The Warship is a versatile, straight-flying midrange driver that can go the distance. This is the only midrange disc currently in the Westside lineup that is fast enough to be classified as a fairway driver. When thrown with power, the Warship has a small degree of high-speed turn followed by minimal low-speed fade.

Warship tounament ice orbit.  [Comparison with ethos PATHFINDER below]

Summary:  I like the disc.  It has good glide.  Much more than a Buzzz for example.  At low power this goes straight and has a 1 fade.  For a more experienced beginner, it will -1 turn and then come back.  It has easier distance than some discs in the same category.

Consider it as an upgraded Buzzz, giving you that -1 1 flight, with better distance.

I was throwing the Warship and the Pathfinder for a week.  I'd throw one after the other, on the same shots.

I found that the Pathfinder tends to go straight, hold that line, and have a more dependable fade.

The Warship is slightly different; while it can do the same lines, when they're thrown with slightly more juice, the Warship will turn and then come back at the end.  So it's much more of a -1 1.

We buy the Warship because we're expecting the advertised 0 1 flight.  For a 0 1, the Pathfinder is more true to that.  However, the Warship is definitely a good upgrade to the Buzzz, and what I think they'd gain to position this disc as.  Compared to a Buzzz, it shines.  Compared to the Pathfinder, which is what I needed, I chose the latter (as I needed a replacement and upgrade to the Shark that I gave away).

Numbers, and why I chose them:  I'm not giving it a 6 glide rating, because I own a 4 speed Pteranodon, rated at 6 glide, that easily goes just as far, and the Pathfinder, rated at 5 glide, that goes just as far despite a more dependable fade.  And the Warship turns then fades.  With it's rim width (5speed), experienced glide, turn and fade, this is a solid 5 5 -1 1 .

I have a lot of good to say about the Warship. This thing goes FAR for a mid-range. I was throwing it out past my Emac Truth and Trust and those are no slouches. The other reason this disc makes my bag though is because of the gradual consistent fade you get out of it. It doesn't travel straight for a long ways and then fade. It just has this perfect slow arc the whole way through it's flight. That geometric shape will really help you park a lot of ~300 foot holes at your local course.

The bad? I really want a better plastic for it. I'm not a fan of Westsides plastics. Hopefully they will inherit the Royal plastic like DD has (called Supreme) and this gets released in that plastic. Then it will pretty much be my perfect mid.

Great disc for someone just starting out or experienced pros. Has excellent glide and holds any line you put it on. Once you beat one in it becomes a great hyzer flip disc for those tough wooded holes.

The great thing about the Warship is that it's truly "laser straight," or at least it has been for me in Tournament plastic, with no real fade to speak of. It definitely fades much less than my Buzzz, which actually frustrated me at first. I'd expect it to move a tiny bit off some tree in the distance, and instead it would just tightrope directly into it 175 feet later. Now it's my go-to mid for shots that have to be uncomfortably straight, as well as for milder, longer turnovers than my Piwakawaka can handle. As many others have pointed out, the Warship has tons of easy glide. It's a really good disc for the woods.

For anyone else searching for a hybrid-type disc, I bought a Kaxe Z at the same time and ended up bagging both since they're so different. The Kaxe is more stable and feels closer to a fairway driver, while the Warship feels more like a mid. Similar distance on both, and a helpful bump up from my slower mids!

This review will be for the 180g Origio Burst Westside Warship.

I purchased this disc as my first mid-range, and it served me very well.  Out of the box it was pretty stable, but it quickly became understable as I beat it in, which made it very manageable as a beginner.  Getting used to an understable mid transferred really well into using the ESP Buzzz.

Highly reccomend for beginners looking to get used to throwing mids.

Look, others have said it, I'm just here to second it. This disc just will not sit down. They should have named this disc the Locomotive or Iron Horse, because it just wants to fly straight and level. Somehow, even with the high glide, it still holds its path in mild wind.

