's definitely great for open holes or threading it through a straight wooded tunnel. I can rely on this disc to go where you intend for it to. When given a hyzer angle it responds well with a beautiful curve and a smooth landing. I get flat landings with this disc and very few skips. The more I throw discs from Westside, the more I love them. I would definitely recommend giving them a try! This disc would be great for beginners and advanced throwers alike. I think Westside puts out quality product that is reliable and consistent.

I had the privilege to throw a Warship in VIP plastic a few times, and I have to say it's a fantastic disc. Straight, very little fade, and a ton of glide. This is definitely a disc that can help the average player take off strokes, and I recommend putting it side by side with a Buzzz if you throw one. The Warship may just win you over.

The Warship is a very difficult disc describe. I have one in VIP plastic, which is my prefered westside plastic. This disc is what i would call Glide City. I would throw this thing it would glide for days. The flight path is very straight with a little fade at the end. I found that it has so much glide it would go past the basket on those throws i would usually use a mid for, but it doesn't go as far as a fairway. The glide on this disc made it very difficult for me bc it would just keep on cruising and didn't look like it was going to stop. I wont be bagging mine. Its not bc its a bad disc i just cant find a use for it in my bag. Im not a power thrower but i dont weenie arm it either. If you got a pretty big arm or a not so strong arm and are looking for a good disc with glide then this is right up you're alley.

I've been throwing a 167 VIP Warship the last few outings. First, this disc flies far, almost fairway driver far. Second, this disc flies straight, although it does have a consistent forward fade at the end of its flight. Third, this disc is easy to throw, not too sensitive to nose angle and the like. I haven't really worked on shaping different lines with it, but my impression is this disc can do anything a Buzzz can do; not too shabby. Great mid.

I've said before, if I had to start over while only keeping one disc it would be the Warship. It is an extremely versatile disc! It can be sneaky long with its great glide, but it powers down well, and is a fantastic workhorse mid. VIP plastic is a little more LSS, but not enough to call it an overstable mid. It's something akin to a Buzzz or Core. Super straight, nice HSS, and a clean slight fade at the end. It holds most lines from gentle hyzer to gentle anhyzer, but I'd use a slightly beat Tournament Plastic Warship for better anhyzer lines. In Tournament Plastic, it WILL lose a little HSS as it wears. Even new, it will have the slightest turn if you really crank on it. However even with wear or power it will finish straight. Great dependable disc, very predictable flight and fade, and the best plastic in the industry. You'd really be missing out if you didn't take the chance to try one out!
