The Westside Underworld is the ideal driver for beginners. This understable disc has a high degree of high-speed turn, followed by minimal low-speed fade. It has a moderate sized 1.9 cm rim, and a comfortable feel that will provide new disc golfers more control and distance than most other discs. For more experienced players, the Underworld is great for straight hyzer flip throws that will go the distance. The Underworld is available in both VIP and Tournament plastics.

I'm an intermediate, forehand dominant player. I bought this disc for one shot - a hyzer flip that says relatively straight, low to the ground, and won't dump hard right at low speed (RHFH). With zero breaking in, I had some success with that shot. For me, this is not a disc to throw into a headwind as it flipped too easily even with a hyzer release. I throw more anhyzers than I would like due to my weak backhand, and this disc holds that line nicely too on a higher trajectory.

My underworld is max weight elasto.  I think I got a freak because this thing flies like a star leopard? On a flat release It will glide right but only if I give it 75% or above power.  Anything less and it turns a little and finishes straight.  I've thrown one of these before in VIP that was very flippy, which i thought would make a good roller disc or fill the light throw easy distance tunnel shot slot. But the one I've got has to have some stank on it to glide right RHBH. Westside ELASTO plastic has always overachieved for me In durability and stability.

Overall This disc has put my star leopard on the rack for the time being, not sure how replaceable it is but until that time i'm stoked.

This disc taught me to hyzer flip.  It's not quite as flippy as the VIP version, but it'll turn over pretty easily most of the time.  Before I could hit 300', I picked up this disc and used it for shots where I needed more distance to the right, but my forehand couldn't get it out there.  Once I started getting it to go right from a flat throw, I began hyzer flipping little by little, until I could get it to fly about 320' with a nice big S curve.  Now that I can easily flip it and turn it all the way over, I use it for most of my long field drives to get a little more distance that I can out of a flat flying disc.  I also love it for backhand rollers.  The Elasto Plastic can take a serious beating and the flight characteristics are barely affected.  If you've been playing about 6 months or so, I highly recommend trying the Underworld and seeing if you can get a little more distance on your field shots as well as any dog-leg right shots that you might othewise forehand, if you have a stronger backhand.

I picked up a 173 Elasto Underworld on a whim, even though I was content with that slot in my bag. I liked my Discraft Heat, but I liked how the plastic felt and the 6 glide was intriguing. After a few rounds, I don't think I'm going back to the Heat any time soon.

For new players, this is going to be easy distance for them. It does not take a lot of effort to get big results with it. For more advanced players, if you take power off it, you can get some gorgeous s curves with it. That S curve however does need some room to work. If you release it flat with a bit too much sauce on it, it's turning and burning. It does take some time to find that sweet spot. When you find that sweet spot, it's a thing of beauty to watch in the air.

Put it on an anhyzer line and it holds that line all the way to the ground. Thrown hard on that any line and it produces those big swooping anhyzer shots that make those opposite side dogleg fairways a breeze. Lefty alert- you need this shot!

I haven't tried to hyzer flip it yet, as I have been working on getting that sweet spot down. With that glide rating I'm expecting some pretty awesome things.

I chose Elasto plastic, and I suggest that choice for not only comfort and grip, but on the blind Anhyzer shots you will reach for this disc on, sometimes it's best to have something that can take a hit from obstacles you may not see.