The main issue you will have with this disc is it will glide 15ft farther than you expect it to. I've thrown this disc into underbrush and spent 10 minutes looking for it just to realize it plowed right through to the other side; just sitting in the open, on the nicely mowed fairway.

If you want a disc you can shape shots with, than pass this one by. If you want a disc that will just go strait and level even if you have unreliable releases, than pick one of these up in a high weight. It's unlike any other mid-range I've thrown.

This is a laser straight driving mid for me for shots at to under about 250ft. If you torque it you may find some turn, but if your backhand release is smooth, it'll fly perfectly straight for as far as your arm can send it.  There is only the smallest of forward pushing fade at the end. It's a disc that I end up throwing more than some fairways due to its easy finish and super predictable fade.

At first glance, the Warship looks like nothing special. Neutral numbers, a fairly standard-looking flight path, nothing that would set it apart from the hordes of Truths, Buzzzes, and Mako3s that hold the "straight-flying midrange" spot in most peoples' bags. However, the Warship has a special ability that sets it apart from the rest of the pack.

Like a disobedient dog, it absolutely will not sit down.

The first time I threw my friend's Warship, I expected nothing special, but my mind was changed by the time the Warship finally gently settled to the ground some 325 feet from where I had tossed it. Once the Warship leaves your hand, it will fly far beyond the limits of what you expect and then another twenty feet for good measure. On a 75% throw with just the tiniest bit of hyzer, the Warship will sit up and fly dead straight, almost floating through the air, before gently dropping nearly straight down.

A word of warning, though. The Warship can be a little bit touchy, especially if it's thrown at full power. Mine will dump hard to the right if I over-torque it, muscle it, or throw it on any kind of anhyzer, so it takes a gentle touch, but it will reward you in spades if you learn to handle it. "Slow is smooth, smooth is far" is the motto of the Warship, but it adheres to that principle with fanatical devotion.

I can't speak to how the Warship handles as a turnover disc or a hyzer disc, since I tend to only throw it as a long-flying straight shot, but it excels at what I ask it to do. The Warship is one of the best mid ranges I've ever thrown and I expect it to stay in my bag for many rounds to come.

Some people swear by the Warship. I will not. I bought it hoping that it could be a main workhorse disc. I often struggle between throwing fairway drivers or midranges, and I thought a straight-stable 6 speed disc would be the perfect compromise, but it just did not work for me. The rim felt super wonky, and the disc was deeper than I like. I took it to the field, and it just got worse for me. The Warship I had had next to no stability, not anywhere near the 0/1 turn/fade and more like the opposite. The Warship has such a great following that it has to be pretty good for many people, but I am not one of those people.

This disc has serious one disc round potential. This can be your complete bag work horse of a disc. It has sneaky distance and glide and a unique rim style for a midrange. They clearly designed this wanting to get more distance from their other midranges, and they succeeded. The best part is that they did this without compromising stability. This thing is still stable. Feel free to rip on it and it won't turn over on you! You can get really strong distance out of this thing with a very smooth consistent forward fade out of it. Put hyzer on it and it holds that line like a champ, anhyzer, same thing. You have got to give this disc a try! It literally is the best of both worlds of a midrange and a control driver!

Not only is the Warship my favorite mid range but maybe one of my favorite discs in general.

Coming from a Buzz the Warship took a little getting used to. Dealing with the crazy amount of glide and figuring out how much power to put on it or take off of it took a little practice but once I did this thing does everything I want it to. Anything between 150' and 300' on a calm day and I can park this thing under the basket. I won't throw it if it's windy. It gets too unpredictable for me. Gentle winds and I reach for an EMac Truth. Anything beyond gentle winds and I grab the Suspect.

Five stars from me but I can't seem to do that from my iPad.

The warship is one of those mids that you can build a bag around. Different plastics and runs make a difference in stability. I have one Vip new stamp, one moonshine new stamp and two tournament. One new stamp and one old. The old stamp TP is a flip machine. Some of those are still available for sale as I write this. The old stamp TP is very flat. All the other ones have a fair dome to them. If you want to try the warship, I recommend getting a couple in different plastics. Besides the flip machine, the others will respond to the line you put them on. Be warned that the vip will flip a tad more than the moonshine will. So a good bet for hyzer is moonshine. vip and new stamp TP are quite straight. Solid disc that will put up a fight to the other popular mids on the market. Pick up one or four warships today and begin building your fleet.

This is my go to mid range. This disc is straight for a long time and has a nice little fade at the end of the flight. After a Warship seasons a bit you can get it to hold a slight anhyzer line and it will end up straight. This mid range has a great amount of glide and you can get some good distance with control with this disc. The Warship IMO is very underated and should be in more players bags. Those that throw the Warship love them! They are a great disc.

I really can't say enough good about this disc! I have one in tournament plastic and it is one of the most used discs in my bag. It is a bit seasoned now and I love the way it flies. If you really get into it you'll get a very mild right turn before a mild fade left (RHBH), landing pretty much on the target line, maybe slightly right. As a "control driver" of sorts, you can power down a tad, or release on a very slight hyzer and get a dead-straight shot with minimal fade. Amazing for tunnel shots and approaches. It seems like this disc just glides for days so it's also great for shots with a low ceiling. The rim is just right for either a power grip or a fan grip. The tournament plastic also feels real nice with solid grip.

Can't say enough about how amazing this disc is, and it's starting to become my most used disc. For a midrange this thing bombs like a control driver but flies straight as an arrow, and no matter what line you put it on it'll hold for days. Westside has definitely nailed the midrange game.

I hated woodsy technical holes until I dialed in the Warship. I'm able to hit long narrow hallways or windows (dare I say?) with ease and the speed/glide/stability on it will just laser line down the pipe. It's an incredible shot shaper for technical holes. The Warship fills out my beef cake hands well, as the rim is just a little bit wider than your standard midrange rim. The Warship also goes very far if you want it to. Theres no need to put power into this disc at all, just be light and controlled, and it'll take care of the rest. It's my staple disc for tight and technical holes now, and I don't see it getting kicked out anytime soon, if ever. Also, for a brand new beginner, I would recommend this disc as your first driver/mid. I find the Warship to be the new unsung hero of the Westiside lineup.

For reference, I'm a backhand dominant player.

I love my warship! I have a beauty of a TP grey blue swirl version and it gets used a few times a round. This is your go to straight flier off the tee. I recommend this disc as a beginner driver, or a intermediate/pro mid range. This disc can and will fly laser straight with minimal fade and a ton of glide for the speed of the disc. It has a midrange type rim, but can handle more of a "rip" akin to a control driver. Tunnel shots, laser approaches...its just a fun disc and fits a great spot in the middle of the bag.

If you don't have this disc you need it or a disc like it. Hyzer flip for long straight flight. And if you need to have a nice gentle turn, throw it flat. Once you break this disc in it just gets better. It replaced the Leopard in my bag because I get the same distance with less effort.

I've got a 175g Tournament Warship and I feel my review would simply be an echo to much that has already beed said about it. First off, this disc (and most other Swedish/Finnish discs) seems to be made by mixing helium in with the plastic mixture, this thing has TONS of glide. The tournament plastic feels good in the hand and is very durable, but with mine I've also experienced what others have said and that is that when powered up (RHBH) it will fly on a left to right path (not quite turning over, but close) with very minimal fade at the end. This usually causes me to over shoot the mark a bit. This disc did not make the cut for a permanent place in my bag because my Buzzz and Fuse fit my needs a little better for a straight shooter or more workable mid (respectively). I would recommend this disc for people newer to the game or that have slower arm speed (my wife can get some serious D with this disc, and she loves it).
